I've never been here before but have driven by and also seen talks about it on social media. It smelled really good when I walked in! I came for a breakfast burrito... The price was great at only $7.50. A good size too. It came with my favorite breakfast burrito filling: eggs, cheese, potatoes and a meat; I chose bacon. Overall, the burrito was ok. I've had much better. The bacon was on the soft, undercooked side. I prefer more cooked/crispy. It seemed to lack cheese too. I got mild salsa to put on it which was good. I may or may not get another breakfast burrito here, if so, I'll definitely get a different meat. Overall I'd give it a 2.5-3. The girl taking my order was nice. They have some fantastic deals (see my photos) and Taco Tuesday (and Friday!) that I will be back for. Note: when I came today (7/16/26) it was cash only and I noticed that Apple Pay was down. Few of my colleagues love this place and have been going there for years. Recently for some reason another few of us decided to give it a try and one of those occasions, they dragged me with them. Their main drawn to this place was the Taco Tuesday/Friday, where I believe each crispy taco is like $1.75 or at least, under $2, which is like, you can't really find that anywhere nowadays, let alone in DTLB!!! I'm on my healthy journey so I didn't get any crispy tacos but I did get a taco salad with chicken and it was huge and pretty good. I noticed AFTER I ordered that they have a section for healthy option too so I must order from that next time I come back with my colleagues. Everyone loved their tacos, and I enjoyed my taco salad. Was looking for a taco Tuesday spot that won't drain our pockets and found this place. When we got there, there was only one person inside. So customer service was quick. They only accept Zelle and cash at the moment. We went for their taco Tuesday menu, tacos were about 1.75 per taco. Really good Taco Tuesday specials, with a variety of meats and generous sizes. Haven't been back for a while, with a not so great experience with their carnitas and their inconsistent food. But got a notice in the mail that this location had applied for a liquor license, which put it back on my radar for a Tuesday afternoon visit. Some things have changed: - looks like they will have beer on the menu very soon, even draft maybe. - they have increased the type of tacos for their taco tuesday specials, with the standard mexican style, but now also gringo-style flour tortilla with lettuce and cheese, AND crispy (dorado) tacos where they fill up a corn tortilla with a protein and then deep fry the whole thing. They then stuff it with shredded lettuce and cheese. - more types of protein including shredded beef and chicken for their crispy tacos. - they now have birria on the menu. The $1.75 taco special continues to apply all-day tuesday AND fridays, with grilled fish being added on Wednesday. The grilled fish taco is skippable, but the shredded beef dorado is a steal for $1.75, and is quite tasty (especially with the accompanying salsa bar where you can dress it up any which way). read more

If I'm eating Mexican fare, I want it authentic, not some Americanized chain. So when I saw local workers lining up in Leo's, I knew I had to try it. The restaurant is clean and pleasantly dated, with a heavy wood counter, wood chairs and tables. The service is immediate and friendly. I was craving nachos, so I got an order with Carne asada. I've never had nachos this good. The chips and guacamole are made in house, and they're amazing. My dish had beans, peppers, onion, sour cream and plenty of tender Carne asada. The portion was huge! There is also a nice salsa bar with fresh, house-made salsas, onion, carrot, jalapeño, cilantro and limes. Everything you need to make awesome nachos out of this world! These use to be really really good. I have been eating at this place since moving to Long Beach in 2020 since I live 2 blocks from them. And the chicken crispy taco is/was my favorite. They aren't even crispy anymore. They fall apart and the meat isn't juicy like before. They taste old like they have them pre-cooked and sitting around waiting to be ordered. Checked out this spot after seeing their banner for $6.50 burritos. I was unsure if they were still going to be serving burritos because I arrived after 10 AM. But they do, they're just $10.50 instead. Ordered the machaca burrito which was delicious and very flavorful. It hit the spot as far as breakfast burritos are concerned. On the other hand, we also ordered the bacon burrito. The bacon burrito was not very flavorful and needed some salt and pepper or something. They didn't have coffee at the time I arrived. I asked for orange juice instead but they only had orange blast, but that wasn't the best tasting. They have an outdoor seating area that has tables and umbrellas. So we sat outside, since I brought my dog with me. The server was attentive. She also helped me take my drinks out when our food arrived. 3 stars because the cashier was a sweet lady and the carnitas and Al Pastor soft tacos weren't too shabby. The Asada taco tasted very funky. I took one bite and threw it away. It was not edible. It's our go to bec it's right around the corner and fast, but our to go orders are usually wrong. The meats aren't as fresh tasting as the Leo's downtown. The staff are not that friendly here as they are in downtown. The place is very cute though compared to downtown. If this is for the Leo's Mexican Restaurant on Inglewood Avenue in Lawndale, it's been closed for almost a year. We've eaten there for 40 years. Nothing fancy but it offered prepared to order basic Mexican food at a reasonable price. Family run, It was our go-to place to take visiting family and friends. The space is still vacant so maybe the family still owns the property. I think Covid really hit their business hard though they tried to fight back with takeout and patio options. read more

I really love getting the breakfast burrito at this location and the downtown. I decided to try the tacos and what a disappointment. The meat was so dry it crumbled in my mouth. The chicken was so bland, I thought drowning it in salsa might help moisten the meat. The only flavor that came from this taco were the onions. They weren't even busy. Tip: Before 10 am M-F, you can order any type of breakfast burrito and pay only $5.50 (that includes meat-heavy options). That's the deal that drew me in this morning. I never get here on time, so I was ecstatic to try their infamous burritos. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I ordered a simple chicken, egg, and cheese burrito to go. When I arrived home and unwrapped my meal, I discovered there was zero chicken inside. Whomp! The problem was rectified quickly, as the kind server I spoke to offered to give me a new burrito the same day. I went back to get the correct burrito a few hours later and was delighted to see there was chicken AND potato inside this time. The unfortunate issue is that both burritos lacked flavor. I couldn't taste much seasoning beyond simple salt and pepper. They weren't terrible, they were just quite bland. The service is absolutely terrible ! This was my 2nd bad encounter , the 1st time i let it slide figured the young lady was having a bad day but today tied the knot. Its Sunday 7/30/23 I called to place a pick up order @ 6:33 & the guy who answered seemed very rushed and i just genuinely felt like he wanted to hurry up & hang up the phone. I live just a few blocks down & got there within 10 minutes - it was dead only one other customer there also picking up a to go order. I gave a specific order 4 asada tacos , 6 chicken tacos & a plain asada burrito ( only wanted meat rice & beans ) i specifically said it twice to make sure . I then confirmed with him as i was paying that the burrito was plain he said yes that's your order right as he pointed to the payment kiosk .. ( Very rude again ) My order came out to 42$ - no problem . As he handed me the food on the counter i checked it in front of him ( my orders are usually wrong ) as he watched me and everything looked right. I walk back home and cut into the burrito that has pico , cheese & who knows what else. Also a big glump of sour cream & guacamole which i specifically said probably about 3 times that i did NOT want any of those toppings. So i call back & ask who i was speaking to ' to confront him of the issue and his response was " a cashier " . So unfortunately i dont know his name but he needs to pay attention when taking orders - as we are customers paying for a certain item, also get your team some training on etiquette and hospitality.
