I had a coupon for this spot so my husband and I decided to give it a try. It's pretty good that we decided to keep coming to this spot. The first time we went we got combination plates. I got 2 shredded beef tacos with rice and beans and my husband got a chili relleno and 1 shredded beef taco also with rice and beans. The meat in the tacos were moist, tender, and deliciously juicy. They also put a generous amount of meat in our tacos. Definitely appreciated that. The beans I can say are authentic and possibly cooked with lard but those kinds of beans are the best! Came back a month later and still amazing! While their salsa bar is not self serve right now due to Covid and they only give you a couple of small containers, I saw a sign that they are selling larger quantities of salsa for a reasonable price! I strolled in this taco spot with high hopes of getting a post workout carne asada burrito. There were a decent amount of people in there so must be good right ..!? Wrong lol I ordered the standard Carne soda burrito came with guacamole and green sauce. I got home took a bite of my burrito and was highly dissatisfied. The meat was gray and flavorless. I been coming here for quite sometime over the years, and I do have to say the prices have changed over time. Even with that being said what hasn't changed is the welcoming feeling you get from the afternoon crew. The girl that has been there for many years and the boy with the glasses are my all time favorite cashiers. The others are great too, minus a few bad apples in the bunch, but these two know what customer service is. The quality of the food is always great. Doesn't matter what time of day I come that is by far one thing that is always amazing! I applaud the cooks for the consistence and the quickness!! Ordered a carnitas burrito here for $14.00 which comes with rice ,beans, and guac. I asked if I could get beans on the side and no rice. The nice girl said no we can't do this per the owner. I guess for a $14.00 burrito that's asking to much! They do not offer tortilla chips. The owner needs to go and learn how to run a taco shop. I live near about 3/4 different little Mexican restaurants and these guys are the only ones that use real ham steak in the breakfast burritos instead of that thin Sandwhich meat ham. Salsa selection is nice. read more

Help us somewhat friendly restaurants clean organize and quite full at this time. It was pretty good but needs more hominy lots of meat though. They seem to be out of a lot of items no carnitas no posole I don't know what else. Corn tortillas or rather dry they could use some help. One last but very important note kids were all in front of candy/bubblegum machines that are right in front if the cash register. Been coming here for years, but have been going less and less because the prices have kept going up and the quantity and quality going down. We notice especially during weekdays that burritos are half the size they used to be. Taquitos started having less guacamole and then now very little meat and little quac. The prices are restaurant prices now. If raising prices as much as they have this last year, you gotta keep up the quality. It's not worth going here anymore. But it has had great times. My new favorite tacos shop for shredded beef tacos!! It was previously Aztec Taco, but their tacos kept getting smaller and smaller and all they put on them is a tiny bit of lettuce, meat and white cheese. Not to mention they are expensive. I finally had enough and set out to find a new taco joint. We moved up here from San Diego and as much as I love it up here, the Mexican food up here is less than desirable. I've been up here for 5 years and just found them gem of a place! They hand make their crunchy tacos and rolled tacos like most of the places down in San Diego. Also, when I order extra cheese, I GET EXTRA CHEESE. Seriously every other taco shop rips me off when I ask and PAY for extra cheese. Not here! Tacos are stuffed full of meat and topped generously with lettuce cheese and tomatoes. Fair pricing, generous portions and freshly made. Parking is a little tricky in the busy shopping center but worth the hassle. I haven't had anything else on their menu so I can speak for the rest of the food, but if you want a delicious shredded beef taco, come here!!! read more

Let me start with a staple of every Mexican joint: Rice and beans. Simply amazing. Rice is packed with flavor and the regrows beans are perfectly cooked and smooth. Not too dry or too wet. Tacos are great as well. My wife really enjoys the burritos. This is a smaller casual dining type place. Orders come out quick and are made to order. Only complaints are the tortillas (don't seem to be made fresh, in house but still on par with most Mexican spots around me) and the salsa isn't my favorite. I love to drown my tacos with salsa and theirs just isn't quite right for me. I've been told I'm wrong by several other people so it could just be me! read more

This is the best taco shop in Temecula the food is great but the customer service just seems to be off. I come in here weekly for the same burrito and the one time I order it to be delivered along with a bunch of other food I asked for them to consider putting fries in my burrito since there was no option to add them on the grub hub app. The lady said there was nothing she could do stated she would talk to the boss came back and said there was nothing they could do. Honestly I work in food service industry and I would honor my returning customers if they took the time to call and just ask how could they fix that issue next time and if they could honor it this one time. El Ranchito used to be the go-to taco spot for my wife's family every single Tuesday for what seemed like forever. I will admit that for the last 10 years since I've known about it, I'm glad they've at least kept the place in decent shape considering the amount of people that come through this shopping center. The food itself is okay... my biggest gripe with the place though is just how much grease literally oozes out of my food... it's disgusting. Don't get me wrong - I know Mexican food is cooked with a lot of grease, but I've been to a number of other local shops that don't leave a grease puddle like Ranchito does. Also, a charge for horchata refills? Come on... what a lame upsell! Alberto's and Los Primos both have their waters out in the open. Aside from those items, this place still seems to be a decent place to eat... but with places like Alberto's, So Cal Tacos, and Los Primos around now (and all with better prices) El Ranchito just isn't our first choice anymore. read more

Bookmarked El Ranchito awhile back, finally tried it before wine tasting earlier this week. This is a tiny little place located in a shopping center a couple miles North of wine country. As soon as I got to the register I noticed a sign stating they will no longer give out complimentary chips and another sign that says Jamaica and Horchata refills are $1.08...made me wonder if this place is falling on hard times. At lease the soda refills are still free! I ordered a #1 combo, a hard taco with shredded beef, a cheese enchilada, rice, and beans. Combos don't come with a drink so I ordered one of those too, and my meal came to just under $10. My food was alright. My favorite part of the meal was definitely the taco, there is nothing better than a well made shredded beef taco, in my opinion. This one was spot on for what I like. The enchilada though, was just meh, the beans were runny, and the rice needed some spicing up with salsa. My friend ordered taquitos, which she enjoyed but I did not try. I saw another person's order of carne asada street tacos that looked good. I suppose their name is "Taco Shop" so maybe tacos are the only way to go here. I will try it again on another trip to Temecula, stick to tacos only, and see how I feel about it then. read more

Tacos, Tacos, And More Tacos. Tried this place out today for a late lunch. It's a solid 3 1/2 Star Taco Joint. Tried Four Different Types. Carnitas. Carna Asada. Lingua. And A Fish Taco. The Carna Asada was a little dry and tough. The Fish was pretty good and quite large compared to the other street tacos. THe Carnitas Taco was outstanding and was my favorite of the four. The Lingua (Beef Tongue) was a little over cooked but super tender. Better Tacos than some I've had. There is plenty of Parking, and plenty of seating. The prices are fair on most of their items. The Salsas are not bad but their hottest wasn't all that hot. However the flavor was good. The service was friendly and fast and pleasant. All in all I will eat here again next time I'm in the area. The food is good, but the customer service is bad. They are so stingy I asked for limes, for my burrito and she gave me TWO wedges, I asked her for more and she said no, another customer offered to give me more, I even offered to pay. This also happened before with carrots, I asked her for a bag of carrots AS she was making them, and she said "no these are for the night shift." The crazy thing is when I asked for lemons she told the cook "just give me 3 limes" so she intentionally did it on purpose. Then I was waiting, and the customer told her, you can help her before me and she said no it's ok to the customer. Then starts talking to the chef in front of me, little does she know that I know spanish, so I knew she was talking about me. I even offered to pay for my limes, she still said no. I will never come back again. Also, I called multiple times and they didn't answer, and when I she finally picked up and I was placing my order she was talking to another customer. The incident with the carrots was Laura The other last is the short older lady with curly hair and highlights that wears her hair in a pony tail. Oh my gosh let me tell you their lengua tacos are SO GOOD!!! I got a combo plate and the tacos came with rice, beans, radish, and lime. The flavor of the meat was immaculate. The texture of the tortilla was soft. The only reason this isn't a 5 star is because I think the rice and beans could have used a tad more flavor, and the horchata could be a little less watery. However that is me being picky since I grew up with homemade Mexican food. Other than that, It was amazing. I will definitely be going back soon. Def worth the price.
