This was my go-to spot for pupusas because they're delicious, but unfortunately my last experience there was pretty horrible. They have not been answering their phone, but they finally answered the phone a few days later and I placed an order for 4 bean and cheese pupusas and one shrimp torta. The women who answered the phone told me it would be ready in about 25 minutes. When we got there to pick it up, she said she never received the order. We were pretty confused, but she finally admit she did get our order and the pupusas were ready, but the chef refused to make the shrimp torta, despite being told on the phone it would be okay. My boyfriend then asked for a shrimp sope instead and the chef refused to again. The only thing the chef agreed to make with shrimp was a shrimp burrito almost an hour after ordering. My boyfriend has gotten a shrimp torta from them 5+ times so to have the chef refuse to make it with no apology was pretty confusing. This was disappointing because I like their pupusas. read more

Love their quesadilla and tacos. Hubby loves their lengua/shrimp super burritos. Store is usually empty give or take a few people so service is usually fast. I LOVED their large horchata. Went in on a rainy Sunday evening, felt like a traditional Latino family restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful, prices are very decent, and food is really good. I called in the order, ordered the meat and cheese pupusas(4), and a steak sandwich with spicy pork. Everything was really good and only came up to be about 13 bucks. The only downside is that they gave me beans and cheese pupusas. They could've at least confirmed with me before rushing to get off the phone /: But overall great little restaurant. The pupusas of el sitio are just amazing. Today we placed an order of shrimp pupusas, cheese pupusas and jalapeno pupusas with cheese. I gotta say I had never tried the shrimp pupusas but they tasted sooo good. Maybe it is because I was hungry. The total price + 2 sodas was 25 for about 10 pupusas. What I like about the pupusas served in El Sitio is that the pupusas have a great consistency. They do not fall apart or crumble. Also, they use plenty of cheese and they are willing to put jalapenos inside. I have gone to other pupuserias around and some of them, including la bamba, have refused to put jalapenos inside!!! Pretty mean if you ask me. Is it too difficult to cut some jalapenos and put them with the cheese?? So, definitely give el sitio a try. you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

Wonderful dive restaurant ME and the fams were craving pupusas and we happened to be in the Richmond area. We'll our go to place LA Bamba was already closed so we decided to check out this restaurant.... First off it's not a 5 star hoyti toyti restaurant. It's a dive. So I won't be judging on customer service or ambiance.... My rating is on the food alone and the food was BOMB! we ordered the cheese, loroco and revuelta pupusas and they were really really really good! The flavor was off the ritcher scale! Also we had the plantanos fritas (Fried plantain) and they were excellent. We also ordered the chicken tamales and they came wrapped in a banana leaf. The masa was so soft it was ridiculous! And the flavor was soooooooo comforting and rich. Like if you had a bad day, come eat here. Every bite of food is like mama is in the kitchen telling you it will be okay. We drove off that day with the flavor if authentic El Salvadoran food lingering in our mouths..... We will return. read more

My favorite place to go for pupusas!! All there food is good; burritos, tacos, quesadillas. But the pupusas have won my heart lol. They have great jamaica and horchata and the service is great. My wife and me decided to try a new taco joint here in Pinole. Normally, we would not do this. If we want "taco extravaganza", we go to Pittsburgh and hit up Carnitas Tijuana. First time coming here and the cashier didn't let us know that any orders were to go. We ordered our food and waited they gave us the food, and let us know after ordering and paying that it was only to go. This is very bad customer service because had we of known that after a certain time it was only to go we wouldn't of ordered anything. The guy had a very bad attitude telling us "well if I said we weren't selling anymore pupusas we obviously weren't selling for eating in" sir that was our first and last time going here because of the way you acted towards us. read more

Great neighborhood burrito/Mexican food. This is not a fancy place, could use some updating, but great place for take out. I usually get the same thing, super carne asada burrito with a few tweeks. I've tasted a few other items that were also good: tacos, plantains, and shrimp meal. The only thing I don't like are the round bulk buy tortilla rounds and store bought salsa. This place has changed owners so many times it's not even funny. But the current owners are doing a good job. It's a little hole in the wall restaurant near the donut shop and the laundrymat. I love this place because the meat is actually season and seasoned well! I usually go for ground beef or chicken nachos or a burrito. Super of both are a pretty decent size. The staff is always friendly (at least to me) and there's usually not a long wait. Just don't go at like 12pm during the week because that's their rush time. read more
