I loved this little hole-in-the-wall spot! My new favorite for sure. We ordered a Jr Classic asada burrito (which was small but then I was able to eat some of my husband's nachos too). So good! The meat was flavorful and the chips were fresh. Both the burrito and nachos filled us up. The nachos come with the wet ingredients on the side so they don't get soggy. Those little attentions to details I love. Their salsa on the side has some kick but delicious. Complemented the burrito and nachos. I was so hungry I didn't get food pics. Oops! The restaurant was clean, inviting and the decor is cute with painted murals. The gentleman that took my order was very polite and attentive. I'll be back for sure.

It's a small little place, i think the kitchen is bigger than the eating area but what it lacks in size it packs in flavors and authenticity. My daughter and I wanted to try a new place and we're glad we did because it's become one of our favorite spots for Mexican food. We liked the Quesabirria so much she wanted it for her birthday dinner. So i placed the order and provided pickup date and time. We showed up at the time and the food was hot and ready. Came with all the fixing like onions and cilantro, salsa, tortilla chips. She is ecstatic about it and i want to thank the owner for providing my daughter with a memorable 16th birthday dinner

I've been coming to El Torero for at least 30+ years. This is my go to spot for Crispy Hard Tacos and I'm never disappointed. I've left several raving Yelp reviews in the past and I see they're no longer there. I've seen this place different owners throughout the years. Some good and some not so good. One thing that hasn't change though is their delicious hot sauce. My visit yesterday I ordered 2 Shredded Beef Hard Shell Tacos with Rice/Beans ($12.95) The Refried Beans didn't taste the same like I've had here over the years. Maybe they no longer use Lard.... They still make their own Tortilla Chips which I like with that delicious Hot Sauce. There's inside and outside seating and the tables always look cleaned. If you're looking for some good Mexican Food come here for sure.

My review is based off of my delivery order: I ordered the pozole small, two tacos plate with all beans, and four taquitos plate plus a Lime jarritos. First off I woke up craving pozole, which is really the only thing that I actually wanted. (Out of stock but still completed the order) Under the tacos plate they show the fried ones with various meat cheese lettuce tomato. I guess it was a bit naive to think they'd fry up some carne asada but those crunchy tacos with the pozole is what I craved. Instead got two street tacos. Thinking I'd be able to get my Lime Jarritos to wash it down.... instead I was given tamarind, I don't even like tamarind. Now that that's over with, understand the order will go through despite canceled MAIN items and they will switch out drinks for what they see fit, I mean they could have atleast canceled the drink too cause the flavor was out of stock. Only ate the tacos, not bad. Good spicy salsa on the side, beans were cool.

I'll start with the menudo. Unfortunately, it was really bad. The meat was extremely chewy, hard to eat, and didn't seem fully cooked. That was very disappointing. Also the tortillas Instead of being warmed on a griddle, the tortillas were clearly microwaved. They were warm, but they tasted stale. Heating tortillas properly doesn't take much effort, so this was disappointing. The junior burrito was another letdown I understand it's a "junior" size, so I wasn't expecting a full burrito, but this was more like a taco. I even uploaded a picture you be the judge. My kid ate it in two bites. Paying $8 for something that small feels misleading. To be fair, my child did say the burrito tasted good. Service was good.

Chorizo breakfast burrito, chips and guacamole

Please ignore the negative reviews- yall sound like a bunch of Karen's ! Lol. No for real though, this was my first time here and the food is absolutely to die for. Chips are fresh and crunchy, the guacamole is INSANEEELY delicious the best ever- creamy and just a teeny kick of spice! For 7$ you get a huge boatload of chips and guac -i giggled cuz I couldn't believe how much you get for that price! Food came out fast too, and was cooked fresh to order. I got the chorizo breakfast burrito and could only eat half of it because of how loaded and thick it was! The cheese pull after taking a bite 10/10 and I believe they grilled the outside of the burrito so it was that nice toasted outside. Flavorful to the point I was almost done eating and realized I forgot to get salsa- it's so perfect on its own you don't even need it (though my husband said it's to die for) give them a try!! We will gladly drive up from Anaheim again just to get el torero!! (:

Rude worker who lied about the owners phone number. Got my order wrong and refused to correct it!

We've been doing business here for 28 years & love the food! Unfortunately this will be the last time. All because of a simple mistake and rude employee. My wife placed our usual order of hard shelled chicken tacos with extra cheese. I picked up the order after practice, got home took a shower and settled down to eat. Unfortunately we got beef instead of chicken. No problem; it's happened before. Went back to get the correct order because we don't eat beef. This guy checked the order and insisted my wife ordered beef! He was rude and refused to correct it. I asked if he was the owner & he said no & the owner wasn't home! He said he didn't know her phone number and refused to give his name! All over an about $10 bucks! Ok, sadly we won't be able to support this business anymore over this guy!

Tiny burrito they charge $12 for

Paid $12 for a burrito that would be $4 anywhere else... Tiny little thing. We'll never be back.

I ordered pineapple drink but they gave me watered down pineapple, taste like water! Also the chorizo is salty!!

I ordered thru DoorDash. Tried calling back the restaurant but no one is answering. This place is crap! They gave me watered down pineapple and salty chorizo. The Al pastor was really dry. Not buying to this place again.

We made a girlfriend's birthday brunch for a group of 7 at El Torito in Corona the server Diana was attentive to our group brought our food & drinks out fast and fresh. Making sure our group was taken care of. The manager Javier introduced himself and was helpful letting us know of restaurant specials and events coming up. Will definitely be going back.

Camarones, Mojo de Ajo style, no head, no shell. The shrimp were nice sized, but obviously overcooked. Mr B said that a couple even tasted old as well. Too bad. On the other hand, the sides, beans and rice, were sensational. Done beautifully, with very rich flavors, I would come here just for those two items. My garlic shrimp burrito was filled with smaller sized shrimp than his, their awesome rice, some fresh salsa, and a pink dressing (?). The shrimp tasted fine, not overcooked, but not overly garlicky. And usually I dislike rice in my burritos, but this combination was an exception, a real winner. I recall having an amazing carnitas here on past visits that I really must revisit. Hmmm. This is beginning to sound like a carnitas nacho plate would be the right thing to do. The interior is very attractive with their colorful and vibrant murals. Great World Cup soccer playing on their TV. The server was absolutely attentive. A good little place worth s return visit.

The asada was good, but it was not my favorite. I have a thing with chewy fatty pieces and I understand it is common in lower quality cuts of flap meat. This asada had quite a few pieces I had to spit out because it was just too chewy. The refried beans were good, also not my favorite though. The quesadilla was good, I liked the grilled cheese cooked prior to folding it into the tortilla with the meat. Nice touch. That grilled cheese makes a huge difference. The next 3 taco plate had pastor, asada, and shrimp (except they actually gave me fish instead). At least my girlfriend enjoyed the fish taco as well.
