This place is getting renovated right now so we ended up sitting in the bar area. We ordered a full rack of ribs, that came with a few different sides, shrimp cocktail, and a few side dinner salads. Everything was good and the prices here are very affordable. I will make an effort to return when the new space is completed. The restaurant is located inside Ellis Island Hotel and Casino, and they offer free parking in the garage, which is very convenient. The service was fast, and the food portions were huge. You simply can't beat 50% for locals from 4-7pm Monday through Thursday! We arrived at 350pm and took our place in line at the cafe (where the BBQ is currently being served due to construction). The line went super fast, we were seated by 4pm. Ellis Island has always had the best rib deal in town. Under $20 with a players card for s full rack and tons of sides! Today, the sides left a little to be desired as the coleslaw was very mayo forward, the bread was so so, baked beans very sauce heavy, and corn a bit soggy and it STILL was a great deal for the money. The ribs weren't quite as good as I remembered as they were a little fatty and perhaps undercooked. Still very solid for the price. They've also seemingly started putting less sauce on the ribs and instead bring 2 extra sauce containers to the table. We also added a side of steak fries whcih were very good and even better with malt vinegar. My wife had the in house made root beer which she liked. As an aside I love the cups here! We arrived at a time before it got busy. By the time we left, there was a line waiting to get in. We had the fish n chip (excellent choice). Crispy battered fish and good fries. A bowl of French onion soup. Soup was delicious. It had a bit too much cheese on top for my liking. Ate about 1/2. Found it to be too salty for myself. We had a half rack of ribs for one and a full rack of ribs for another person. Both came with bread and mini corn on the cobs, Cole slaw and baked beans. Ribs were fall off the bone tender. I can't find the pictures of our food, but we did come in to get food to go on Saturday afternoon. I got a cheeseburger, but I did not get the egg or bacon on it. I devoured the delicious french fries. And we also got the half BBQ chicken dinner. We got great service and our meal was ready and no time expect the typical sports bar sound level and television around for you to watch the games. Ellis Island barbecue is a local favorite. Although they have a lot of construction going on, there's still plenty of parking outside or in the parking structure. It's been several years since I've had their baby back ribs so I had to stop in for a rack and their Amber ale, one of their micro brews. I didn't have to wait at all to be seated and was able to place my order in under five minutes. The inside dining area is huge. This is barbecued baby back ribs, not smoked baby back ribs. The meat falls off the bone and their barbecue sauce is a sweet and mild spice flavor. Their amber ale is a good brew and the prices are very fair. Surprisingly good and affordable food. I had their King Cut Prime Rib and it wasn't disappointing. It was fairly good for the $35. I have to admit the wait time was ok, 15 minutes. The hilarious observation I have is with the guy that delivers your food to the table. Please note that he is not mean or rude, but man does he not care or give a crap. Maybe it's the volume of work and having to serve too many people. The man literally placed my plate on top of my knife, plate lop sided and all (lol), then he left. I saw similar type of behavior with other tables around my area. So, I don't blame the guy nor do I think he is mean or rude, I just think he is focused 100% on his job of delivering food to tables. Ellis Island BBQ reminds me of the great deals Las Vegas used to have pre-2004 (remember the all-you-can-eat steak and lobster buffet, at Bally's, for $19.99?). Here, at Ellis Island, if you have their free players card (which takes not more than two minutes to sign-up for at one of the player card machines [just put your driver's license into one of the machines and confirm the details]), you can eat a full rack of baby back ribs, with sides of baked beans, coleslaw, corn on the cob, and garlic bread for $22.99. The ribs are juicy, fall off the bone, and have a liberal amount of delicious barbeque sauce slathered over them. Despite what some people say, the portions are generous, and the quality is good. I also recommend that you try the root beer here (which is brewed in-house). In my opinion, this is one of the best value meals in Las Vegas. The service, here, too, is very good. If you're budget-conscious, Ellis Island BBQ is one place to get the most "bang for your buck." Also, parking is free in the parking structure. read more

My regular trip to Ellis Island bbq. We got a exceptional waitress this time, I'm not saying the others were any worse but this newer waitress was exceptionally attentive and very good. I can't say any different from my past times that I have been here. The food has always been consistently great for a rib joint just off the strip. The only difference is the portions have gotten smaller in time, not that anyone would have noticed but I'm just aware that has happened. The ribs used to be bigger, the corn was larger, little things that go unnoticed by others but I certainly can tell and the price has gone up ever so slightly. Kind of stumbled across this restaurant when we couldn't get into the Front Yard at the same casino. It was late and we knew there would be long lines if we went somewhere else so we decided to give it a try. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table so that was a plus! Our server was quick to greet us and get us our drinks. I saw a few different plates come out and I decided to give the rack of root beer sauced baby back ribs a try. I cook a ton of bbq at home so I know doing good ribs at a restaurant is tough. Ribs can get over cooked very easily if they have been sitting in an oven to keep them warm so I was curious to see how these would taste. When the ribs came out they had a nice coat of sticky bbq sauce on top. The bbq sauce was definitely root beer forward and amazing! The ribs still had a little chew to them and weren't falling off the bone, which is exactly how you want them to be! These ribs definitely exceeded my expectations! That's where the good things end unfortunately. The ribs were served with two halves of corn, bbq beans, coleslaw and some Texas garlic bread. The two halves of corn on the cob had been sitting in warm water for a long time, leaving them bland and not good at all. No amount of butter and salt could save these soggy corns. The Texas style bread was hard as a rock and I wasn't able to take a bite. The beans had an overwhelming onion flavor that detracted from the actual bean flavor and I only ate about half the small cup. I'm not a huge coleslaw fan so I didn't even try this restaurants version. Overall the ribs were killer but everything else lacked the same great flavor. read more

Anyway, the ribs were really good - the tender meat fell off the bones! The corn tasted like it's been soaking in hot water...not sweet or flavorful (just add butter, salt, and pepper haha). Simple menu, great prices with fast and friendly services. The bbq restaurant is easy to find right next to the cashier window in the back of the casino or just follow the side where the Village Pub is and keep going towards the back.
