This meal was the best! As a family we had a chicken burrito, taco salad, and the crispy relleno.... and French fries. Everything (even the fries) were the absolute best! So flavorful, spicy (in a perfect way), and fresh. I can't say enough about the quality of the food. But..... the service! Fast, friendly, kind, and intuitive service. The entire team was working together to ensure the dining room was well cared for. I asked for "spicier" salsa, and received their medium and spicy salsa. Now, I like spicy- a lot. This restaurant reminds me of a small hobby turned into delicious original Mexican food. This food is the type that your AAbuela makes in her kitchen when you walk into her home. Loved the food! Came here on a recommendation and not disappointed. My benchmark for good Mexican are beans, rice, and Chile verde. I am so impressed. The rice was good not the typical box rice or dried out and flavorless- it was fluffy and flavorful. The beans were creamy and salted perfectly with a thin layer of cheese and the Chile verde was really good. A little spicy and the prom tender with no signs of fat chunks. I have written reviews about El Taapito before but this place is absolutely the best Mexican food in flagstaff, and maybe the best I've had ever. My go to is the chicken chimi with mole. It's a huge serving, for me and husband to share and take some home. (We're seniors, so you young hungry folks may not agree.) Great service, margaritas that have a kick. Stopped here for lunch on our way back home to California. Service was super friendly, they seated us right away. The food was very good very tasty authentic mexican good. My wife and I spent a long weekend in Flagstaff and saw this place on Yelp. The reviews looked good and let me tell you this place is legit. I had the enchilada trio and my wife had the carnitas. Absolutely amazing. We hiked the Grand Canyon and right after hiking we decided we wanted Mexican food so we drove all the way to flagstaff and came to this place. The staff is absolutely wonderful. The entire experience from A to Z was great. My buddy James and I both ordered different burritos and we were both in awe at how incredible they tasted and how full they were. We unfortunately could not finish the food because the Grand Canyon had kicked our butt that day and we were dying for some rest. So we got to go boxes and took the food to the hotel but boy the second I got to my hotel room I absolutely destroyed what I had left of my burrito. 10/10 and 5 beautiful Yelp stars. Arrived on Thursday afternoon around 4:15 PM and had second visit on Friday approximately 1:15 PM after visiting South Rim of the Grand Canyon. During the first visit, restaurant was about a third full but rapidly filled up for dinner. Second visit, restaurant was full but we were seated right away but did take a bit of time to receive for food. Staff and food were both excellent hence the reason for two visits back to back. Highly recommend this restaurant if you love Mexican food. Had the enchiladas trio (x2) and the chimichanga mole/chimichanga Colorado during the two visits. We sat at the bar and had a super friendly, awesome bartender! Super friendly staff overall. The skinny margarita was delish, we got jumbo and they're $15.50 each so not cheap. The food was just so so though. I had a hard shell taco and cheese enchilada. The taco was soggy so I ended up using chips and it was good. The cheese enchilada was pretty blah and dry. My husband got a fajita burrito and the meat and veggies were awesome! But the sauce he picked was terrible, sooo smoky. We took the leftovers, took the insides out and made a quesadilla the next day, delish!! So I think he would have loved it had he ordered a different sauce. read more

Great spot to grab a quick bite if you're passing thru town or looking for something that's fast without being takeout. Cute decor, good service. Only complaint was that I ordered the cheese dip app and it never came. The chips and salsa were plentiful and free though, so we didn't really need the queso. I had three tacos...the best was the adobada pork. To die for! My husband had the mole burrito and said it was good, but not the best he's ever had. We ordered takeout last night and the food was delicious - fish tacos were better than the seafood enchiladas. The side of guacamole was huge with big chunks of avocado and chopped tomatoes with a hint of lime. I might have considered giving 5 stars except for the alarming disregard for social distancing that we observed when picking up our order. Every table in the restaurant was full with a line out the door. Apparently no attempt to distance tables. I am not comfortable eating inside in person at any restaurant during COVID. I have been ordering takeout in order to support local businesses and satisfy my urge for restaurant meals. However I will not support this business again in the future as long as they disregard the health and safety of all diners and their employees. I usually order Mexican from Salsa Brava - not open for safety reasons- or Casa Duarte but since neither of those was open I decided to try El Tapatio. As I mentioned at the start of my review the food was worth it but did not meet my personal safety standards during COVID. read more

The service is absolutely amazing they are definitely on their game the chicken tacos are delicious margaritas are OK definitely a little water down but definitely worth the price that you pay.
