Order menudo, it had a really bad smell and it was cold.. to finish it off they had no soap in the restroom I mention the worker who was in the cash register he said he will refill soap dispensery, which he never did. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. The service is non existent, the food was below average, end of story.

My family and I had high hopes for this meal, unfortunately the only aspect that was satisfactory was the cashier's service. The people here are very nice, however, it leaves much to be desired and doesn't accurately represent comida de Oaxaca. Tameles Oaxaqueños are supposed to have banana leaves but the ones order here had nothing of the sort and lacked flavor. Everything else we ordered followed this disappointing path, however I will say that the taco de asada was actually pretty good. I would not recommend, but the portions are large so if you just want to get full this place is fitting. read more

A little on the slow side but the food is yummy. Just had the juiciest lengua buritto made to order as well as some super carnitas quesadilla0. We have ordered other combo meals from here before and everything was good. Many of the options are on the heavy side but it's up to you to get the healthier stuff if that's what you want. Ordered the huevos de la mexicano and got complimentary chips and salsa Just wanted to try some random breakfast diner around Santa Maria and this place popped up. Area was kind of sketch looking but it's like any type of American breakfast diner spot but it's Hispanic in nature. The seating is very accommodating for huge scores of people and for the most part they speak Spanish here. It opens at 5am everyday for the most part and I came in around 750am. The menu is extensive and it's in both English and Spanish. The cashier and also one of the chefs helped me place the order. They forgot to provide me some chips and salsa until one of the other helpers saw and got it for me apologetically. The chips and salsa were AMAZING! Freshly cooked chips and the salsa was freshly made. After getting this, I was really hoping for an amazing dish. The huevos de la Mexicano was a decent meal. Was expecting a homemade styled dish but it ended up as a typical American-Mexican dish out of a chain restaurant like La Hacienda. Nothing wrong with the entirety of the dish, just didn't have a lot of heart in it from the culture . Not really recommended for people to come in here. Tamales oaxaquenos are not the easiest thing in the world to make. You need to cook the chicken and embed that in masa and then wrap that in banana peels and when you are done it has taken all day long. At this place, my tamales were ever so slightly dry, but they were well spiced and most importantly, they existed and they were cheap and tasty! Go get them. read more

Ate here for dinner with a big group the other night. I really enjoyed it. The mole was really special. Very clearly homemade and chock full of flavor. I am pretty sure this was not a "chocolate" mole as is more commonly known in the US. Definitely on the spicier side. It came with 2 decent sized pieces of chicken on the bone, as it should. The rice was quite good as well and felt kinda rustic and was also very flavorful. My wife was nice accommodated with a chicken mole burrito despite that not being a menu option. That was cool. The Oaxacan Tamale was also really good. I prefer Salvadorean Tamales because of the more fluffy/light masa texture, but you can't go wrong with any banana leaf tamale with mole in it. Jamaica was good too but I don't think it was any different than normal. Family member's enchiladas looked great, the quesadillas were ...well they looked deadly. Sure the atmosphere isn't festive or anything like that... but I certainly didn't feel uncomfortable or anything like that. This place has been open for years so it's crazy how few reviews it has. Based on the number of people who were there it seems to have enough word of mouth in the Spanish speaking community to not need white guy yelp help... but here I am anyway. The jamaica was good, my friends loved their dishes (birria de chivo and something else I forgot).
