The tables here are well distanced which I can really appreciate given the rising number of COVID cases with this new Delta variant. We went to Embargo last weekend to celebrate our Anniversary because we heard it was a great place for dancing, but we went for dinner as well. It was the perfect place for a celebration. The ambience is stunning, the food was fantastic (best steak tips ever!) the Martini's were excellent (salted caramel was so good!) and the staff was superb. Our waitress Raquel was so attentive, service was timed perfectly and the manager stopped by to greet us- such a nice guy! I noted to my husband that it must be a great place to work because everyone there seemed to really take their jobs seriously but they looked very happy, too. Beautiful smiles all around! We were looking to sit and eat at the bar. We found this great place and was greeted right away. We ordered drinks and they didn't have diet soda, so I settled for Tito's and regular soda. While ordering our dinner, they went and bought diet soda for me! We ordered the seafood tower and new England seafood casserole. Both were absolutely amazing. Thank you Dave and Angie! Out of everywhere that we've eaten on this beautiful Cape Cod peninsula, Embargo would be my favorite place. We came here 3 times in a single week, it must be good right? Initially we found this place on Groupon. I bought it and then started doing research on the restaurant, later finding out that they have an "Appy Hour" all day on Tuesdays. So we came on Monday, Tuesday and again on Thursday to use the Groupon. Atmosphere/Appearance: Quite fancy if I must add. The big oval-sapped bar is the center of attention. Around it are several decent-sized half-moon shaped booths and near the front entrance are some regular tables. The inside is very classy with it's dark ambiance and colorful LED lights that really come alive at night. Happy hour was pretty busy, but after about 10:00pm is when the tables in the front get moved and the area becomes a dance floor! Now it's a party! The crowd certainly livens up and is a great place to come hang out. Oh! We can't forget the ample room on the patio with lots of outdoor seating for people watching along Main Street. Lol. Service: Awesome each and every time. I think our first bartender's (yes, we sat right at the bar, twice) name was Danielle maybe? She was just awesome. The menu was so extensive so she broke everything down, kept the drinks flowing and was an absolute pleasure to talk to since we weren't from the area. Food: Oh man. Where do I begin?! Lol. So on Monday and Tuesday we came strictly for the 1/2 off tapas that they offer from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. If you look on the menu there's a lil' asterisk next to the ones that are NOT discounted at this time. There are quite a few, but many more options to choose from. During our 3 visits I managed to cover quite a few tapas. So here they are in no particular order. I started off with their Curried Chicken Salad Lettuce Wraps which are made of toasted coconut shavings, dried cranberries and of course curried chicken. It's served cold and was pretty good, but you only get 2 so it definitely leaves you wanting more. Well, they're tapas so yeah, they'll small plates for a reason. Lol. Next up were the Pan Seared Scallops. They're cooked very well, seasoned with truffle parmesan basmati and served over arugula then topped rioja honey. They were delicious and a great addition to the menu. Looking at the menu now I no longer see these, but we had their Spicy Roasted Brussels Sprouts which are tossed with olive oil, red pepper flakes and pecorino. They were quite delicious, crispy and full of flavor. You know we had to get some vegetables in the mix. Ha. Also not on the menu anymore, I was able to try their Grilled Lamb Lollipop. Sounds interesting right? It's a small lamb chop drizzled with a light citrus sauce and served with a tomato compote. The lamb chop is delicious, but the sauce was lacking. A bit thin and didn't really go well with the meat in my opinion. Now there's a sauce that comes with their lamb meatballs (which I'll get to soon that's more yogurt based) that would go and did go so much better with the lamb chop. Next was their Baked Three-Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms. They're stuffed with magic and drizzled with a short rib au jus. These were my favorite tapa on the menu. They were practically addicting and I may have had 4 orders over the course of the 3 days. Next was "Gambas al Ajillo" which is a classic Spanish-style garlic roasted shrimp. It was okay. It fell short and I was a bit disappointed in how light the flavor really was. Next up is my 2nd favorite tapa, the Lamb Meatballs which are served with Tzaziki sauce, topped with mint, oil, rioja honey and crunchy pitas. They are served piping hot and are just bursting with flavor. Basically perfect. On one of the days where I didn't use a Groupon I ventured off the tapas menu and got the Kobe Beef Sliders w/ crispy bacon, pickled red onion and chipotle ketchup. I added Swiss cheese because I was feeling fancy. These were quite delicious and I ended up with 2 orders throughout the 3 visits. I got to taste their Braised Short Rib with La Mancha sauce. It was served with a type of coleslaw that complemented it very well. I really liked them. Finally, I was able to try their Grilled Churrasco-Style Sirloin Steak. It's served with sliced crispy onions and chimichurri. Delicious. Embargo really KILLED IT with their tapas menu and the fact that you can get most of these for 1/2 off almost any day of the week blows my mind! Of course we can't forget their house-made infused liquors. Up on shelves in the bar area you'll see these 2 huge glass jugs with a lot of fruit in them. When I was there they featured a blueberry infused tequila and an orange vodka. I managed to try both! They're delicious. They let the fruit sit in the liquor overnight and into the morning which just draws all the flavors out and into the drink. I've run out of room so I have to wrap this up. Lol. Get the Groupon or come on Tuesdays or during their "Appy Hour" to get the best deal. read more

Wow is all I can say! Drinks were great I appreciated the zero proof section of mocktails :) Food was excellent every single dish was delicious and had no faults. We ordered the pan seared scallops, Guinness braised short rib, and mussels to start phenomenal. I had the filet mignon/peppercorn sauce with mashed potatoes and asparagus, it was perfectly cooked and the best steak I've ever had well worth the money. My fiancé had the blackened sword fish with parm risotto, he said it was excellent. To top it off our server John was amazing, attentive and helpful. We will be back for sure. read more

I don't understand all the haters. This place was fantastic from start to finish. We sat outside, and ordered tapas, entrees, and cocktails. They had great gluten-free options for us. I had the two bourbon-based cocktails, both of which were perfectly balanced and tasty. We enjoyed the scallops so much that we ordered a second helping. First, my fiancé and I got the worst seats in the house which was basically against the wall and we could see the alleyway, after waiting almost an hour to be seated. Their outside menu was different from inside because they didn't change it. Even with the menu they did have, my fiancé couldn't get what he wanted cuz they were out. Ok, I dwelt with it. Until he was served first and he waited patiently for 15 minutes and my dinner hadn't come yet. I told the waitress that we will only pay for our Coronas because service was awful. She then caught an attitude with me and we left. The portions were so small that it would make u hungry to have to eat elsewhere. My 1st & last time there. I went out with my cousin and 2 other girls on Saturday, April 13th and we wanted to sit at the bar for drinks. We felt that it was rude to get a table if we weren't eating. As soon as me and my cousin (who are of color) try to sit at the bar, the bar tender ( A man with dark hair) instantly told me and my cousin to leave along with the other 2 girls. We were told that we were "over crowding". we asked why and he said "just leave". Worst experience I ever had. Before we left one of the girls paid for her drink and even tipped as the bigger person in the situation. Very disappointed in the service. read more

The waitstaff is awesome and the atmosphere is good. Maybe it's COVID??? Every time we come to this restaurant we have a good time. The service is wonderful. It's a great bar scene and even if you're not sitting at the bar, there's lots to watch and see. We love to go during half-price tapas. We have some delicious drinks and enough tapas to share across the group. There's something for everyone here. Last time we went my brother had fried chicken, my dad had oysters Rockefeller and I had sliders. We shared Mexican corn. All good. It's amazing to me that they can serve such a variety of food and still have it all come out well. Quite a feat. We continue to go through winter spring summer and fall. It's always the same. Who wants to serve kids on Valentine's Day? My husband and I wanted to celebrate where we met with our 10 year old twin boys. We made reservations and were given the best table in the house. Our server treated our kids with kindness and patience. He answered their questions and made sure they had everything they could have wanted and more- Shirley temples for the win!! We each had one drink from the bar. The martini was ice cold and they even had his favorite tequila stocked. All of the food was fresh, hot and delicious. While we were waiting at the bar for our table to be ready, my friends ordered drinks and showed their legal IDs. Since I was the designated driver for the night, I did not order a drink and was never asked to show ID. When I went to the bathroom, the bartender rudely told my friends they could not be served as he was under the impression that I was underage and sneaking drinks in the bathroom. It is appalling that we were treated this way when I was only trying to be responsible by not drinking. The customer service showed to us by the entire staff after this incident was horrible and caused us to leave. I will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

Arrived around 9pm on Sunday evening. Sat at table pushed up to the bar. We were greeted by our server as well as the bartender. I ordered a tres agaves margarita - it was large and delicious. My friend order the starburst drink and as "dessert" ordered the Oreo cookie martini pictured. The bartender recommended a special, "Day After Rolls", essentially thanksgiving style egg rolls. 5 star is an understatement. My fav go to place for drinks, food and a night with friends qhen at the Cape. Pick almost anything off the menu is awesome and order the following you'll never go wrong. Smoked salmon and creame cheese crostini, cajun grilled shrimp skewer, fried buffalo oysters, baked oysters Rockefeller(!!!), baked 3 cheese stuffed mushrooms, coconut jumbo shrimp, classic spanish roasted shrimp, and love the tuna tower. Not worth the price point. There's a reason you'll only see people in here at the Bar. Drinks are great but the food is an actual rip off. $10 for a 5 slices of vegetables tempura fried, $10 for half an artichoke, $10 for about 12 shishito peppers. Portions need to be fair to price point or adjust the pp down. Having been here several times over the past 4 years, we don't anticipate anything changing however. read more

The food was delicious! We loved the tapas servings so we could taste several dishes. The jazz was world class - how can you miss with Gray Sargent and Marshall Wood who were Tony Bennett's guitar and bass players respectively. Gary Johnson is the drummer and one of the few that can make the drums sing the melody in his solo. This is no surprise because Gary grew up in a musical household - he is the son of Dick Johnson who was the leader of the Artie Shaw Band. Last but not least and not to be overlooked is Joe Delaney, the band leader and keyboard maestro. Fabulous food, music and drinks - it's a winner all around. I can't wait to go back! read more

We liked the look of this place and put aside the reviews to take a chance. There was a fabulous jazz band Playing quite the mix of songs which was the icing on the cake. We ordered several tapas along with martinis and everything was delicious. The lobster ravioli was soooo good! Our waiter Blake was fantastic and attentive. Had excellent meal at Embargo this week. Delicious tapas, calamari, shrimp, etc, with good background music, not too loud or over-crowded environment. The woman who served us our drinks and food (Kaela) was terrific, and really made a huge difference in our experience at Embargo (very nice personality, responsive, and friendly). Have never been disappointed when I go to Embargo, we usually go during the week though as it can get crowded on weekends. Parking was easy behind the museum and a 5 minute walk. My wife also really enjoyed the ceviche, which was fresh and uniquely in a martini glass with a single chip. We live locally and have been going to Embargo for years. The food is always excellent and their menu is diverse with lots of options to choose from including sushi, vegetarian, meat and seafood. We always sit at their bar, which is beautiful! They also have outdoor seating. The staff is awesome and friendly, and the owners are the best! They organize several community fundraising events at their restaurants every year including serving Thanksgiving dinner to anyone that wants to join. read more
