The worst shop I ever been at. I got my first car a year ago and have been in a few shops but this one is the worst! The owner is smiling and seems a nice guy but it's only a mask. If you're not experienced driver they will screw you! At first he tried to fool me for a part which cost 40$ online and 70$ at Autozone while his price was 150$! My car had damage after an accident and I was scared to drive.They said problem is in that part and they need to change it but it became even worse than it was before! And the owner called me cheap when I refused do alignment there. I was need to go to another shop where my problem was diagnosed and fixed for less than a couple hours. It was faster, much cheaper and the way more professionally than at Emil's Tire. read more

I was a loyal, patron of this garage for many years. But not anymore. On 2/3/13, I brought my car in for repairs at 7:30 a.m. As of 2:30 p.m., seven hours later, my car still had not been checked or diagnosed. I received no explanation for the delay from Ralph, the owner/manager despite my repeated complaints. Nor was I told when I would be taken orI offered an apology keeping me waiting. Ralph comported himself in an unprofessional, disrespectful, and inconsiderate manner. If he could not accommodate me within a reasonable period, he should have told me so instead of keeping me waiting. In the future,I plan take my car to a mechanic who values my patronage and does not take me for granted. Anyone considering this garage for their auto maintenance needs should do the same. read more

I came in today to get my tires remounted and balanced. My wheels were brand new. When the job was done, 2 of my wheels had some scratching around the center cap as seen in their pictures. I asked the manager and he said the wheels were cheaply made and didn't take responsibility for his staff scratching my brand new wheels. Can in this morning for an Insurance inspection, the front desk gentleman said "he'll be with you in 10 minutes" I've been outside for at least 30...still waiting. I saw the guy do the inspection on another person car after. I didn't care that I was here first. He then came up to me and took my insurance info and left. 20 minutes later I'm still standing and waiting for him to come back with my insurance at least. Charged me the same price as he did my friend when he brings this exact same car in that's hes been bringing for 3 years. There is no race issue at Emils. I needed to change the sensor on my tire. Reading good reviews I went straight to Emil's Tire. He charged me $76 (including taxes) for changing the sensor and reprogramming it. I made my own mistake; other places like Galaxy tire does the same work for $30. Emil can do a good job but it IS OVERPRICED. CHECK OTHER PLACES BEFORE YOU GO TO HIM. read more

This Place Sucks... Took My Car There today (6/13/13) for a flat African Guy (John) took my tired to the shop. Told me the tired was Not good. They were selling me a tired for 160 and another one for 220. When I told him i was coming tomorrow after pay day he gave me the tire back. I went to queens to a tire shop to see if he can patch it. he told me Yes. When he put the tire in the water tank. Ralph is a great guy and will do small repairs to your car at no additional charge. You will have to wait, but with the high volume of cars, the turnaround is reasonable. No, not again, not ever, not if they were the last auto repair shop on the planet. I'd just roll my car into Jamaica Bay before dealing with Emil's Tire again. The first time, I was naive. They're just five blocks from my house and open on Sundays. I went to replace a spare tire with a regular-sized one and needed two replaced. I got what I thought were the correct tires for my Mustang. Six months later, I'm at Sears - of all places - and am told that the two tires Emil's put on are about to burst. I saw cracks in the tires, but as I was a first-time car buyer/owner, I didn't realize that meant "Hey! You're just one glass shard away from a blow-out!" Because of Emil, I had to have all four tires replaced in order to ensure the treads were correct and that I wouldn't get killed because of their bad tires. A few years went by. I chalked up the first time to my own naivety. The second time, I went to them because they're the only repair shop open on Sunday and I needed an inspection as well as to have my front brakes replaced (which I knew already). So pass the inspection and have my brakes repaired ... until I start smelling something burning, and realize that my brake pedal is all wonky. Had to go to the Ford dealership where they tell me that, thanks to a caliper that was locked because of the last repair, I've burned out my brakes, misaligned my front end, and it'll cost $2K to fix!!! And this was all before I was going on vacation!!! BLEEP Emil's. The younger of the two owners seems like a nice guy, but their staff isn't. On top of that, in one case I get shitty products, and in another, because their so-called expert repair staff forgot to not lock a caliper (which I realized is what happened once I smelled the burning from my car), I got a bleeping month's rent of a bill from my dealer. If I could give this place no stars and the finger, I definitely would. I'm Taylor Swift to this place ... NEVER EVER GETTING MY CAR FIXED THERE EVER AGAIN!!!! read more

I've only recently starting going to Emil's tire shop but since I've been going they were always accommodating and very helpful. With all the snow the whole New York area has been having the snow plows have ruined the streets especially the belt pkwy and since I live in Brooklyn and needed to get my tire fixed quick they were able to help and they always had the tired I needed which were run flats and not many people carry those, All 5 times! For a good price! So as far as I'm concerned they're great. read more

I've been to this place a few times to have my fleet car serviced. Customer Service is always on point. Always a quick turnaround time, that's why I kept going back. Took my car here last week for an oil change and inspection. Again, Customer Service was on point and there was a quick turnaround time. The only issue and unfortunately for Emil's, it is a HUGE issue, when I picked up my car, I got into it and almost puked! It smelled like an ashtray! I live a mile away, and by the time I got home, I was dizzy and, I (my clothes and my hair) too, smelled like an ashtray! I do not smoke. My husband does not smoke. Obviously, my three-month-old daughter does not smoke. Neither one of us, ESPECIALLY my three-month-old daughter, should have to inhale third hand smoke in our vehicle. So, unfortunately for this business, I will not return. The owner of this business should instruct his employees NOT to smoke in the customer vehicles. read more

Emil's always has those hard to find performance tires in stock and ready to to mount. If you drive a BMW or Porsche in Brooklyn you will be replacing those tires constantly thanks to our roads. Came in the other week with my 2006 Toyota Camry....ends up the engine was dead by no fault other than mine. Ralphy was such a pleasure and an honest person to deal with. He quoted my what the repair would cost and told me flat out that if I could afford a new car I am better off. He could have easily made a good deal of money making the repairs but decided to do what is best for the customer, a trait one does not see in business to often. When it came to the final bill there I was floored. He had changed the oil, had mechanics diagnose the car, held it for five days until the donation company picked it up (handling all the related paper work for me and removing my plates), and moved the car when it needed to be moved to avoid it being ticketed, at the end he only charged me for an oil change......A real mensch.... will definitely go back there and others should feel they are in good hands going there as well. read more

Came in with my own tire and was told right away and without even touching the tire he says that tire looks no good i asked why and he started talking some crazy stuff how these tires are known to fail, whats his answer buy a tire from ME and it will be better! After thinking for just a minute a realized he doesnt know what he is talking about since i have the same brand/ style 4 tires and took them way past 50k on brooklyn roads!! So i asked how much to just slap on the new tire and be on my way he said 30 minutes and 30 buks, pretty steep for a simple tire insall as i payed 40$ previously for 2 tires at another location, so he said ill do it for 25 after i started my car and was getting ready to pull out... so a HOUR later im still waiting to be told it will be 5 more minutes, after 30 minutes i asked what was the major problem and they said we are working on it! 5 more minutes or so after that he comes out with the tires put in on and says 35 buks please, it was like he though i was mentally retarded and would not remember the conversation we had a hour ago, but after arguing he said ok took my credit card and gave me a written receipt for 25$. 3 weeks later my bill says 35$ charge on my visa card... now i disputed the transaction and thank god it was my only dispute in 5 year history so the credit card comapny sided with me and they lost everything for trying to charge extra 10$ read more

Heading into Memorial Day weekend sensors went off on my beamer for tire service! Needless to say my plans for a roadtrip crashed and burned. To top it off sadly I had just changed the front right tire at the dealership. So to see that light go on again made me sick! The Manager Ralph at Emil's was very nice and helpful. I dropped off my car and headed into work then picked up later that day no problems! They did an excellent job checking the tires, filling them up with Nitrogen and swapping out the tire that had a nail in it. Next up will be there awesome Tire Warranty! Take your business to ANY other shop. This business owner is dishonest, always trying to get as much $$ from you as he can. Being an authorised dealer and knowing that new tire failure ( he sold me 4 of them) was cover by the tire company, he did not tell me that and was trying to sell me another new tire just to make another few bucks from me. read more
