This is my go to spot for a burrito. It's a no thrills place off Cicero Ave and expressway . Parking lot isn't that big and they don't have a TV mounted on the wall anymore - but the food is decent - steak burrito is good! If eating in and you order a side of sour cream - it's enough for 4 people! lol The quesadillas are tiny but the shrimp fajitas is good portion size. This place is one of my go-to comfort meals. I get the most gringa meal ever (chicken quesadilla dinner) but the quality of the meat and flavor of the rice and beans is so delicious. Overall, it was good, not great. Recommended to us by a close friend, finally tried to give it a shot! Their horchata is good but lacked flavor. Guac also lacked flavor (very bland) and the chips were somewhat stale. Steak tacos (3) dinner with beans and rice : average. It was all very "so-so." I'm Mexican American, okay. I've thought hard about this review before posting-I would NEVER order from here again and do not recommend it to anyone. From my experience I don't know how they are in business. I ordered the chimichanga dinner. Immediately when opening the box the smell was off. The rice was basic and the beans were so repulsive I'm torn that there was something wrong with them beyond the recipe. I tried a few bites but they were awful and was done. The chimichanga was almost as bad, the grease it was fried in was disgusting and needed changed, the chicken extremely poor quality and could not be eaten. The meat was seasoned or marinated almost attempting to mask the condit There were more beans inside which was the final straw ruining the entree. The order was thrown out and was inedible. Hours later I was violently sick and as I had not eaten all day I can't help but think it was this meal. Without exaggeration this was one of the worst meals I've ever had. Back in the day it was known as Taqueria El Ranchito! It was palatable but not as good as what's available today. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure a friend told me its got the same owners. More than a decade ago I would hit this taqueria for a decent burrito suizo. Buuut, ingredients weren't as good as what's available now. This is to mean that in the last twenty years the Mexican communities that run these small restaurants have been able to locate more authentic ingredients. (Real chorizo or marinated ground beef, rather than taking a frozen burger patty and covering it in taco sauce. And yes, I've had that before and it was gross) So many years later, it's now known as El Pueblito and is a favorite to the locals. On a daily basis you can find a number of people in here enjoying Mexican favorites. For a time I too liked it, that is until I found the best taqueria in the area. This isn't something I'd go out of my way for and when I did, I might dine on a few tacos or a burrito suizo. One thing about their meats is that its prepared well done. Al pastor is fried to death and their lengua used to be pretty tasty two years back but today, I dunno, it's missing something. Maybe their quality has fallen or choices in having fresher selections of meats have dwindled. Also I learned some unsavory news about management which has been blocking any inclination in spending money here. But I'll keep those details to myself because it pertains to employee treatment. For some odd reason Grubhub handles a lot of their business. For example when calling you may hear the Grubhub name and when they're charging it's using their systems. I believe this is because management isn't very familiar with the services their getting from Grubhub. Problems are plentfiul with online ordering. Look at reviews. This can become a headache for those ordering delivery or carryout. If you're trying to help out this family owned business I believe you must order in person, that is the only way they receive all monies. Last, their location in the strip mall is oddly placed. I mean that whomever sketched the build for this property is a nincompoop. Parking placement is odd and only accessible from certain directions. Because they are located on a busy corner it can be a hassle to pull in. This also blocks a possible customer from stopping close-by and walking in. Parking is not allowed on any of the two streets. The nearest parking if not in the lot is two to three blocks behind the restaurant. read more

I have gotten delivery from here several times. The food has been consistently good. I usually get chicken items and, unlike many Mexican restaurants in the area, the chicken is always well flavored and never dry. Everything is prepared well and delivered quickly. My one issue is I got steak tacos once and the steak had alot of fat and gristle. I know this can happen when they are rushing and hit the bottom of the prepared meat.
