I had been wanting to try this place for quite a few years now, but every time I looked at the menu online the prices stopped me dead in my tracks! We happened to be in the neighborhood and within very close proximity so I said "phuck it", lets FINALLY give it a try lol. Patio dining is the most popular as they do not have AC inside; however, the tables were too close for my comfort (there were a couple open) so we chose to dine inside and it was not bad in there (temp wise) at all (they have a fan on). We started off with the burrata app (24.00, gulp!) & it came with three rolls (not sure if homemade), the burrata, and what appeared to be a tapenade. It was tasty but definitely not worth the price. For entrees, I ordered the pappardelle (26.00) which came with a pork ragu & bone marrow (BTW, pasta is made fresh in house). BFF ordered some type of pasta with spicy pork sausage (33.00). Both were very tasty with just a tad of spiciness. We did not order any dessert as our server did not offer any as well as not seeing it on the menu (one page menu). I am glad that I finally got to dine in at this place; however, it is for special occasions only (in my book) as it came to 115.00 for 2 (before tip) & that was with no alcoholic beverages (just soda). I did notice on their website that they have "oyster hour" (happy hour with oysters) 6 days a week so I'd definitely like to try that with more reasonable pricing!

We chose Ellie's to celebrate two of our best friends getting married and it was the perfect spot! Everything we ordered was delicious! When you go, def order: Bone Marrow Board, Shrimp & Melon Salad, Rillettes Crostada, Chicken Piccata, Pappardelle, and the massive Short Rib Al Pastor. And remember to save room for the Strawberry Cake and Panna Cotta! The food was incredible, fantastic service, and we loved Ellie's atmosphere with their outdoor seating. Would be a great place for a date night or any celebration. We'll definitely be back!

We came here because I was craving oysters. The only downside is that parking around the area is really difficult, so be prepared to spend some time looking for a spot. The oysters were served with a sauce already on them, which wasn't my preference since I like adding my own. Thankfully, the manager was quick to help and had them changed. I really appreciated the excellent customer service. The steak was flavorful, and the pasta was absolutely delicious--my husband and I both loved it. Overall, I'm giving this place 4 stars. The food and service were great, but the parking situation is definitely a challenge.

So glad that I finally stopped by Ellie's. This place is great! Loved their happy hour (oyster menu) headed by $1.50 oysters and $3.50 scallops. The oysters were good but the scallops were great! We ended up staying for dinner and I am sure glad that we did. We ordered the Shrimp and Melon dish, and what in the world? Amazing!! Closed with their Mafaldine with spicy sausage. Everything here was fantastic. I will be back.

My colleagues were raving about this place for their fresh oysters on the HH menu so last month, a few of my other colleagues finally got a chance to stop by on a Friday during their HH. We made a reservation for outside for 6 and had such a wonderful time. Food was incredible and the scallop and oysters were so yummy! We ordered two dozens of each! I was surprised by how small the restaurant is, inside. I think the best seats in the house are outdoor! Service was a bit slow but we didn't mind because food was incredible! I really like the melon and shrimp salad also. My colleagues really enjoyed the pasta dish and the bone marrow cheese plate and the fish and chips. Overall, good food and would come back for their fresh seafood options!

Definitely enjoyed my food! Loved everything. My waiter Tim was very attentive, I enjoyed our conversation, and will always remember. I like briny oysters, but the ones I had were a tad too- but it's ok! Pasta was tasty! The layout was nice with a touch of elegance.

I was so excited to try this place after hearing great things but it was just okay. I came for the lunch prix fixe. We got the Caesar salad which I was let down by; flavor was lacking and the croutons were so hard I thought my tooth would break. We also got the brussel sprouts which were amazing; cooked to perfection and the sauce was phenomenal. We got the mafaldine pasta which hardly tasted like a vodka pasta, I compared the flavor to a thin, unseasoned tomato soup. The pasta itself was great but the base was not. We also got the tagliatelle which made up for the disappointing mafaldine. The pasta was the perfect texture, flavor was amazing, and the fishy shrimp took it to the next level. The included dessert was a panna cotta which was good but nothing to write home about. The interior did not feel like an authentic Italian restaurant and was drab/dry. Typical white/gray interior that takes away the authenticity of a restaurant. Lastly, there were several large flies, which I understand may not the restaurants fault but one did land in my wine which they did quickly replace. I would definitely think twice about coming back here and would only order the brussel sprouts and tagliatelle. Staff was nice and friendly.

I do say I love every restaurant I review, but Ellie's is my favorite place. There are a few obstacles when getting to this restaurant such as, limited parking and it being located near Ocean Blvd.; it's still worth the obstacles I face when getting here !!!!!!! & this is coming from a person who is maxed out laziness. I do have to round the block a few times for parking but this place is worth the drive and terrible parking. I am also a person of habit so I will always get the same dish as a precaution. Ellie's is one of the few places where I like every item from their menu. I am lazy to look for other food pics from Ellie's so here are three pics from my most recent visit. My favorite that is not pictured is the gnocchi. I crave it so often, I try to replicate it until I return back to Ellie's For the price, this place is $$$. Especially because when you are having a rich pasta, you MUST get the wine to go with it. Everything from here does add up but it's worth every obstacle (centralizing theme within this review). Servers are amazing and beautiful people. They are always in a genuine great mood that makes the dining experience great. Though the inside of the restaurant is small, there is plenty of tables on its patio. The patio is on the sidewalk, which I normally hate because restaurants typically lack in service and ambience when seated outside. Not for Ellie's, service and ambience is even better outside. I find it too stuffy and crowded inside the restaurant.

Parking is street parking only, so definitely give yourself extra time to find a spot. I'd also highly recommend making a reservation since the space is small & busy. The restaurant has a cute, no-fuss decor style that still feels cozy and elevated. We sat inside, which seemed like a much nicer vibe than the outdoor seating. Service was fast and friendly throughout the meal. I ordered the chittara pomodoro, which was so tasty and clearly tasted homemade in the best way. For dessert, we had the panna cotta, which was the perfect light and creamy ending to the meal. Overall, such a charming little spot for a cozy dinner.

Had such a great experience at Ellie's! Arrived Friday night @ around 7:30pm thinking the wait would be long but luckily we only waited about 20 minutes :) Ordered the brussel sprouts 5/5 so good Tagliatelle 4/5 so creamy and flavorful Angel hair 5/5 nice and light but so yummy! This one was my fav bc you can rlly taste the pasta they made. Street parking only, I would suggest coming really early before your dinner plans to find a spot. The parking is always hard in Long Beach unless you get lucky.

Ellie's was absolutely amazing! Decided to come try their Monday Supper meal! The food had such a delicious, homemade feel, and the portions were hearty and generous. Everything came out at the perfect temperature. The steak was incredibly juicy, and the fish was perfectly crispy on the outside while still tender inside. The sweet potato was honestly the best I've ever had, and the bread... WOW! Definitely the best bread I've had anywhere, especially paired with their signature butter. I could've eaten that alone all night! Service was great as well. My only small complaint was the outdoor seating--the lighting wasn't my favorite and the bugs were a little bothersome. But honestly, the food more than made up for it. Everything was delicious, comforting, and so well prepared. We will definitely be back!

Food: Thank you to our waitress for recommending the lunch prix fixe! With the option of a salad or veggie an entree, my partner and I settled for the Roasted Cauliflower, Shrimp & Melon salad, Tagliatelle and Gnocchi, which were all very wonderful, with a nice flavor balance, to say the least. The meal also came with dessert, per chef's choice--this time it was a panna cotta that was to die for! Instantly became a fave. Service: Great! Always attended to, and food came in at a reasonable pace. Ambiance: Casual. Monochromatic interior, putting the focal point on the food. Parking: Street parking is available, but can take a minute to find a spot during peak hours.

Let me say this was a surprise , a good one. A small restaurant tucked along the neighborhood blocks from the beach. I've seen it a few times but never had the chance to try it out. It was on the list but something alway came up and we never made it. Well, we happened to walk by and was like what the heck. We're here let's try it out. It's a small restaurant with a nice cool clean beach vibe inside and a simple patio just outside with tables and heatlamps. We arrived just after happy hour which they're known as oyster hours. And let me say, the name explain itself. There were only three tables utilized when we arrived at the patio but by the time we ordered, it was completely full. People arriving minutes after each other and I'm sure it was for oyster hours. Self explanatory, oyster happy hours. For 1.50 a piece, that can't be beat. Pretty much every table had a dozen or so. Besides that, they also had a good happy hour menu on both drinks and meals. Also the regular dinner menu was quite impressive. A mixture of everything. But we were here for happy hours. House wines were 8.00 a glass and a dozen oysters were shared. They were quite tasty and served with horseradish and cocktails sauce. Simple eats but very delicious. We could have had more but we already had plans for dinner. Looking around, everyone had oysters on their table. The main attractions as it's known. Besides that, all the other dishes that were coming out all looked amazing. Fish and chips and their salads looked quite delicious. Service was excellent. The gentlemen that was taking care of everyone was excellent. Extremely friendly and professional as well as busy taking care of everybody. Just from this first visit, I must say it was great. Now I know what oyster hours is all about and finally nice to try it out. Next time, a meal. Highly recommend.

I decided to check the Resy app to try somewhere new besides the 3 restaurants across the street from me, and surprisingly found an opening at 7:45pm on a Saturday night! I walked there from my house so thankfully did not have to worry about parking. I felt completely comfortable from the moment I sat down. The atmosphere is warm and casual, there was live music and a lively group of people on the covered outdoor backyard. My server was lovely as well, attentive, but never felt rushed. Everything I ordered was delicious and perfectly paced. I started with the fried artichokes which I had never had before, but I love artichokes thanks to my Italian grandmother. So light and crispy. Then I had the caprese, what a stunning salad this is! The avocado was a bit random to me as I have never seen one with a caprese before and it was hard as a rock, but still ate the whole thing. I ordered the pasta alla routa Cacio E Pepe which I did not realize was $65 upon the time of ordering, but that's on me for not looking that closely. They told me ahead of time when it was coming out so I could video it being made inside the cheese wheel if I wanted since they couldn't come to me being that the backyard is covered in rocks. Thought this was nice since I paid so much for it, may as well be able to share the experience with others. I enjoyed two glasses of sangria with my dinner and finished with some pistachio gelato. All in all a great experience, I just wish the pasta was like $20 cheaper but lesson learned. I don't know that I would come here often since I spent $190 on dinner for myself, but I would come back for date night, or an anniversary, or a special occasion, and have already recommended since going.

It was a party of 4 adults and 1 child. We orders the salmon, ravioli, steak, meatballs and fettuccini Alfredo do with chicken. Salmon. This was basically the star of the show. Display was good. Cooked correctly and not overdone. However... I can't say the same for the rest. Let's move on. Ravioli. Far too rich in flavor. Because... it's hiding something. Restaurants get by thinking they can get away with shortcuts. Until they meet yelpers, food critics and chefs like myself. This ravioli IS made in house yes. However once made it's obvious it's frozen and re heated. Such a shame. Because I can guarantee you if it was fresh? Probably some of the best ravioli you'd ever have. Steak. Asked for medium rare. It came out like beef jerky. Burned and overcooked beyond edible. We told our server and they made another. The next one brought was spot on, medium rare. However lacking seasoning. This was the food our child had. And he's use to good steak. Nobu, Flemings etc. he was not happy with the lack of seasoning. Meatballs. Well you can't screw that up right? Wrong. Again previously froze. Now I'm sure they make the meat mixture in house. I'll give them that. But why are you guys freezing and re hearing? Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken. An American Italian staple. Pasta was actually cooked perfectly. I'll give them That. Pasta itself tastes it was made in house. However the chicken, overcooked, under seasoned again. Alfredo sauce WAY too rich again. The manager actually came over eventually. Asked how it was. I told her about the overcooked steak and the frozen ravioli/meatballs. She didn't even deny anything and said ok. Took the steak off the bill. It upsets me that this beautiful exterior and interior restaurant is like this. And the staff was pretty solid in the front of the house. However the food is severely lacking. I have this place a 3 star based upon the cleanliness, staff and exterior/interior. I wouldn't return for the food. Only for the ambience.

We were seated quickly and ordered a bottle of wine. I wish it were possible to taste the wine before buying, there were a couple I had not had before and they looked amazing, but I'm not gambling 100 bucks on a wine I haven't tried. The wine we ordered was fine, not incredible but not horrible. We also ordered the bread, meatballs, and ribeye. The bread was the dish that stood out the most. It was great. The other dishes were fine. Not worth the money to me. The entire experience lacked soul. From service to food, just kind of fine. Our dishes came out on top of each other, we should have asked them to course them. So this experience was definitely not worth it, which is a shame. I was left feeling like this is a place that does not have exceptional food but does have very high prices and maybe that's to vet clientele ;)

It's classy, the kind of place you'd see in a late-90s/early-00s romcom date scene. The staff was attentive and kind, though we asked for coffee at the end and it never came--we had a show to get to, so unfortunately had to leave without it. We started with the melanzane pizza. It was tasty, but I just realized later it was missing the nduja sausage listed on the menu. For my entrée, I had the paccheri pasta with braised short rib. The beef itself was rich, tender, and full of flavor--reminded me of an Italian birria, which I loved. But the rigatoni tasted undercooked, which was disappointing. My fiancé ordered the tagliata, and wow--she definitely picked the better dish. The steak was perfectly seasoned, cooked to a beautiful medium rare, and paired with a silky potato purée that was absolutely delicious. Overall, it's a romantic spot with some standout flavors, but the small misses kept it from being a perfect experience.

Let's start with the win: the burger was "the best he's had in a long time"--which says a lot. Kudos on the burger! The banana smoothie also got a thumbs-up. Everything else? Meh. The pancake was okay. The scrambled eggs were... weird. Tiny little egg bits that had me wondering, are these real eggs? I asked for crispy bacon; it wasn't, so I couldn't eat it. The breakfast potatoes tasted reheated--no crisp, not much flavor, no joy. And the London Fog? Don't expect Starbucks loveliness. The plain black coffee was better. I also had the grapefruit juice, it was bitter, but tasted fresh squeezed, which I appreciate. Service was good. My server saw that I didn't eat my food and tried to make it better. The venue is nice, but if you're coming for great food--burger aside--we didn't find it here. The velvet chairs are comfortable and beautiful, but the stains and spills were evident. I was worried when I sat down about what was on the chairs getting on my dress. Overall, it's a place we'd only return to if we were craving that burger, everything else was a fail. I left hungry. Last morning here at the Fairmont. Tried breakfast at Nettuno again... disappointed and leaving hungry again. This time we had oatmeal (needed to add water, so dry we stuck the spoon in it and it stood straight up and didn't fall over), fruit (good), boiled eggs (took 20 minutes), and the avocado toast with a fried egg. It was not good. The menu says it comes with kale, but I received mixed greens with it, not kale and the flavor was bad. It's hard to make bad avocado toast, but they did. Disappointing. Plus, service was very slow today. Our order came out incomplete and out of order. The atmosphere is beautiful, but this restaurant has a lot to work on to be worthy of its prices and the Fairmont brand. Second fail.

We had a great time to find some new hand care products @Lather and went to discover an authentic italian restaurant which lots of Yelpers mentioned. My wife said, we have to order at the front, then they bring the foods to the table but the owner took our orders, and brought the foods so fast just like other Italian restaurant. We love meat lasagna, pasta w bolonese sauce, and some flat breads like appetizer pizza. We ordered 3, lasagna, tagliatelle bolonese, flat bread sandwich called Cassone w sausage, bell pepper, onions. I had some italian red wine per glass ($14). First, I loved so much my lasagna and kept eating until finish my entire portion. I give 10 stars. My wife's pasta, she said pasta is too thick, might be on purpose? She likes soft, thin texture handmade tagliatelle. For the first time, we ordered flat bread sandwich. The sandwich flavor was good, but not the dough for flat bread. Well, we tried here for the 1st time after shopping. Today was almost 81 this afternoon. Hot and humid.....unluckily AC was broken so he opened the entrance door. One big fly bothered a lot annoying us eating the foods. And so hot inside restaurant. Overall, I liked my lasagna a lot, not really tagliatelle bolonese, nor the flat bread sandwich. If AC was working during lunch time. We felt much comfortable to enjoy our foods. One thing, I loved the red wine but the portion was not enough for $14. Even my wife said, not much for this price. I got 2 glasses of italian red wine, not enough. The view was great ocean side from the patio. This is a strong point eating here for the view. My wife saw the live pasta cooking show, a chef made the pasta, stretching the pasta dough in the kitchen....great show! Fun! Hopefully AC runs well especially hot summer season, the portions of pastas and wines might be more generous for the future.

I much prefer the Gem Lettuce (17.95) and spaghetti limone (21.95) from Jon and Vinny's. The highlight of the night was definitely the lamb chops and the affogato with passion fruit-raspberry jam ($15.60). The dressing for the IL Cesare ($22) at Due Fiori was very plain and it mainly tastes of the parmigiano. The Papparadelle a Limone ($24) was more of a butter noodle and cheese and left a puddle of butter wherever a noodle fell. The scallop crudo ($22) was also a highlight of the meal but when dinner came around (the affogato with Jam) the affogato stoke the show. Overall happy I finally got a chance to try the restaurant. The first time we came to ended up at another Italian spot a couple minutes away because the line was huge and barely moving. This time around we were one of the firsts seated since we got there around 20 minutes before opening. With that being said I don't know that I would make my way over to LB for another chance to try it or that I would wait in the line for it. Also thought it was silly that the Stone Fruit & Speck we originally ordered was sold out despite us being one of the first people there. Luckily what we traded it for what such a hit!
