First time coming here and had a great experience. Ordered their 4 hard shell tacos (2 ground beef and 2 shredded beef) and both were quite tasty. I especially like the ground beef because it was seasoned well and quite tasty. I also got their whipped orange Agua Fresca and with a refill it was a great deal. Their tacos taste just like Tito's in LA so I'm glad I found this hidden gem here Corona. Staff here is super friendly. Indoor dining areas are very clean and spotless. Even their outdoor restroom is clean. Definitely a great experience here. Will be back here during the week days to enjoy their other deals. read more

I was ordering online here a ton (3-4x per week) for months but something changed. Previously my orders were always perfect and I was stoked. Then it took a turn. My orders started arriving incorrect and the quality was much worse. The orders also took significantly longer. I ordered burritos often but started to notice a mildew odor on the paper wrapping the burritos. This happened several times. Then the fries started to have this awful greasy taste as well as an odor. I'm not sure what changed or if someone was trying to cut costs but I won't be ordering from here any more. Very disappointed with today's service. I come to this place at least twice a week because I love their tacos and taquitos deals but recently, they went up heavily in price and stopped serving them with tomatos and onions. The taquito order is priced at $6.99 for 5 small taquitos. The owner took our order today and wanted to charge us an extra full dollar for each individual taquito to add onions and tomatos. He wanted to charge us extra for no good reason at all. When we asked him why they stopped serving with tomatos and onions he said " i have customers right now" and hung up on us! But tonight I was intentionally ignored when picking up an order for DoorDash, The lady was so rude, she was putting coins in the drawer and counting money while my food sat on counter ready. I asked her if I could please have the food, she walked over and looked at it and proceeded to the back where where she then filled up 8 salsa bottles as slow as possible knowing my food was still sitting there, then she proceeded to put lids on all the bottles still not packaging my order, I wanted 10 min to make zero money!! We get paid barely anything to deliver, time is money and this lady is straight rude!!! I canceled the pickup, let the food get cold and she can remake, I hope the nice owner guy who always helps me read this... this lady is horrible representing your place of business. Rather, I'm picking up a DoorDash or in there as a customer myself this lady is constantly rude. I believe a 5 star rating should be saved for the best of the best of the best. I did not feel that El Torero earned that level for my experience this time around. The food was ok and the service was what you would expect from a burrito stand. Not much to it. I decided to visit El Torero based on what was posted online and what I was craving. A menudo and tamale meal. Seems that this combo is hard to find in the Corona area where I now reside. In LA you could easily find a place that offered both. However, my experience has been that many places make menudo, it is the red pork tamales that becomes the issue. In Yelp and google I read that they offered tamales (later on to read they would be green pork, not my favorite). Upon arriving I did not see tamales on the menu. However I also read they offered green and not red so I didn't even ask. Just figured if they had them they would have them listed on the menu. I ordered a bowl of menudo and an order of beef taquitos. The menudo was okay. Nothing out of this world, just pretty basic stuff. However, it was a bit on the salty side. It was a decent serving with a good amount of tripe. I'm just not sure it was worth the price tag in quantity or quality. The taquitos seemed hand made and the guacamole was fairly decent. I did enjoy their hot sauce. It was tasty. Customer service went like this. You order, you sit down, they let you know your food is ready. You come up to get it. You eat, you put your plate on the trash can/shelf and you walk out. Not even a thanks for coming as you leave. The gentleman who served me was pretty flatlined and didn't seem very interested in either him or myself being there. As is the new norm, when paying you are asked for a tip which I usually do. In this case I don't feel they deserved it. I didn't experience any service outside of the basic requirements of the job. How about a smile, a farewell, or like other places I go to, you can just bring my food to the table to earn that tip or show appreciation. For what it is El Torero is ok. It was less than 10 minutes from my house so I might try it again knowing what to expect. Maybe give some of the other food a taste. I would not drive out of my way to visit though. Since we usually don't go out, we decided to get a bunch of food to try a little but of everything: Carne asada burrito #4: bean tostado and cheese enchilada 2 taco plate: carne asada and chicken with rice and bean Cheese quesadilla Chips and salsa Chips and guacamole Total was $56. Everything was really good! The kids devoured the cheese quesadilla and my husband loved the tacos and burrito. I got the #4 and it was really good. The enchilada had a red sauce on it and in it. The salsa is spicy and runny (not chunky) and the guacamole was runny (not chunky). Not my preference, but still had good flavor. Chips are super yummy and crunchy. Overall, I would come back. I've ordered from this place a few times through DoorDash, mainly their nachos and tacos. Today I decided to go in and try their Menudo and chile relleno. While eating my Menudo, I found several thick black hair pieces mixed in with the meat. I told the owners, but they were super rude and dismissive. I asked for a refund, got it, and was tossed a receipt without much explanation or apology. The owners are really disrespectful, and I wouldn't recommend eating here unless you're okay with hair in your food and bad service. To make it worse, I overheard the owner talking trash in Spanish (I understand Spanish) with her daughter. I will be avoiding this place from here on. read more

I've been a long time customer of El Torrero and have only ever had the tacos dorados specifically the shredded beef and the potato ones but they're some of the best tacos dorados that i've ever had. They constantly change their taco special days but currently they have taco Friday and it's worth a try. The tacos are fried so well and the shredded beef is tender and the potato tacos are seasoned perfectly. They're then layered lettuce, a lot of cheese, and tomatoes. The salsa they give you is super spicy but some of the best green salsa i've ever had. The employees are also so nice and accommodating to every request. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait but they take takeout orders over the phone! read more

Around the the restaurant was very clean. Outside of that the food severely lacking in case which you wouldn't think after looking at the photos just look at ours. With a BUNCH of Mexican food options in Corona, CA, why not try them all?! My first exploration is this little gem hidden on 3rd and Main St. right behind a gas station and a motel. They have a few seats outside in a shaded patio which was nice in this heat. Small parking lot, but there are many street parking options just in case. I was lucky to catch them on a day where they weren't too busy. I ordered the 2 taco plate with rice and beans. The beans were very cheesy (which is a good thing IMO), however I couldn't tell if they were canned or just overly re-fried. The beans were served with chips on top which was perfect for scooping. The rice was not mushy at all, a little more on the dry side, though, with the chips and beans it was a nice treat to scoop everything together for a faux-nacho. They also serve a little "salad," if you will, on the side that consisted of tomato and lettuce. Nothing fancy, but a nice touch for more substance. After eating the two tacos I was stuffed, so I set aside the rest of the side entrees for a burrito later :P On to the main course; the tacos. BOMB, DOT, COM. It's hard to find a good hard shell taco that has good shredded cheese, and I think I just did. The meat was shredded beef and not too dry. They have lettuce with cheese on top and some tomato. I took this back to my office and by the time I got here the cheese was a little melted (the best part). The shell was not overly fried and the ladies there seemed to do a great job at soaking up a lot of the oil used to fry the shells. I added the red salsa they gave me and it was a good combination. The salsa had a slight kick to it, but not enough to activate my acid reflux! I will definitely try this place again soon to explore their other options. read more
