Taco Tuesday at El Torazo with our group of four: great company, good food, and really affordable prices. Definitely worth a stop in. My wife told me about this place as she and her friends see the signage for their Taco Tuesday when driving to our neighborhood nursery further down the street. Learnt later that many online folks recommend them for their happy hour, so made a conscious effort this Tuesday to come in the late afternoon for dine-in. Dedicated parking is sparse: one off street 5 minute spot for pickup and one 30 minute street spot right in front. You order and pay first, and the food will be delivered to the few dine-in booths towards the side...could imagine it gets busy deeper into the night. Our cashier was very patient, explaining the menu. They have Modelo and Coors Light on tap, and when I tried to order a pitcher, he suggested I just order 4 12 oz glasses...$1.65 each during Tuesday and Fridays...way less than what the pitcher would have been. All of us wanted American hard shell taco (corn tortilla stuffed with shredded beef, folded over and the whole thing deep fried) and topped with shredded lettuce and cheddar cheese. Ordered 10 of those at $2 a piece. Pickled carrots and onions were provided in individual sandwich bags, and our table was given both mild green and hot red salsas, which really elevated the tacos. The beef inside each taco was good, not really seasoned but that's what the salsa was for. Definitely better than the ground beef version at other places. Went slightly over the 30 minute parking limit, but nobody seemed to mind. Will remember this as a place to go for tacos on Tuesday and Fridays, especially if I want a beer with that.

Not sure what has happened to this restaurant, but it's pretty saddening. This used to be my favorite place to get Mexican takeout out. I came religiously 2 times a week. I've slowed down bc every single time I have ordered takeout out, my order is not complete. I can even type it in big bold letters in the special interruptions and still my delivery will come incomplete. That's kind of a bummer after working all day for 14 hours and just wanting to have a nice meal to come home to. An example of the areas of opportunities that I have experienced is as follows: My order is always missing sauces, limes, and sour cream I paid extra for. I'll add extras and asked to be charged extra and still it's missing all of my requests. Competition within the Mexican cuisine in Long Beach is VERY high. There are many places to choose from. Yet, your patrons are choosing you even after the last 3 take out orders they have had were not complete. If it's happening to me, and others from what it looks like with your yelp reviews, you're going to lose business. Taco Tues/fridays are awesome, but you need the full price sales to stay afloat. Please value the ones who pay full price weekly. Also, your app is not working. I have over 2k points that are now gone bc the app you promoted is disabled and not even showing your location so the points can be redeemed. That's kind of a scam for those of us who ordered from you to support you through the app and not the delivery services. I earned those points and was not given a time line as to the app date being disabled. I'm hoping this amended review will get to the right hands so the community can see a change and you succeed.

I have been coming to Long Beach for a while to visit my niece, but I never stopped at this little restaurant called El Torazo. It's on the corner of 10th St. and. And Temple Street and believe me authentic Mexican food you can get nowhere as good as here it's a little hole in the wall, but it's a beautiful place so if anybody's looking for good food, Mexican food, good salsa please come and enjoy the flavor theres not a lot of parking you might have to walk, but you know what worth the walk The service is amazing the morning people are the best.

Thought to have some menudo on Sunday morning and wanted to give El Torazo a try. They are on 10th and Temple. Not the greatest parking but you can usually find something. Looked at the restaurant and it said closed on the door and closed on one of the windows. I was about to to leave but tried the door and it was open. Go figure. Ordered the menudo and asked if I wanted everything inside. I said on the side, so they gave me a bunch of onions, lime, cilantro and chili flakes in some foil. They asked me what kind of tortillas and I asked for flour and they gave me about 5 small hot tortillas wrapped in foil. I was not impressed with the menudo. It did taste good, especially with all the condiments and dipping the tortilla into all the menudo goodness, but it had no hominy, just tripe. I was never asked if I wanted a pata (pig foot), but it was missing regardless. I also ordered a michelada and you get the option of beer, and got it with Modelo. Served in a big cup with tajin on the rim. It was very tasty. I think they need to work on their customer service and food preparation and options. Hopefully they work on that, until then , there are many other places to get a menudo in Long Beach, so I will give another place a try next time Im craving menudo.

One of my favorite places to eat yummy Mexican Food. Just wanted to share something that I thought was really cool.

Updating again. Still same issues. I called and talked to the male cashier and told him, please only 2 green salsas and lime. Nothing else. Still managed to mess it up with no green salsas but all red? ‍ Don't order online from them. Ralph's taco stand is where it's at. Periodt.

Got the mahi mahi burrito and a california burrito for takeout. Food was ready super fast and the staff here is nice, but the inside of the california burrito was cold. Like - ice cold. I warmed it up in a pan on the stove, but it's weird that none of the ingredients in the burrito were hot enough even though it was definitely cooked through.

Taco Tuesday AND Friday?? Yes, sign me up! We walked over and sat inside... thank goodness for ac on these humid hot days and nights. Many people stopping by to pick up orders, and a few dining in. There is a tiny bar that has a few high stools. Beer sold here! I ordered tacos. Duh... and they were pretty tasty. My favorite was the crispy potato taco. My monsters had burritos and they were well filled. The breaded fish tacos were fish sticks, won't be getting those again, but it's ok, there's plenty of options. Street parking. Dine in or out. Sells alcohol. Small outside patio.

The asada fries were horrible. The fries were not fresh and the chunks of meat was chewy. I love this place for the convenience of being close to my house but the inconsistency of the food will deter me to other establishments.

I stopped by to pick lunch to go yesterday and didn't know what to expect as it was my first time. I ordered a wet carnitas burrito and was delighted to discover it was wonderful and all the ingredients were fresh. The burrito was also generous in size and the sauce and salsa were excellent. I would highly recommend this place. read more

This cute little place has won a spot in my heart. Their taco Tuesday and Friday deal is awesome. Their American (soft) tacos are so yummy, but also their crispy tacos are just as tasty. My husband and I can't wait to go back, even willing to hop in the car and drive the few blocks here, time and time again! read more

We ordered through grub hub and for $20 we got a small chicken burrito which had super dry chicken, rice, and beans... I'm pretty sure that was it and two small tacos. The burrito was about 6" long and maybe 2" thick... and cost $8.99+. I called to say something and got excuse after excuse from the restaurant actually blaming grub hub! I was shocked. Their exact words were "our burritos are all one size and the prices you paid are actually higher than at the restaurant because grub hub sets the price" Further, this dry food didn't come with any salsa...and again the girl on the phone from the restaurant, blamed grub hub stating "it's up to the driver to grab the salsa!" Hey, it's your restaurant and Ultimately you are responsible for the guest expierence, not your delivery company. You need to do everything you can to ensure a great experience both at your restaurant and for delivery or eventually you will see it in your bottom line. Yikes! We won't be ordering from here. Now, my husband is driving to a different Mexican restaurant right now to get food we can actually eat. Super fail. read more

Wow! I was craving milanesa tonight so I ventured out of my usual delivery go-tos and I am so glad I did! Ordered a torta milanesa with no beans/jalapeño and my boyfriend got the Cubana torta. They followed my special directions perfectly and the taste far exceeded my expectations. I was just hoping for a decent torta to satisfy my milanesa need and I got so much more. Will definitely be back. Thank you so much for the amazing food! read more

Yelpers, I'm not getting it. This place has 4.5 stars. I had lunch there today as I was curious, drawn there by the promise of a 4.5 star experience, and geez, it was pretty weak. The only thing that kept is from being a 1 star adventure was the fresh salsa bar. Those were not bad. Had tacos- Al pastor, met expectations for flavor but, as did the other meats in my tacos, seemed to have spent hours in the steam table and just tasted less than fresh. The Carne asada taco was gristle and mystery cow. Just a nasty product, I had to spit it out. One word came to mind- Wacala! The Carnitas were decent, but could not rescue this meal. The tortillas wreaked of sour pH adjusters, like some crappy Maseca based stuff. I could not believe just how seriously mediocre this was. Even the diced onions and cilantro on the tacos was not really fresh tasting. I saw the cashier take a giant trash can full of chips to refill the bin that sits under the heat lamp in front and she spilled them all over the kitchen floor, she did not really seem to have much respect for their food. They don't even sell bottled water. Why does this place get 5 stars from people? where is the integrity? I'm scratching my head. Why do I bother? read more

Pig out Friday Night Sesh 2 carne asada tacos 2 al pastor tacos 1 lengua taco 1 fish taco 1 shrimp taco All for me. All for $10.04. I ate it all. The point of this review update is to urge you to order the shrimp tacos! I died. So good. They are not stingy with the shrimp too. Worth the $2. Better than LB Fish Grill down the street. Taco Tuesday= $1 & up tacos, 2.50 fish. Super competent staff that knows all, handles all, and keeps their cool even when faced with an endless stream of mindless, indecision and cluelessness. The little "patio" in back is cute if occasionally stifling. Somehow, even when it's packed we always find seating. Micheladas that will take your head off! I was so sad that I couldn't get Taco Tuesday with my friend anymore since our schedules conflicted this semester, but lo and behold...El Torazo comes to save the day with Taco Friday (while still offering it on Tuesday, btw)! El Torazo is small and kind of hidden away, but it has some damn tasty tacos. For the specials, most of them are $1, with the exception of lengua ($1.25) and shrimp/fish ($2). Say no more, you had me at $1 tacos. Their salsa bar is tiny, but it has all the good stuff, except no Cholula :( I tried carnitas, al pastor, lengua, and shrimp. For some reason, my friend got a crispy taco and immediately regretted it after trying a bite. Nope, legitimate Mexican tacos are the only way to go! All the tacos I got were really good, but I especially liked the lengua. Shrimp was good too, and worth the extra dollar. For under $6, I got to stuff myself silly with delicious tacos! The best place in Long Beach to get Tacos in a Taco Tuesday, hands down. This Mexican food joint is the bomb! Yes, they have Taco Tuesdays and Fridays as well; double the fun for a week. All of their tacos are so flavorful and their meats are tender/juicy. My parents, siblings, girlfriend, and I go to this place almost every Taco Tuesdays. This is one place that comes to my mind when it comes to get $1+ tacos. They have Micholada, too which is basically a beer cocktail margarita in a pitcher.. Yup a whole pitcher only for $6! They serve burgers, burritos, and brunch stuffs, too but I actually never ate here in a regular days. Overall, this place is solid! My peeps and I will continue to eat here til pigs fly and I personally recommend this joint! read more

Good spot for $1 tacos on Tuesday and Fridays. Staff is friendly and 4 different salsas to choose from. You may say no way, but there are 4 different kinds. Also there's somewhat of a patio but not open on the side. This place serves beer as well!!! Yup and the good mexican beers too. They also have Corona. read more

I love the food here.. HOWEVER they give the tiniest $2 guacamole ever. You know those small plastic cups restaurants set out for you to fill up for free with salsa?? Ya that's what you get for $2. I will not order that again, not worth the money for that size. read more

I ordered delivery from Yelp. The order was easy to place & pay. They were quick to acknowledge my order. I had the shrimp ceviche & carne asada plate. Small portion for the ceviche, I wouldn't order it again. There wasn't much shrimp, more tomatoes than anything. It was a little sweet like it was marinating in tomato juice. The carne asada plate was good, great portions. The guacamole is very good. I'll come back to try something else. read more

Very inconsistent. I get a egg and cheese breakfast burrito but I add potatoes and bell peppers and onions. Used to be my favorite burrito in town. But as of late the last 3/4 times I've ordered this the bell peppers and onions wouldn't be cooked thru all the way. One time the onions were straight raw. Idk if they got a new cook but it's very disappointing. Also for whatever reason they just don't seem to know how much those extra add ons should cost? Most the time they only charge me a little over 5$ for that burrito. But sometimes they will charge me 7$ and other times charge me almost 9$. Like I said VERY inconsistent. I don't know if I'll be coming back but if I do and the same things happen that will definitely be my last time. read more

First time customer at el Torazo here. Decent customer service but they are either bad listeners or illiterate because I ordered 3 asada tacos, 3 pastor tacos, and 3 chorrizo tacos but instead i got 5 asada tacos and 3 chorizo tacos. Obviously not what I ordered and on top of that, I saw two other guests get sat and received service plus their food before my order came out. 20 minutes for 9 tacos is incredulous and I will not be back. read more

So far my favorite taco spot in Long Beach! The tacos are good portions and super filling. I had the steak, carnitas, and shrimp. They had a lot of good flavor and came out amazing. Their salsa bar was stocked and had a variety of salsa to choose from. The interior was clean and cozy. Will definitely be back. Dollar tacos are a must here! Drinks look good too. read more

Ordered a carnitas burrito, and my spouse a burger combo + a beer. $18. + some change. Burrito and burger arrived cold, while fries were too hot to handle. Mister is a chef, so he told me exactly what happened: Cook over there prepared main dishes first then dropped the fries last. My man talked mess the whole time. Flavor was there, but temperature was off. We may try again. read more

Very dissatisfied with them!!! We ordered food for delivery. We called them asking why it was taking so long. They said waiting for driver. Another 25 minutes go by. I call them back, they say it's for pickup. No we ordered delivery. NEVER GOT THE FOOD!! Will NEVER order from them again!! read more

My 5-star rating is for the food quality! Their chile rellenos are probably the best I've ever had. Shrimp burritos are delicious too and they actually use cotija cheese. My only pet peeve is that sometimes they forget tortillas with the carne asada plate (when ordered through delivery), which can be a real bummer, I've had this happen more than once... but other than that I highly recommend this place. I've only had it through delivery and the quality is still so great. read more

Very good and affordable Mexican food. The real main event here though is their el bravo omelette. I've never had a more flavorful and delicious omelette in my life. Their hashbrowns are this delicious red color that I can't figure out what is in them but good Lord are they flavorful. The regular Mexican food is good I find the beans a bit bland but the rice is great, amazing pork tamales and really good enchiladas. I'm here atleast twice a week and have only had minimal issues with ordering and they are always happy and nice to fix any mistakes or unhappy orders. Always a pleasure read more

Best chicken tacos!! First time I ordered the Cali burrito and it was good, but I wanted to try the tacos. I ordered the Mexican chicken tacos and couldn't wait to order again this week and same result, they were delicious! Generous chicken, good prices, and when using DoorDash they honor special requests. I ordered the combo this time and the rice and beans were just as tasty! Will definitely order again...soon! read more

My co-workers and I were looking for a good Taco Tuesday that is around work and thanks to Yelp we were able to find this little gem of a place. We called ahead of time to put in our order as we were ordering quite a bit and didn't want to wait around for them to be prepared, the lady who answered the phone stated it will be ready in 10 minutes. The parking seems to be a bit of hassle because it is actually facing 10th street which I thought to be a pretty busy street and I happened to find parking right in front because someone was leaving which I happened to luck out. The 2nd I opened the door, I was greeted with a line as we came during the lunch hour rush but it moved fairly quickly. Once at the register, I informed the lady that I placed a phone order and she handed me the bag and took my cash and the transaction was complete. I noticed that in my bag, I was not given any salsa or chips but did notice that it's all self serve whether your eating there or not. They have a salsa bar that has red and green salsa, carrots and jalapenos with onions, my favorite salsa out of the two was definitely the red salsa. Once I got back to work, we sorted out our tacos, I ordered the carne asada, Al pastor & a chorizo taco and all I can say is they were all so good and if I had to pick out my favorite taco, I would definitely have to go with either the Chorizo or Al Pastor. The tacos are so full of flavor and not greasy like all other taco places I've had around town. We will definitely be a regular here for taco Tuesday's and I want to come back during the weekends to try some plates with a few beers. read more

Loved this place! Looked around for restaurants for Taco Tuesday and found El Torazo and thought it'd be a good place to try. Food: carne asada taco was so, so good with the spicy red salsa and a lime. It was only one dollar. Cannot beat that. I also tried the lengua and the potato taco and those were just as good! I will definitely be back on Tuesdays and Fridays. read more

Great tacos.. specials almost everyday of the week. $1 Tacos and beer on Tues AND FRIDAYS. A very pleasant little place, which is only a 4 minute walk from my house. :D Tacos include traditional street tacos, crispy tacos, and even "American" - a soft flour tortilla which comes with lettuce and cheese. All the traditional fillings... plus fish AND potato tacos! All made to order... yum!! read more

It broke my heart to find out that they do not serve lengua at all. They have a new lengua menu. I got a carne asada burrito instead, it was alright. But if you're coming for lengua it's a 0 star. The interior is cute, quaint, and slightly intimate--perfect for a relaxed dining experience. Another 10/10. Now, the food--fresh, flavorful, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. Every bite was satisfying. I especially appreciated the pacing: salad first, then warm bread, followed by the main dish. The timing was seamless--no delays, no wondering when the next course would arrive. I'll also add: I'm not a big pasta person. I only crave it occasionally, and when I do, it has to be really good. I'm so glad I chose Due Fiori to satisfy that craving because the pasta was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back.

I believe they have you tip at the counter when ordering food before any service is given or before you're even sat is given which isn't my preference. The other issues was that the table was so small, and the food wasn't coursed out right, the table quickly became over crowded and the servers sort of just drop it whenever without prepping more space beforehand, I felt rushed to box food I wasn't finished with to make room for another incoming dish. The backyard seating is quaint, overall homey vibe. Pizza was just OK, the Cacio e Pepe was good as well as the bread service. Would come again, but my expectations will be just a little lowered for next time.

I question whether the place was conforming to occupancy requirements. As for the pizza. I ordered a 18" pepperoni, with sausage, mushrooms, and black olives. Mooney's pizza stood up to it reputation. I found it delicious. The tomato sauce, while a bit sparse IMO, was a little spicy which I liked a lot. Eating in at a pizza place is always better than take out as the cardboard box gets steamed up and the pizza can get rubbery and lose its crispness. That aside, the portions were huge and we had lots of leftovers. I reheated a piece on the rack of my little Emeril LaGazzi oven the next day (on Air Fry) for a few minutes and it was crisp and yummy.

Living in Lakewood, there's not that great of a selection of GREAT Mexican food. I love El Torazo for their Taco Tuesday (AND FRIDAY) ! Great prices, taste, and quality. I usually order the carne asada, potato taco, and al pastor. All of meats are high quality, great tasting, and flavorful. The taco comes on a warm tortilla with onions and cilantro. The salsa bar is always on point. Be careful though!!! Some of the salsas are too spicy for my taste. I usually use the green one! I wish they still had a wet burrito, it's really good (in a bang for a buck sense)... Their tacos are on point and I love their salsa verde...MMmm I recommend shrimp, mushroom, fish, lengua, and steaks are pretty good too! Yeah they're all above the average price point (that is, they are around $2 which is still a good deal), because these are American style tacos. But Mexican style is pretty good too! Best things to get here are the crispy chicken tacos and the delicious micheladas! Don't think the crispy chicken tacos are the kind you'd get at taco bell, these things are the real deal! I'm pretty picky when it comes to micheladas, and these guys sure do know how to make them!
