The minuscule 6-8" of insulation that was once in my attic was ridden with rodent feces/urine, turning to dust, and wasn't as effective as it once was. This not only caused my home to have imbalanced heating/cooling, but also strained my HVAC system, making it work significantly harder than it otherwise would. Combine the lack of insulation with improper ventilation, and you set yourself up for a home that's not comfortable to live in, while in the process of taking precious dollars away from your pocket, all due to increased electric/gas bills. I called Energy Attic back in 2019 to see what they had to say about my attic, and they came out to do an energy audit. They filled me in on everything that was wrong, and what I could do to fix it. The estimate they provided was very insightful, breaking down the cost of every service, and allowing you as a homeowner to do what's best for your house and pocketbook. At the time I was unable to afford the job, so I decided to hold off on the project. Fast forward to early 2022, I gave them yet another call, and due to a mishap in getting the square footage of my home incorrect (was overestimated due to some vaulted ceilings), we decided to have them come back out to my house to give things a look. I spoke with their sales representative Mike for a decent amount of time, making sure I understood what was best. I shouldn't have taken anyone else's word, and I should have gotten the ladder and looked. When I texted the man who came here, I was told yes "no, it only includes over living space". The insulation over the living space is nicely done. I am very pleased with that. Just very irritated that, what I was told was going to happen, and included, turns out it's not.

The attic blanket can be bought at Home Depot and installed by almost any half competent person that's not afraid of attics. The vents can be bought online and are exactly the same. The radiant barrier paint is available for under 400 for 5 gallons. The financing options they offer are worse than using a credit card. If you have a local handyman he can install all this for less than half the price. That said the blanket has helped stop radiant heat and the power vents are helping keep the attic cool. The paint has been made by many different manufacturers over the years. Not sure about the probiotic spray thing. If you are good paying more for them doing it for you and buying you a cheap dinner then go for it.

I would understand as I am a licensed structural engineer. Before they were about to leave I had to remind them that I also paid for installing batt insulation, if I hadn't, they would have left. My request to the estimator of making sure not to add insulation over my exhaust vents were not communicated to the workers so I asked and they were not aware of this ask. They were nice and fixed the very apparent crack, but weeks later a second one formed nearby due to the worker initiated the cracking by compromising the ceiling gypsum. I did not ask for them to fix this because how I can prove it? No one has walked up there since but enough time has passed to leave doubt on how it was caused. I would not recommend them.

The ac system had been repaired the previous year with running and starting capacitors and freon refill and they said it would cost about half of what a new system would cost to repair, so we went with the new replacement. The removal and replacement of the hvac system was clean and neat and done promptly. Installation of the new hvac system was completed taking the one day. The install personell were courteous and friendly at all times. The second crew then checked the breaker box in the garage and found the metal strips that connect the circuit breakers to have been over heated at some point and would require replacement to be safe. After the replacement of the breaker box, my solar system was not working. Had the installer come back and check everything. He said the electrical system was all installed correctly, but he didn't know anything about the solar. Called the solar company and they can't come out until Monday the 3-23. All electrical systems in the house are working except the solar. Overall, I'm happy with the install and work completed, but dissapointed the the solar system in no longer functional until the solar company can come out. I only added the four stars because the solar system was working before they replaced the circuit breaker box.
