I am from Missouri and was visiting family for the weekend. i live almost 7 hours from Elgin. My 2025 Ram Rebel started acting funny on the way to Illinois, but the issues got worse and worse the next day. I was in a panic and called Elgin to let them know I needed to come in ASAP. When I arrived at the service department I was welcomed immediately and pulled right in. Their team quickly got into checking everything out and the possibilities of what might be the issue. The whole time they were in constant communication with me about what it might be. While I was waiting I went to the sales floor for some distraction and was greeted by a very kind and knowledgeable salesman. The service department found the issue and had it fixed within the hour. They were so friendly and helpful. So much to the point that we are discussing buying our next vehicle from them. A great sales team helps make the deal easier, but truly the service department is who you deal with after the sale is done. Loved everything about my experience and would highly recommend these guys. read more

One of the worst dealership experiences I've ever had. I found a vehicle through CarGurus and received confirmation from the dealership that the advertised offer was valid and that I could come in for a test drive. When I arrived, I was told the CarGurus price was no longer valid and that the vehicle would cost approximately $2,000 more. Despite this, I test drove the vehicle they showed me, completed the financing at the higher price, and was told to return the next day after the detailing was finished to pick it up. Three days went by without any updates, and my salesperson was avoiding my calls. Eventually, I was told that the vehicle I had test driven was actually a different Jeep (a 2023 model), while the paperwork I had signed was for a 2011 Jeep. In other words, I had financed a completely different vehicle than the one I was shown. I had never even inspected the 2011 vehicle or had the opportunity to have it checked by an independent mechanic before signing. I was then informed that the 2011 Jeep had a clutch problem that needed to be repaired. I was asked to wait another week. Once again, no one answered my calls or provided any updates. When I finally went to the dealership in person, I discovered that the repairs hadn't even been started. Over the following week, I was given one excuse after another: the technician was out because of a family emergency, the repair needed approval, the parts hadn't been approved yet, and then the parts were delayed in shipping. More than three weeks after completing the purchase, I finally received the vehicle. Throughout this entire process, communication was poor, promises were repeatedly broken, and I felt misled from start to finish. Based on my experience, the sales process was disorganized and highly unprofessional. My interactions with the salesperson, Ali, and his manager, Adam, only added to the frustration, as getting straightforward answers or timely updates was extremely difficult. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this dealership to do their homework, carefully verify every detail of the vehicle and paperwork before signing, and have any used vehicle independently inspected. I should have done more research on warranties ....a very expensive lesson learned! When I bought my 2018 Jeep Wrangler in October 2023, I made it clear to the finance department that corrosion protection, bumper-to-bumper coverage, and gap insurance were my top priorities. I asked multiple times about being covered for corrosion, and I was assured that the Luxe Care XT Protection Plan would cover it. A year later, I noticed corrosion forming on my Jeep. After reviewing my paperwork and calling to verify, I learned that corrosion is not covered under this plan or any extended warranty, and my factory warranty had already expired. This directly contradicted what I was told at the time of purchase. Now I am facing thousands of dollars in potential repairs for something I believed I was protected against. This dealership's finance department, misrepresented a warranty coverage to make a sale... if I knew the truth, I would have purchased a new Jeep instead. While these complaints may not go anywhere, I wanted to warn other first-time buyers like myself: Do your research, Review the full warranty coverage, and be cautious with how this dealership presents its protection plans.... especially the so-called "corrosion warranty" under the Luxe Care XT Protection Plan. read more

I made account just for this. They sent me a letter in the mail that said I won $1000. i even called and they confirmed it. I left work early to come in to collect it and they sat me down to collect my information while they verified my winnings. after I gave them everything they told me that I won only 5$. later I came to find out that everyone won the same"$1000" and it's just to get people to come in. Now everyday for a month afterwards my phone has been blowing up with scam calls and texts. so these guys lied to me, took my info, and sold it. screw these people I will never go here to buy a car or do anything else. read more

Called service about brakes Monday, asked what time they'd be open until, they tell me 7pm. I show up at 5:30pm to be informed they only accept cars until 4:45. They let me leave the car for a brake inspection and potential replacement, I tell them to call me in the AM to let me know timing and what things look like post-inspection, as I have to be back in the city tomorrow evening. They mention a replacement takes ~2 hours. I call them 1:30pm the next day after no call, asking for an update. The service person I worked with, Juan, informs me they have 4 techs out and he'll need to talk to dispatch to understand timing. 30 minutes later they leave a message saying there are 3 cars in front of me and I can pick it up (aka not enough time). Called back 3 times to try to speak to Juan, couldn't get him on the phone, end up picking the car up at 3pm on Tuesday. They had the car for 21 hours, didn't do a thing, and failed to communicate. I went into Elgin CDJR yesterday (6.24.25) to look at a used Jeep Renegade. When I walked in I was greeted by David with a smile and a welcome in. I told him why I was there and he got the car ready. While I was test driving the car there were a couple of questions I had. He told me that he wasn't sure of the answer but didn't want to give me wrong information so he'd check when we got back. I truly appreciated the honesty. He contacted Cruz to answer my questions (which happens to be his Dad). BOTH David and Cruz made buying my car an easy process. I didn't feel pressured to buy and they gave me some time to speak with my best friend who was with me. When they returned I told them I was ready to purchase a vehicle, they didn't try to upsell me with a million things. They told me about a couple of add ons and I chose to add them but, again, I never felt pressured. As I said previously, David was a fantastic salesman and Cruz was just as fantastic! This is 100% a post-sale screw up that will personally prevent me from ever walking in the door again, let alone purchase another vehicle. I will send a courier to take my car for oil changes since it came with my package. I guess I got a discount on it because of a screw up, but at the end of the day thats not what i wanted and i was made to feel at fault for their mistake. It was a shitty feeling i dont recommend anyone subject themselves to repeating. - All paperwork done and vehicle delivered - I put down a sizeable down-payment and walked away with finance terms I could live with. Happy wife, done deal, right? Nope. I get a nebulous voicemail and serious of text messages about some bank issue, more specifically as it turns out the issue was on the dealer. They needed to save face with the bank and literally harassed me to give them 2,000 dollars more. There was no negotiations, no clause in a contract where this was allowed for, the finance manager simply treated me as if I somehow owed them for this mistake. Ultimately they got what they wanted which was re-signed paperwork for the bank and at MY EXPENSE. I didn't have to shell out the 2K, I just had to forfeit 1K of a valuable service I thought I was getting, and then conveniently they were able to find a reduction on their service package. All of this after I included my CFO/General Counsel on the conversations. So why they couldn't just be 100% fully transparent with me instead of immediately making me to feel like I owed them 2,000 for the same deal is why I say I let them take the package out just to wrap this up. Now I will go buy the same package from another dealership. This review sucks for me to write and I am 100% fair. As such, the initial transaction made me happy. The sale price, dealer discounts, and Omar's effort to get a tech startup financed with an acceptable rate are all reasons why I bought from them. I had a completely opposite experience at a different dealer that same day and walked out happy that night with Elgin. But as I started, at the end of today, a few weeks later, the deal changed and I walked out very disappointed. read more

Bought a 2023 Wrangler from this dealer about a year and half ago. Came w some after market power doors/windows etc. Didn't think much of it especially when I was able to negotiate the add-on price of it off the purchase. Literally 3 days after driving it home, had an issue where the flashers would just turn on arbitrarily and they wouldn't turn off. Took it back to the dealer; they fiddled w it for 4 hours before realizing it was an issue w the after market shop. So they had to hold my car for several days to send it over. Was not getting daily updates as I wanted and after about 4 days I got the car back. Keep in mind they didn't give me a loaner. Said they were backed up. I was happy to get my car back but then around 6 months ago(a year after buying the car) I noticed an issue where one of the power locks wasn't actuating and I had to manually lock it. The dealer I went to by my house for oil changes said since it was after market I'd have to go back to the dealer I bought it from (Elgin). So I called for an appointment and again they said they were backed up on loaners but they could put me on a list since they'd have to take it back to the after market shop. I asked for a confirmation of date and they said they'd call me back with that. Never happened. I called the number that the customer service person posted here and got through and they said they'd take care of it. However after that one call I never got through to that number again. Finally one day I decided to drive to the dealer (it's about an hour from my house). The service tech was helpful and said they may be able to fix it in house. However he couldn't give me a loaner. I asked him if he could at least get me an Uber to my house so I could drive our spare car. He said it was too far (even though they got me a ride there when I had the initial issue w the flashers). He said he could take care of it over the course of a day and that he was willing to give me a ride to work and pick me up. I was optimistic that the issue would get fixed but then he called me back saying they'd have to take it to the after market shop. I asked to get on the loaner wait list and they finally gave me a date about 2 months away. However at this point in time, I realized that these after market parts would be headaches and so I just traded it in and got myself a 2024 wrangler elsewhere. Lesson learned: Don't buy anything w dealer after market parts. If you have an issue only that specific dealer will help you out and if it's not close to you it's gonna be a pain in the ass. Make sure all the parts are from the factory and on the window sticker. Side note: a dealer by my house put an after market lift kit (not the Xtreme recon) on a Willys and tried to play it off like not a big deal except they wanted to say it's an 8k value. Been seeing this issue w some CDJR dealers specifically. Also this person replying to these posts saying they'll help out is completely useless. So don't pay that any mind. read more

This review is long overdue. Earlier this fall, I went to Elgin Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM to test drive a used Volkswagen Passat. Ultimately, I did not purchase the car. I did not want to pay that much for a used car, even though the price they were asking was more than fair given the market. But I just wanted to give a shout-out to Pablo N. in sales. He was very organized and professional beforehand on the phone and emails. When I got there, he went over everything in great detail, and then let me go on a very long test drive. He did follow up a couple of times afterwards, but not in an overly aggressive or annoying way. I was very impressed with his knowledge and sales style. Again, I did not end up buying here, and purchased a car somewhere else. But this was a great dealership, and I had a five-star experience. Hopefully I won't need a car again for many years, but if I do, I will definitely check these guys out. If you are in the market for a car, make sure to stop by. I bought my truck from Elgin Chrysler last year, March 2024. I've had to have a few services since then. One major one was a grinding scratching noise very soon after purchasing my vehicle. I had gone back to Chrysler to have it addressed at that time I was taken care of by a young a young guy (name escapes me), I had to leave my vehicle there and wait for a call. Well 2 weeks went by with no call. Of course I checked in during that time only to be talked down too over the phone. His name was Brian, very rude, very dismissive as if he honestly didn't care. Finally I discovered that the guy I originally worked with was no longer there and my service was lost in the shuffle. When I finally went in to pick up my truck I asked about the noise I was told it wasn't listed on the service to be reviewed and that no one heard anything!! Leaving the lot I could immediately hear the scratching, I had to make a video to get the service addressed. I was told the break gear was grinding. I'm sure that caused additional issues that I will have to address later. Had I not been dismissed originally this could have been taken care of sooner. read more

It wasn't until I got down to doing the paperwork that I encountered an unpleasant treatment. The dealer representative was Omar, and overall was just rude. At one point he started rushing me to the point where he told me "can we hurry up, I have other things to do." That is insanely rude and I was just dumbfounded that that was the treatment I was getting. His whole demeanor was very unpleasant and left me ready to just walk out of the place. After signing all the paperwork, I literally was rushed/kicked of there so fast, they didn't even take my down payment. I left for vacation the next day and was bombarded with calls for the down payment while on vacation. There was many other issues I had because of the way he handled my paperwork, but this was the main thing. Very Unprofessional service from Omar. My overall experience with the salesman was 5 stars. SCAM, rude and overall just bad customer service. The dealership confirmed the price that was listed on Cargurus and their website. The car had been listed for 221 days, price changed to $38,158 on October 2nd. So I made an appointment to come and see the vehicle. After testing it out I wanted to move forward with the purchase. The sales rep went to get his manager and the price went up by $4k, now $42,000. I asked why the price change he said because I didn't qualify for any of the incentives. The price listed on both websites does NOT mention any incentives. I asked him to give me a breakdown of what the $4k incentives were he could not. I checked the website today and day later and they changed the price to $44,158. The sales rep Mario was great, too bad the manager was crude. read more

I went in for a simple oil change and they left my car on a lift right under a heater and it destroyed my leather interior causing thousands in damage. I came back the next day to pick my truck up and Pete treated me like I was an idiot stating that things like this just happen and it was not their fault. Brought my renegade in for a simple oil change with a 12:30 appointment. At that time I was told it would be 1.5-2 hours before they started on my car. I was unable to spend my whole afternoon waiting for my car to have its oil changed so after waiting a while and noting that they had not started on it, I simply asked for my key and was planning to go to an oil change business. I asked to speak to the service manager who tried to tell me that the 12:30 appointment only meant that was my appointment with the check in person to get "in the cue". When I suggested that wasn't reasonable, he tried to make me feel foolish and said "everyone knows that!" . Why is anything after the sale considered unimportant to the dealer? This is not my first Jeep nor is it the first poor experience I've had with this service department. I guess it was foolish to think it would be better this time. Disappointed. read more

I give them 1 star because of their service department, not their sales department. I've bought 4 vehicles from them, family has bought multiple vehicles from them, and we will never again due to their service department. This last trip really got to me. I go in and I stand at the service counter waiting and waiting for the service writers to actually realize I'm there between the personal conversations they are having with each other. Finally I get a head pocking around a computer with a very sarcastic "Ummm can I help you?" I explain why I'm here and get a very bothersome fine out of the guy. We run the CEL and it comes back with something fairly simple plus a recall requiring a flash needed for the computer. OK not bad at all. I ask if we can take care of this today to a very short "NOPE!" OK not a problem, can I make and appt. for a Saturday morning? "NOPE! I'm not doing this on a Saturday". I ask why and just get a because we aren't. OK so week day it is, I'll need a loaner. NOPE!!! once again from this guy. OK when will you have one available to the answer of IDK we are booked months out. At this point I now know I'm just a bother to this guy. I said fine I'll figure this out but lets do the tire rotation while I'm here. Again a very bothersome response followed by if we need special tools to remove the wheels, we aren't doing this. This was just the last straw with them. I had a previous vehicle in for work done which took over 6 different visits due them not fixing it, ordering the wrong parts, installing the parts wrong, then having to fix that. Each time more and more of an issue and time away. All of this while never once offering a loaner due to their complete screw up. With that situation, I could never get a call back, never a person to answer the phone, when I would finally get a call it was the cashier because the service writers where gone. When I would actually get through I would be be put on hold or hung up on mid sentence. Also one of the "on hold" times the phone was sat down and I could hear their people laughing at the situation. If you like being treated like trash, by all means go here. If you want better service, I suggest you find another dealership. Due to this, they have lost the business of 5 different people who do purchase cars every two or so years. read more
