So have driven by many times for years. Always saying gotta check that place out. Well today we did. After getting horrible/ no service at a diner in canoga park this place was a nice surprise. Simply great service. Huge menu. Serves breakfast..lunch...dinner all day. Food was excellent. I had a BBQ Cajun chicken sandwich with fries.. The wife had eggs florentine with a side of fruit. Both meals were awesome!! And decent price. American food..middle eastern food..on the menu.. seems to be operated by family. Our to-go place for sure now for breakfast or lunch. read more

I've been here for brunch a few times and was really happy that we didn't have to wait as I have seen lines out the door! Emle, you give me a reason to procrastinate on my life while I review you. I've been here a few times, for one-on-one breakfast sessions. I really like how close it is to my house, but then again everything is "close" in The Valley, and the options are so many. Two items I've had are Eggs Benedict and Filet Mignon Waffle Benedict with potatoes and a cup of coffee. The food isn't that great to me but for some reason, maybe the kind service and the fancy-like tables, I like the place. The best compliment to great food and environment is great customer service. Mike was so very patient and helpful towards me, as a first time customer. I had a task at hand choosing what to order, but he broke down the menu for me. I ended up ordering the Salmon omelet with potatoes and banana bread for take out. Once my order was up Mike showed me my food, it looked delicious! My mouth was watering my whole 5 min drive to work! As soon as I walked in the office and sat down, I went to town. The banans bread was outstanding and the egg white omlete just cooked to perfection. Sorry I didn't get to share a picture because I inhaled the food, however it looked just as good as it tasted! I really did want to like this place and tried really hard to... Unfortunately, this place just did not cut it for me. To start, their service is extremely slow. It took about thirty minutes for our two entrees to come out, and with that amount of time someone is cooking up my meal... I expect a really, really tasteful meal... So my boyfriend and I came in for a late brunch, but left extremely disappointed. I ordered the Moroccan Shakusha (?) Breakfast plate and my boyfriend ordered the Combo Kabob Plate. I decided to order the Moroccan plate in light of all the pictures and reviews it had on Yelp, but I truly did not like this meal!! The Moroccan plate was supposedly three poached eggs in a tomato sauce with veggies... MY EGGS WERE NOT POACHED, rather, they were overcooked and basically scrambled. None of that runny yolk-y goodness you expect from a poached egg. I guess the meals took so long because the chef clearly forgo that my eggs were poaching. The veggies and tomato sauce was just okay. Nothing too rave about- in other words, I can go buy canned tomato sauce and put it on a pan and stir fry a bunch of veggies in myself. And I wouldn't forget how to poach an egg either. Ugh. As for the kabob plate. I could not stop laughing at my boyfriend. He was so so so disheartened and disappointed. He received his kabob plate looking sad and depressed. Honestly it was just a bunch of vegetables, rice stuck to the plate because they wanted it to be "skillet-style" or whatnot, and two sticks of very unhappy meat. The rice was basically burned to the skillet and crunchy but that's besides the problem. The issue is the kabob. I have never tasted such a dry and tasteless meat skewer in my life. It was (like my poached eggs) left in the back and forgotten in the kitchen for thirty minutes, I assume. I truly wanted to enjoy this place... but my boyfriend and I left entirely unsatisfied and so disappointed. We merely stuffed ourselves with the free bread (which was fresh and very good!!) and pita bread. read more

BEWARE. If you want horrible unapologetic service, then this is your place. When we got there, we were told to seat ourselves. Fine. Then the bus boy had to bring us our drinks and menu since no server came after 20 minutes. Meanwhile the table next to us got their menus and order taken long before us. When we finally got a server he was unapologetic. We never got refills on beverages while waiting over 30 minutes for our food. We finally decided to leave. We approached the owner (I guess) and ask for a bill for the coffee. He said that the order was coming but not once apologized for the shit service. A quick search for "breakfast and brunch" came up with this restaurant as number one. My mom was feelin' anything eggy so we went for it. Upon entering, the room looked spacious, open, and very welcoming. We were called to sit where ever; we chose one of the many window options. Prompt service; great menu options (though breakfast is always a dilemma for me). My mom settled on Eggs Florentine and I chose the Vegetarian Breakfast Burrito. The food came out in the amount of time it should take to create a tasty dish...not too long, not too fast that it was simply reheated. Then, a man who seemed to be the owner, asked us if it was our first time. We said yes and he smiled, asking from where we heard of the restaurant. I replied through word of mouth because my mom thought it where her sister went for her birthday. He nodded, seeming pleased, and just mentioned that he had never seen us before and usually he knows the customers. Just left this place half an hr ago. I was starving after work on my way to school. I went in for the 2 egg breakfast. First of all: there's a menu on the door. After looking at it and decided what to get, I walked in to place my order. Mind you no one has given me an actual menu that I can look at as I order. The guy looked like he was the owner, sadly. He had glasses, spiky hair around 5"5 Me: Can I get the number 1, 2 egg breakfast. Guy: Which one? We have a lot of egg breakfast. Me: Can I see the menu Guy: (Looks bothered) hands it to me. I ordered and waited. I got my food, the potatoes were not fresh at all, they looked old and soggy. I started eating it and Lo and behold, I felt a strand in me cheek. HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!! I look at my plate, I see another strand on a potato. So I drive back, explain myself . I wish I took a picture. I blame my naivete for assuming I would get an apology/remose! NONE! With that kind of attitude, I didn't even want my food remade. I just asked for a refund. Keeping an eye on my bank account to make sure I definitely get my refund. Since 1955?! DAYAM they're doing something right I had an Italian Omelette from here. I think the guys in the kitchen can cook but they seem a little slow. Maybe it's not them but my takeout took a while. Had my omelette with some cottage cheese and they even threw in some banana bread long with it. Very good, Nothing extraordinary but I definitely enjoyed it. All I did was takeout, but my overall experience was pleasant. The people were friendly with the sense of humor. I think the service is expected to be a tad on the slow side so if you have a problem with this, go eat somewhere else. My personal favorite is the Mediterranean breakfast Which I have only been able to find here. Many options for the meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Service is friendly and helpful. STAY AWAY! OMG....How does this place stay in business?? I'm not a really picky, anal person when it comes to food. ( However who doesn't prefer and enjoy really delish food?)But my expectations are NOT unreal when it comes to eating in certain places. Upon entering we did notice that for 10am (breakfast advertised) the place was pretty empty ,except for another couple and a party of 3 outside patio. No tempting aromas in the air, but for very strong cheap cologne our waiter had bathed in. Coffee strong ,not great but not bad. We looked through menu and both noticed that most breakfast items pretty pricey! We tried to keep it simple ....I ordered scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon and opted for banana bread instead of toast. Hubby asked for eggs over medium, bacon , home fries and wheat toast DRY..... No rocket science here. 25 mins later....food arrives. My eggs were very dry and overcooked (bouncy -like) bacon bit under-cooked , potatoes were the worst I can recall EVER having...red potatoes w/skins still on ( usually love em like that). These looked old and burned. The texture was as if they had been boiled, browned on griddle and stored in fridge....Then brought out to warm on griddle again till almost black in color. Tasteless and dry! The banana bread was OILY to the touch, but dry & spongy ....why was it banana bread? It didn't taste like banana at all. I tried, I really did...but couldn't eat any of this. My husband's over medium eggs were like rubber, yolk cooked completely and they were drenched in oil. He refused to even try potatoes. Toast was soaked and soggy with butter? He did order toast "dry". He ate 2 pcs of bacon that WERE crisp...that was it! No condiments at all & none offered. Had to ask for each one including sugar for my coffee. Our waiter was now in deep conversation with 2 men that walked in right behind us, they sat in a corner and had water and nothing else. They actually looked very menacing and seemed to be upset and threatening towards waiter and other gentleman that came out from somewhere in back. They spoke in some foreign language that sounded Russian...(not positive ), but once they arrived everyone was ignored by waiter which appeared to be very nervous and fearful all of the sudden.The kid refilling coffee and picking up dishes spoke very little english and was left to pickup slack for the waiter. He too looked nervous. I can without any second thought or doubt assure you ,that this is the WORST food & service I've encountered in many yrs of eating out. They must own the whole property OR use business to launder $$. NO WAY SALES KEEPING THIS CRAPPY PLACE OPEN!! read more

You feel that it is afamily owned business. It is friendly and the service is great. I had the greek omlete..it was amazing overloaded with all the ingredients not stingy on anything. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in the valley. The service here is always so amazing and even when it's packed, you get your food fast and they check on you frequently. It may seem a bit pricey but the portions are more than worth it. If you're a regular or even come just a few times, they remember you and make you feel welcomed. 10/10 would recommend. I usually an not much of a burger person but these are the best burgers I've ever had. Same with their breakfast - huge portions, amazing coffee, just an all around amazing experience. I don't know how or why there are any negative reviews because they are so good with service the food is great quality, huge portions, and even if they don't have something they tend to compensate. I went here today with my roommates. I ordered the smoked salmon burrito. We waited for 40 minutes and no food. They forgot about our order and we had to remind them, then they brought it out. The smoked salmon was super salty and I could barely finish 2 bites. I felt bad, but I sent it back and asked for the vegetarian breakfast sandwich instead. I had no idea this joint would be as good as it was! Totally blindsided. For one thing it's located on Reseda Blvd in a rather low-end strip mall. Not a whole lot of ambiance to speak of. But still, we've been here about 10 times now and it never disappoints! It's a terrific breakfast and brunch place. It's rather small though and there is a good chance you'll be in for a wait on a Saturday or Sunday between 10 and 12, but trust me - wait it out! Their pancakes and waffles and breakfast fare rocks! There is some creative stuff on their menu as well: not typical Norms or Denny's stuff. (Though there certainly is a place for that too). I had a calamari steak there a few months ago that blew me away. In fact, there really is no bad choice on their menu. So endure the mediocre surroundings outside the restaurant and the tight squeeze once you get it. Trust me, it's worth it! read more

Had dinner there last night. Lamb chops were tender and well prepared. Veggies were fresh and crisp, salad was delicious, and the Emle's french toast is an amazing dessert. There homemade syrup is addictive. On Tuesday evening there is live soothing jazz. Great aptmosphere for a work meeting or get together with friends or family. Reasonable prices, good service. Breakfast is to die for! Special french toast is a must have. Their bacon has some of the best flavor. My boyfriend says they have great proportions, but for someone who isn't 6'4 with a hollow stomach the proportions are huge. The leftovers are still extremely delicious. read more

Been here with my wife four times in that last few months. Quality food and great service. The thing we like about the place is reliable quality of the food. Some places are hit and miss, but this place is solidly in the zone every time we go there. You order a dish in January and it will be just as good in April. Giving this place five stars because it is a reliable restaurant where you know the service is good and so is the food. Anytime we are in Northridge and hungry, Emle's will be at the top of our list. read more

He changed it to black coffee and it was sour. All the food seemed to be old. Especially the eggs and bacon plate. I had no idea you could mess up bacon! It looked like it had been microwaved.
