It's across from St. Paul's Hospital, on Burrard. A great addition to the area. The space is clean and modern. I've been to the Ash & Broadway and 7th & Ontario locations before so tried this one. This location appears a bit more welcoming, even though it's the same company and type of decor. The cappuccino was smooth and balanced. They have some breakfast items, Earnest Ice Cream jars and baked good. A good variety of items for you to enjoy. read more

Best croissant in town!!! Buttery and not too cooked (as they should be!). They are so good I always take 2 (and I'm considering bringing some back to LA with me). I've tried many drinks: latte, cappuccino and hot chocolate and they all taste really good. They also have a very good avocado on toast with feta and several other warm option: egg on toast and cheese sandwich. the service is really good as well: I wanted their breakfast sandwich but since I couldn't have ham they offered to replace it with avocado. FOR FREE. This never happened to me, especially with avocado! Definitively a great breakfast spot. read more

Came here in the morning of their soft opening, just 3.5 h after the doors first opened! The place still smells a bit like fresh paint but nothing too overwhelming in the presence of fresh coffee aroma. The interior is modern and crisp. You can tell things are not quite ready as not all the shelves have been installed, but it's not their fault since they only received the key to the door like some 120 h ago! Really amazing work, if you ask me! So my cappuccino was rolled out a little slower than the other locations, and the art was a little weak. Oh well. Didn't get any pastry as I normally would since they should all taste the same, because they come from the same central bakery. Excited to come during grand opening! The ambiance is bright and welcoming, the staff are friendly, the coffee is delicious, and they have several sandwich and pastry options including vegan banana bread and vegan strawberry muffins. Such a great little coffee shop adjoining the lobby of the Burrard Hotel. I tried the tamarind latte and it was unique and flavorful. Quick and super friendly service. Like the Burrard, the atmosphere is clean and bright with simple lines and plenty of seating. They also serve local beer and wine. Perhaps a little hipster, but I do appreciate the options for the vegans and specialty dietary restrictions. Absolutely something for everybody. Best of all, very reasonable prices. read more

I came in to grab a coffee and to get some work done before an event and was surprisingly disappointed to find out that they didn't have wifi. I of course found out after I had ordered my coffee and had set up my little working station. Unfortunately they didn't have a London Fog since they don't have vanilla. However, after seeing my disappointment the barista was helpful and made me an earl grey tea with steamed milk instead. Bonus points for her wonderful customer service. I also grabbed a vegan banana loaf, which I believe was from To Die For bakery. I'm a fan of all To Die For baked goods, so this banana loaf was not any different. If you're planning to come in to just grab a quick drink, then this place is a great grab and go place. But if you're looking to sit down and work, this is not the place for you. read more

My colleague and I wanted to go to The Container coffee shop that was part of The Burrard Hotel, and found instead that its been replaced with Elysian Coffee recently. I ordered the Flourless Chocolate Cookie with a Almond Chai Latte (cold). My colleague got their Cheddar Scone (which looked really nice) and a coffee. All the food displayed looked nice and it looks like they serve sandwiches for less than $8 too. However, I just didn't like the taste of the food I got. My cookie was reeallyy hard, when I was expecting a gooey, freshly baked cookie like I normally get at bakeries; but I guess they're not a bakery. My Almond Chai Latte didn't taste like almond but there was another really strong taste to it I can't identify, but I wasn't fan. The barista was nice, the location had a patio that overlooked Burrard Street, and it had a nice relaxing vibe. I'll probably give them another chance - maybe I'll stick to more traditional coffee from them. read more

My friends and I just got in to Vancouver from the states. Just thought we'd walk around and grab a quick coffee. My bestfriend usually gets something with "vanilla" flavored. So she asked the girl on the register if they have anything like it since it's not on the menu. She could've politely said No but we got a snotty response instead. Visiting from Toronto, I looked for the best coffee place around and this shop came up. So when I reached there, I was on bike as Vancouver city is quite easily navigable, the server made a pre-judgment said and I quote "If you are here for delivery, that's next door." I didn't even had a deliv bag, I had a tote bag and last time I checked, delivery is not done in tote bags. And when I told him not to make pre judgement, he didn't even apologies and continued saying you are on a bike, so yeah. So I asked for manager, and manager even didn't apologies to make up for it, he said and I quote "I am sorry, I will speak to him, maybe come back again." So this is the customer service you have. I for once forgive the server but manager could have turned it around by saying, 'I am so sorry he jumped the gun there. I will train him properly and make sure these things never happen again. How about I personally help you out here.' Easy this should have been the answer. No one is looking for free coffee. I think the rating is gone up to their head and they don't lack on customer service as they take it for granted now. read more

I ordered a latte. It looked perfect with a little bit of fancy foam art but it tasted horrible. It has a terrible aftertaste. Definitely the worst coffee I have ever ordered. The baked goods were average. I had the Scottish shortbread and a danish. Wish you could change your tip after you get your food. A very simple and clean coffee house with straightforward drinks. The boy who helped me was actually really nice: I did the thing that probably annoys them and asked for a 'vanilla' latté,' and without being pretentious in the least (which can be hard to come by in coffee shops, let's be real), he told me they don't have flavor syrups and quickly--and kindly!--added, "But I can make you a regular latté!" Friendly staff always gets a big thumbs-up with me! And the latté itself was really good. (I actually went on their website after to learn more about their coffee and will be purchasing some!) Conveniently located in the lobby of the Burrard Hotel, this little gem of a coffee shop was a pleasant surprise bonus during our stay. Not that we don't all love in-room coffee at hotels, but it was lovely to be able to grab a good cup on our way out the door for the day. There was a wide selection of eats, sit-down or on-the-go, both savoury and sweet, and all of our choices were delicious. The baked goods were fresh and not overly sweetened. The staff was friendly and efficient. The limited seating seemed to work well for the location where the majority of the orders were take out. Value was good. I certainly enjoy the convenience of this spot, I work at the hospital across the street. Pretty thrilled to see Elysian take over, its been a few different things in the past couple years (Junction, Blenz). The decor is a little stoic but the aroma when you get inside is a heaven scent to your nose piece. I strictly order the Americano and it does not disappoint. The flavour is smooth, has never tasted burnt and its very fulfilling on every level. I drink them straight up; no dairy/soy/nut milk and no sugars. I am not sure if they have different sizes, my caffeine need/greed is sated with the amount given when I just ask for 'an Americano'. Once a week (or so) I treat myself to savoury scone because the Cheddar one is the figurative bee's knees. It is cooked to perfection, a crisp outside layer that is like a delicious edible armour that holds in a soft and fluffy pillow inside. Hints of green onion and !dill! highlight what I refer to as the best scone in the neighbourhood. There is a patio here if you want to sit next to traffic, they have lunch stuff (which i'm sure is great!) that I have yet to try and a number of sweet baked things as well. read more

I love this place! Wonderful coffee, teas, and a great breakfast. I had the poached eggs on toast. So delicious! My eggs were perfectly poached and the toast was buttered with some greens. So tasty! My colleague had the breakfast sandwich which she was very happy with. The cafe has a nice clean modern design and service is friendly. A great atmosphere to start your morning. Next time I am getting whatever special ice cream is in the fridge. Vegetarian options are at a medium with the fact that you can opt out of meat for things like breakfast sandwiches.
