Absolutely delicious. I always get the banana Body Builder. This time, I didn't know they put peanut butter into it also. The ECS on Aurora at 100th didn't do that. Anyway, its a meal replacement with lots of protein, dairy, Vitamins A and D especially. Lots of expensive food bars all around and expensive protein powder in big juggs. I've never liked the fact that all of the jugs, which are huge, only are half full. So half your jug is air. I never liked that. I would respect the company that sells them (not ECS, but the third party protein manufacturer) a lot more if they reduced the jug size to match the contents. Adding an additional start because I'm obsessed with their berry crunch Açaí bowls. Full of berries, bananas and delicious Açaí. I drive out of my way to get this treat. I am disappointed at the price charged to use credit/debit. A 4% fee is outrageous to charge. I tried to get around the fee by using a third party app but they also mark up the price even if you select pick up. This fee is not charged at the Tukwila location. Have been frequenting ECS a lot as of late while my husband has been admitted at St Anne's. His appetite has been limited and yet I still need to make sure he has nutrition and something he enjoys. He's now hooked on the tropical sunrise açaí bowl (with raspberries on top instead of bananas) and I'm loving the pineapple bliss smoothie service has been great and cost is on par with everything else. Kind and eager team. Busy breakfast spot. Great pastries. Decent self service coffee. You can ask folks behind the counter for a milk alternative. Veer away from the breakfast sandwiches. We tried two different options, both were listed with "medium eggs". The eggs were hard to the point of being dry, and the sandwiches were next level hot. Once it cooled, their gorgeous bread was rock hard, and the sandwich bone dry. It was inedible. I could see others using their teeth to saw through their breakfast sandwich. Definitely not worth the $10 plus tax and recommended 15% tip. read more

Worst customer service, I am a regular customer and I always order the Matcha blended drink. Every time I go in every workers makes it diffrent which is very frustrating. My husband and I have been going to the Burien location every weekend for over two years and we always order the exact same thing (although I am confident that everything is good)! We noticed inconsistencies and were so impressed with the response that we received from the owner, Dan, once these were brought to his attention. I LOVE the smoothie I get. I get the triple berry because I am dying of kidney failure and CAN NOT have bananas or milk/yogurt, and this particular smoothie has ingredients that I can have and taste good to me, when I am not able to eat much of the time, I rely on this smoothie. HOWEVER...half the time when I order it, someone puts in yogurt or milk. A few times I got a peanut butter and jelly smoothie instead of triple berry....I dont know why. It has always been very disappointing receiving these because I am disabled and get my caretaker to get the drink. He doesnt just taste the drink for me, as he shouldnt. Regardless, when he brings one to me, usually when I cant eat anything, and receive dairy or peanut butter, I'm not able to eat for the night. Wondering how I paid nearly an extra $3 for a "vegan upgrade" and the non-cash fee. The smoothie I ordered is near identical to the vegan dream (I ordered the emerald) , but have a dairy allergy so I asked to substitute the vegan protein in place of the whey. Mind you, both these smoothies are the exact same price $6.25, one has blueberries the other has chia seeds. I can see being charged $0.50 to substitute the protein if there is a price difference, but $1 a piece is a bit ridiculous. I feel like all these unnecessary add-ons seem to come from this location frequently. I've been to kent and the tukwila locations where the staff is way nicer and don't have all these extra costs when a substitution would be nice for the customer and shouldn't be a cost issue as stated about with a near mirror image drink. Emerald City Smoothie is my go-to spot for a post-workout treat. The smoothies are good and refreshing. It's a great hot-day refreshment and meal replacement shake. The shakes are made with real fruit, so you know it's fresh. Sometimes the protein powder, powdery flavor comes through - but that's honestly to be expected with protein powder in a drink. It's a bummer that prices have went over the years. I used to go a lot more often in the past, but it's still a good treat. I'm a fan of the Vanilla Lean Out, Pacific Splash and Sambazon. read more

Omg you guuyyysss this place is a MUST. Wether you're a gym junky or not, their smoothies are so delicious, healthy and filling! My favorite is the Emerald and another Green drink, that I don't remember the name of.. but they are so tasty! The Emerald actually includes some Whey protein so it makes it extra filling, without needing a full meal. The 24 oz is what I usually get, it comes to about $6- but they also have a 32 oz option. They're very quick and friendly, parking right out front and good business hours. Definitely recommend you make a stop! You'll never go to Jamba Juice again lol read more

I've been a customer for several years and after reading a few of the comments I will confirm this.... * Dan the owner is a good guy but not so much on the customer interactions. * 4 1/2 stars for quality, if the drink is incorrect they are willing to remake the drink. The reason for 2 stars is for the recent price increase. I'm a creature of habit and order the same drink; I was never happy with the .70 charge for peanut butter but now they have added a 4% fee if you use your credit card which brings my 24oz drink to over $8. I was literally amazed that you do not offer some form of ginger (root/powder) as an ingredient option. I'm sure you must get suggestions for ingredients often, and I understand that you can't include everything, but ginger?! It's too obvious. 2. The side of your cup states; "We use the best ingredients available to make the perfect smoothie." In the case of Emerald City Smoothie that statement couldn't be more nebulous. Please forgive my sarcasm, but have you ever heard of the term: organic? How is it possible, in your business model, that you could amass so many different "healthy" food products, and ingredients, under one roof and not offer at least one organic item in your store...not one? I used to live in Burien and this was one of my favorite stops in the mornings before heading to the bus depot to head to work. It was either this place or the Starbucks across the lot. But the smoothies were just a better breakfast option than an americano. For one thing, this place made a kick-ass passion fruit Slim'n'Fit. And it was consistent everytime! I'm sure all of the passion fruit Slim'n'Fits at every other ECS tastes the same. But what made it taste better was DEFINITELY the outstanding service I received every morning I was there. And I really liked the fact that the owner wasn't one of those invisible guys behind the scenes that leaves all the hard work to his employees while he sits at home and rakes in all the dough. No. This guy was there every morning, bright and early to help customers, train any new employees he may have had while maintaining another store (Southcenter Mall) and opening a new drive-thru one (Boulevard Park)! And by my third visit, the man already knew what I wanted and was throwing my drink together as I walked in the door! Don't you all agree that your food oddly tastes better when you receive outstanding service?? Okay...maybe not. But it definitely does for me! So if you're in the mood for a tasty, healthy treat or meal alternative and live in the areas of Burien or Southcenter Mall, definitely check them out!
