Avoid this salon at all costs. I had an awful experience at this salon. The technician who worked on my pedicure clearly had no experience and was completely incompetent. Instead of a proper cuticle trim, she aggressively cut and dug into my nails below the nail bed, causing both toes to bleed profusely. The other technicians tried to stop the bleeding by wrapping towels around my foot. Management was no help at all and instead blamed me for the technician's lack of skill. I had to leave the salon barefoot because I couldn't wear a shoe due to the bleeding. I expected a relaxing and professional service, but this was the complete opposite. Now I'm concerned about a possible infection. I managed to reach the owner later that day, but he was in total denial and also seemed to blame me for what the technician did.
I discovered Em Nail Salon in my adventures around South Beach. It resides on 9th and Alton on the West side of South Beach. I had previously tried a different salon in the area which I hadn't been too thrilled with, so I was on the hunt for a new staple nail salon. I had an appointment for 11am on a Sunday and arrived a little bit early. Even though business hours technically hadn't started yet (they open at 12pm on Sundays), the door was unlocked and they started my right away. My nail tech, Yasmine, was super attentive to detail and took special care to not to damage my real nail upon taking off the previous dip manicure. The previous manicure (done elsewhere) had been so thick and it bothered me, so Yasmine ensure to make them not too thick, yet still strong. My blue French dip manicure came out exactly as I wanted. Feminine, dainty, and most importantly natural looking!
EM Nail Salon has been on a downward decline for a long time, but until yesterday's experience, I was willing to let it slide because this is certainly the most convenient nail salon for where I live. But the way my friend and I were treated yesterday was the last straw. We had appointments for pedicures at 11:45am, which were made and confirmed online (since no one at this place has answered the phone for months). Upon timely arrival, we were immediately met with attitude from the staff, who essentially told us that our confirmed appointments didn't matter. After 5 minutes of waiting, we were told they were "running 10 minutes late" and invited to come back in the afternoon. At that point, the staff became rude and aggressive towards us, blaming us and the salon owner for confirming our appointments at the time allotted, and saying "they don't control how the scheduling is done." Being on the receiving end of such unwarranted attitude and aggression was the last straw. And to add insult to injury, I received an email cancellation that my 12pm appointment with "Karen" was cancelled shortly after we left (not only was this the incorrect time for my appointment, but it was also seeming effort to further aggrieve the situation to change the tech's name to "Karen" when submitting the cancellation (in the system they claim not to control)) (photo included). I'd been a loyal customer of EM Nail Salon since they opened over a decade ago (to wit: my original review from 13+ years ago). It's such a shame to see a quality small, local business be run into the ground. I highly doubt I will ever return.
I went at 6:15 pm and it was closed. The receptionist didn't even come out to say anything, she just made a No service gesture with his hand. On yelp says was open also they have a schedule at the door that works until 8:00 pm and they don't even bother to approach the door to say we are closed sorry for the inconvenience and close early. I don't understand what kind of service is this. I came from far away looking for this place and wasted my time. Fui a este salon a las 6:15 pm y estaba cerrado. la recepcionista nisiquiera salio a decir nada tan solo hizo un gesto de No hay servicio a lo lejos. como es posible en yelp dice que esta abierto tienen un horario en la puerta que funciona hasta laa 8:00 pm y nisiquiera se toman la molestia de acercarse a la puerta a decir estamos cerrados disculpen la molestia por el cambio de horario. no entiendo este tipo de servicio. vine desde muy lejos buscando este lugar y perdí mi tiempo.
This is my favorite nail shop-Jennifer makes my nails look sensational every time. She is humble but she really is talented! Aside from the skill I also enjoy the atmosphere of the shop-very professional! 5 stars at everything: service, professional team, and very kind stuff. I had been tried several places before, and this one do the best acrylic.
This was my first time coming to EM Nail Salon and I had a wonderful experience. The salon was clean and they were taking all the extra steps to make sure everyone was safe. Dani did my gel manicure, gel pedicure, and wax. She has very great attention to detail and took her time to ensure the best quality of service. I am planning on being a regular. Thank you, Dani!

Woohoot! I couldn't be happier! I have found my "go to" nail salon in Miami. I was desperate! I called about four other salons and was beginning to feel exhausted yelping other salons in the Miami Beach area. I'm always skeptical because.. it's hard w reviews and I know it's impossible to make everyone happy. Regardless, I decided to take a chance and I'm so glad I did. Lorena was fantastic!! In my 20 years of getting my nails done. She is by far the most gentle! She is extremely detailed and exceptionally skilled in her craft. With her precision, you would have thought she was painting a Mona Lisa haha! I hit a The salon is clean and the team was very professional. Prices were a little more steep than what I'm used to in San Diego .. but it was worth it, no complaints here. My only tiny little gripe is that it took a long time .. a little over 3 hours for a fill and gel pedi.. BUT, Lorena was so good it doesn't even matter, like I mentioned she was extremely detailed .. so it was a win for me. I'm so happy, I will definitely be returning! read more

I paid $160 on September 17th, and by September 28th my nails were already chipped and broken. On top of that, they tried to charge me an extra $80 just for the gel builder itself, which would've brought my total to $240 -- way too much for nails that didn't even last two weeks. The nail tech was very sweet, so I don't blame her, but the salon's pricing and quality don't match up. My nails were filed so thin that they hurt, and for what I paid, the results were extremely disappointing. Now I'll have to spend another $120 to fix my nails elsewhere -- but I'll gladly do it knowing I'm paying for quality that actually lasts. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this salon. . read more

I've been here a couple of times before and had a great experience but today was really weird and bizarre, my Manicure was just not looking good so I said something a couple of times and the lady seemed irritated with me, I thought I said it politely and I apologized and then other staff members kept giving me weird looks like I had done something wrong and I don't understand what I did wrong by speaking up? They were being so friendly and nice to all the other customers and giving me weird looks, didn't thank me when I left, didn't say bye to me when I left, it was like they were all mad at me, I even left a 25% tip to be nice I didn't want to be thought of as a difficult customer, I've worked at a nail salon before, something just wasn't right with the manicure the polish has all these bubbles in it, I don't know if you can see all the bubbles in the photo, it was a weird experience read more

This was my first time coming to EM Nail Salon and I had a wonderful experience. The salon was clean and they were taking all the extra steps to make sure everyone was safe. Dani did my gel manicure, gel pedicure, and wax. She has very great attention to detail and took her time to ensure the best quality of service. I am planning on being a regular. On Dec. 24 I went for pedicure and the lady cut my foot with a metal file. I felt pain and the foot bleed. I told the lady who was doing my foot and the one that was standing behind the counter that they should throw the metal file in the garbage, cos it could hurt more people, they looked at me like I am a crazy lady. I was the one that was asking for care, because they did not even offer. I asked for a disinfectant and band aid.It was an 1inche cut. After a long while, the lady that cut my foot said she was sorry! So I had to finish my Xmas shopping walking very very uncomfortably, with the side on my foot. read more

I went to Em Nail Salon with a friend to get a manicure before a cruise. We didn't have appointments but they were happy to take us and made us feel welcome. I originally wanted a bright, tropical color but I settled on a green chrome. WOW! Rosio did a fantastic job! I don't think i've ever been this happy with how a manicure turned out. She was very meticulous and nice and even offered me tea during my manicure. My friend got a pedicure from another technician and was very happy with it. I usually head to Miami once a year to take a cruise and get away from the winter blues in NYC. I plan on making a trip to Em Nail Salon a tradition from now on! read more

If you want your nails painted it's a nice clean salon but if you want cuticles removed and a proper manicure don't spend the money. I've tried 3 different manicurist here and they all just paint and move the cuticle cutter around but you leave $60 later with the same cuticles you walked in with. read more

This was THE best mani of my life. I highly recommend asking for Kim. She did an impeccable job, knew exactly what I wanted in both color and shape. She also made sure to take extra time and care to ensure everything was *just* right. Very clean and comfortable salon, tons of (current!) magazines to read, and excellent music playing. All around, the best salon I have been to in SoBe by far. Once gain, Kim's service was beyond outstanding!! read more

SUCH a great place...Just had my nails done today after reading great reviews, and I have to agree. Yanelis did my mani/pedi, and was very meticulous about the entire process. I came out feeling like a million bucks, and for the service and outcome, paid hardly what anyone would expect to pay on South Beach. It's all new, all clean, and has the best service menu to choose from. I actually got the gel-polish on my fingers, and was told to expect them to last 2 weeks. I finally found "my" nail salon on the beach :) read more

The atmosphere of salon is extremely friendly and nice. You want to come back just because technicians and even customers are always positive. Also, salon is clean, nicely designed, music is "loungy". Plus is a good option to have a walk-in appointments, you never wait long for someone to take care of your nails. I have never walked out of there u satisfied with the work they have done. Before I had a problem with layering and slow growth, but after I've became a frequent customer at salon, I don't have these issues anymore. And I have to thank Lucy for greatest customer service. She is amazing! Experience overall is satisfactory and you leave a salon with great energy boost for entire day. I definitely recommend it! read more

The best gem of a nail salon with an awesome and friendly staff. I've been going consistently for months and I see Mariela. She is AMAZING. Always pays attention to the small details that usually get skipped over or rushed, which makes the biggest difference. She takes her time and shapes/paints beautifully. I've never been disappointed! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a reliable nail salon. read more

If you're looking for a solid nail salon in Miami Beach, that has reasonable prices does an amazing job... this is the spot. The only reason I would not come here is because they are fully booked. My last visit, I lucked out and got "V", who is a very nice and funny Thai girl. She KNOWS what she's doing. Great pedi. She also gave me one of the best foot massages I've ever had... my eyes rolled to the back of my head. Instant relaxation!! read more
