Well, BAD news. I was so happy to see this El Torito back but now I will never return. A week ago we saw human feces in the planter right outside their front door. Dirty diapers, beer bottles and garbage in the parking lot. Told the hostess and manager "oh, we'll get right on that!" When we left, it was all still there. We returned last Saturday, 2/9/19, a full week later, the feces and diapers were STILL there. If they allow human waste to remain in their planters, bushes and parking lot, what must the kitchen look like? And what does this say about their cleanliness, or lack thereof? I know there are a lot of homeless in and around the area, we saw several. There is absolutely NO excuse for this. None. ------------------------------------------- It seems El Torito is back to their self service yummy buffet and I could not be more pleased! The staff is friendly, nice and helpful and the food is great as it was before. One of the best things about this El Torito is that there are NO KIDS allowed in the bar area. (BJ's is crawling with them, which is why I no longer go there.) Really glad they got rid of the nasty salad mean girl and her dirty bowl! Good job, guys! I'll keep coming back! read more

My husband and I decided to stop in for dinner as we normally love both this location and the Riverside location. The food and service were great, however on a Tuesday night we expected it to be somewhat quiet so we could enjoy our dinner and have a conversation. They had a DJ in the middle of the restaurant. The music was blaring so loud we had to communicate via texting the entire time we were there. I completely understand Friday and Saturday night, but 6:00 on a Tuesday is not what we expected. read more

I like this place's food quite a bit, but it is definitely not the place to go on a Friday night if you just want food and drinks. We got there at about 8:30 and there was still a half hour wait for a regular table. So we sat in the bar area which was more of a Mexican club. If you are looking for a hoping bar where you can dance to Mexican music with good food then this is the place for you. First time having el territory, from the moment we walked in staff was accommodating. We had our two young kids with us and were interested in happy hour items, they made an exception and allowed us to order these items without going to the bar. We to El Torito for lunch with a friend, and it could be because we went around 2 pm, but the service was terrible! They took our drink order right away, but after that the waitress didn't come back for 40 minutes. We tried to get her attention multiple times but she barely walked by us and didn't make eye contact when she did. My friend finally stopped her and told her we were ready to order and that finally got her attention. It's a bummer because the food was delicious! The complementary chips and salsa were great and could have kept eating them all afternoon. I ordered the cheese quesadilla which was extra good because it was cooked with Jalapeño infused oil. I really like El Torito but the service was so bad that it made the amazing food less enjoyable. read more

Dropped in for their $12.99 lunch buffet, but there were NO signs on any of the food to let you know what you are eating. This is not only a dietary nightmare, but against most city and county food laws. The manager told me they hadn't had signs for about 2 weeks as their was a new ownership and they were determining what to do...... Hmmm....How about taking a Black Sharpie and a few index cards and making temporary labels so we know whether we are eating beef, pork or chicken.....and so we know what is in the mystery soup?? So, instead I opted for the Macho Combo with a Mango Margarita.....Food was so-so, but the salsa for the chips was way tooooo HOT, as the Serrano seeds were included in it.... Taco was forgotten from my food platter, as was my margarita, that should have come first and not as a meal item. Also, I was over charged on my bill for the margarita.....Hmmm. I should have gone to the nearby Golden Coral for the same cost..... Was thinking about dropping in for Thanksgiving, until I found out it was $27.99 per person. Yikes.....Sizzler is offering their turkey breast dinner for half of that price. We usually eat at an El Torito when we are in So Cal because the food is usually outstanding. This trip we could have gone to any Mexican restaurant and gotten the same experience. I am not saying the food was bad it just wasn't as good what as I remember. Like most restaurants the menu has been cut back. I was pleased after not being here for a few years then covid hit. That my experience with my friends last night was fun!!! Our server STEPHANI was fantastic please let her know!!!! She had perfect service with a great attitude all night and we ordered tons of drinks shots and food!!!!My only issue was the lack of draft beer available only two choices and I remember the beer being super cold before. We went to the Sunday Buffet last Sunday. The food was just ehhhh. Same thing with the service. I was somewhat shocked at the price...$30 per person!?! I understand it's a Sunday Brunch, but for $30, I expected excellent food and excellent service. Sorry, but I would never go again and would never recommend it to anyone. What lured me to five 5 stars was our exceptional service we experienced with our server !!GEORGE!! He greeted us and sat us with rapid and professional service! What a giant disappointment. I've eaten at an El Toritos in the past in the northwest and expected the same level of service and food. Not so much. I won't drop names for bad service, but really...can't a guy get a drink refill? If your gonna drag your feet on getting reorders for the AYCE, is it too much trouble to refill the salsa and chips? Seriously the slowest inattentive service I have ever experienced. The Cadillac margarita was amazing and given the chance I'd have had a couple more...but my glass was empty 20 minutes before I was able to get a 2nd. The enchiladas (AYCE option on a Wednesday for 9.99) were o.k....beef was better then the chicken... I'll not be back, only in the area once a year and there are a couple great restaurants nearby worthy of my business. No Bueno. read more

I'm giving this place 4 stars not cuz I particularly think the food is awesome but b/c it has a good hangout vibe w/ great happy hour n football night deals on tacos, beers, n margaritas. (Tacos from $1.25-$1.50. Margaritas $3-$4 strawberry, coconut pineapple, mango, Midori...n the list goes on). My fav is the Midori blended w a lil shot of Midori n a bright green psychedelic glow. Not too into beer so go find out for yourself ;) They usually have three or four taco options at the taco bar- carne asada (my fav), chicken, n carnitas. Actually, the lunch buffet is really great at this place too! For about $10 u get salad, tacos n entrees like enchiladas n chile verde. Disappointed! ! I've always been to the riverside plaza El torito and never had one bad thing to say but my friend and I decided to come to this one since it's closer and we regretted it. We went yesterday for taco tues and we got bad service and sucky food. The waitress Cindy M was a joke!! We asked about the specials and she said she didn't look so she wasn't sure and she said she didn't know all the names becaause she wasn't "mexican" umm okay. What does that have to do with anything? My friend wanted the all you can eat buffet and instead she got the all u can eat tacos which she didn't want in the first place . Cindy didn't explain crap right and on top of that right after we left there my friend got the stomach flu. After this experience I would never go back to this El Torito!!! came here for happy hour with my boyfriend. the drinks did not disappoint! we ordered some appetizers and dessert which were delicious as well. The general manager even stopped by to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves and to make sure that we came back again very humble. The buffet offered a variety of food some traditional American breakfast to chilaquiles with rice and beans. First off this is one of my favorite restaurants period. I own a restaurant in downtown Riverside so I know good service when I see it. Been eating here for years it's always been grade A and consistent. But tonight I ordered delivery and door dash showed up with the wrong food. Honestly it wasn't that guys fault or El Toritos fault. The people he delivered to before us said that our food was there's, and bullied him into giving it to them. He was very sweet & apologetic, and we didn't want to get him into trouble, so we called el Torito to re order. We explained what happened to The manager Javier over the phone. When I got there to pay he said, no don't worry about it, was very pleasant and professional. He is a great manager and a good person. We love you El Torito! I've been to this location a few times. The food is decent. The service is okay, but could definitely use some improvement. We once had a server that was super attentive and asked us to do the survey on the receipt before we left and she would give us the discount on that meal. Of course we did it, but she was also a good server. Other times, the servers are ok, the last visit, the server was more like an android, robotically walking back and forth bringing things in a slow and methodical manner until it came time for the bill which took literally ten minutes after we finished eating! CRAZY! Anyway, the food is decent. I really love the chips and salsa. This is funny because the chips are thin and I usually like mine thick, but I find theirs tasty and love the salsa. At lunch they have a buffet. Always the same items, but fresh made tacos are available so that's good. It also includes salad, rice, beans, cheese enchiladas, pork chile verde, a beef dish, a chicken dish, and some condiments. Not extensive, but okay. My favorite thing to order is actually the flautas. It's not that the flautas themselves are all that, but the dipping sauces are YUM-O! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the jalapeno jelly and sometimes order it to dip other things in. Other than those items, I never order anything else, so that's the extent of my knowledge about the food except that it is not the highest quality food. Overall, okay food, okay service, okay ambiance. It's an okay restaurant. I've had better, but I've had worse. What can they do to get five stars? Again, as a chain restaurant, they won't get five stars out of me unless they changed their menu to something outside of the box. They could get four stars, though, just by improving services, altering the buffet occasionally so it's not always the same thing and upping the food quality. read more

I visited the El Torito in Corona for Sunday Brunch. The food was good. The service was a bit slow probably because it's packed and the restaurant is small and everyone gets in each other's way. The customers, the employees who take care of refilling the all the different stations for entrees, desserts etc; the waitresses, and other staff. So when going around the restaurant to fill your plate , you constantly have to give someone space to pass through or they do the same for you. Someone almost bumped my plate from me because there is little room to maneuver when serving yourself. They turned around from filling their plate and almost bumped into my arm carrying my plate. Restaurant is so small that they have the coffee, hot chocolate, and sweet bread right at the entrance of the restaurant by the front counter where the customers go to check in. They also get in your way to serve yourself. The decor of the place is too plain, it doesn't make me feel ok in a Mexican restaurant. In summary the food is good but could be better. The coffee was weak, the orange juice for the mimosas was wasn't sweet at all. The orange juice was kinda of plain , no sweetness at all. I wouldn't go back to El Torito in Corona for Sunday brunch. When you're in San Bernardino for work travels and everything around your hotel are chain restaurants... Well, you pick one of those chain restaurants and settle in for a mediocre meal. Since I was dining alone, I opted to sit at the bar. The bartender was nice, albeit inattentive (too busy chatting in Spanish to some regulars). I ordered a combo plate that had a beef taco and cheese enchilada. The taco was fine. The cheese enchilada was the worst enchilada I have ever had. The rice and beans were barely edible. The best thing was the free chips and salsa (which wasn't actually even that great) and the beer (which was beer you can get anywhere). read more
