Wow, wow, and wow. I don't know where to start with Emmett's. This place was packed when we walked in the door so I just knew we were in for a treat. The service was fantastic, we ordered at the counter took our number and grabbed the last open table. Our food came out fast and was fantastic. It was both filling and made me feel good when i finished it! I also got one of the seasonal lattes. It was such a hard decision because of how many ACTUALLY unique options there were. Ginger and Clove is what I got I believe. I wasn't expecting to enjoy the ginger part too much but it was subtle and ended up tasting really great. Definitely will be return next time I come to Ohio! read more

This place was amazing! My friend and I arrived around 9:30am on a Saturday and it wasn't super busy yet but but the dining area started filling up after we ordered. I recommend coming as early as possible to beat the rush. I got the Lox sandwich which was the bomb and their tater tots as a side. The tots were INCREDIBLE. I was shocked because most tater tots are just fine but these were probably the best tater tots I've ever had. They came with a chipotle aioli too which complemented them perfectly. This little place is wonderful. The coffee is strong and full bodied without all the acidity that some have. The scene is comfy and peaceful with lots of natural light from the windows which let the morning sun peak through. Been a fan of the original Emmett's since it opened down in German Village. I was absolutely delighted when I found out they were going to be one of the new tenants of Understory. I drive by everyday and could not wait to get in and try it out. The inside is beautifully decorated and the school vibes still ring true. It is sit down while the other Emmett's is more take out order style. We had the chai and nitro latte, both excellent. For food we had the banana bread and the breakfast burrito. The banana bread was moist and hit the spot. The breakfast burrito might just be the best in Columbus. Excellent flavor and texture throughout. I'm hesitant to even write this review because I don't want this place getting too crowded but everyone needs to know how good it is. I will be back soon! read more

Had been wanting to this cafe for awhile now and finally got the chance to try it this week while grabbing coffee with a friend. The inside is adorable and has great lighting. There is a window outside to order to-go or you can sit down inside. If you sit down inside, I get the vibe you should order food and not just coffee. I got the drip coffee which wasn't my favorite so next time I would definitely get a fancier drink. We ordered the banana bread to share- 10/10 would recommend . The butter it comes with has sea salt flakes in it and really elevated the experience. Big perk: free parking but tight spaces. read more

I went here specifically for the breakfast burrito. Let me preface by saying that it's got a very unique flavor profile. That may be a good or bad thing for some. I personally liked it a lot. There was a creamy spiciness to it that was persistent throughout every bite. One thing that I felt it was lacking sad a "meatier presence". What does this new term I just made up mean? Is prosciutto tasty? Sure, but it doesn't have much bite to it. This burrito is also REALLY expensive for what you are getting. At $14 I don't see myself getting it again anytime soon. Does all this mean you shouldn't get it? Absolutely not, it's tasty, filling and unique. Anyone should try it at least once! read more

BEST BREAKFAST EVER. We went on Tuesday morning when it was about to rain. Not many people there. But everyone was attentive to our wants. We had the Banana Bread sharable plate. It was delicious. Not to sweet, but so soft and delicious. My companion had the Breakfast Burrito. It looked great, but I didn't get to taste it. So I will tell you he said it was very good. I had a bowl that had two soft boiled eggs, sweet potatoes, kale, mushrooms and beets on a bed of quinoa. It was soooooooo good. The only down side is my companion had a little bit of trouble finding the building. It is literally where Hudson dead ends into Neil avenue. It still looks like a school, but is now the home of some business. So it is easy to miss it. The place is nicely decorated. and I will be back. read more

Although Emmett's is housed in an old school building, they're serving up something much better than cafeteria food. Aside from the unique and delicious selection of coffee beverages, there also exist a surprisingly extensive food menu. The mushroom toast is perfect; I could eat like 15 of those suckers maybe even more. I also tried the TK and the Schiller bowl. Both were simple, but perfectly executed. They also have Topo Chico instead of normal sparkling water which just feels extra boujee. The interior is very open and lively, but beware it gets very busy pretty much every single morning. Be prepared at the possibility of waiting a few minutes. Emmett's is fun, tasty, and full of life I can't wait to visit again. Oh yes, also the parking is terrible. read more

A perfect breakfast/lunch/brunch spot in Columbus! Highly recommend it if you haven't checked it out yet~ They have two locations, and I visited the newly opened one at Open Air. Beautiful space, great vibes, very friendly service, and DELICIOUS food! It exceeded my expectations tbh~ The banana bread was SO GOOD! It blew me away cz I am normally not a fan of banana bread, but I couldn't stop eating this one! The outside was crispy but inside was so soft and not dry at all. Plus the maple butter and caramelized banana slices on top, ah YUM! Also I learned that the chef's wife makes it every night. How sweet! For the Emmett's bowl, I enjoyed the curry yogurt a lot! The flavor was quite light surprisingly, and it fit very well with the rest of the ingredients and seasoning! They did a great roll for the Emmything sandwich, the grilled chicken was juicy, and the sandwich overall was flavorful! The Tater tots were fresh, crispy and well seasoned! The lemonade was so pretty and freshly squeezed! Very refreshing~ Also the mango cardamom lassi had a lot of great ingredients in the smoothie~ unique and tasty! I'm giving 2 stars just based on the food I had. The ambiance was truly awesome but my burrito, for me just did not cut it, and the primary reason was for my taste, there was way too much avocado. And for the price it a little on the small side. The scramble eggs, potatoes, prosciutto and arugula salad with toast was a little different for a breakfast dish. Looked very appealing but was anything but appetizing. We also had coffee and iced tea, my second cup of coffee came absolutely stone cold, not good. The restaurant was absolutely spotless and very inviting, but it just was not our "cup-of-tea". We chose this place strictly based on it having a 4 star rating. I guess this could be truly a 5 start place for other folks but not me. I suggest you give it a try and make your own decision. read more

I am a foodie and decided delicious, healthy food would improve the situation. Not only is your food nourishing and tasty (yay veggies, quinoa and eggs for breakfast), your staff was compassionate and kind. Answering my questions and seeing my weariness may seem like small things and to me, after an intense week, they were huge. So thank you for nourishing both my body and spirit. I came back every morning and took the homemade chocolate chip cookies and muffins to the nurses. Emmet's made a big difference to me and I have been recommending you to anyone who will listen. Came here for breakfast with a friend after a class at The Butcher Shop and it was delicious! We each got both an iced vanilla oat milk latte and a green juice to start and I would definitely recommend getting both if you are a lover of liquids. From there, we split the breakfast burrito, yogurt parfait and roasted potatoes. It was the perfect breakfast combination of savory and sweet. If you get the burrito, definitely ask for a side of their hot sauce as it is delicious. I am already excited to go back to try their lunch selection! read more

Omg what a find! We were in a road trip from NY to CO and stopped overnight in Columbus, OH. In the morning we wanted to grab some yummy food to take on the road and found Emmett's Cafe had good reviews nearby our hotel. We got the one handed sandwich which was super delicious and just the right size (the gluten free bread option was also good I was told), a chocolate chip cookie, and the choco-tahini crispy. The cookie!! OMG I will be back for that cookie again. I will go out of my way for that cookie. It was a great place to stop and we still talk about the cookie. It was a Saturday night and a friend of mine and I wanted to get brunch on Sunday. We scoured the internet for a spot that neither of us has been and one of our main criteria was to find a place that offered sweet and savory options as well as great coffee! And boy can I say that we found the perfect place! Fair warning there are two locations of Emmett's Cafe and of course neither of us confirmed the exact location we were going to. 15 minutes later at 11:30 AM we were both at this lovely location after each of us had gone to a different one initially. From what i understood from my friend and a local that frequents is that this location is larger, has more seating, and a couple more menu items. Parking at this location is available but fills up quick so if you see a parking spot TAKE IT! Or you risk circling around the parking area for 15 minutes or parking on the street. The cafe also offers primarily indoor seating with limited outdoor seating (with umbrellas for shade). There is even a take out window where you can order outside and wait for drinks and food to be delivered to you. The cafe has a host that seats you. We waiting around 15 minutes after being quoted a half hour wait. The indoor area is noisy but chilled and a great area to sit with friends or family. I would say that the dress code is casual since people had come with bikes and after workouts but if you want to dress up and have a Sunday brunch you def can! I ordered the Lox and got tater tots on the side and absolutely loved my meal! Veggie options as well as others were also available. It was so so filling and full of bright and strong fresh flavors. This place is a cool scene and a beautiful building but our food was awful. It was so heavy and with out relief. I got Emmett's Bowl and my husband got Banana bread. We should have ordered lighter but at the price point we (wrongly) assumed whatever we got would have balance. Normally a restaurant charging this much for breakfast would be consider elevated and the chef would know when to hit the brakes, incorporating acid, vegetables, texture and not just piling in more and more fat and heaviness. This was pretentious Fair Food. Won't be back. read more
