Service is good, but my omelette the past four times has basically been completely empty. I ate half before I came across a leaf of spinach. There was no cheese at all, the little spinach inside wasn't cooked at all, and the egg was so thin it didn't even taste like real egg. The only reason I ate half was because I was starving. They comped my side of sausage because I told them it was empty. Still a waist of $20 w tip. Go to Denny's instead. read more

I was catching a flight out back home so I decided to get some food to go and hit the "Rogue Valley International Airport" hahaha everytime I say Rogue Valley and International I have to laugh. Stay focused Lex! This place is a dump. I ordered the food came in to pick it up and it is busy. Busy weekend I get it. I ask the hostess if there is a bar and she directs me back to a complete hole in the wall. In the bar I am greeted by an older gentleman who says nothing to me as I enter and hang out waiting for my food. The employee doesn't even ask for a drink order. Cool. The bar is full of druggies. There is no TV to watch the game? I see what the owner is doing here. This bar is screaming with, "We don't care about you, we don't want you to be distracted with social interaction, we want your drug money in our machines." It gets better. A waitress comes in and is eating her break food at the counter and her and the bartender start talking about a robbery that happened in this bar recently. No kidding? They continue to joke and one of them says, "Welcome to Elmers". Hmmm couldn't see that happening in this dump. I am surprised that there is no bars on the windows. So I leave the bar as quick as I can before I develop dirty film on my skin. I go back to the front and lo and behold there is my food. Sitting on the counter. I ask the hostess how long has this been waiting here? She says not long. I open it to check the contents. All of the food is ice cold. I have to catch a flight with my family and bring them this to eat? I ask for ranch for my kids cold chicken strips. The hostess brings back ranch that was the size of a pool. (I posted a pic). When I left out to the parking lot I see one of the Elmers cooks leaving to his truck. He looked like he was high on drugs. No I am serous. His eyes were blood shot red. Elmers needs to drug test this cook and its bar guests. I wanted to confront him about my experience but I was seriously afraid. I got in the car and checked my sandwhich and there was no chicken, it was slopply put together, and tasted like it had been sitting for a while. (I posted a pic). I know this is long one this time. Sorry this place gets the pent up frustration. I am sure I caught this restaurant on a bad day. But honestly there won't a second chance. read more

mmm mmm comfort food, conveniently located across the street from Shiloh Inn, in Medford - the perfect half-way stopping point on my drive up to Portland, from SF. A warm and cozy environment; super quick, efficient and personable service. Great portions for the price and a delicious cappuccino! *Dish/Beverage photos added to business listing. I never heard of Elmer's' but as soon as we hit this one up, it seemed like there was an an Elmer's restaurant in every other city on the way up to Portland! The majority of their locations are in Oregon (others in Washington, Idaho, Montana and three in S. CA: Palm Springs, Indio and Oceanside). Oh, and no sales tax in Oregon, baby! *I'd compare this to a step above our Denny's restaurants and will def. visit here again on my next Portland road trip - soon I hope! read more

I'm not one to write reviews ever but I specifically created my yelp account for this one. I cannot stay quiet anymore, their "lil bar/lottery" bartender Brandi needs someone to check her into a rehabilitation facility. I thought it might just been once or twice but consistently for months now she's literally doped outta her mind. Besides some pretty shady possible "transactions" in plain sight, she functions like a zombie ..when she's actually doing her job. I've watched her ignore good/repeat customers to just chat or go outside and vape for God knows how long, disappear for a while leaving people waiting to cash out or order anything, sometimes it takes her so long to even count money back I wouldn't be surprised if that till is off a lil now and then. I like the machines there but man I have to find another spot. I love their other staff but literally try to avoid her shift all together. Don't know why they'd get rid of good previous staff and somehow still keep her. How does management not see it if their customers can! Unfortunately, I won't be coming back to Elmer's and doubt I'll try their new one. read more

Came here for a birthday breakfast. Was dying to try the German pancake. Ordered the lingon berry version and it did not disappoint. Pancake, aka monster cake, came out super duper huge and looked intimidating at first, but the cooking process didn't produce an oily goopy mess. It was light, airy, almost crepe-y like, and had the eggy flavor I was looking forward to - total win for my taste buds :-) Only down side is - Now I'm sad because there's no place in the Bay Area (that I know of, at least) that serves German pancakes :-( anyone know of a place, please do let me know. Thank you!!! Have to mention - the coffee, OJ, and protein items: bacon (thick cut, crunchy, yummy smokiness), sausage (not nuked, juicy and cooked to perfection) and eggs (super fresh tasting) were all on point. We also had the sun "something" (can't remember the full name) omelette - with a chipotle sauce - was awesome. I don't normally like omelettes with salsa but this one was done right, and did not end up a sloppy mess, in spite of the bacon, cheese, green onions and chipotle sauce enclosed within. Kudos to the chef (or cook) who did an excellent job on our entire bday bkfast. Have this place bookmarked and will make sure to visit as often as possible (aka whenever we're in the vicinity of one). read more

This isn't a place for young families, at least that's how our server made us feel. We were probably the youngest group and it was obvious that we were treated differently. Our requests were brushed off, no one really checked on us. Our server kept it short the whole time not once asking how we were. I was shocked and kind of irritated. I come in and pay the same money as every other customer, why should my service be any different because of my age.. 4 stars because the food definitely made up for the service. We stopped in on our way north since we were staying at a nearby hotel. Our waiter, Mike, was very good. He answered our questions and when we asked for recommendations, he broke it down by type of food we were thinking about. He checked in on us just the right amount of times (not too much, not too little). I had the Avocado Benedict with a side of fruit. It was delicious, the fruit consisted of bananas, watermelon, and grapes, they were a good texture and didn't taste frozen. The Avocado Benedict was flavorful and just the right amount of food. My dad had the Chicken Bacon Ranch salad, he made the mistake of ordering a Full instead of Lite, it was a ton of food, but delicious. My mom had the halibut with rice and veggies. The fish was great, but the rice and veggies were lackluster. All in all, it's a decent place to stop in, like Denny's, I would recommend sticking to breakfast items. I always believe it's hard to screw up basic breakfast if your serve it everyday, but I find out it's possible. So this choice at Elmer's was worse, had the Rancher's breakfast...utensils didn't look clean, got another set, eggs over easy was way too runny, greasy burnt black sausages on one side, and greasy bacon...would not ever be back and I do not recommend. Great greeting by the young dark haired gentleman, good fish and chips with awesome coleslaw, but my server needs more training. She is nice, but not friendly (if that's possible) but she didnt ask how my meal was, didnt clear my plate when I was finished, didnt fill my water, didnt offer dessert and didnt give the discount I was offered even when reminded her. Overall I think she just doesn't want to be there. The bartender seems like a hoot even though I didnt have a cocktail. She came out to bring decaf to a guest and was super funny. This restaurant has the best omelettes I've eaten since I was at the Broken Egg in Los Gatos, CA. Absolutely delicious vegetable omelet with hollandaise sauce. Hash browns are crispy yummy.
