I work right down the street and the owner seems so nice and friendly I hate to write this bad review but I have to. I found glass in my special of the day. At first when I chewed into it I thought it was clam shell. Then I thought wait... I ordered a chicken pizza! I found some more cleaned it up and yes I had chewed glass. I know it was a busy day I saw the lunch rush but this is really dangerous and I'm never going back. It was my newfound lunch spot. Also the chicken was way over cooked and I waited forever I was thinking I'll phone in next time but I'm scared to eat there now. I had to throw out the rest of my food after that bite. Also whoever packed the food put the pizza on top of my salad in the same box. Soggy warm salad? Glass in my food? No thanks. It's a shame I like giving business to small mom and pop places but I don't want to eat glass. They have a really great Ion panini and everything tastes fresh if you want to take the risk though. My coworkers and I were running errands during lunch and needed to pop by somewhere fast so we decided to order over the phone for pickup. LOCATION: The location is NOT fancy so don't expect bells and whistles. It's also pretty hidden in an executive office complex so just make sure to look for the sign. FOOD: I ordered The Proton salad which is an Asian orange chicken salad. Sadly, this salad was something I could've gotten for cheap at Trader Joe's for $4.99 SERVICE: The elderly man that looks like he runs the place is very kind. When you walk into low key cafe places like this one you kind of expect people to not care about good customer service but I experienced the contrary here. I cannot recommend this place enough!! I was craving both a little bit of breakfast and lunch foods and I didn't want to just end up at some fast food chain. So i maps'd food near me and this place popped up with great Yelp reviews, so i figured why not give a small business my money instead. Huan was there by himself and he was just the sweetest. I ordered somewhat of a big order for 9:30am, but it was well worth the wait. I got the breakfast sandwich, the neutron, the ion, the voyager salad, and a few eggrolls. This is our first time at the Cafe. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which was crispy outside with cheese melted inside. We liked the texture and taste, it is the best I've ever had. LOCATION & AMBIANCE (Rating 2) So the location is really bad. Extremely tough to find from the street and once you do, you'll find yourself still looking for the front door. Once you're in you'll be greeted by a great staff and the owner. Seating is limited both inside and outside but comfortable. SERVICE (Rating 5) These guys care about what they're serving. They definitely pay attention to the details when serving making sure you have a complete setting with napkins and checking back on you. I was impressed for a sandwich shop. They also take the time to explain their menu and favorites of the guests and their own. It's always great to interact with employees that know and love their menu and want to make sure you order what's best for you. Galactic (Rating 4.5) This sandwich was extremely tasty. With turkey breast, bacon, sun-dried tomato pesto, spinach and provolone served on toasted, pannini style it had some great flavors. The sun-dried tomato pesto rang through triumphantly, but the provolone was lost (almost not there) in the taste. I actually wonder if it was just forgotten? Hmmm... The bread was just OK. A bit dry and not fully toasted, but still flavorful. I'd do this one again, but next time I'll check to make sure the cheese is there. read more

We found this on Yelp and came for a leisurely breakfast one morning. Rick the owner was super friendly and nice. We all ordered fritattas. Although they took a while -- it says 20 mins on the menu -- they were all made from scratch and really good for just $5. They have other things on the menu which we'll definitely come back to try. Atomic Cafe is located in an area where businesses are, behind the 55 fwy. It's not easily visible so look for the location before going. We saw Rick personally deliver food to the neighboring offices after he's done preparing them. Now THAT'S service!!! read more

I can't believe more yelpers have not discovered this place yet! This is what being a foodie is all about imho. Finding that hidden, non-descript little place where some talented chef has set themselves up to do what they love on their own time and in their own way for people who appreciate a good meal. Lucky for me I have the yelp app on my phone, and this place turned out to be the closest $ restaurant open for breakfast during the 8am hour one fine morning. Only 12 reviews, but they were full of high praise, so I headed over to feed my 12 year old boy 2nd breakfast before class. French toast was light and flavorful. The orange zest was a pleasing twist. I do wish it had been served with real maple syrup rather than the generic pancake syrup it came with, but then, I am a syrup snob. Fresh fruit with yogurt and homemade granola was a treat that I had to steal a few extra bites of. I can hardly wait to go back and try some of the scrumptious looking salads and sandwiches on the menu, not to mention the homemade cookies that everyone raves about. Rick's is a small place with limited seating (10 max if you really get to know your neighbors), so I recommend picking up a to go order. However if you do this then you potentially miss out on whatever the special of the day is. All the normal menu items have fun science-themed names, which I fully endorse as a scientist (and a not-insignificant reason for my coming here). On the specific day I visited the daily special was a Diavolo Shrimp Burrito special. It was described to me as a 2/5 of spiciness, and I would say it's on the lower end of a 2. In addition to the shrimp and sauce, there was rice and some greens, wrapped in a spinach tortilla. The size was substantial, enough for an entree on its own, and with the side salad sufficient for even the largest of diners. For a side I had the option of a few salads, and chose the kale which had a citrus dressing. It was simple, and solid, but nothing compared to the shrimp burrito. I would definitely come back and try more daily specials or an item off of the normal menu. read more

I loved this place! The owner was friendly and the food was good. The super cute names also tickle my funny bone! I ordered the neon salad. I expected really crappy beef for my Thai salad but not at atomic!! They gave me super tender flavorful beef and the salad was very filling. The vegetables were fresh and the ratio of toppings to meat to salad lettuce was perfect. It does take a little while to order your food so if you're more than 10 minutes away and only have an hour for lunch I highly recommend phoning in your order.
