Cold sliced cheese. Diced tomatoes, and cold lettuce. Great crispy hard shell. I ordered the 3 for 7.99 deal. The other thing missing for me was sour cream. I will be sure to add that next time. I'll start with the menudo. Unfortunately, it was really bad. The meat was extremely chewy, hard to eat, and didn't seem fully cooked. That was very disappointing. Also the tortillas Instead of being warmed on a griddle, the tortillas were clearly microwaved. They were warm, but they tasted stale. Heating tortillas properly doesn't take much effort, so this was disappointing. The junior burrito was another letdown I understand it's a "junior" size, so I wasn't expecting a full burrito, but this was more like a taco. I even uploaded a picture you be the judge. It's a small little place, i think the kitchen is bigger than the eating area but what it lacks in size it packs in flavors and authenticity. My daughter and I wanted to try a new place and we're glad we did because it's become one of our favorite spots for Mexican food. I've been coming to El Torero for at least 30+ years. This is my go to spot for Crispy Hard Tacos and I'm never disappointed. I've left several raving Yelp reviews in the past and I see they're no longer there. I've seen this place different owners throughout the years. Some good and some not so good. One thing that hasn't change though is their delicious hot sauce. My visit yesterday I ordered 2 Shredded Beef Hard Shell Tacos with Rice/Beans ($12.95) The Refried Beans didn't taste the same like I've had here over the years. Maybe they no longer use Lard.... They still make their own Tortilla Chips which I like with that delicious Hot Sauce. There's inside and outside seating and the tables always look cleaned. My review is based off of my delivery order: I ordered the pozole small, two tacos plate with all beans, and four taquitos plate plus a Lime jarritos. First off I woke up craving pozole, which is really the only thing that I actually wanted. (Out of stock but still completed the order) Under the tacos plate they show the fried ones with various meat cheese lettuce tomato. I guess it was a bit naive to think they'd fry up some carne asada but those crunchy tacos with the pozole is what I craved. Instead got two street tacos. Thinking I'd be able to get my Lime Jarritos to wash it down.... instead I was given tamarind, I don't even like tamarind. Now that that's over with, understand the order will go through despite canceled MAIN items and they will switch out drinks for what they see fit, I mean they could have atleast canceled the drink too cause the flavor was out of stock. We've been doing business here for 28 years & love the food! Unfortunately this will be the last time. All because of a simple mistake and rude employee. My wife placed our usual order of hard shelled chicken tacos with extra cheese. I picked up the order after practice, got home took a shower and settled down to eat. Unfortunately we got beef instead of chicken. No problem; it's happened before. Went back to get the correct order because we don't eat beef. I have nothing bad to say about this place at all we stopped to try it we must moved back to Corona and hadn't tried it before and let me tell you they are probably the best food I have had in a long time. The service is excellent the only thing i would say is the young lady didn't seem to be able to answer questions about the menu. The food is so flavorful and just warm and delicious: I will definitely be back over and over again. We got the hard tacos and the carne con chile. The few parking spots were empty when we arrived and this little mom and pop place was a little questionable but we needed some pozole and tacos pronto. My hangry face was fast approaching. Walked through the door and it was like a whole different place. Well maintained tables that didn't wobble. No rips in the chairs. Beverage cooler filled with an assortment of drinks. A clean clear menu with great prices and super friendly service. We waited for our order and it totally hit the spot. Pozole was so big we had to take half home. Tacos live up to the reputation. I was ordering online here a ton (3-4x per week) for months but something changed. Previously my orders were always perfect and I was stoked. Then it took a turn. My orders started arriving incorrect and the quality was much worse. The orders also took significantly longer. I ordered burritos often but started to notice a mildew odor on the paper wrapping the burritos. This happened several times. Then the fries started to have this awful greasy taste as well as an odor. I'm not sure what changed or if someone was trying to cut costs but I won't be ordering from here any more. WOW! I came here on a recommendation for the "best crunchy tacos" and they live up to the hype! I ordered a shredded beef taco and a potato taco with a side of guacamole. They came up as $3 each, which is a little pricey. The man who took my order was really friendly and the service was quick. It's a small place but they do have interior seating. The tacos were hot and fresh and loaded up with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and cheese! They came with sides of red salsa, which was delicious. The guacamole isn't true guacamole like you might expect; it's a thinner pourable style. It is creamy and seems like it probably has dairy in it (I'm not positive though). All in all I really liked my food and told my coworkers about this place! My only gripes right now: they open at 9am, but they serve breakfast, so I'm sitting here writing this review at almost 8:30am and hungry for a breakfast burrito but have to wait. Very disappointed with today's service. I come to this place at least twice a week because I love their tacos and taquitos deals but recently, they went up heavily in price and stopped serving them with tomatos and onions. The taquito order is priced at $6.99 for 5 small taquitos. The owner took our order today and wanted to charge us an extra full dollar for each individual taquito to add onions and tomatos. He wanted to charge us extra for no good reason at all. When we asked him why they stopped serving with tomatos and onions he said " i have customers right now" and hung up on us! Ok first of let me say by far the best crispy tacos for Taco Tuesday ever! 3 tacos for $6.99 on Tuesdays and Fridays. Their salsa is so good too. We also tried their cheeseburgers and omg the best burgers in Corona honestly! So much good flavor in the meat. The fries are your crinkly cut fries which were nice and fresh and crisp. The prices are very reasonable. It's a little hole in the wall place tucked behind the shady motel and del taco. Do yourself a favor and try the shredded chicken tacos. I noticed a lot of people picking up their orders so if you don't want to wait then just call and say to go. They make everything fresh so you will wait but the food is so worth it. First time coming here and had a great experience. Ordered their 4 hard shell tacos (2 ground beef and 2 shredded beef) and both were quite tasty. I especially like the ground beef because it was seasoned well and quite tasty. I also got their whipped orange Agua Fresca and with a refill it was a great deal. Their tacos taste just like Tito's in LA so I'm glad I found this hidden gem here Corona. Staff here is super friendly. Indoor dining areas are very clean and spotless.
