I wanted to post about some work that Element did for us in Jan 2022. We had a crew come and replace the insulation in our home. What a difference! Our home needed an upgrade and we quoted with at least 5 companies. We went with Element b/c of other Yelp reviews and b/c we had the best feeling after meeting with them. They explained all our "options" but did not push us to do anything that we didn't want to do. They hit all key areas of value for me: - they were upfront and we felt the most honest of everyone we quoted with. - they were the right price when we compared with others - they didn't push us to do the work "right away." Other companies came out and offered a discount if we committed on the spot. I get it, they come out and quote, they want the work. We weren't ready so it was really hard to say yes to anyone that used this tactic. - when the crew came out, they taped up the house and were careful bringing out the old insulation. Once it was vacuumed and cleaned, they let me go up and look at their work (they also took photos) before they brought in the new insulation. Two months have passed. We feel the difference and the house is much more enjoyable when it is hot or cold outside. New insulation made a huge difference and we highly recommend you go with Element Solutions. read more

After getting several different estimates, I decided to go with Element not only because of price (they weren't the cheapest solution) but also professionalism. Eduardo did an AMAZING job walking me through the whole process and even went above and beyond to discuss some of my HVAC concerns. After talking to other companies, I noticed a couple of them participate in the PG&E or BayREN energy rebate programs. I asked Element and they participated too, so I opted to go with thicker insulation to qualify for the rebate. The crew showed up right on time. The crew of 7 people carefully prepared the house by covering everything in plastic and protecting furniture and walls with coverings. They went right to work cleaning out the old insulation, it was a little loud for about an hour when they were vacuuming the old insulation out (my AirPods masked most of the noise, and I was still able to take a couple of calls). After that, it took about 3 hours to complete the rest of the work. read more

Element Home Solutions came through again! My AC unit stopped blowing cold air. The fan was rotating but only room temperature air was coming through the vents. They were able to come the same day! Eduardo was amazing. He diagnosed the problem, replaced the capacitor, tested the AC unit and was done in about 30 mins. And most of that time was waiting to let the AC run to make sure it was functioning properly and cooling the house. I also want to give praise to Jerry (owner) who answered my call after hours yesterday and promised to have someone call me first thing in the morning. Jerry and his crew give top notch service. Just like the positive reviews, Mac and crew are fantastic. Always responsive, thorough, professional and take pride in doing things right. They go the extra steps to protect your house and flooring while doing the work and take their time to not rush it but do it right. This is the most important thing to us with an older house, it's so hard to find these days. I selected Element to do my attic insulation removal and clean-out after getting a new roof as part of an estimate on a number of HVAC upgrades. The attic clean-up was done really throughly and the wire guards put in to protect against rodents on all possible interior holes in addition to exterior which I wouldn't have thought of to do on the interior holes. With a 107 year old house, this was no small clean-up job! We had our knob and tube replaced in between and then they did just as good a job installing the new insulation. I'm not putting up pictures of the before, I'll leave that to your imagination, but here's some photos of the amazing cleaning job and then new insulation. We wanted to have air conditioning put in our home and called several different highly rated on yelp installers for estimates. Element was not the lowest (or the highest) but the gentleman who came out was super knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and explained everything thoroughly. He also recommended some other updates the other guys didn't (replacing certain vents to increase airflow and also replacing our very old (1980 original) heating unit). They were super fast to install and took care of everything. The final bill was exactly as was quoted. We did have a small issue where a part had to be replaced after the fact but it wasn't their fault and the owner/manager worked super hard to get the replacement part within just a couple of days. They did excellent work. When the city inspector came out to sign off on it, he called me down excitedly to ask who we used because he said he'd never seen such a perfect installation - something about how far things are supposed to be off the ground and some other thing that I didn't understand but he was legitimately giddy over. (I recognize this sounds completely over the top but I swear I'm not embellishing in the slightest). Bottom line - we had a blissfully cool summer and our heater is so much more efficient than the old one - our electric bills went from an average of $650 a month to an average of $350. Yes, even in the summer, our PG&E bill was *lower* than it had been before we had a/c. I highly recommend these guys. read more

Don't look anywhere else for your HVAC needs. When it comes to contractors, it can be very hit or miss, so I always source three quotes and interview the companies. From the initial estimate appointment, I knew this was the company that I wanted to work with to install my new furnace and AC Units. They were on time, respectful of my home and explained everything thoroughly. On top of all this the price was fair. I agreed to hire them and they started and finished on time. We had a simpler job, basically a repair on an existing AC unit. Ernest was incredibly responsive, thorough and technically astute. He ascertained exactly our needs without up-selling us. After consulting with Ernest though, we decided to expand the scope of work to replace our duct work, heater and AC. Based on my experience of the estimation, installation and the result, And I would like to give 5 stars for both the solution and the crew. This is a complex job as our previous system does not cover the second floor. Eduardo is very knowledgable and empathetic, who provided the best solution among all the HVAC companies we talked to. From estimate to prep... on-site work to cleanup, ELEMENT HOME SOLUTIONS delivered 100%. We needed new insulation in an attic that is adjacent to a carpeted rec room full of stuff. The room has a cream colored carpet and the attic space was filled with roof debris, chunky pieces of wood, nails, and old insulation. Jorge came to do an estimate for 500 feet of fiberglass insulation. He described the process of how the floors and carpet would be protected, the junk removed, and new installation would be installed. The price was mid- range compared to other estimates we received. Freddy and Efraim came the next week and delivered a job that was EXACTLY as described. They covered the carpet and floors with plastic and created a safe corridor in the house to remove debris. They had the appropriate protective gear for their crew. They were professional, courteous, efficient, detail oriented and thorough. The attic storage space was vacuumed out, the insulation was tethered and the area where they worked in was cleaned up 100%. They hauled the old batting and debris away. We decided to get heat for our house and began looking for a company to install. My wife got two recommendations from Yelp, we reached out to them and scheduled appointments and got our estimates. We decided to go with the company that seemed like they had more experience. Unfortunately, they were also the ones that were very bad at communicating. The person who came seemed more concerned with making sure we made our deposit than answering our questions. A few days later after making our displeasure clear yet nothing changed, we decided to go with Element Home Solutions and we are so happy we did. We replaced two furnaces, installed A/C, air purification, new ducts, new electric and cleaned out the old insulation in the attic replacing it with new. We had to reschedule the original install date because of Covid and we're promptly found a new, soon date to resume. Prompt appraisal, great options and Terrific service. We needed some asbestos abatement, a separate business. Element worked synchronously with them and were so efficient. The new air purification system is FANATASTIC. Along with my new furnace and very silent, efficient air conditioning systems, it was a big job. LOVE IT ALL! I wish I had been warned about the big holes left surrounding the duct work, but a handyman was also recommended to me, who came promptly and did a terrific job. Minimum for ANY work is $2000 so not someone you want to have in your list of furnace help. I have a plumber who does stuff like this. $800 for any job, then my other guy comes and fixes it for $150. Basically they don't want small jobs and so will never get our bigger jobs when they come along. I assume they have plenty of work but just keep in mind, these guys might rip you off money-wise. As a new mommy to be, you start thinking of all the things you should do to prepare for your new little one. I realized that, in six years, I hadn't ever had the air ducts cleaned in my home. So, Yelp to the rescue. After submitting a quote request to three Bay Area air duct cleaning vendors, Element Home Solutions was the first to respond - and within 10 minutes! Element Home Solutions was not only the fastest to respond to my quote, but also the most affordable and accommodating (they even offered to schedule an appointment to clean my air ducts the next day!)! Element Home Solutions arrived on time for my scheduled appointment two weeks later and started to explain the air duct cleaning process and pricing. Upon starting the standard duct cleaning process, the technician told me they ran into a problem. Three of my floor vent boots were rusted and even had holes in them - allowing heat to escape and provide warmth to my crawlspace and not my home! The technician quickly went into the crawlspace to fully diagnose the damage - concluding that nearly 50 feet of air duct piping and three boots would need to be replaced. Sigh! He showed me pictures to confirm just how bad it was so I knew I really had to take care of it soon. He called a few supply stores to confirm if they had the supplies he needed to do the work, and once confirmed - he was able to move some other work around and completed the air duct and boots replacement THE SAME DAY! Blessings! The technicians also managed to suck a bird's nest and lots of excess lint out of my external dryer vent! Improved efficiency all around! All the work was done quickly and efficiently. So grateful for the new air ducts, fair pricing and excellent customer service. Will definitely call Element Home Solutions when I'm ready to replace the attic insulation! I highly recommend you get a bid from Element for replacing your furnace. I did and am very pleased I chose Element. Cesar (aka Eduardo) arrived on time for a scheduled appointment to provide an estimate. He took the time to go into the crawl space through the existing small opening. I knew the opening was too small to haul out the old furnace and haul in the new one. He came up with the great suggestion to cut a new access door closer to where the furnace is located instead of enlarging the existing one. He also provided an estimate for a new furnace on the spot. He followed up to answer my questions. I chose Element over the other two quotes I received. On installation day, the crew of 8 arrived on time. They worked efficiently and neatly. The electrician arrived a bit later. He discussed potential options with me and also did an excellent job. Called to make an appointment. Their first availability was a week later. I made the appointment and took a pto day to be there. They cancelled the day of. 1 star for canceling, but plus 1 cause they did give me a heads up. Edit: they called back to say the supervisor could stop by from 12:30-1. I said I was busy then, which we had discussed when I made the original appointment for the 3-5pm window, they responded "ok, we're just trying to help you out cause we saw your note." Which I assume means this review. Oh, and he also mentioned they knew the tech was going to be out as early as yesterday--which was when they texted to confirm today's appointment. So taking back that extra star for the heads up because (1) if they had given me a heads up when they knew, I could have avoided taking a pto day; (2) they didn't care until I wrote this review; and (3) their attitude that they're "just trying to help me out." These guys are the most professional contractors I've worked with, not just in HVAC. Eduardo was willing to answer my large number of questions as we customized my order to install AC / Furnace / ducting in my 2k sq.ft. house. He helped me pick the right condenser that wouldn't be ugly in my backyard and when the day of install came he and his team were top notch. They had an army of 10 guys crush the job in 2 days and cleaned up their mess at the end of each day. I didn't get many competitive quotes but from what I saw and what I've heard from friend they give competitive pricing on gear and install. He convinced us to insulate the floor of our house as well and the results have been as remarkable as described! They did a great job installing a set of four or five ducts we'd previously removed due to asbestos, replacing some of the tape around our heater, and adding insulation. A one-day job. In the end it turned out I'd forgotten to talk about a special duct situation affecting one of our rooms that required a bit of extra work. Something they could have done the day of - had they known about it. Fortunately, although this piece was a really small job - too small for them to normally come out for - they came out and finished it. The whole process was good from beginning to end. read more
