Once my order was completed I found a seat and started to eat. The seating area is limited and if various options, a couple tables here and there and a counter by the window. The fish was crispy and nicely battered and chips were decent. Fish size was again decent i wouldn't say the largest nor small but regular in size to decent fish and chip places. Overall nice, I think strong decent fish and chip place but imo overhyped. It's not bad but nothing mind

I ordered an Oyster Po Boy, fries and a drink which came to total of $27.10. It was messy to eat Po Boy, but that wasn't an issue. Baguette was so crunchy on the outside it was perfect! There was some arugula, kimchi and 3 pcs of oysters in it. I also ordered fries it was huge! Fries were bit salty and overcooked I tossed it out in the end. I left my water and soda to drink them later after heading to washroom. Staff cleared my water and soda away. I still had half of soda in it. I felt thirsty after eating my food in the end. It'd have been nice if she asked me first before clearing dishes. I don't think I'll go back.

This was going to be a true test of the Fish & Chips quality here in Metro Vancouver…read more I had family visiting from the UK - the birthplace of fish & chips. I have Pajo's maybe once every couple of years, & so having visitors that were craving fish & chips - I recommended Pajo's. Located in the popular tourist area of Steveston Village in Richmond, Pajo's has been a pioneer of Fish & Chips in Metro Vancouver since 1985. There is even a location at the YVR Vancouver Airport in the food court near the photogenic - Jade Canoe. Get your fish & chips there before your flight takes off. Pajo's in Steveston Village is located right on the water - a floating restaurant. Seating is outdoors under patio umbrellas. Watch out for those pesky seagulls & crows. We tried the Wild Snapper & Wild Cod as well as the Fish Tacos. We added a bit of vinegar to the chips & voila - excellent. The fish are not too heavily battered, not too oily & tasted fresh. It's that crispy golden looking batter that really excites anyone having Fish & Chips. For some reason they were out of Salmon which would have been nice to try. Regardless, our UK visitors gave Pajo's two thumbs up.

This place is an institution around here. I had fish and chips here as a kid decades ago and…read morethey're still around. Theyve become pricier and more touristy. The fish pieces are smaller than I remember. This time i got 2pc cod and chips. Service was pretty quick. Pricey, at around $24 but you get bottomless fries. The fish was moist, firm but flaky, and piping hot out of the fryer. Batter was a bit thick and greasy for my liking but at least it tasted fresh. Fries were fresh cut single-fried. Good when they're fresh and piping hot, but get soft and soggy really fast. Didnt taste too greasy though. Unsalted, which I like. You can always add salt yourself. The pricing is expensive but the bottomless fries make up for it a bit. There is ketchup, malt vinegar, hot sauce, and utensils on the side. Also a water fountain. If you go with say, a group of 3 and get a 3pc with bottomless fries, its not a bad deal. Just gets kind of greasy. Dont expect mushy peas or curry sauce/gravy or any other fixins like British fish and chips. food quality probably 3.5/5. Value if you take advantage of bottomless fries, 4/5. Its a nice place to hang out by the dock and have a quick bite, so accounting for the nice vibes, overall 4/5. Lots of free street parking in Steveston but you'll need to drive around hunting for an open spot during peak hours.

Moby Dick's is obviously a busy place in the summer, being right across from the waterfront -- but…read morein January, it's a sleepy area and the restaurant is active, but not too busy. We found the food unremarkable - standard fish, standard chips, standard coleslaw, standard tartar sauce. All fried food is pretty standard, pretty greasy, but not any better or worse than many fish & chips shops. So why a 3-star rating rather than 4-stars? First, there is there menu and pricing: What is called a 1-piece fish & chips comes with 2 pieces - all identified fish comes with one extra piece. It's a gimmick, and mostly just annoying. 2nd, there is a charge for everything -- Want tartar sauce? There are three sizes, three prices. Want to substitute onion rings for the fries? Can't do it, even with an up-charge, though you can order fish and you can order onion rings, each separately, each with its own price. Coleslaw? Yes, but not instead of fries. And the coleslaw is pricey - a good sized portion, but a substantial price none-the-less. The portion sizes are reasonably large, but the incessant a-la-carte with each item with a price - one feels nickled and dimed to death. The atmosphere - ok, 1950s-ish, nothing special. The staff, friendly and attentive, but young and inexperienced. And then there was the problem with the cooking -- we got 5 pieces of fish (ordered 2 and 1, which is really 2+1 and 1+1 = 5). Four of them were pretty standard. One was undercooked - cooked on the outer edges (under the fried batter), and raw and translucent on the inside. Yes, they took that off the ticket, so I didn't have to pay for it, but biting into a piece of raw fish with the outside so hot it almost burned my mouth and the inside uncooked - not so pleasant. Moby Dick's gets good ratings from many Yelpers, but in my view, it's not worth going out of your way for.

Be prepared to wait, and wait you will. Especially if it's a sunny day. 30 min to order your food, and then another 20-30 min to get it, depending on how busy they are. Outdoor seating only with a bunch of benches and a few tables. I already knew I was going to do take away, so I didn't need to jostle for a seat. Almost everyone else had to do the jostleing. Two piece cod and a salmon tacone. The cod was overcooked. The tacone was good. Fries were crispy and unevenly fried. Meaning some pieces were burnt a little. Still acceptable tho. Hence the 3 ***'s It was decent, but it didn't wow me. Maybe it was an off order day. I like my fish. You can smell the ocean near the pier. Makes me feel I'm surrounded by fish and everything fishy.

Reservations are recommended on weekends, which there are not a lot of places to go so this would be the most popular place! There are a few booths along the windows which would be a great place to watch the sunset or water inside on a colder day. The food selection is mostly standard Tavern fare. I chose the Reef's Point Bob Burger which includes lettuce, tomato, cheese, grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms. I asked to hold the mushrooms. I was not expecting this food to be as delicious as it was. The fries were crispy and plenty of them. The burger and toppings are all fresh. Their honey mustard dipping sauce is just wonderful. Enjoyed the pickle slice on the top as part of the presentation. I'd like to go back and try their other options!
