I came here a few times for a pedicure. While the ladies are pretty nice, the menu changed in a matter of weeks and the option for a $45 pedicure was gone and increased their cheapest to $55. The stnadard polish lasted a good 3 weeks which was nice. The pedicures are fine, but it's fairly warm inside the shop. For the price I think there are a few better places around. read more

If all you want is a standard manicure, or pedicure with no design and no friendliness, this is your place. I sent my teen here with her friend, and was charged out the nose for two full sets that look like an absolute mess. Cash & attitude only. read more

I think the brother name is John. He always hooks me up! I show him different nail art designs n he has no problem doing it exactly and if he can't he'll make it something similar. Also I absolutely love the prices. They not out here charging 200$ for 2 colors like some of these other shops. It's an old school nail shop vibe. I went here for a yr on and off. read more

I wanted a manicure yesterday but didn't want to drive very far so I gave the closest salon to me a chance... and WOOWWW!!! I always go for a plain manicure, clear polish, as I like the natural look on my nails. Ladies were very very sweet and professional and I asked if I could get "clear gel" to keep my nails sturdy but not be able to tell I'm wearing gel. She even tested out what it would look like on her own nail before I agreed! It was $39 for my manicure and "clear gel" and it is so so beautiful!! I will always be coming back here. Thrilled I made an appointment here and could be seen day of! I got gel nails & a regular pedicure and loved how they turned out! - They said Mon - Wed are there most available days (packed on the weekends) - Flower (28 + years experience) spent serious TIME cleaning up my cuticles & I was very impressed - attention to detail was a 12/10 and she spoke great English! Cost was $45 dollars more than my regular salon that I really like. Nice people but to expensive for my pocket. 4/23 Update, dip nails have already started to separate 8 lift where corners can be caught. My nail stylist from home is only $45 and lasts for a month. Can not recommend. read more

My cousin and I came here on a random rainy Tuesday while she was in town. There were so many gel polish colors and they were very patient with us while we picked colors (and a glitter topper for my cousin). I couldn't believe how fast and neat they were able to put polish on us, and they cleaned up our cuticles SO well. I was super impressed! This is also the most natural looking gel mani I've ever had; I feel like most gel manis have the thicker "gel look", which is fine, but the coats here are thin and I like that it looks really natural and subtle. I usually don't get my nails done, but I'll definitely come here again to treat myself or before special occasions! read more

My shellac manicure started chipping and peeling after only a few days, and I had to get my nails redone after 1 week at another location. My pedicure was also no good--pictures attached of how poorly the polish was applied. Pedicure water was also cold and I had to ask them to warm it up. Giving two stars because I appreciate that they did my nails and toes at the same time, which saved me time. Additionally, the woman who did my manicure was very sweet and gave a great arm massage. Staff was super nice, just not happy with the quality of the manicure and pedicure. I won't be going back. read more

I went to Talent Nails 4 days ago and did regular pedicure and gel manicure. However, a few hours after I left the place, one of my gel nails, already started peeling off. I took a picture as I knew I would go back to fix it. By the next morning a few other nails also peeled off. I went back as soon as I could on Sunday and asked them to fix it. I communicated that I think this nail polish might be old or bad in hopes she would consider a different one. She stated: "Your nail pealed off because you have kids". I explained that I did not do any dishes and I did not take a shower since the nails were done so that could not be the reason. She fixed it in a rush and I could tell that it wasn't a really good job. By the next day, my nails started peeling off again. Right now I am on day two since she fixed it and 6/10 nails are pealing off. Also my cuticles were not done either. The only reason I am giving the place 2 stars is because my pedicure was done well. This is disappointing because it was my birthday, and I have some other upcoming celebrations and now my nails look this horribly. Altogether the price was probably around $70 and I would expect good results for that money. When I get gel nails, I expect them to last at least 10 days. This is very disappointing. read more

My daughter went there for a full set of gel nails & pedicure it was horrible. One nail fell off the next day. The nails were bumpy like they didn't file them down. To find out they didn't the first time., I took her in to get it fixed. They weren't very friendly Then the next day 2 more popped off. At this point just give her money back. They acted like it was her fault. The nails popped off! She's never had this problem with gels. read more

After quarantine I was so excited for a mani so I paid $80 for a pedi &dip nails. I told the girl to do white dip &use nail polish to add glitter. I've done this before and it was so beautiful I wanted to recreate it. I even showed her a pic. "No. They'll be bulky". She used powder for both and made them so bulky and oddly shaped she spent most of the time filing them thin. She must've made them SO thin (still maintaining the weird bump where the glitter is) that now, a few days later this is the result. A ruined manicure. Invest your $ in a quality place. read more

My friend and I got our nails done for my 21st birthday! We decided to get square-shaped acrylics -this was my first experience getting acrylics-. We did not have an appointment, but as soon as we stepped foot in the nail salon we were welcomed and given such amazing treatment. The man who did our nails was very friendly and made conversation the entire time. There were no problems or mistakes during our time. We both fell in love with our nails as soon as they were done! The best nail salon in Tierrasanta! All the staff here are always friendly to me and any guests I've ever brought in with me. John and Mary have always taken the time to listen to the random stories I come in with while they make my nails presentable. First time coming here. I came in for some nail therapy. I can feel a cold coming on, so decided to beat it to the punch before it does turn into a full blown cold. First stop was pho soup for breakfast, then on the spot decided to pamper myself. Came here, and Got acrylic nails with a deluxe pedicure. Picked same beautiful pink color for my finger and toe nails. Both ladies were sweet, friendly, professional and did a great job. Their massage chair is amazing! The rollers really got into my back. It was exactly what I needed. I highly recommend the deluxe pedicure. The scrub and treatment smelled delicious and my feet look and feel amazing. Definitely will come back. read more

I called ahead of time to see if they could squeeze me in and he said of course, head on over!! I've had my nails done at a few different places around San Diego but this was the most efficient fill I've had, not overpriced and we had an engaging conversation. Unprofessional & Waste of time. Had an apt for two people at 3:30, one for a full set& one for a pedicure. Only the person getting a full set was sat at 3:30.. 4pm eventually rolls around, still no pedicure. Two other people walk in and the manager tells us he over booked and asked US to wait after them for a pedicure but we were there first & had been waiting. Other person ended up never getting their pedicure & just wasted their time. Extremely unprofessional and unfair. Will not be going back & do not recommend. read more

I gave this place an honest chance not once but twice. I will not make a third visit. The customer service is horrible. My first visit, I show up shortly after 9 am their sign and business hours online both say "open at 9" I walk in to see if they were open yet if not I can wait till whatever time in my car. The lady said it was fine they were open. I sit down to get my toes done and half way through my service she goes into a rant that they in fact do not open at 9 but 10 and I apologize and she just kept saying normally she wouldn't have taken me, they don't open at 9, she only took me because it was prom season ( I have well exceeded the prom age...) then today I went in again. When I picked the service I wanted it said 45 minutes, I opted for that one because it would have left me 15 minutes to pick up my daughter from school. The service took well over an hour and when I asked to please skip the polish I needed to go she ignored me. I explained I had to pick up my 5 year old from school. She said she was almost done. I was 15 minutes late for pick up when the school is 3 minutes away. She over charged me for a pedicure that was supposed to be 40 dollars she charged over 60. When I was rushing out she was laughed at me. This place isn't exactly well kept. There's missing tile on the bathroom wall, there was no hand soap or paper towels in the restroom no toilet paper on the holder. I would understand a bit if this place was busy but they sadly had one other customer while I was there read more

YES YES YES! For the absolute first time in my life, I had a manicure where they took their time and focused on making it perfect. I felt cared for and that my gel nails are not going to chip after one week. I am from Tennessee and the prices there are $35 for a gel manicure this was $25!!!! I went here for almost 3 years straight and I've never loved a nail salon more!! If it wasn't for being restationed on the other side of the country, I'd still be going here. They treat you like family and give you exactly what you ask for 100% of the time! Not to mention military and student discounts, I've never been to place that offers those!! I am sad to make a not good post about this shop. But today was just to much! I and my friend was made to wait for over a hour so people that came in after us could be worked on! One lady did both my mani/pedi and my friends, and that doesn't work to well. Then it came time to pay and we were charged the same thing but had different mani/pedi done! Smh I am sad because I loved this shop but no more this is the last time I will go to them so now I will be looking for a new shop. read more

Mediocre at best. Bubbles in the final polish and clumpy finish on some nails. The pedicure was relaxing but seemed prices were high compared to other places I've been to in town. They were polite and friendly and seemed to be sanitizing areas after each customer. The nail files they used on me seemed well used already, that always grosses me out thinking of other people's dead skin and nail dust being ground into my own fingers. What pushed me over the edge was the lady at the end told me next time bring cash, it's better. Which handling cash is the last thing I'm doing during a pandemic. Won't be going back. read more

I found Talent Nails on Yelp. I was going to a mall nail salon and didn't enjoy it much. I am very glad to have found this place because not only is it a walk from my house but the service here was great. I got a manicure, pedicure and acrylics done. My acrylics and manicure were don't by Mary (I suck at names so maybe that name is wrong). I loved them they were very detailed and she made sure i liked everything before proceeding. Mary was also very friendly and respectful. She is very sweet. She made sure that even though I was already getting my pedicure and my acrylics were done she wanted to double check them. Then my pedicure, I tell you even though I got the deluxe I felt like I got the most expensive one. This was great. She was even able to find the spot that hurt without me even knowing I had a spot on my foot that hurt. This place seemed family own and it was great. I read the reviews and opted to go here vice the place a few doors down, sadly it's not open. They have posted hours on the door that say they opened an hour ago. Very rude lady who sits at the front. When I came in I said no to putting on hand sanitizer ( it burns my ezcema ) she rudely said "Then go wash your hands!" The pedicure was ok, but water was so cold. I asked twice to warm it up. I then asked front lady to fix a broken nail.( It was just a french manicure design ) She said "No! I cannot do that!" Meaning she couldn't copy a french manicure? WTH? No customer service here. When I went to pay -she didn't like that fact that I only had a card not cash. (I don't carry cash in a pandemic.) The bill for just a pedicure and one broken nail was almost $40 !!! Not returning here. read more

I paid for the deluxe pedicure only $35 and for the work she did on my feet was well worth the upgrade ! Super happy will definitely come back when I am here! read more

Nail tech asked my daughter to pay first before receiving any services. Wish I had read the previous reviews about this place being racist towards colored individuals. We own homes in the Lake Murray and San Carlos communities, will not stand for this kind of behavior. I will definitely reach out to EEOC. Don't recommend this place at all.

Then 5 days later my thumb completely chipped on the top I noticed it in the morning when I woke up. I called and made an appointment to fix it the same day. She fixed it and didn't charge me. Not even 24 hours later a small chip again on the same exact nail corner.... This never happened at my old place so I'm not sure if it's the brand of polish or the top coat or the machine they use to cure the gel. But it really sucks when your nails are new and they don't look good. Probably wouldn't come back based on this experience.

I came here for the first time yesterday and I'm not happy! I asked for a full set, medium length and my nails are as short as my natural nails were when I went in (short) the lady doing my nails insisted I get the gel on my nails ($6 extra) because it makes them last longer and shinier etc.. not even 4 hours later, the nail polish was all sorts of messed up plus it already looks like I need a fill. I had crazy glue stuck to my finger tips which doesn't happen at other salons. She also seemed to be in a hurry to finish. Will not be returning to this place again. I get better service and a better outcome at nail places in city heights. read more

I have been coming to Talent Nails for some months now. The service and the location is excellent. My team consists of Mary & Helen for manicure & pedicure.
