I have probably driven by the Elderberry Inn a hundred times on my way to and from the Oregon coast. Well, curiosity finally got the best of me, so I decided to stop in. Ample seating both inside and outside in a dark cabin/lodge with a separate bar area...This place was a vibe! You can also spend the night in the inn or in your camper if you want. I pretty much had the place to myself when I arrived, so the service was great. I ordered the Bacon and Blue Cheese Burger with fries. The burger was amazing and tasted like it had been made on a bbq grill, perfectly cooked! The fries also came out nice and warm. I will definitely visit more often on the way back from the beach!

Thank you Heaven, Matilda and her family for being so kind and helpful during our visit. It wasnt under the best circumstances of why we were hanging out at Elderberry Inn but I cannot express how grateful we are for meeting this lovely family. Service was great! Heaven was our waitress and was very patient and helpful. We ordered club sandwich, french roast dip, chicken tenders, cheeseburger and their clam chowder. Food was good and made fresh to order. If you're ever passing through make sure you stop by and grab a bite.

Had the biscuits and gravy combo meal. Sausage patty was decent, eggs were spot on. However the gravy was not for me. Some may like it, just not my style. I like a traditional sausage gravy. My wife had the chili and the broasted chicken. She enjoyed her meal. She also had a margarita which she thoroughly enjoyed. Will be going back and trying more items. Service was good. It was pretty slow when we showed up but it seems like a place that could have a lot of fun in the bar area.

Yes highly recommended and great breakfast and it's huge to eat! Also nice place to eat and quiet with great view to see big foot and stores next store

Ham, scrambled eggs, tasty hash browns (but on the greasy side) and fabulous homemade biscuit.

Great breakfast spot! Huge homemade biscuits and they cut in half and grill it! Perfect scrambled eggs and nice slice of ham. OJ was good too!

I grew up in Portland so I would come here as a kid on beach trips. I just visited from NYC, and came here. I was coming just for the old fashion environment and expecting regular mid diner fair. I went once on the way to beach and twice in wya back( we staying at the inn) everything we got was delicious pulled pork..broasted chicken..corned beef hash. On top of that Everybody we encountered the servers, the new chef and management all so friendly and hospitable. The food quality was better than standard diner food. I wish I could go back soon!

    Special sandwich!

I had enough to eat 3 portions and the leftovers heated up surprisingly well. Their dinner salad was also large and the veggies were fresh. The only reason why this is not 5 stars is my husband asked for his steak medium rare but it was well done. We didn't complain tho so that's on us. I think if you stick to the simpler dishes it's fine for what it is (it's not a steakhouse). Portions were massive! Friendly and attentive service. We got our drinks refilled, checked on the appropriate amount of times, even a few jokes. We noticed all kinds of cool birds visiting the outdoors as we sat by the window.

Unless you're really hungry, this spot is a skip for me. The woman at the register really struggled to make change and I had to wait at the register for her to come and help me for a few minutes while they all just stood in the kitchen talking about school and stuff. It is fun to watch the birds at the feeders and walk around a little bit.

Come prepared with three things: cash, an appetite, and a little patience. They don't take reservations--you simply write your name on the waiting list and relax while you wait. Trust me, it's worth every minute. We waited about 25 minutes, and after eating here, we understood exactly why there's always a line. In fact, we loved it so much that we came back two mornings in a row! The warm marionberry scones, fresh from the oven, are absolutely unforgettable. They're easily twice the size of a traditional scone, making them perfect for sharing, and every bite is buttery, tender, and bursting with sweet marionberries. I ordered the mushroom and Tillamook cheddar omelet with breakfast potatoes, and it was outstanding. The mushrooms were perfectly sautéed, the Tillamook cheddar was rich, fresh, and flavorful, and the potatoes tasted like they had been prepared that very morning before being crisped to perfection when ordered. Every bite tasted homemade. Our waitress had customer service down to a science--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The restaurant itself is wonderfully cozy, with just a handful of tables upstairs and additional seating downstairs. That intimate atmosphere means your food arrives incredibly fast. Ours was piping hot and on the table within just a few minutes of ordering. One thing to know before you go--they're cash only. Honestly, I can appreciate that. In a busy tourist town where credit card fraud is an unfortunate reality, it's a simple system that clearly works well for them. If you're looking for an unforgettable breakfast, brunch, or lunch, The Lazy Susan absolutely belongs on your list. Just when we thought the experience couldn't get any better, our waitress casually asked if we'd like dessert. I laughed and said, "You have desserts?" She pointed to the homemade dessert menu, and we couldn't resist taking home a slice of the chocolate silk pie and the peanut butter pie AND Oh my heavens....Each was incredibly rich and velvety--almost like an indulgent cheesecake--with homemade flavor in every bite. They became the perfect mid-afternoon treat, and now I already have an excuse to come back because I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the dessert menu. Some restaurants are worth visiting... The Lazy Susan is worth planning your trip around!

Located near the end of a strip mall on Broadway on the Southeast side of the river, this tiny cafe and bakery serves up love and smiles. We were traveling with our two adult children who are on the autism spectrum. Our oldest is gluten free and our youngest, well he identifies as a bull moose and can be about as easy to wrangle. There were plenty of gluten free options for our oldest. Our server Zoe rocking the Wonder Woman tank was a super hero! The owner quickly tuned in to our family being on team quirky and made us feel welcome and at home. Everyone was so friendly! The food? Exceptional! This was our third breakfast out on our trip and the Chalkboard Cafe took the blue ribbon and it was not even close! My youngest had the biscuits and gravy, with a couple of eggs and a sausage patty. He's a charter member of the clean plate club and met the challenge. It was a generous portion. Our oldest had a half order of the B&G and was tempted to have one of the hot from the oven gluten free mini Marion berry pies that the owner proudly paraded around the dining room. Steaming from the oven this Marion berry pie tasted like the best of an Oregon summer. I was glad he shared a couple of bites. It was such a delight that we took a pie home for later! My wife and I shared the traditional eggs Benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached, and topped with a thick piece of ham grounded with their perfect English muffin. The Hollandaise was rich and creamy providing a wonderful coat on top of the egg. Their red potatoes were seasoned just right and were a compliment to the eggs Benedict as they would compliment most any savory breakfast. In addition to the pie we took home a couple their chocolate krinkle cookies which were not gluten free. That's the bad news. The good news is that we did not have to share them! They were heavenly! We get to Seaside at least once or twice a year and the Chalkboard Cafe will be part of our regular dining rotation while visiting. Thanks for the love and excellence! Great job and we are looking forward to our next visit!

Your lot was full, so we briefly parked on the street and were asked to move. That's fine, but it added time. We ended up standing in the parking lot to eat, and my husband had to give himself an insulin shot out there, which was honestly embarrassing. In your reply, you mentioned patio seating and coffee, but none of that was offered to us. I understand that others may have better visits, but this was our experience and I think it is fair to share it. We were really disappointed with our experience at Wanda's. Parking was difficult, and after parking once we were told to move. Inside a 45-minute wait, so we opted for grab and go. Unfortunately, all 3 pastries tasted stale. Then, when we tried to find a place to eat them, we were told we couldn't stay and ended up eating standing in parking lot. Between the parking hassle, long wait, stale food, and feeling unwelcome, it just wasn't the experience we'd hoped.
