It consider getting milk tea the fast food of dessert. You're in, you order and you leave with a smile on your face. I usually have to wait 20+ minutes for a tea to be ordered, and fail to understand why a person who just ordered received their order for the same drink I got faster. There seems to be a lack of communication between workers on which drinks are completed. The atmosphere isn't too bad, plaza is a bit cramped since there's quite a few small businesses in the area. Drinks taste aite. Nothing special, lot of powder/sugar. I will update my review If I happen to come with friends next time. Otherwise I'd suggest looking elsewhere for your boba cravings. read more

I have been to three Ding Tea locations so far, and this has to be my least favorite. My go-to drink is the milk tea with sea salt cream and star jelly. For some reason when I went to this location, it tasted like a completely different drink. I have no idea what it tasted like, but it definitely tasted off. The sea salt cream flavor was also not very prevalent which made me sad. My boyfriend got a small taro milk tea with pudding and he literally finished the drink in like 5 sips. The cup was super tiny and it was LOADED with pudding so it seemed like he didn't really get much of the actual drink! Parking is okay -- they have a lot but it's pretty tight, and also people aren't great at parking in this area... The shop itself is also pretty narrow with a small waiting area. Def not as good as cha's but it's good enough for me :-) I sign up for their 5 points rewards and I don't go here often so every couple months I get BOGO drinks! I usually get 2 larges with boba for $4.50 with the bogo. You can customize the ice level and sweetness for your drink, but that's standard to all boba places nowadays. Other than that, it's a typical boba shop. There are tons of drinks to choose from but I usually just get the mango green tea and I got the caramel oolong and it was too sweet. Just placed an order online. Then received a call saying that they can't make the drinks the way we ordered them. Every other ding tea I've been to allows us to mix flavors. But they're saying that their policy just changed. I guess it's too complicated for them to accommodate. So we ended up canceling the order and am going to sunrite instead. Another thing about this place that sucks is their credit card policy. They require you to make a minimum amount for your purchase. This is technically illegal to do. Gonna keep this short and simple (just because there is an abundance of boba shops in Garden Grove). There are 5 things when looking at a boba establishment: 1. Parking/location 2. Wait time 3. Taste of drink 4. Price 5. Service This shop is in the same plaza as Eiswelt Gelato (corner gelato shop with cute animal designs). Parking can be horrrrrrible late afternoons and especially in the evening. Good thing is, they take phone orders, but don't count on it because while I was there, they were busy enough to not take two phone calls. If there are at least 3 people ahead of you, your drink is gonna take at least 10-15 minutes (for two drinks). I ONLY come here for their Matcha Milk Tea with Golden Boba added. It has a semi-sweet, creamy consistency and the golden boba adds that extra sweetness to it. Total came out to be $4.05 (not bad). Service was alright, nothing that stood out to me. Will probably only come back when I KNOW it's not busy (opening time/early afternoons)! Ding Tea is definitely a place I haven't heard of before! My best friend and I had a catch up here tonight. We wanted to try a new tea place, and she suggested we come here since she passed by it a couple of times. Inside was a little modern boba place. The menu is pretty simple, but extensive. I got the passionfruit flavored tea & my friend got the taro milk tea. I really like that they give the option to adjust sweetness AND ice content. They have the exact percentages of how much they will put in. That's definitely the plus about this place. Also, the woman who helped us was extremely friendly :) props to her! I initially thought that the drinks came out a little slower than I usually liked them to, but I remembered that sometimes it's nice to have food and drinks come out a little longer because that means they take a little more time into what you get. I liked my drink. It was tarty with the less ice and less sweetness (9.5/10). My friend's taro drink was a little lighter on the taro flavor, but it was still there (8.5/10). We enjoyed our time there. It's a tad bit more pricey for just regular milk or flavored tea, but it does get compensated with the quality of tea, as I can taste the actual tea that goes into the drinks. Customer service was excellent, I asked for water and the girl that gave me water was very pleasant and put it in a cup with ice and even gave me a straw. Very pleasant even though she was working on the drink she stopped two give me water. Just another one of many boba shops in the OC, but one thing that stands out to me is their golden boba. To add this to your drink is $0.75, a little more than the typical $0.50 for other toppings. However, it's a lot chewier than normal boba and I really liked how it tasted with my drink. I've heard that their service can be a bit spotty at times and it could take upwards of 30-40 minutes to get your drink (huh??) but the couple times I've been here I haven't had that problem. Soooo Garden Grove is one of California's boba central hubs, and I've got to say any boba store is up for huge competition. That being said, Ding Tea was okay for me. I ordered the Oolong Milk Tea with Golden Boba and the boyfriend got Matcha Milk Tea with Golden Boba. Being my first time and hearing the hype of the place, I was expecting a little more from the experience. I was a little scared for the wait time as that's what I had heard was pretty bad. Surprisingly the drinks came out in under 10 minutes, so a little applause for that! The OMT was just as standard as other oolong teas I've had. The flavor was a bit more on the tea side, not overly sweetened in any way which I appreciate. The boba was slightly sweet, but there was something kinda normal about it. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to get the golden boba. Although I only had a sip of the Matcha Milk Tea, I'd say it had a tinge more of sweetness than I was expecting. It's probably the best one in the OC area considering how I'm spoiled by the oolong MT at Tea Brick in 626. Always the perfect balance between the milkiness and tea flavor and the texture of the boba is consistently chewy (not in a bad way). Milk teas are freshly brewed and sugar level/ice level can be adjusted to your preference. Flavored teas are with syrup. The one different thing about Ding Tea is their Yakult drink. Must try. What is really special about Ding Tea is their crystal boba. It's a cross between a popping boba/jelly but more firm. The golden boba tastes great and chewiness is on point. But waiting for a drink that is not meeting to expectations is a problem. The consistency of the drinks are normally sweet which makes me wonder how much sugar is actually being put into each drink whether there is a customized sugar level or not. Most tea flavors taste the same. The only one that I could possibly enjoy the most is the Jasmine Milk Tea. I enjoy the toppings of Crystal Boba and Egg Pudding. Came here after lunch at Quan Mii because it was convenient and in the same plaza. By far, THE WORST Ding Tea location I've visited in terms of taste and quality. Drinks: I ordered a mango green tea with lychee jelly and their Signature milk tea with grass jelly. The mango green tea tasted watered-down and the tea component tasted like leftover tea. The lychee jelly was not sweet and tasted funny, almost like it might have been expired. Their Signature milk tea was mediocre in taste compared to other Ding Tea locations. This place is hit or miss. I used to come here incredibly often but I've since then stopped, mostly in part to the lack of consistency in the tea strength. Some days it's strong, some days you can't even taste it. The sugar levels and ice levels are also inconsistent. It sucks because I used to really love this place and chose to spend money here because I felt it was worth it, but that's not really the case anymore. So, the drinks: Signature Milk Tea: This is my favorite drink, and while it's good some days, there's no saying it will be good on the day you choose to try it. I get it with 70% sugar because their drinks suddenly became a lot sweeter after their remodel. Mocha Coffee: This is good, you can't go wrong with this drink. It tastes the same every time, it's just a strong coffee with a lot of chocolate. It's less coffee, more chocolate. It's also very sweet, but I like it at 100%. Jasmine Milk Tea: This drink is consistently better than the signature, but it's usually on the milky side. I usually regret getting it with 100% sugar, but always forget to modify it. If you want a fruit tea, get 70% or even 50% sweetness. They usually put in too much syrup. Though, their passion fruit tea is pretty good at 100%. tl;dr This place can be really good some days, and then awful the next. If you're willing to gamble, go ahead. Otherwise, I'd just go to the more consistent, higher quality milk tea shops that have been popping up pretty recently. read more

This is a a small boba shop with a couple tables to chill. Interesting artificial grass decor on the wall. There's no WI-fi or AC, but at least they try with their "home cooler fan"? haha I have yet to try the Hokkaido milk tea, but so far, I've tried their signature milk tea, green tea, jasmine milk tea, and passion fruit juice. I liked how their menu allows you to order level of sweetness and ice. But for the Hokkaido milk tea, it's already sweetened. Their milk teas are premade, as you can see from the jugs behind the counter. And sadly, the Hokkaido was disappointing. It tasted nothing like boiling points, but tasted like a coffee milk tea. Fruity Tea Time! The Aloe Vera Kiwi Juice which I got was actually pretty good. I was going to try passion fruit green tea but went with this instead, and this new choice was a great one. The drink was not overly sweet as I had order it with slight sugar level (30% sweet) and half ice. There was plenty of aloe in it as well and I had the large size which was $3.55. The drink was super refreshing which made my night even that much more chilling and refreshing as it was cold outside. However, I enjoyed it very much. As someone else has stated before it is similar to other Taiwanese chain boba places such as ShareTea, with its size and pricing. Ambiance/Service: There was no line or wait, and service was quick and easy. It's as cool as smooth and as refreshing as my drink! Great little place for a quick drink and chat. There are a few tables and seating as well. Clean place and friendly service. Location: Westminster, plenty of parking if not busy day. Right across from Snow Monster plaza. If your around this are, definitely try Dingtea out! There's fresh tea, flavored tea, fruit juice, yakult, latte, milk tea (all kinds of flavor), coffee, and hot drinks. DINGTEA has multiple locations spread across Asia, but only one in the US (so far). It has become one of my favorite milk tea joints in Little Saigon. Finding a spot to sit can be challenging as they only have 3 or 4 tables, especially during peak hours. Why are all the good boba shops equipped with deficient seatings? Also the choice of natural colors and wooden wall decor doesn't help the ambiance as it seems to perish by the tiny space again. I drank various kinds, the quality was always stellar. My favorite so far is the Hokkaido Milk Tea which has a unique flavor: slight hint of coffee/butterscotch aroma. Too sad they don't mix it with Baileys - what a great cock-tea/milk-tail that would be. Though they serve smaller pearls (which I personally prefer, I believe the majority favors the larger ones), their texture is flawless, not too chewy, not too dense. They also offer customizations in terms of sugar and ice level. Tip: Less ice means more tea. Time to fill up my staple card, free drink after 10 purchases. read more

A good place to stop by and pick up a drink :) Dingtea Bolsa has lots of different flavors tea, and some flavors that not every boba place will have. I tried the Lychee Green Tea with Golden Boba, and I LOVE it. The last time I had Lychee Green Tea was two years ago, from a boba place in Australia (that I don't remember the name). I couldn't taste any Lychee flavor, and it was so sweet, so I didn't have Lychee Green Tea for so long. I decided to give it a try again at this place, and surprisingly it turned out 10 times better! The sweetness is just right, I could taste both Green Tea and Lychee flavors at the same time. Golden Boba is one of the special things about this place, it was soft, and chewy, perfect with the drink. It's a small place, but cute :). This place is super cute! Next to one of my favorite restaurants. Started my order asking the girl who took it, suggestions on pairings for Matcha Milk Tea. She suggested: Egg Pudding or the signature Golden Boba (specialty). I loved that she had an immediate suggestion. Usually places don't really guide you on their signature stand outs. Started my order at 9:15p. There was a little line right after me. Was excited that this place was getting some action. Usually new places that aren't IG or FB savvy do well. So this little gem is a plus' The aesthetics of the shop is not quite eye pleasing. It's not at all terrible but the AstroTurf wall and modular art wouldn't have been my first choice. Black seating (probably easier for cleaning). The place is boarding hipster/Asian mall/Korean pop-esque theme. Negative: Counter space is small. And the call out booth has no place to even pound a straw down. So it's here's your straw and here's your drink. Positives: my drink was done in 6 minutes (9:21p). I liked the tea here a lot. I got the honey aloe Vera and it tastes very refreshing. It does not taste artificial or harsh on your throat. There is a strong tea fragrance and the honey is very prominent. The sugar from the honey is fresh and not the regular refined sugar. The wait was long and they seemed very unorganized. There is a lack of seating and the store is quite small. You could get claustrophobic in there. Overall, good experience. Will not go out of my way to get tea here, but if it is convenient, I will come back. read more
