Mexican food! Finally! Yes! So my hometown is Zacatecas, Mexico and I couldn't believe there was a restaurant in New Hampshire named after my hometown! So of course I had to try it! The restaurant is super cute and quaint with a nice bar. They have a huge margarita menu which is overwhelming so I had to ask which one was the most popular one and got that one. The menu looked good but I was really craving tacos so I order some tacos Al Pastor which came with a side of beans and rice. My boyfriend got one of their meat platters which also looked good. The tacos were very good! The tortillas especially stood out because they tasted legit! The rice and beans also tasted authentic so I was very satisfied with my choice. My boyfriends meat dish was very tasty and he was kind enough to share a few bites. My margarita was huge and tasted very strong but I was ok with that. The nice waitress made sure we were taken care, she was very attentive. What a great find! I can't wait to come back! Both our entrees were very good

My friend and I met here for lunch. First time for each of us. Inside is very clean and wonderfully decorated! The server working was super friendly, fast, and helpful without being intrusive. We arrived as they opened at 11am. There is a good amount of comfortable seating inside. The chips and salsa are complimentary and house made! The salsa is a wee bit spicy- just enough to be enjoyable, not salty, and very fresh! The cups are unsalted which I love! We both drank water. Our server was excellent at keeping our glasses filled! I had the Veracruz plate which includes grilled shrimp, zucchini, summer squash, onions, mushrooms, rice, and black beans. You can specify a corn or flour tortilla. I don't recall what my friend ordered. We haven't seen each other in a bit and we're also hungry so chatting and eating causes me to forget to photograph her meal. She said it was great! I love that they are on both DoorDash and GrubHub so I can order from them and eat at home if I want to stay in. I want to come back to try some house specials, and a margarita! Thank you El Rincon Zacatecano! I'll be back!!

This place is small and kind of uninviting from the outside, so you know what that means? Yep, some killer tacos! Hole in the wall places are the best, right? And who thought one of my favorite dishes (choripollo) could be made into a taco? Are you as suprised as me that it's not common to see that? Who doesn't love chicken and chorizo together? (Can I ask any more questions in this review?) Would I go back? Is the pope Catholic?

Great service, cozy seats, convenient to the SNHU center. We arrived early to find a sticky table and dirty floor. We ordered a horchata which tasted like it was from a mix. The tacos borrachos were decent and they were generous with the portion. The bistec meat quality was poor. The meat was hard and dry. We left most of it over. Their chips are good but the salsa is boring. No spice!! Their "hot" house sauce, by request only, is terrible and they don't have any other hot sauces to choose from. This is a great place to go before an event. Expect the typical Mexican food adjusted for the American palate.

Food is very good. Very clean, quiet and nice atmosphere. I got the chori pollo. The chicken very well cooked and flavorful. The queso and chorizo is super good too. I recommend parking on the other side of the street and walking over, parking in Manchester is limited. The service is very good.

Came here around an hour before closing on a Friday night, it was fully packed!! Seems like a popular place and was lively. I almost wished we had eaten in but bringing it to the hotel and ordering take out was what we needed after a long day. We ordered three fully meals, a couple guacs on the side, and a few empanadas. In total it cost 70$ with a tip. The beef empanada was delicious! The food was all good, not authentic Mexican food but definitely did the trick since we were so tired and hungry. The only reason I took off a star was because I had thought the food would automatically come with chips and salsa. Was a little disappointed when we opened the box, that we did have any chips especially for the cost and tip we left. They also didn't include any silverware or napkins which was rather inconvenient as we had to hunt it down in the hotel. Overall, 3.5/5 stars

Great Mexican in downtown Manchester! Searching yelp and noticed that El Rincon featured a mole enchilada dish. I had to try it. The enchiladas were good and would have been a 5 star review but needed some more mole sauce. Luckily I had asked for additional Also ordered side of flour tortillas. Small but believe they homemade as they were delicious! I will go out of my way to stop here again when driving through Manchester. Per picture I ordered takeout.

We've now been here a multiple times, and it is consistently outstanding. The food is authentic, you couldn't get homemade family style Mexican food growing up in NH. We lived in NM a year and ate tons of Mexican, New Mexican, and Baja style foods all the time. This last time we came for Margaritas and a snack before my mom received an award across the street. The service is on point and friendly. So many restaurants have gone downhill the last 3 years, but many have excelled-great job! Another time we took my mother in law here on the way back from an airport run to pick us up. She loved the empanadas, and guacamole we do too, they also have excellent enchiladas, and the Al Pastor is delicious, and had them on nachos last time. I would say most everything is delicious. They have vegetarian options too! If you like spice be sure to ask for the house made extra spicy hot sauce.

We decided to try this place because of the reviews and from the outside, we were unsure what it would be like. However, upon entering, we were welcomed into a cozy restaurant with beautiful decor and pleasant servers. We immediately were sat down with warm chips and fresh salsa. Having heard about the spicy salsa, I asked for it and it actually packed a punch! I have a pretty high spice tolerance and never feel the heat from most restaurants' spiciest salsas, but this one very pleasantly surprised me! Highly recommend if you like spicy food. The beans and the rice were so delicious. I kept going back for more even after getting full. The enchiladas were scrumptious as well. They were so accommodating for our vegetarian diet, and it was a delight to have more than cheese in the vegetarian enchiladas. The veggies inside were fresh and crunchy. The churros were warm, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside and they were perfect with the chocolate. Finally, Brenda was the sweetest!! What a genuinely warm and kind person. She was so attentive, easy to talk to, and a true light. I will definitely be coming back for more.

We went a couple weeks ago and was very impressed! Haven't had such a great torta since leaving SoCal. The chili relleno was also outstanding. I know that torta is "just a sandwich" but it's not. The bread has to be perfect the cheese has to be great and the torta here are just that, perfect! The service was outstanding and we will definitely be back again. read more

No social distancing. Tables crammed and then some. They tried to sit us by the door right next to where people were constantly waiting for a table, the bar, or to pick up orders, as there was no delineation between where anybody was supposed to wait for anything. We get another table, order, and then wait. And wait. And wait some more. After about 25 minutes with no food (ordered soup, tongue tacos, and sopes - only the last one would need to be made to order), a loud party of drinkers comes in. The waitress has the gall to ask us to move to accommodate them. We say no. Another 20 minutes pass. They don't have the soup. They couldn't tell us earlier? We leave after another 15 minutes. Never going back. read more

Stopped in for lunch today. Server did not seem happy to be there and didn't smile or exhibit any kind of personality while we were placing our order. We ordered queso dip with chorizo and tacos. The dip was extremely thin, almost soup like and lacking any flavor. Tacos were very dry. Rice and beans were okay. This visit was a far cry from the experiences we had grown accustomed to having here and after this visit I'm pretty confident we won't be back at least not any time soon. read more

This is one of the restaurants we'd love to go to in terms of authentic mexican food. The ambiance is great , the location and it's kids friendly. Food are definitely awesome ! The only downside I don't like about it is that this Italian waitress , with tattoos , short whom is flirting with customer in front of his wife and child.. Please train your waitress not to flirt with customers just to get a higher tips. First of all , when I came in with my kid the first thing she ask , " how many ? " No hello or welcome..when we sat down coz were waiting for my husband, she came over and get our orders..few minutes later hubby came , then the waiter came too. When I order margarita , I made clear that I want salt but what came with it was sugar . When the food was served she didn't even say anything knowing it was sizzling hot. She only talk and ask one person ( my husband ) not me , nor my kid. She checks on us 4-5 times that somehow I get annoyed. She make sure she get my husbands attention and walk away shaking her *ss to see...congratulations to her, she did get 30% tip that night. But I'm telling you , Iam not satisfied with her service at all. Some people don't care and have no moral at all. read more

I tried this place the other day, I enjoyed it, food was good. I got the shrimp burrito and they are very generous with the shrimp. The soda is right out of a 20 ounce bottle so it's not watered down fountain soda. The chips and salsa are very good also. Only negative would be I ordered chips and queso and it came out after we had already had our food for some time. Chips and queso usual come out first every other place I've ever been. But it was really good so it redeemed itself. Prices are middle to high at this place, but the quality of food is very good and I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

UPDATE: It's no longer a half hour away so now I go all the time. Still my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in the US. Lately I've been going for the shrimp tacos but literally everything I've tried is amazing. ------------ BEST Mexican food I've had in the US!! Seriously amazing!! I have yet to be disappointed by anything. It's always perfect and looks amazing! If it wasn't a half hour drive, I'd go all the time. read more

I live in Los Angeles traveling here on business. My wife is from San Diego and we've had our share of really good Mexican food. But, this place has got to be surprisingly top 3 I've ever had! And it's in New Hampshire? I simply had 3 tacos..what I typically get at a new Mexican restaurant: Carnitas, Al Pastor, and Carne Asada. They were ALL bomb. Usually at least 1 is good, but all 3 were very delicious. If only I had more time in my business trip to try more of their menu. I think they sprinkle crack in the pastor. Yum!! If this was in LA, I'd be here at least once a week. read more

Stopped in for lunch. It was busy, staff was masked, tables were clean, food was fantastic. I had the Choripollo Tacos, 3 generously filled tortillas (doubled up so they didn't fall apart) with yummy chicken and chorizo, onions, cilantro, and a tomatillo sauce. The rice was light and fluffy, nice hint of cilantro, and the beans were very good and tasted homemade. My companion had the Tacos Borrachos, which were also delicious. Great local Mexican restaurant. Small and comfey, but extremely loud on a Friday night. Great margaritas. Dishes are served fast and hot. Service is quick. Pork nachos were great, nice amount of meat and avacado, could use some more real cheese. Fajita was hot and tasty. NOT a seafood place like yelp says. They have several shrimp dishes and one that has talapia ( mutant fish don't eat ) but that does not make it a seafood place in my book. We would definitely go back. read more

My go to for authentic fresh Mexican! Truly the best tasting in the city. The menu is fun, the food is amazing and the margaritas are to die for! Your plate will never come out burning microwave hot. This is the only restaurant I know of in Manchester where you can get yourself some tongue. So, if you are in the mood for tongue, maybe before a concert at the SNHU Arena, stop on by, get a Mexican soda and stuff your face with delicious tongue. read more

If you like small, local, family owned places do yourself a favor and stop for a meal at this place. Absolutely loved the food, people and atmosphere. Driving by I wouldn't have stopped but incredibly glad I did. Great chips, salsa, carnitas, frosted mugs everything is great. Slow service who cares just a great place to support. Just went here for dinner! It's such a small restaurant but very welcoming. I got the fish tacos and my boyfriend got the shrimp tacos. Both excellent choices. The menu is vast and there is something for everyone to choose from. A great, inexpensive place to go for Mexican in Manchester. read more

Ordered their chilaquiles. It's those cut up tortillas that are fried and had either red or green sauce with chicken. And some generous amount of cheese as toppings. I enjoyed my food. It is very delicious. Came out of the kitchen and served to me pretty well-plated and fresh. The ingredients were all balanced in terms of amount. They got plenty of seats. Proper spacing in between tables too so you get a little privacy and avoid too much noise around you. But really not kind of my interior although I understand why it's designed that way. I did enjoy my food just wow. People are nice too. Service is okay. It's a busy place, got lots of customers so sometimes food takes a while, the staff tends to prioritize others. But that's fine with me. Not complaining it's part of their job. Although I did wait for my food a bit I'm not that dissatisfied to the point I would not come again. Plase is overall okay for me. I really just get weirded by the too much decorations hanging on the ceiling. Anyway, would still recommend the place. They deliver authentic Mexican food and their sauce are all fantastic. They got big serving sizes too. They provide complimentary chips and salsa by the way. The drinks come in very big sizes. Will probably come on a less busy day and hour, I guess. A buddy of mine mentioned that I have to try the tacos at this restaurant and even though it's not exactly around the corner from me (just kidding it really is only 7 minutes away) I went for the first time with my GF last weekend. I have tried a lot of the "old school" Mexican places in New England, and Taqueria is about the best.The charm to this place is definitely the homey and cozy feel ... it's just plain good. I gotta admit that I'm pleasantly surprised that this kind of hidden place right in downtown can actually be that good. Delicious entrees made fresh when you order. We stumbled across this place where the walls were red and decorations everywhere ! we had to stop by & check out what's so great about this place ! We walked in and immediatley the waitress came to our service , she welcomed us with a big "TAKE A SEAT !" She was very polite and had a good humor ! She gave us the menus , and there was sooooo much to choose from ! I had her answer some questions and write off the back she had the answers ! she knew what she was doing ! So after she took our order and I HAD to try the enchiladas rojas and the chile rellenos ! Just wanted to write an update because I have seen a few reviews of people saying that they were let down by yelp reviews. Since my review, my husband and I have frequented El Rincon and enjoyed each visit. El Rincon is NOT Southern California Mexican food, which is incredible and I have yet to find a place in New England that is close other than my kitchen. It is LEGIT south of the border mexican food. The kind of stuff that you gotta drive a few hours south of the border to reach. For me and my husband, it is a real treat. To those who speak of them using the wrong avocados I have to chuckle a bit. I highly doubt that someone can call Fuerte Avocados vs. Hass Avocados or any other variety when mixed up as guac. I think what people may be noticing is that the Avocado was probably cut a bit early before it was truly ripe. I won't be pleased either, but I thought I would just point this out. read more

All I can say is WOW!! - I have eaten at Rick Bayless Restaurants in Chicago (who if you don't know him, you really are not a Mexican food fan). I can say, this food rates at the top of my list as high as Rick Bayless without the fancy price tag. I think the prices are too low (yes, can you believe I said that) ??? I only state that because I never want this place to go out of business. They have been in business over a year now and with this quality of food, they will surely be in business a long time The owner Juana and her sister Perla was sooo very very nice. I am addicted to El Rincon!!! The food is amazing. The service is great. Seriously the best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico! What more can I say? Well, I'm not short on words of praise, so I won't stop there. I first tried El Rincon two weeks ago at the suggestion of some friends who knew my fondness for authentic Mexican food. Since then, I've been back twice... and have told pretty much everyone I know about it! The food is freshly prepared and oh-so-good. The guacamole is to die for, and the tamales and beef tostadas - even better! My wife has tried the tacos tradicionales (asada and al pastor) and raves about them as well. el rincon zacatecano is a great place to come for a meal. i walked in and and was greeted by a very friendly young lady who seated us and asked us what we wanted to drink .it is a very comfortable atmosphere with bright colors and a very cozy feeling. right away she brought out some chips and salsa and our drinks. i ordered a burrito and she recommended me a right out of the pot tamal. the food was out in 15 minutes and everything was delicious. she also suggested to try their cake, and it was soo moist and flavorful. all in all it was a very satisfying meal and outstanding service. i would defenetky reccomend this restaurant to anyone that is in town. and without a doubt i would come back here for another great meal. read more

Being from Austin Texas - I was spoiled by authentic Tex Mex food. My parents are also from Mexico so Mexican food was my staple goring up. Moved to NH and had been looking for good, even average Mexican cuisine. I was driving through Manchester and spotted El Rincon. Decided to go in and now I am hooked. Awesome authentic and reasonably priced. There is no other place like this in all of NH. I drive from Concord as often as I can just to go to this restaurant. This is another one of my go to places when I decide to eat out in Manchester. I love the rice they provide with meals and the food is as close to authentic Mexican food as I've found in the area. If you can't decide on what to get order a burrito... any burrito.. you won't go wrong. When you get a margarita with you meal it's still a reasonable price. The food here is very good, but unfortunately they made a mistake on my order and I had to wait for…read moreit to be remade. The waiter was apologetic and made it right as quickly as he could. We went shortly after opening on a week day, and despite the restaurant being very quiet, they sat everyone right next to each other, which is a pet peeve of mine. There also appeared to be only one server working. This may explain why it took a while before someone took our order, and why he never checked in on how the food was (we had to flag him down). The ambiance is okay, but felt a little tired. I would go back if I was in the area, but it wouldn't be a go to for me.

For a lazy Sunday the food (Grande Chicken Quesadilla) took a long time to come out. Mine was takeout. They never put plasticware in the bag, so if you are taking out but not going home you'll have to eat with your hands. No one in this place moves with a purpose. There is no urgency. They also don't answer the phone most times I've called. I'm going to try a different place next time. This place used to be really good, but TBH the past couple of times I've come here I've been less than impressed. Tonight's experience warranted a review update.

We will definitely be going back. Our server was Brenda and she was great. She was pleasant to speak with and she was on top of our orders. The atmosphere reminded me of being down in Mexico with the decorations . I look forward to going back.
