I got the Signature Milk Tea, medium, with golden boba (3.30 + .50 for boba) and it's decent, but nothing too extraordinary. It tastes like a milk tea but less sweet, which is just like any other boba tea shop. The golden boba is just a fancy name for regular boba with a golden color. If it was suppose to taste any different, I didn't taste it since the boba just soaks up the flavor of the milk tea. The boba was fully cooked throughout while the texture is chewy, which is great. The pricing here isn't competitive with other tea shops and they only accept cash for transactions below $5. It's located in a strip mall so parking is quite easy to find. read more

This was my first time trying Ding Tea! Whenever I go to boba places, I usually order their milk tea. This time, I decided to give the yokult/yogurt drink a try, just to see how it is! I ordered the Green Tea Yokult, and I don't know why... but it had a weird, bitter taste. Was it supposed to taste like that...? The only thing I did like was the golden boba, which was very sweet! Also, I didn't know yokult/yogurt drinks would come with a different cup. That's definitely something new! This place is definitely a hole in the wall because it's in a discreet shopping plaza on Bolsa. The great part is that it's next to the super cute Eiswalt Gelato and The Loop. Customer service is pretty solid and the atmosphere is very clean. The downside is that it's pretty small inside, like it can fit maybe 16 people okay? But, they also work very quickly to get drinks out. So far, I've had their signature milk tea and jasmine milk tea. Both had a strong tea taste and not overly sweet which is how I like it. Unfortunately, they put a little too much ice in the cup, almost halfway. But, my third drink, the brown sugar milk tea had minimal ice so I guess it depends on the person serving. Prices are decent, comparable to 7leaves. Will definitely come again. And their boba is good, chewy but fresh. read more

My usual Ding Tea was about to close for the night and this one was open till midnight so we decided to try this one and were unimpressed. They have a very cramped ordering station and the decor is quite bland, almost looks unfinished. The service wasn't friendly but it wasn't bad. We ordered one drink less sweet and one half sweet and both were still overly sugary compared to our other favorite ding tea locations. The teas were okay, didn't take that first sip and feel refreshed. I upgraded to a large after seeing how tiny their regular cups are but regretted it because my brown sugar milk tea wasn't too good and I didn't even finish my large. Service is extremely slow compared to Ding Tea Garden Grove and is still even slower than Ding Tea Westminster! It took 25min for two medium drinks, and it wasn't even that crowded. There was about 5 people working right behind the cashier too, so they can't blame "being understaffed" for their slowness here. My Jasmine Green Milk Tea was less sweet in comparison to how the others make it. The boba was harder too. What also bothered me was their cup sizes. I always go either no sugar or very less sweet and less ice. AMBIANCE// There are not that many tables in here. Crowds come in RUSHES. It is very loud in here and I would not recommend studying here. However​, if you are looking to sit with a few (NOT more than 3) people, this could be a good place. SERVICE // The service itself is just fine. It takes forever to get your drink out and the people who take your order look rushed, annoyed, and over it - and I am saying that as someone who has been the first customer of the day. In the heart of Westminster where there are tons of Tea Lounges, we decided to give this place a shot. It has a lot of options for tea and coffee as well. My sister kept telling me to try to Original Milk Tea here as she was raving about it. So I got that along with the golden boba. I had my sweetness down to 50% and very light ice for that. That's the good thing about Tea lounges like this where you can customize sweet and ice levels. The service is very good here as everyone is nice and have smiles on their faces. There is a little seating area inside as well. The tea was good but I do like much heavier and dense tea. I know Ding Tea is a franchise and that every location is independently owned/managed, so I was delighted to find one that has the cute rounded bottoms when you order their regular-sized drinks. I decided to come to this location after meeting up with a friend to catch up since it was near her house. It's her first time trying Ding Tea and my first time at that this particular location. Ding Tea Bolsa is located in a small plaza next to the Pagoda area where you can find the Loop. Bolsa is probably the boba central of Westminster. Within this street, you can find Snow Monster, Kung Fu Tea, Tea Zone, 3 Blossoms Cafe, Tebo Tebo (avoid), Tapioca Express, Bambu, etc. But despite the concentration of boba places, this Ding Tea location can certainly hold its own. There isn't much space at all. Maybe around 4-5 tables. Definitely not a good study spot. There isn't even much space for you to place your order and you have people lining outside the door. A minor inconvenience. But the interior is clean and it's still good place to chat one-on-one with a small group of people at their little round tables. We ordered their signature milk tea and jasmine milk tea with golden boba. I thought their signature milk tea at 75% sweetness was perfect. Not too sweet, so I can taste the tea flavor. But also not too bland or watery. The jasmine milk tea was very aromatic and floral without being bitter. The golden boba has that QQ quality consistent with other Ding Tea locations and is lightly sweetened. Next time, I'll ask for less ice. I felt that too much ice was getting in the way of me trying to finish eating the boba at the bottom. Overall: Our orders came out quick. But I get the feeling that this location isn't the type where you can stay for hours to get work done. I feel like it's more of a quick grab and go for drinks. The drinks are on point. But, if you're looking for more seating or a place to study, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. read more

My first time ever at Ding Tea. I didn't know what to get so I settled on the strawberry milk tea with egg pudding. My bf got the matcha and my cousin got the winter melon. At first mine was very sour and it taste like strawberry syrup and water. I tried the other two and they were delicious! I asked the cashier which was his favorite and he just gave me a blank stare. Hmm so I named off a few items and all he said was "ok" lol they gave us 3 thin straws and by the time we got to my car and sat down we realized that we had extra stuff and can't suck anything out without the big boba straw. So I had to walk back in to ask for the right straws. Ambiance was chill, had loud techno music playing. Pretty small inside with a capacity of 16 people. I guess I'm used to actual boba spots with more of a cream/yogurt base flavors like cookies and creams or something. It was pretty good! Would for sure be back and try other drinks. read more

The drinks are very consistent here. I always get either the Winter Melon Milk Tea OR the Signature Milk Tea. Either drink is a little on the sweet side, but that's how I like it, so I keep to the 'normal' sugar level - no modifications. The staff is always nice, sometimes a little hard to hear b/c it can get loud but overall, great service. They work VERY fast, so if you think you're waiting a long time, it's likely b/c they have a LOT of drinks to make, so be patient. read more

I haven't had Ding Tea in awhile and went to get some to see how it was. I'm a fan of kumquat tea, so I got their kumquat lemon tea. The kumquat taste was stronger than normal and more herbal-tasting than I remembered if you like that. I went to get their drinks about one hour and half before closing and they already ran out of their boba! The cashier told me they ran out of boba an hour before I arrived. I was disappointed to hear that they ran out of boba so soon when I specifically came to get boba in my drinks. This has probably become one of my favorite boba tea shops and if anyone loves boba, that's definitely me because I drink boba every single day. I love that the tea flavor is really strong here. I feel like I am actually paying for what I am getting here. You can adjust the ice and sugar level which is nice. In addition, there is the option of crystal boba. The golden boba is the honey boba here and according to the employees, the golden boba is a bit larger than the regular boba. If it's your first time here, I recommend trying out the signature milk tea. I got the large Peach Green Tea with slight sugar and ice with Aloe Vera. Their medium size is 16 oz and it looks TINY. Couldn't really taste the peach. So it was basically slightly sweet green tea. I usually go to the Ding Tea in Loma Linda and order the same thing, but at this location, it tasted way different. The place is pretty small so if there is a lot of people, it tends to get crowded. read more

I work right across the street from Ding Tea & i stopped by one day with the whole office during lunch i don't really like tea so i had to give it a try cause why not i ordered a taro MT and it is BOMB.com so i decide to go back today & ordered the "Strawberry Green Tea" & it is BOMB.com as well but the only thing is it can be a little too sweet so i just water it down no problem. Let me just say I'm not a big fan of TEA in general but this is so refreshing & has a bitz of strawberries in the drink which is nice i recommend if you don't like milk teas and want something more refreshing. Another tea place that originated in Taiwan and is now transplanted onto our shores. The menu has regular, flavored and milk teas, as well as juices and coffee. I'm a big fan of wintermelon tea, so I'm always on the lookout for new places that have it or different variants of it to add to my rotation. However, Ding Tea disappointed me with their offering. There are 2 variations of wintermelon tea here: wintermelon milk and wintermelon green tea. Most places brew actual wintermelon tea, but Ding Tea goes a different route by using wintermelon syrup. As a result, the distinct, unique and refreshing flavor of wintermelon gets lost if you opt to adjust the sweetness level. I got the wintermelon green tea, easy ice and half sweet. 1/4 of the way through the drink, I was unable to detect any wintermelon flavor. This is highly unusual because wintermelon has a very distinct taste that is almost impossible to miss. When I asked for more wintermelon because I don't taste any, I was accused of drinking half the cup and was given a hard time and it felt like they didn't want to honor my request. This is when I was informed they used a syrup and because I got half sweet, this affected the drink's taste. They were kind enough to offer me another drink at full sweetness, but even then, I still detected no wintermelon flavor. Annoyed, I took the new drink and made a mental note to not come back. The oolong milk tea is well made. There's a nice roasted, almost bitter taste to it, which are qualities of a good oolong tea, and this is balanced out nicely by the milk. They don't use traditional black boba here, as all their boba is white (they call it golden boba). The boba is prepared properly, with a nice chewy texture throughout. The service is okay, albeit a bit slow and standoffish. The decor is modern and tries to be hipster. There are plenty of areas for pictures to be taken to upload to your various social media platforms, but seating is limited. read more

This time, I asked for a lychee yakult, and I was told they could only make it 75% sweet and 75% ice if I wanted to modify it. Alright, that's fine. I've been to many Ding Tea locations before and this one always have the worst service, especially from the cashier guy who is always there on daytime, the one who never smiles and always looking like he's hating the whole entire world if anyone else also had similar experiences. My milk tea came out so bland without any sugar and I asked him to replace it for me. He gave me a hateful stare and dumped my drink right there and mumbled something to the other employees and went straight into the back behind the curtains. The other girl who made my drink is very nice and said she made a mistake and apologized. I have no problem with that but the attitude of that guy is just unbelievable, he needs to either be replaced or needs extra training on customer services. The milk tea here is great. I came on a pretty busy day but I didn't have to wait more than ten minutes. The main issue I had was that I ordered a large--except it didn't seem like one. It didn't take me long to finish, because as it turns out, over half of the cup was filled with ice. I have come here twice now and had experienced a similar issue with my medium cup. I'm not sure if it's just my luck or if this is standard for Ding Tea. We came here 5 minutes before closing since we had just made it into town after driving down from the Bay Area. My friend had visited one of their locations in Vietnam and she wanted to bring me! Although we were worried that we wouldn't get to be served, the cashier was very friendly and even checked in with me when I asked for half-sweet on the Hokkaido Oolong Sea Cream (70% sweet was the right choice, thanks to her advice!). while abs start in the kitchen, A sip of this golden chewy boba will have you coming back for more! they are opening up a location in Torrance soon , but when I do come down to orange county and I am craving boba, i order the strawberry green tea with boba. Or their basic signiture tea, you can't go wrong with their coffee drinks either. Good non caffeine options also available. The prices start at $3.05 and i definitely recommend for a difference of.75 to get their delicious golden boba! While slightly higher in calories this place knows how to make a damn good drink, their boba is the perfect temperature with a coat of sweetness. If i could drink everything and gain no weight id pick ding tea to drink at! While they hands down have the best boba in town, i can't give this location a 4 or 5 because they won't give me half Golden boba and crystallized Boba without charging me for both, their other Ding tea boba location on garden grove blvd offered to do that for me and that made me happy! And i find it extremely annoying that it's cash only for anything under $5.00 and plastic is only accepted if i basically get more than one drink. If you have just plastic on you, they'll charge you $5.00 and give you back the difference in cash. Thisis the only location that does that Also for some reason if you get two or more drinks if you're not there the second they seal your boba drink they automatically put it in a small bag for you without asking. There's no charge, but it's bad for the environment if you don't need it. Overall, not too long of a wait.
