    Cheese pizza

Pizza is great and sauce is delicious, but if youre looking for fast service this isnt the place. Service is slow and had us waiting 30 minutes + for a brownie after finishing our pizza. Still a great choice if youre in no rush.

Emmy Squared really squares up when it comes to pizza game. That crust? Thick, crispy-edged, and living its best life. Each bite delivers bold, punchy flavors--especially if you're smart enough to go for the ones with banana peppers (highly recommend if you like a tangy kick with your cheesy bliss). The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating--none of that too-cool-for-school pizza attitude here. Just warm, friendly vibes in a cozy space that makes you want to linger a little longer (possibly with another slice in hand). Pro tip: come hungry and leave all crust prejudice at the door. Emmy's turning Detroit-style into your new favorite style.

Dined here around 2:30 on a weekday during my holiday break. It's a pretty large restaurant and was essentially empty at this time. It got more crowded by the time we left which was getting close to dinner time. My friend and I split Le Big Matt Burger and the MVP pizza. My friend definitely enjoyed the burger more than me. It's not something I'd necessarily order again. The fries were great though! I preferred the pizza much more! I'm becoming more and more of a fan of Detroit style pizza. Of go back to try others. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich to go. I wasn't crazy about it. The chicken had an odd flavor to it and I found the sandwich overall to be dry, needed more sauce and cheese.

Any time I'm in New York, I cannot leave without having some pizza here! It is my absolute favorite pizza in the country! The service is always good and friendly and the ambiance is always chill. Love all the options here!

Solid. Solid. Solid. Plenty of seats. Wonderful service. Delicious pizza (I always get the $29 large Colony, which feeds two people for a very affordable price). Epic burger. Plenty of other yummy options to choose from (I need to go back soon and taste their seasonal cauliflower). Affordable kids menu. You really can't go wrong with these guys, pretty much any location you go. I particularly like this one, though, because it tends to be less crowded and they don't rush you. Recommended big time.

We made a reservation for Friday night but didn't have to as it was pretty empty. We ordered the burger and a pizza that had ricotta, sausage, and a few other things (forgetting the name). Both were good, and the ricotta on the pizza really added to the taste. The burger and waffle fries (super crispy but a little too seasoned) were good too, but I remember Emily's burger being better. We did order the Brussel sprouts salad too and apparently there was a mix up with the dressing because it tasted extremely salty. We let them know and they took it off the check because they apparently couldn't replace the dressing.

MVP is a must!! Love the ambiance and service, they were very accommodating with high chair. Also tried the truffle mushroom with ricotta, very delicious as well but prefer tomato based. Even though looks like small slices, it really filling & hearty!

Emmy Squared in New York, NY. National Burger Day should be only celebrated with @theemmyburger: Pat LaFrieda dry aged beef, EMMY sauce, caramelized onion, Grafton cheddar, on a pretzel bun with cornichon & fries. YUM! Very good! Ambience is great with very good pizzas. Menu has a lot of variety (hence the loaded fries at an Italian restaurant lol). Good service. Would come back!

This is specifically a review of the Emmy Squared Pizza for takeout. I've been to both main Emily's locations (West Village and Brooklyn) and absolutely love the pizza and the burger. For people that love American food, this chain (?) absolutely hits the spot. But this review is specifically for the takeout pizza. I've had the colony in the restaurant before but this time I got it for takeout. I ordered online, showed up in time, and the pizza was ready. I was in and out in a minute. I got home and scarfed down the entire pie (but kinda wanted to die afterwards). I love how crispy the crust is, and it really hits the spot when you want more of a thick crust pizza. I'd definitely recommend the colony for those that are undecided what kind of pizza they want.

Got the deluxe pizza as takeout. It was saucy, crispy on the edges and soft everywhere else. It was a nice option if you like pan style pizza. Not greasy. Downside is the price for the size. 2 people pretty much finished the box in 1 sitting and it was a bit salty.

We were thrilled to find two seats at the end of the bar when we arrived. As luck would have it, the two gentlemen next to us eventually left, allowing us to slide over and enjoy an even better view of the TV for the rest of the game. I started with a Tito's and club soda, but unfortunately, something seemed off--perhaps the club soda was flat. The drink just wasn't good. To their credit, the bartender took it back without hesitation and was very accommodating. I then ordered a Negroni after the woman sitting next to us highly recommended it. I don't usually drink gin, but this cocktail was absolutely delicious and changed my mind. Since we were there for several hours, we shared an order of zucchini and eggplant chips and happily snacked on them throughout the game. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, with a nice mix of ages and people enjoying the evening. We made sure to leave our bartender a generous tip since we occupied our seats for the entire game. Even though the Knicks didn't pull out a win that night, we certainly didn't leave defeated. I'd happily return for another game, cocktail, and fun evening out. And maybe even get dinner there. Little did I know there was another big room in the ack once you past the restrooms. They were having a thriving business there!

He was constantly busy zippin around but maintained a nice demeanor and made everyone feel welcome! Must orders of mine: the burger! Although small, it comes out piping hot and the fresh white onion between the bottom bun and burger is awesome because it doesn't make the bottom bun soggy and catches all the juices from the actual meat. Love subbing the fries for a Caesar salad! Standout appetizer is the fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki-- crispy, hot, juicy and I get it every time!

Reservations open 2 weeks in advance around 10am and they go super fest so I recommend you try for the day you need as for me I could only have gotten brunch on a Sunday. Those people spam the crap out of their buttons for the dinner spots and when I went I can see why. The place is brimming with old school New York charm and it's completely overwhelmingly beautiful and has an old jazzy vibe to it. It's large and spacious and they sat us in the middle of the entire restaurant. (I had a group of 6) The vibe was so good you don't really want to leave and they also don't really kick you out. I think we were the last ones to exit for brunch but they were so nice they didn't kick us out. Their espresso martinis are ok. It wasn't as amazing as a regular cocktail bar but it is just ok. We started off with a shrimp cocktail, smoked whitefish Caesar salad and the two plates of truffle monkey bread which was soooo good. I really enjoyed this as it's the main reason we came here. It's almost like a honey dinner roll with truffle. We got everything next which some people got their own and some shared. Some people got their own American breakfast platter which was some overdone eggs and a meat with gigantic toast and if you only order scrambled eggs it comes in a bowl but I would much rather order their classics like steak sandwich and the spicy shrimp was pretty good! Fries are top tier! I can see why people just come here for dinner. I would give it mostly 5 stars for the overall ambiance and environment and a few classics. I think their old fashioned is better than their espresso martinis though even though it looks so good in this type of setting! It's hard to get a reservation though so next time I'll need to try some new things if I score another!

Our return visit was a completely different experience. I appreciate the way the owner handled the situation and his willingness to have an open conversation with us. It doesn't change what happened that first night, but it did change my impression of how much he cares about his guests and his business. I wanted my review to reflect that as well.

Two-part, proper settle, tight dome, no rushing it. That's rarer than it should be in Midtown where half the bars treat a stout like a lager. Whoever's behind the bar here has been trained or grew up around it. Food's better than a second-floor pub between 5th and 6th has any right to be. The JRB burger comes on a house-ground patty (they grind in-house, and you can tell, loose texture, actual seasoning), caramelized onions cooked down all the way, not just softened, good cheese pull. Fried pickles on the side had a crisp cornmeal shell and stayed crunchy under the burger juices, which never happens. Buttermilk chicken salad was the surprise. Chicken actually brined, crust stayed on, greens weren't an afterthought. Only real knock: music was loud. Not sports-bar loud, more like the bartender's playlist got away from him. Fine at the bar, harder at a table if you want to talk. Room's got real bones. Reclaimed barn wood, old rail track as a foot rest, that big 45-star flag on the wall. Been here almost 20 years and it's aged into itself. For the neighborhood the pricing's fair. Beats P.J. Clarke's on the burger, loses on quiet. Go for a beer and a burger, not a date.
