I was recently in the area and quite hungry. I was really craving a big steak, but I saw Emeril's Coastal, and I thought "I've really wanted to try this place." I'm sure you're thinking, big mistake. This is probably the sort of place that you would see a lot of vacant plate. But no indeed!! This place did not disappoint. The service was excellent, the entrees are very well prepared and beautifully plated and seasoned. I hade the baked oyster appetizer followed by an andouille crusted redfish. Tiramisu cake was good. Nice portion size you could share. Staff were great. AMC is right next door so perfect for dinner and a movie. We made reservations but had to wait a few minutes. Not much. When we got to the table, the chairs were and table were wet (it was folded in half but the under side was still wet to the touch). The floor was filthy so we had to ask staff to assist. I had no idea who this guy was until I heard about this place and im glad I did. Emeril's is incredible. From the atmosphere of beautiful interior design with wall pieces and art around. The service here was great and able to seat us without reservations (I recommend) and were tentative to the table. We had a party of 4. Now why you're really here, the food is absolutely fire here. Seafood in florida can old quick but Emeril's flips the script on my tastebuds with some of well prepared dishes. The upside down pineapple cornbread is something I could eat every week, you have to at least try it. We also had the BBQ Shrimp that I really enjoyed but the sauce wasn't entirely there for me. My wife had a Ceaser Salad which was one of the best she's had. Our mains consisted of 3 Fresh Catches, 2 Mahi's and 1 RedFish with crab added on the side, everything was delicious and nothing was left after. It hurts me a little to give this place 3 stars because I love Emeril (the chef). But I went this past weekend and while service and ambiance is all fine, the food is where I'm rating. We always go to Tommy bahama whenever we are in Destin area. Their food is always on point and service is usually great. It's rare for a restaurant to always deliver, but Tommy bahama had done that for us. So we can't help but to compare since it's right in the same shopping center with a very similar price point. We are a big family so we ordered many things across the menu. The oyster and crab claw app was good. The crab soup had good broth but was missing something. Gumbo was something I would have really liked at Emeril's!! Though it wasn't terrible, it also wasn't very good... it was discouraging since I knew his style of food to be creole. Do not get the sushi bowl if you are Asian or if that's your go to usually. The rice was ice cold and overcooked. The fish was fresh, but flavor was lacking, fettuccini Nero was good! Probably the best flavor we had that evening, but was overly salty. (And I like salt!). Fish and chips was also good, but for me it was lacking in the dipping. I prefer a good home made tartar sauce, and not flavored aioli. We usually finish our meal by ordering a few dessert for the table, but we decided not to because the meal was mediocre. I hate leaving a negative review but since our meal at Tommy bahama (with drinks and everything) was slightly less than our meal at Emeril's: with two from our party missing that night, I thought I'd leave a review for someone wondering about this restaurant. read more

We came to Destin to celebrate a friends birthday and she chose Emeril's as she wanted a classy restaurant with a nice ambiance for Sunday night! I was very pleased with the restaurant and the staff made the experience even better! Everybody ordered a little bit of everything (Stuffed Shells, Steaks , Seafood platter) and everybody enjoyed their meal! The service was 10/10. The staff were very friendly and the chef came out to greet us and wish our friend a Happy Birthday! The waitress even met my friends request for skittles as his dessert (Total Jokester) LOL. I'd definitely visit again. Some items were ok like the gumbo however other items were amazing like the Stuffed Shells! This was very saucy/tasty and served in a Sheek All Clad pan. I'm in Destin this week for work and I had heard this place was good, plus it's pretty cool that Emeril drops by now and then too, so I checked it out tonight by myself. Very good phone customer service: I tried to make a reservation online and you can't, for just one person. I made one for 2 people for 615pm, and only the patio was available; when I called, they were able to switch me to indoors, which I appreciated. I ordered: -rum cocktail: tasty and came in a tiki glass. However, it took a while for them to bring it to me. -8-oz. filet, medium rare: I asked the waiter which he suggested, between this and the pork chops, and he actually suggested the pork chops, but I was craving steak. It was very good, with a nice char, but unfortunately was more rare vs. medium rare. It came with mashed potatoes, which were also very good, and string beans, but I subbed Brussels sprouts with bacon (at no charge). It was too bacon-y for me so I wasn't a fan. I gave my waiter my credit card before the bill was brought and then I noticed an "A&E tax" on it, for about $1.50 on a $74 bill. I later Googled it and it's an arts and entertainment tax and I BELIEVE can be waived, I'd you ask. Overall I'd come back here but might try the pork chops or fried chicken, the chicken comes with a rosemary biscuit and sounded good. She did not eat it and the server did not ask if she liked it. I usually say it was not good while at the place but my family would not let me do it. If this was just an average place, at an average investment I would have given it a four star. But this is a high-end place with very fancy prices. That leads to a three star. Long day at an intense and extremely informative net worth lecture by Jay Greier from the Scheduling Institute. The conference was held at Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort in Miramar Beach in Florida. Emeril's Coastal was around the corner and I've to his Vegas restaurant. Reservations are suggested and I elected to grab a seat at the bar. The restaurant was not busy, but it was 5:00 on a Saturday afternoon. The decor is nicely done and they had a ton of staff. I ordered the BBQ shrimp with a muffin and an order of fries. The food was delivered quickly and had a decent presentation. The french fries were good but needed salt. The shrimp had a nice sauce but only four shrimp for $24. The food was good but not remarkable. It is hard to judge as it was more of a snack than a meal. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt with a 4 rating. I will stop back to try a full meal as other dinners seemed to be enjoying their meal. read more

The staff is amazing and the food was ONPOINT. We got to try a few off menu items along with our regular entree. It was soooo good. Zach the chef did a great job making our experience one of a kind. I absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere. I haven't yelped in a long time but this one was well worth a mention. I had the fried chicken as my entree with mashed potatoes. I asked for Zacks own sea salt and he delivered. The extra sea salt on the mashed potatoes and fried chicken set it off! I'm on vacation but I will be back! 5 stars hands down. By my other party's food..... Not good. Stay away from the lobster pasta dish.... not good and smells terrible. If you love brunch and don't mind spending a little bit more for great food I highly recommend Emeril's Coastal. Reservations highly recommended. We got sat near the kitchen which was nice to watch food being prepared and watching it go out as well. The employees were all very friendly and our Brit went above and beyond her job in spending time with us to find out what we like and then provided recommendations based off that. We started with the special crawfish smear w pepper Jack cheese on garlic toast. I'm not a fan of crawfish, but this was so delicious. If you go and you see this special get it and thank me later. I also had the soup to the day and it was so flavorful and had plenty of chicken in it. I got the Muffaletta Salad which brought me back to New Orleans and Muffaletta sandwiches there. Only difference this is a salad, but lacked a lot of taste. My friends got the crab cake Benedict and said it was the best crab cake she's had since we've been here for over 2 months. The food was okay. Nothing special. Our server did a good job but everything seemed disjointed. For example, the opening drinks we ordered came after our first course was served. I had the loaded baked potato soup and it was OK. Luke warm and full of fatty chunks of bacon. The Mrs. had a Caesar salad which had more of a pickled flavor than the standard. I had a few bites and it was OK, just didn't taste like what you would expect. I had the stuffed pasta shells in Vodka Sauce. Really good. Would recommend this dish. The Mrs. had the fried seafood platter. It was a generous size but other than the shrimp, everything tasted like breading. We sat outside on a wonderful evening and it was nice and quiet. I made a reservation a couple of months ago to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. When we arrived for a 6:00 reservation we waited a short time to be taken to our table. The restaurant was 30% full at that time. The hostess started to seat us at a table directly in front of the kitchen doors. We asked if we could be seated at another open table for 6 instead. We encountered quite the resistance from the hostess who made up a story as to why she couldn't move us. It was shocking at how we were made to feel. I truly wasn't sure I wanted to even eat at the restaurant after that. It truly spoiled our special evening. The food was average. My family is vacationing in Miramar Beach Florida and was celebrating the start of our vacation together. The girls at the hostess stand were not very friendly and welcoming. Our waiter Deron did a nice job but missed getting our apps entered/delivered correctly. The fresh Oysters were great but the cornbread was dry and not even served warm. We all got the pasta dish with shrimp and steak and it was delivered quickly but lacked a lot of additional flavor coming from a New Orleans style restaurant. At the end the bill it reflected a credit card fee of 3% and an Art and Entertainment fee which was removed after I questioned what it was actually for and should of been explained and not thrown on the bill to catch.
