The meal at Ember was excellent. I had the veal chop, brother-in-law had the sea bass, and my wife had the filet which were all top notch. The service from the entire staff was the best experience in a very long time. I mentioned my birthday in Open Table, and they started off with a birthday card, then a glass of champagne for all of us, a sampling of soup, a small salad for each of us, a chocolate dessert, and a Filipino dessert. Had a wonderful birthday celebration at Ember! Our server Ryan was outstanding. The ambiance, the food, and the overall experience was phenomenal. The service was first class with complementary horsderves and desserts. They even welcomed us with a glass of champagne to celebrate my husband's birthday, and prepped the table with a nice birthday card. Very thoughtful and excellent service all around. Not to mention, the food was absolutely delicious. Our party shared the seafood tower and hot stone wagu. We ordered the salmon plate and bison short rib (which was amazing). I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in a nice upscale dining experience. They also have a piano in the front with live music in the evenings. My friend and I enjoyed a staycation at the casino and stopped by for an early dinner. I usually have low expectations for casino restaurants and was very pleasantly surprised by the initial impressions both for the beautiful setting and the wonderful service ( looking at you Amber from Embers). We had an appetizer of shrimp cocktail that was beautifully presented and the shrimp were delicious and tasted of the sea.We were also treated to an "amuse Bouche' from the chef of lobster salad on a buttery grilled round of brioche..outstanding,I would love to make a meal of these! I had a wonderful filet and my companion had the breast of duck and we shared a side of the grilled corn, something I will order again as it was so delicious . The only downside was when I ordered a smokey Old Fashioned and the server took the top off and blew all the smoke in my face. He did the same for my friend who also ordered one. A true fine dining restaurant found as an oasis in the desert. What makes this place special is the full dining experience. Enter to a piano playing with a jazz singer in the lounge. You are seated and professionally met by your wait staff who offer you a complimentary glass of champagne and small appetizer. Our waiter Frenchy is a true professional. Always there when you need him but not hovering over you so you could enjoy a conversation and cocktail. Food was very good, fresh, properly prepared and served hot. Our table had the Buffalo short ribs, filet and rack of lamb. Our couple who we were with were celebrating their wedding anniversary and they came with a complimentary dessert. This is going to be long but deservedly so. If you don't immediately make reservations after reading this...you may want to have your head examined and rethink your entire existence. What to say about Ember at We-Ko-Pa resort and casino? Let's start with the obvious. While geographically and architecturally, its name is what it is, this gem is by NO MEANS a "restaurant in a casino". My wife and I have traveled the world enjoying fine dining experiences of every type, including the best Scottsdale and Paradise Valley has to offer. Those establishments cannot touch what Ember "brings to the table", literally and figuratively. This means something because I'm the most "specific diner" (some may say picky), that any restaurant will ever encounter. In reality, I know what I like and what I do not like and will modify my dish EVERY SINGLE TIME. Typically, this behavior is frowned upon, snubbed and outright refused by some of the most "artistic" (pretentious) chefs on the planet who would rather ruin your dining experience than be a little flexible. All in the name of ego. This philosophy DOES NOT EXIST HERE. From the minute we were introduced to General Manager Brent Rumph (to address a minor, menu change oversight), we knew we were in for something unique for our 35th anniversary. I always tell people an excellent dining experience for me is a well-blended combination of the food and the staff experience. This establishment has those qualities in spades. To begin with, Brent is like me: a mix of Mr. Wolf from Pulp Fiction, Raymond Reddington from Backlist and Silvio from Sopranos. For those who don't watch television or movies..... He solves problems, while thinking outside of the proverbial box, addressing needs with utmost class and style. Old school enough that he just exudes COOL. In a nutshell, he is just a dashing, sophisticated straight shooting, gentleman who immediately puts you at ease. Not an easy task with me. This facility is lucky to have landed such a guy. For our anniversary we were treated to a few surprises early on and I will just tell you their wagyu meatballs and pork fat are decadent. Must have experiences. Our server Alyssa...what a treat. Personality, charisma and a smile that could disarm the feistiest of curmudgeonly old diners, like myself. Just a very sweet young lady with a great sense of humor, natural grasp of people skills relative to a serving environment and clearly happy to be part of the entire dining experience On to the food and Chef Richard Pelz. I judge a restaurant by its veal. Period. I'm Italian, from Chicago. I know good veal. Anyone can make a good steak but veal.... You must have otherworldly culinary skills to treat veal as it should be treated. So that it just melts invitingly into your anxiously awaiting maw. I often say "it's the desperation that makes veal taste so good". In this case...that is not the case. I've eaten at Sinatra 's favorite places for veal and chef Pelz would easily "bury them all in the desert". It was the most incredible veal dining experience I've ever had the privilege to partake in. From the homemade Focaccia that could have flowed non-stop to our table like it was an element needed for human survival, to my wife's perfectly seasoned and cooked filet, melting with perfection as she took each bite.. He is a master, while still reserved and humble enough to share his enjoyment of a good pizza from our hometown Chicago favorite place. He visited our table more than once and we loved every minute of his engaging conversations. Dessert... my favorite dessert as a kid was when my father would bring out the ice cream, rum, cherries and other ingredients, and make everyone's favorite "flaming cherries jubilee". Ember has created their own take on this favorite from the past and kicked it up 5 or 10 notches. I won't spoil the experience by giving away the ingredients but...you must experience this dessert. Sadly, I lost my father this past year, but while the flames were igniting the dish, I swear I saw his face making that half smirk-smile he always made when he was sharing special magic with his children. This magic is here, at Ember. Brent and company visited and commiserated with us several times throughout our 1.5 hour blissful escape from the always unpleasant typical "casino hotel" experience. Ember was like an oasis away from the usual dry walk through a casino desert. I sure hope the powers that be are aware of the incredible team assembled at Ember. The sweetest touch was that we were given an anniversary card that was hand signed by front of house staff. I can't speak highly enough about this restaurant and the entire dining experience. We came here tonight to celebrate a birthday and were not disappointed. From the welcome at the front desk to leaving at the end everyone was fantastic! The ambiance was amazing, the service (our server was John) was outstanding. We even brought our 18 month granddaughter and everyone was fantastic and welcoming (which is not always the case in a high end restaurant). However, nothing surpassed the quality of the food. We had a wide range of dishes and there was not a bad one. From the Red Snapper fish special to the dry aged Kansas City steak it was cooked to perfection and delicious. Second time here on 12/24/22 for Christmas Eve dinner and highly disappointed and surprised by the poor food and service considering our 2021 Xmas Eve visit was so fantastic. The duck amuse bouche was cold, and when my hen with roasted vegetables entree arrived it was missing the actual hen. I didn't even mention it because our server John wanted to be anywhere but working that evening. Not friendly, rushed us through everything and was even slightly condescending. It was really terrible service. The place was empty too which I guess could contribute to the lack luster ambiance and energy but the meal was over $350 and for that money two stars is generous. We came Tuesday evening for my Grandmothers 80th birthday. They put us in a huge private dining room. It was an amazing experience for all of us. They had sliding pocket doors so it was very private and we could have good conversations without interruption. The waitress Alyssa was VERRY helpful and made sure we were well taken care of. She did an excellent job. We had the 32 oz, 20 oz ribeye, fillet, veal, shrimp cocktail and all the dessert. The ember margaritas were exceptional. Frenchie is an absolute asset to your team. His service far exceeds the rest of the team. He exudes 5 star service! Items from other runners or servers were brought to the table and just handed across my guests, something that I don't expect at a restaurant of the caliber and certainly something that could be taught by our server. Even the gent that appeared to be the expediter didn't show 5 star service. Everything was delicious, my husbands lobster was under and Frenchie looked at it and knew also. We started off early evening with Happy Hour. I started with a deliciously made whiskey sours and my wife had their house red. Bartender working with us was excellent with attention and service. We ordered 2 appetizers. 6 oysters and their wagyu meatballs. Our oysters came - 3 small & 3 large ones....delicious. We really enjoyed the meatballs the blend & flavor was on. We especially liked the polenta base with the tomato sauce. Main course was the chick breast for my wife and the veal for me. Compliments to the kitchen - outstanding dinner! A gem in the desert, with a small caveat. I took my wife here for Valentine's Day. The atmosphere is perfect for a date - very classy space with dimmed lights and a live piano/singer set up out front. The service was top notch - my wife got a rose, the waiter was friendly and helpful. The prix fixe menu they had for Valentine's Day was fantastic and a great value, really high-end cuisine. We opted for wine, but the drink list looked very creative and had some great options, even smoked concoctions. The food until dessert did not disappoint - we got a nice shrimp amuse-bouche of a perfectly prepared shrimp, homemade smoked salmon was perfect, my wife's beet salad was very creative. Next came the foie gras torchon - I typically prefer a seared preparation over torchon, but this might have been the best torchon I have had, even my wife, who typically does not like torchon at all loved it. Then I had one of the best filet mignons I've had an arizona with a creative mushroom dressing, while my wife had a yummy scallop paella dish. Fantastic food all around up to that point. The only disappointment were the desserts - they were just not to the level of the food that came before it. I got some kind of a chocolate cake that tasted like a basic chocolate cake you'd get at a birthday party. My wife's raspberry cake was better, but still lacked the flavor and the sophistication of the food before it. Overall, fantastic, if they could only get the desserts up to par, this would be a top dining destination in the Phoenix area. read more

Don't get the Valentines Day tasting menu. VERY small portions with AVERAGE taste. First course is 1 cocktail shrimp, 2nd course thin sliced cucumbers with 4 VERY thin slices of raw salmon, 3rd course margarita sorbet which tasted decent, but was less than a teaspoon. 4th course was the best portion per quality and taste. Would not recommend the duck as it was average flavor and only 4 thin slices. Order the filet instead. Last course was the dessert which was larger portion, but lacked flavor. Overall, this was our first and last experience. If you are dining would recommend ordering off regular menu. Wishing we got the $65 ribeye than having to now go to Chick-fil-A as we are still hungry after our $95 per person tasting menu. EAT ALL OF THE BREAD to not leave starving. Well, I must say we come to this restaurant often and the last time we ate here the service was horrible. We had OpenTable reservations and I put a bad review on OpenTable under the name NEVRAGN I've tried to update the review and it will not let me do it. On that review I did complain about our service and Thomas the new manager got back to me right away. He told us to come back and he would make things right. We had dinner there again last night for the first time since and let me tell you he did make it right Thomas and all of the staff even the new ones were outstanding if I could give this a 10 star rating I would. It was very personable and very good service, I think Thomas takes his job very seriously and it shows. Amber was our hostess and she was excellent at what she does. We recently stayed at the We-Ko-Pa Resort and ate at Ember as a nice fine dining splurge, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The service you expect at a fine dining restaurant can be expected and found here without feeling disappointed. All-around, Ember provided us with an amazing meal, complete with great food, great ambience and great service. The one blemish that occurred happened when we first arrived. The hostess/ Maître d' was NOT welcoming whatsoever. We were about 10 minutes early for our reservation which we typically do for any occasion. Not even a "hello" or a "welcome to Ember". It was us getting to the front desk, standing there for a few seconds to wait for her to finish something on the computer and then, "do you have a reservation? what's the name?" We give her our name, then "you still have 10 minutes". We waited on the side for 10 minutes when she could have welcomed us in to have a drink at the bar. Please reconsider her as the face of your restaurant or give her an update on how to treat guests who are about to spend hundreds of dollars for a nice night out. She is lucky the rest of the night was saved by our server Scott and the gentleman who ended up greeting us when we went back at our exact reservation time. Other than her... 5 STARS! read more

Their bread basket is filled with different options like sourdough, focaccia, dinner rolls & lavash. The butter with chive and smoked sea salt. Amazing! We started with appetizers of tiger prawns and the lobster & Sun choke bisque. The bisque was pored table side and had great flavor. The prawns were colossal and tasted very fresh and amazing. For drinks we had the midnight cocktail, very tasty! I had the scallops with the butternut squash puree and pomegranate. Cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. The braised buffalo short ribs with spinach and glazed carrots was also phenomenal! All around it was a VERY impressive dining experience and we will be back. Celebrated our wedding anniversary and our waiter, Jean, couldn't have been more accommodating. Suggested a wine from their massive(!) wine list and was so knowledgeable about their menu. They have only the best meats and freshest seafood. Also treated us to a glass of champagne at the beginning of the meal and after when he brought a surprise desert.
