Typical chain restaurant, other words, glorified Denny's. The waiting staff is inconsiderate and snobbish. Our waitress served my German pancake 10 minutes before our food, she was shocked to find out that I've never had this enormous chewy flab of half-cooked dough they called German pancakes. My daughter ordered crepes with fresh strawberries, in fact they offer a side of fresh strawberries with everything. When her dish arrived, there were mushy, cooked giant strawberries that had a consistency of wet cotton balls. We had to pick them all out, the kid was disgusted. My only nit pick is the lingonberry crepes they are tasty but for the love of the sweet baby Jesus please stop mixing the lingonberries with the butter and it shouldn't be cold!! Cold butter mixed with he berries is gross and even warned up its too much butter...yuck!! Separate those delicious ingredients read more

We booked a reservation for a group party at this specific Elmer's. We thought it would be a great idea and give this place a try. Unfortunately, it did not turn out the way we were expecting. Number one issue was how the staff treated us on the day of. Meals were served late, were told one thing and then another. Poor customer service and communication. If we were only treated well as customers, our experience and this review might have been different. It's unfortunate, but we would rather go somewhere else the next time we are in the area than be treated that way ever again! read more

Has always been a good go-to place for a good meal. I've had a friend work here so I was coming quite a bit until she left. Food was always good and the place is bright and friendly looking. It's a bit pricey for a breakfast place but it's always been tasty. I go in expecting something and I don't leave disappointed. I LOVE this restaurant! We came in and were very pleased with how incredibly sweet the waitresses were! Everybody is smiling and bubbly! Not only that, but our food came very quickly. I was a bit nervous because of how fast it was cooked but omg everything was so fresh and delicious, I gobbled everything right up! Also, we never had to flag a waitress down ONCE. They were so very attentive and on top of everything, even during the lunch rush. The environment is clean and cozy and I was just thoroughly impressed and pleased with everything. I was in Portland for a Rainshadow Running race. Always looking for a good breakfast the morning after a race. Elmers selection was great, had the "Looking for the sun" omelet, was really tasty. I love elmers it is right down from my apartment. The rock salt prime rib on their dinner menu is the bomb, and there is always enough to home with me, I love leftovers. The staff is always friendly and happy to see me and very helpful. If I don't have time to dine in for some reason I can get it to go and my dinner is just as good if I was to dine in. it's not too common to stop into a restaurant on the road not knowing what to expect, hoping for the best. elmer's was our best breakfast choice this roadtrip! hubby's denver omelette was the best he's had in a long time. fresh and plentiful ingredients, perfect hash browns. my breakfast sandwich was perfectly cooked. and to top it all off, chelsea, our server just made my day totally. her smile and happy attitude was wo contagious. we'll be keeping our eye out for elmer's whenever we travel! read more

I don't understand how this place has good reviews, I'm seriously amazed. I'm going to start by saying the customer service was awful our waitress didn't even greeted us even after waiting for 20min for her to take our order. After her taking our order it still took 20min plus to get our food. FYI it wasn't that busy. Our food was horrible I ordered a Denver & Tillamook omelet which was horrible, it was cold & the cheese wasn't even melted which makes me think it was sitting there for a while. My husbands food was the same way he ordered a skillet & it was slightly warm the veggies weren't even cooked right. Also my toast was literally falling apart. & for the icing on the cake my husband was never offered a refill on his lemonade. The waitress never actually came back to check how we were doing. Normally I don't post reviews but this time the customer service was seriously the worst. read more

We love going to Elmer's for breakfast. Haven't been any other time, so far. The food is really good. They have fresh squeezed OJ, and the bacon is good too. They have lots of options and 2 fireplaces; and they have tables and booths for seating options. 2 thumbs up. I've been going here since I was very young and even through ownership changes Elmers remains one of the best breakfast houses around. Lunch and dinner plates are pretty good too but this is a very good place to eat breakfast. It's always very clean with nice service and excellent food. Visiting Oregon for the first time and this was a very pleasant breakfast experience. Alberta greeted us with fresh coffee promptly and our server, Lindsey was as sweet as could be. I enjoy going to this particular Elmer's. When I do go here the place is always clean, the staff friendly, etc. I went to this restaurant earlier today. They were rather busy, but from the moment we ordered our meal, roughly ten minutes later they brought it to us. I was rather impressed with quick service and even mentioned about that to them. The prices are reasonable, atmosphere great. The really only reason I did four stars instead of 5 is I hate that parking they have outside. Parking so close to the entrance, I just fear the day somebody mistakes a gear/pedal and ends up putting their vehicle inside of the restaurant. I wish they would redesign the parking or at least put up those steel post barriers a lot of other businesses have. That'd help prevent cars from crashing inside of the business read more

Is this really an Elmer's Restaurant? The place needs a good cleaning...and then they need to visit some of the other Elmer's locations to see how it is supposed to be!!! The Vancouver, WA locations are VERY different. I think the Gresham location is using frozen products and the quantities are so much smaller than other Elmer's, it makes one wonder what is going on. Please, dear Manager and dear Kitchen Manager...order the fish at another location & then try to tell yourself that it is the same at yours...NOT. Corporate needs to visit and FIX it or DUMP it. read more
