Breakfast burrito Side order of guacamole. Slightly brown from over ripped, avocados, but still good.
    Jamie R.

I ordered: Breakfast Burrito with bacon and hash brown -- It was good and seasoned well (salt/pepper). Similar to a home cooked burrito. Small side of med-spice verde salsa - Great salsa. It's more so mild than medium spicy, which I prefer, so that worked out for me! Side of Guacamole -- Good balance of seasoning and flavor, but I didn't like that it was visually slightly brown. So, I'm pleasantly surprised that it did not taste like over ripped avocado. I wanted to order sweet, corn, tamales, but these were not available. Service: I ordered in person in the morning around 10:50 am. Service was as expected. There was only one employee working the whole restaurant, fortunately, there was not a long line of people ordering, so my food took about 20 minutes from the time I ordered. They charge a $1.00 fee for credit and debit card transactions. Overall: I would come back to order all of these items again, plus try other dishes.

    Very clean meat. Taco

I've been here countless times and I really love the burritos and tacos. They have so so many options for food. I haven't tried everything yet. If you get a Chance, I would definitely check it out. The guacamole is so good too! I believe this is a family owned restaurant. I see the same ladies always there and the kids hanging out. It's a nice little place. I feel like it tucked away. I didn't notice it until I went to the liquor store in the same little plaza. I will definitely be coming back to try more items! They do have indoor seating but it's a small place. Because Of covid they just have takeout. I know they have a delivery option as well. Prices are great for the food you get!! Especially the burritos. There is parking, but not much. Maybe 10 parking spots. By there is street parking too.

They must have changed management because the service and the food are now equal! These tacos were $5 on taco Tuesday. I had to get more! On top of that the customer service was splendid today and yesterday as well. My new taco spot for sure!

My food is literally all over the box!!! I had to re-make my order since all the meat was hidden in the beans and rice!!

I've ordered delivery from here 3 times. First two times, no issues. 45 min or less as promised. This last time (today), order took 45 min, which is fine, but the food was a mess. My Sope and taco order was all over the box. The sope had SOME of the meat on it, the rest was drowned in my beans. The sour cream, lettuce, and guacamole were splattered on the lid of the box!!! I had to search for the meat in the beans. The taco in the same box was hidden in the rice slot! I had to pull out the tortilla and search for the al pastor meat in the rice!!! I was so hungry and the last thing I wanted was to MAKE the food myself and search for the meat!!! Other than that, the actual food is good.

Large, stuffed tacos were super yummy! And they followed my specific instructions! I will MOST DEFINITELY be ordering again!

    1. My boyfriend made us an indoor fortress, out of blankets, in our living room. 2. We didn't feel like cooking or leaving our fortress. 3. It was Taco Tuesday. So, it was an obvious choice to order in some tacos de carne asada! Now, this was our very first time ordering Mexican food to be delivered, so I searched through Yelp and found this precious gem! The tacos were larger than we expected, and STUFFED with delicious carne asada, onions, and cilantro, and they followed my instructions about what was to be delivered on the side. We are DEFINITELY ordering again....possibly tonight! Thank you for the great experience!

I can't believe that this place isn't crowded at any given time. Their chicken tacos are sooooo delicious. However, I am just in love with their pupusas. It's crispy on the outside and so soft in the inside. Their el salvadorean tamales are so fluffy yet meaty. It's the valleys hidden gem.

    my bug bites

I came in to eat at this establishment this morning. It was incredibly hot - when we asked if there was an AC, the woman said no, and didn't offer another solution. I'm glad I saw a small fan in the corner which i then had her turn on. As I'm sitting, waiting for my food, burning, i suddenly get very itchy on my leg, in 3 different spots. I immediately think its a mosquito, which i'm extremely allergic to - but my food comes and i still try to enjoy my meal because i'm hungry. Over the next few minutes my bites grow itchier and very swollen, like none i've had before. Then i look down and I actually see a mosquito on my leg biting me again!!! And i lose it, i run out, i say i can't eat here and i leave. If they had an AC unit, eating there would not only have been actually nice, but they wouldn't attract mosquitos !!! They need an AC unit, these bites are still swelling as i write this review. NO RESTAURANT should NOT have an AC. The place is bug infested and i feel bad that they make the employees work i such conditions.

Delievered by ubereats!! Arrived perfect and still hot

Beef Burritos not good, meat feels like it was reheated. The only good thing was the beans and chips. Definitely not going back.

I'll go one by one as I really didn't skimp on any of it..... First off, the brisket was so tender I couldn't even get it on to my plate originally. I had to keep stabbing at it with a fork and it just kept falling into pieces it was magical. The flavor was amazing with the perfect combination of that smokey and fire grilled taste. Didn't even need to use any sauce, but don't sleep on their BBQ sauce it had the perfect flavor of not too acidic and not too sugary. It's hard to stop eating it. I had to follow it up with the brisket quesadillas because.... well because they were staring at me and I had to show them who was boss.... Again, insane flavor combo and pleasantly addicting. Next move I had to throw down on a couple of hot wings to make sure my taste buds were still jumping and ready for the upcoming situation. Just for reference purposes, nice little kick with a bit of smokey flavor. Could've eaten 20 in one sitting but was continuing on my path of BBQ destruction. We now veered over to the baby back ribs .... I think I ate 10 before I realized what was going on. Yet again, the flavor was perfect and the meat was cooked to perfection. It didn't need any sauce, but I was a big fan of loading up on the BBQ sauce for these bad boys..... Next I shifted my fat eyed focus over to the tri-tip. It had that perfect pink center looking like a medium rare meaty super model. I went a different route here and dipped it into this horseradish sauce concoction that I never seen or heard of in my life. I don't know what was in that sauce, but it was phenomenal. I could have literally eaten this stuff by itself, but everyone was looking so I didn't want to make it weird. The tri-tip itself didn't even need any sauce and was super juicy, but that sauce just elevated the taste to another level. Now we decided to go a different location on the farm pay tribute to some smoked chicken. I had to dabble with both the BBQ sauce and the horseradish sauce as my dipping/smothering choices for this tasty bird. Couldn't even tell you how great it was without the sauce, since my mind was already fading trying to fight off my meat sweat coma. Lastly for our protein portion of the evening, I had to top it off with some of that pulled pork. Now this was extremely flavorful and some of the best I've had in quite some time. I did however enjoy lathering it up with that BBQ sauce like some of his fellow plate mates I already devoured. I will give a shout out to the sides, even though I only had a brief taste of each as I was going hard on the proteins. High fives to the potato salad, coleslaw, Mac and cheese, street corn, corn bread, tator tots and collard greens. I may have possibly missed one or 2, but after gorging on disgusting amounts of food, you tend to forget things. Had to make sure to sneak some of those greens in there so my heart didn't give out.... I however did not indulge in the chips and salsa that were there since I didn't want to come off as a pig..... So instead (as I forgot to mention previously), I took the queso and poured it over some pulled pork because that's what needed to happen at that moment.... Boom! For the grand finale, we had this banana pudding dessert that literally put me over the top. If I could openly cuss on this platform, I genuinely would.... It was absolutely orgasmic. That's right, you read that correctly. I don't know what they put in that thing, but to call it amazing would be an understatement. Pretty sure I blacked out at some point while finishing my bowl of dessert. As you can read, I was not a fan of any of the food in any way shape or form.(Sarcasm ...) I look forward to going back, but I will need to wait until I awake from this painful food coma I've been fighting off since the ending of the World Cup match watching USA beat the breaks off of Bosnia with one man down. Much love on the food and I happily dedicate this extra fat fold on my stomach and the 8lb weight gain to AJ's BBQ.

I got a brisket and half rack of ribs, with corn bread, greens, and beans. My friend got the elote cup and that was equally as amazing! Everything was excellent! If you grew up in LA like I did, this was definitely THE spot...and honestly, it still is. The interior is packed with old school charm: dim lighting, warm red and yellow accents, cozy booths, and a dining room that's instantly recognizable. But don't sleep on the outdoor patio either. It's absolutely beautiful, complete with its own bar and plenty of seating for those perfect evenings out. Casa Vega is famous for its margaritas and classic Mexican American comfort food. It's not outright authentic, but it's nostalgic and hasn't changed for decades. During my last visit, I kept it simple with a cheese enchilada, a perfectly medium rare cooked steak taco, and spicy beans and rice. While each item was simple, it was done perfectly. Definitely get the combination so you can try a little bit of everything. Like I said earlier, For me Casa Vega is all about nostalgia. The familiar flavors, the atmosphere, and those feel good vibes that keep people coming back year after year. It's a staple because we all grew up with it so if you're someone here dining for the first time, keep that in mind. Last pro tip: there is $10 valet parking which honestly saves you from trying to find parking on the main boulevard so I would say just go with it.

Casa Vega has been on my "legendary" list for a long time. After finally visiting, I'd say it was…read moremore of a one-time experience for me. Let's start with logistics: parking is valet only unless you manage to find street parking on very busy Ventura Blvd. When we arrived, we stood waiting for a bit without being acknowledged. When the hostess came over, there wasn't even a simple "hello," just "How many?" and "Do you have a reservation?" It's a small detail, but hospitality starts with a greeting. The ambience is undeniably cool -- dark, classic, very old-school LA. It has character. Food-wise, it was inconsistent. The albondigas soup leaned salty -- maybe it had reduced over time, maybe just my taste preference. The fajitas were actually the opposite: pretty bland. On the plus side, they weren't overcooked, which is common at many places. The cuts were large, not overloaded with onions (which I appreciated), but also not much chicken. The guacamole had a slight sour note. Not terrible, but enough to question how fresh it was. Our server, however, was great. Attentive, professional, and the highlight of the experience. The menu font is quite small, which makes it difficult to read in the dim lighting. And the payment terminal comes with a tip percentage already selected -- that always feels a bit uncomfortable. I'm glad I checked it off my list, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return or recommend it strongly. It feels like Casa Vega survives mostly on nostalgia and reputation rather than today's execution.

Burritos El Chavo is an institution, that has rightfully earned its place with their loyal customers, and I, too, am one now. From the moment I walked in and was greeted, I knew it was going to be gooooood. If I see a chile relleno on a menu, my go to order will always be, without fail, a chile relleno burrito with refried beans and add onions and cilantro. I have had many, some great, some so so. When I tell you this was single-handedly THE BEST chile relleno burrito I have ever had, I say that with full chest. What makes it stand out more than others? The sauce and the beans. My friend's go to order is carnitas and the carne asada, and she cuts in half and eats one of each. I must say hers looked tempting, but I just don't know if I can ever switch, because that flavor is now a core memory. Please support Burritos El Chavo, your friendly neighborhood small business.

I don't even want to talk about his wife. Don't know her name and don't really care. She was very unpleasant, unprofessional, rude, mean, and disrespectful. I even told her. I got me a Carne Asada Burrito with shredded beef, onions, beans, tomato sauce, & cilantro. I also got their Horchata that tasted so bad. It was basically water, with a pinch of cinnamon in it. Food overall tasted less than mediocre. Horchata was $4.50, and add Guac. $2.50. Guac tasted bland and was missing the main ingredients in it. Like garlic, lemon juice, and other spices.. Chips was small, but decent. Had to ask for that too.Didn't come with the meal. Ambiance was dull, and boring. There were probably 4 people in there including myself. They don't do delivery nor do catering. However, you can pick up to go orders. I am being generous with the last star. Place was clean, food came out quick, and they had few parking spaces in the back. Not all restaurants have parking these days! No public restroom either. Will not be returning.
