I ordered: Breakfast Burrito with bacon and hash brown -- It was good and seasoned well (salt/pepper). Similar to a home cooked burrito. Small side of med-spice verde salsa - Great salsa. It's more so mild than medium spicy, which I prefer, so that worked out for me! Side of Guacamole -- Good balance of seasoning and flavor, but I didn't like that it was visually slightly brown. So, I'm pleasantly surprised that it did not taste like over ripped avocado. I wanted to order sweet, corn, tamales, but these were not available. Service: I ordered in person in the morning around 10:50 am. Service was as expected. There was only one employee working the whole restaurant, fortunately, there was not a long line of people ordering, so my food took about 20 minutes from the time I ordered. I've been here countless times and I really love the burritos and tacos. They have so so many options for food. I haven't tried everything yet. If you get a Chance, I would definitely check it out. The guacamole is so good too! I believe this is a family owned restaurant. I see the same ladies always there and the kids hanging out. It's a nice little place. I feel like it tucked away. I didn't notice it until I went to the liquor store in the same little plaza. I will definitely be coming back to try more items! They do have indoor seating but it's a small place. This place was just okay, I was getting my nails done in this plaza and needed to get a quick bite before. I NEVER care to spend on food regardless of how much it is, FOOD is FOOD. Customer service and quality of food is above the price. I came here and there was no one eating, so it was perfect for us. I ordered five tacos and a side of beans and rice. The total ended up being almost $23 dollars, I was so confused as to why is was so much if it was a little restaurant and all the menu prices per meals where $9-10. My friend pointed out there was the exact same meal for $10.99, I was shocked at the fact that the worker did not suggest one of those and when I told him he looked quite embarrassed. Usually restaurants suggest something that is a better deal. The food was over all okay, and the guy was nice after I didn't tip and saw that he was about to overcharge. I came in to eat at this establishment this morning. It was incredibly hot - when we asked if there was an AC, the woman said no, and didn't offer another solution. I'm glad I saw a small fan in the corner which i then had her turn on. As I'm sitting, waiting for my food, burning, i suddenly get very itchy on my leg, in 3 different spots. I immediately think its a mosquito, which i'm extremely allergic to - but my food comes and i still try to enjoy my meal because i'm hungry. Over the next few minutes my bites grow itchier and very swollen, like none i've had before. Then i look down and I actually see a mosquito on my leg biting me again!!! And i lose it, i run out, i say i can't eat here and i leave. If they had an AC unit, eating there would not only have been actually nice, but they wouldn't attract mosquitos !!! They need an AC unit, these bites are still swelling as i write this review. NO RESTAURANT should NOT have an AC. Tried this place for the first time tonight. I ordered pick up and the order was ready right on time and correctly. The restaurant is spacious, but intimate. Maybe 20 tables total. Quaint and probably family run. They welcomed me when I walked in. I ordered the shrimp burrito and it was stellar. Great combo of ingredients inside and delicious. The pupusa was satisfying but a little heavy so that fresh crunch from the cabbage slaw would have been perfect. I also ordered a beef soup called, caldo de res. I loved it! There are two facts here. This place was overpriced and we were underwhelmed. We ordered 3 burritos, all wet: 2 chicken (I requested specifically to make them as SPICY as they can), 1 carne. They were served with sour cream on the side and decent rice. I didn't think we would need salsa because they were all wet, so I asked for none. The beans were pureed to paste ... yet that would help for the arduous task ahead. We all came to the agreement that the wet burritos are not seasoned correctly nor does the 'wetness' help these meals' inherent dryness. The beans HAD to be mixed in because otherwise you would end up choking to get the burrito down. They even had Cilantro in them ... which is all you tasted when you came across a leaf of it ... We added salt to the beans and Tapatio and salsa, from our house, to these bricks to get some semblance of flavor... to no avail. This food was a lost cause. It was like eating wet Army MREs. I actually stopped in the middle of my burrito because I didn't want any more ... yet, I was still hungry. I've only been that confused several times in my life ... how do I have food that I paid for, yet not want to eat??? This was compounded by the fact that all three burrito meals came out to be $40, yet we were given one bag of chips with 14 chips in it (nope, not a typo ... 14 chips, we counted). I see now why they only gave us 14 chips ... we could barely get the burritos down, what would the chips do?? So, $40 ... for three burrito meals ... for slow take out Mexican ... basically, West Hollywood prices for food that tastes like bland Golden Corral ... yeah, won't be eating here again. There is no way that the other 'good' reviewers are reviewing this place; they may be talking about the other one on Lakersham that is also within 1 mile - not here. I believe some of the other 'good' reviews are based on laziness, availability and the ability to order online delivery. These reviews should review the food and not the fact that the delivery service delivered it to your door. Also, there were two people that said it was the best Mexican food they've ever eaten while they were walking out (like they were trying to convince everyone that was there) ... they either don't get out much or they're lying to help the place. I don't like liars because that is the reason I tried this nonsense in the first place. I hate putting in a bad review because the women who make the food are very nice. I placed an order with these guys through Eat24. The order went through. I called them 15 mins later to remind them to place salsa in my order. The guy I spoke to said ok. And then... They disappeared off the face of the earth. I tried calling their number and it said the voicemail box was not set up. Really? I finally decided to cancel the order and get a refund through Eat24. The delivery guy finally decided to show up after over 90 minutes of placing my order. I rejected the order at that point because Eat24 advised me to do so and because I already went out for fast food by then. I understand some deliveries can't be made quickly. But these guys disappeared off the face of the earth, and neither Eat24 nor I could contact them. That's completely unacceptable. Let's not beat around the issue, El Taco Loco is a hole in the wall, surrounded by three other resturaunts that serve an odd assortment of Italian, Korean and Doughnuts. With that being said, it is truly one of the best Mexican places I have ever had in California. The food is hot and ready, made to order. Their Carne Asada is a revelation, and the waitstaff is as kind and down to earth as they come. Prices are fantastic, and for a huge meal with a coke, the whole thing will cost you about 10 bucks. From the outside, it honestly looks a little scary. Trying to find parking in their cramped "6 availble parking spaces for 6 buisness all in the same corner" will leave you somewhat frustrated, but the quality of their food and decency of it's owners will leave you an addict.
