I've ordered from here and been here many times and I love the jalapeno pasta, it is so flavorful and huge, I love having it for leftovers. Comes with broccoli and mushrooms so I love getting my veggies in as well. I can tell the food here is made with good ingredients because I have a sensitive stomach and it isn't bothered too much by the food I eat here! The chickpea wrap is flavorful with their tzatziki sort of sauce on the side. I've had the Caesar salad and that was super flavorful! This lemonade was so refreshing. They have outdoor seating, a bar inside and friendly staff that greets you when you come in and when you leave. It's American food with a bit of a spin, Mediterranean influence as well.

Amazing restaurant with great food and excellent customer service. I love this staple for delicious healthy food options. I had the Oriental Salad and opted to add grilled salmon for protein. My table mates ordered the Chicken salad croissant sandwich, which the owner later came and sat with us and shared the story of how her mother prepared it for her and the secret ingredient that makes it so delicious. She shared stories of each dish on the menu and its significance in her life or her sons, and why they were chosen. The food is consistently great each and every time I visit and the customer service is the best. Definitely visit this beautiful venue with great food. Lots of vegan and gluten free options and their cocktail selection is the best.

Came here for a quick bite for lunch and the food was amazing. The quinoa bowl is definitely filling with lots of assorted veggies. One bowl with all the nutrients you need. The wings are average, they were really soft which was kind of weird. The environment was nice and I definitely want to visit during their happy hour. The waiter was really attentive and friendly.

Came for a solo HRW experience - the staff were very welcoming and my waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and offered great suggestions. I started off with a drink off their happy hour menu (which was generous, like weekdays 3-6pm). I got a spicy margarita for $7 that was refreshing & had a nice kick. 1st & 2nd course came out together: Caesar salad & turkey samosa were quite good! The salad had the addition of sundried tomatoes & Brussels sprouts to elevate their take of the traditional Caesar. The samosas tasted fresh and warm but I wish it had a tad more spice or flavor to it. 3rd course: Lamb chops were fairly decent, a bit on the smaller size. HRW portion only comes with 1 lamb chop so I paid extra for an additional lamb chop (honestly much needed because otherwise it wouldn't have been filling). Flavor-wise, the sauce was a sweet apricot so be mindful of it and the broccoli was bland. 4th course: tiramisu was delicious! It's made in house and was the perfect treat to end the meal. Their regular menu seemed extensive so I'd come back to explore more meals.

I came in a Saturday for brunch. We sat at the bar and service was ok. I ordered a mimosa and my entree. Unfortunately my first order had a hair in it. We brought it to our server's attention and she sent over the manger. The manger had it remade and took it off my bill which was very generous. The second time was a charm as the food was very good and filling. Bathroom was clean and huge parking lot out front as it's in a plaza of businesses.

Me and my friends were looking for something healthy near the memorial city area and found this place through Yelp. As a vegetarian they had many vegetarian items so we decided to go here! It was 12pm on a Sunday and I was thankful they had a huge plaza parking lot. We were seated and checked out the menu, there were so many options- the jalapeño pasta looked good for us so 3/4 of us decided to order it. I am a bit sensitive to spicer food but thought it's just jalapeños so I could handle it. When the pasta came it was hot! It was creamy yet spicy and flavored so well! I also tried some of the truffle fries we got as a table and they were also Flavored well! So yum! We had a great time here as vegetarians! I do want to go back and try some of their other options. Highly recommend in memorial area!

Eat local, eat often! Service and atmosphere: The service was outstanding during our visit. The staff were friendly, helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable. The restaurant was clean, spacious, organised, and played good music. You can choose your table both inside and outside. Food and drinks: The menu was well designed and helped navigating through various food and drinks selection. The food choices were great. All dishes ordered arrived on time were well presented and tasted great too. Good hearty fresh ingredients that were well seasoned and delivered on the flavours front. Pricing: $$ - worth the flavours and great customer experience.

If Ember & Greens has no fans then I'm dead.. lol I honestly loveee this place. The food is amazing and the customer service is fantastic. This has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. I always order the skewers! So much food and so flavorful, it comes with the quinoa it's so fresh and light and lemony. The sriracha cauliflower bites are so dang good too! I've made my friends and coworkers come here doing restaurant weeks and I converted them to being big fans! Their deal came with the an appetizer, a main, and a dessert! When my friend and I ordered the crème brûlée and they ran out, they comped our dessert and we got to choose a different one that wasn't on the restaurant weeks menus which was so nice. Again I love this place, so I recently had them cater for my birthday party. The owner I believe is Iman and he was the sweetest when we were communicating to have everything good to go for my event. They delivered it for free and everyone loved the food. Couldn't recommend this place enough!!

5-Star Review -- Ember & Greens (Houston, TX) Stopped in for brunch at Ember & Greens, and what an amazing experience! Ordered the Chicken & Waffles (perfectly crispy and delicious! ), the Coal-Fire Roasted Shakshouka -- full of bold flavor -- along with Fresh Bread & Garlic Olive Oil to start. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked. What really set this visit apart was the incredible hospitality. The owner personally came to our table to welcome us and made us feel truly valued as guests. You don't find that level of personal attention everywhere -- it made the whole experience extra special. Definitely planning to return to explore more of the menu. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a fantastic brunch or a standout meal in Houston!

    Al Pastor Flatbread
    Jason Z.

Located in a shopping plaza alongside I-10 with plenty of parking in front. There are both indoors and outdoor seating and the menu focuses on the healthier options that have more greens and grilling; they also have a pizza oven indoors hence the pizza and flatbread options on the menu. We got cauliflower bites and brussel sprouts for apps. Both were solid and tasty; I would've opted for a different sauce for the cauliflower that was less heavy. I got the chipotle ensalada for my main with steak and the Al pastor flatbread. The dressing on the salad wasn't really to my liking and the salad was a bit too reliant on iceberg lettuce vs higher grade greens like arugula or others. The steak was also a bit underseasoned and bland. The flatbread was tasty and could've been a pizza instead to better hold the sauce and toppings. Service was fine and it seemed like a fairly popular spot for the younger audience. Solid spot overall.

The décor, wine list, menu, comfortable seating, and cozy atmosphere make it such a special spot. They offer wines for every taste and budget, and the staff is knowledgeable when asked for recommendations. That's why this is difficult for me to write. Despite visiting frequently, I've consistently found the customer service to be unwelcoming. The service has a strange tone, and it isn't limited to one employee they all seem to share the same indifferent, slightly annoyed demeanor. The experience feels less like genuine hospitality and more like, "You're here what can I get you?" On my most recent visit, others in my group noticed and commented on the same thing without any prompting from me. Since they had never been before, it confirmed that it wasn't just my perception. One small interaction captured the overall tone. We asked whether they happened to have a birthday candle, and an employee responded in an annoyed tone by pointing to the candle on our table which, realistically, no one would put on a birthday dessert. We completely understood that they might not have one; it wasn't an unreasonable expectation or request. A simple, friendly response like, "Unfortunately, we don't, but we do have some delicious desserts," would have been perfectly fine. It wasn't the answer that bothered us. it was the way we were made to feel for asking. It may seem like a small interaction, but great hospitality is built on small moments. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting, but unfortunately, the service doesn't reflect that same feeling. People return to places where they feel welcomed and appreciated, especially in a city like Houston with so many wonderful food and wine options. I genuinely want The Library to thrive because it has everything else it needs to remain a true neighborhood favorite.

Favorite thing about this dish was the flavorful crust of the fish that shined through. The presentation was good with the microgreens, coriander, and onions adding color. The package included a wine tasting and food pairing for up to 16 guests, and I paid more than $1,000 for the experience. When I contacted the winery to schedule our tasting, the ladies who assisted me were pleasant and helpful. I followed every requirement, submitted my guests' names in advance, and even visited the winery beforehand to tour the property. Although we were celebrating my birthday, I respected the restrictions and did not bring a cake, balloons, decorations, or anything else that was prohibited. The winery itself is absolutely beautiful, and the wine and food pairings were enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service during our tasting felt unnecessarily rigid and prevented the experience from being as welcoming and memorable as it could have been. Our tasting host seemed focused on keeping to a strict schedule and moving through the presentation. When members of our group raised their hands to ask questions, we often felt as though our participation was an inconvenience. During the vineyard tour, it was extremely hot because our event took place in July, so we hoped to move through that portion a little more quickly. Our host also appeared bothered by our desire to take pictures, even though we were simply enjoying the beautiful property and celebrating the occasion. Before the event, I requested traditional-height tables and chairs because several older ladies were attending and the low couches would be more difficult for them. I was told this could not be accommodated because Saturdays were busy and other parties would be using the room. However, our group was the only party in that room for the entire time we were there. While the room was gorgeous, the lack of flexibility was disappointing. Another issue that made me uncomfortable was the repeated reference to our experience as a "donated tasting." While the winery donated the package to the fundraiser, it was not donated to me. I purchased it at auction for more than $1,000. Continuously describing it that way felt dismissive and made us feel as though our experience was somehow less valuable than that of a regular paying customer. Ironically, other guests at the winery were warmer and more accommodating than some of the staff. They graciously offered to take pictures for us and complimented our group on how lovely we looked. We also purchased several bottles of wine at the end of the tasting. Overall, the winery is beautiful, the wine is good, and I am still interested in joining the wine club and returning. However, I hope the owners will provide additional customer-service training and encourage the staff to show greater warmth and reasonable flexibility. A wine experience should be about more than moving through a presentation and checking boxes. Guests should feel welcomed, appreciated, and excited to return--especially when the ultimate goal is to introduce new customers to the winery and build lasting relationships. This review definitely would have been four or possibly five stars if the service would have matched the beauty of the property.
