Is this cheese? Not even sure what it is.

Horribly disappointing pizza. Looked and tasted like day old leftovers. I forced myaelf to eat it.

Ohmygod- what a sleeper hit! I had never come to Il Barettp before but was fortunate enough to get their food during a catering event. We ordered several of the pizzas and foccacia sandwiches. The pizza was pretty good- lots of toppings with a soft, thick dough. It reminds me of grandma style pizza, which I've always been a fan of. The foccacia sandwich- however- blew me away. We ordered the parma and the caprese. The parma had SUPER tender and fresh proscuitto, the stretchy mozzarella I've missed from NJ delis, freshly sliced tomatoes. However, the star was that foccacia. It was buttery, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with the fragrance of olive oil permeating through the shell. I was so impressed by the foccacia I could have had just a meal with that and been happy. Would def returb

Hidden little gem. Delicious pizza , other food looked good but I just had to try the pizza coming fresh. Very authentic Italian. Also have to go pastries in the fridge. Definitely a must.

The best Caprese Foccaccia I've ever had. The bread with tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto was so delicious. We sat at the counter and really enjoyed our quick lunch.

Great place for all-around Italian take out and creative focaccia pizzas. Favorites are the zucchini pizza, Parma focaccia panino and the carbonara pasta. Also, really friendly owner who's there everyday!

    Margherita Pie

Their Margherita Pie was everything I hoped for! I enjoy the simplicity about a good margherita pizza, and this was it. The crust was the perfect thickness with a good flavor. The tomato sauce was perfect with lots of flavor, and in general the pie was seasoned to perfection! I really enjoyed this pie and glad that I chose it, with the help from the previous yelp reviews! Delivery time was fast, and the pie was still hot! Nicely done! Big thumbs up!

    Salsiccia Slice Pizza

This place is bit out of the way, being on the far west side of town but if you're in the area, do stop by and try the pizza. The slices are surprisingly delicious and not like your typical square slice. The crust was like some fluffy clouds with a nice crusty, crunchy bottom and the toppings fresh and tasty. The 2 slices I got was the Salsiccia and Burrata. The burrata slice had this mild, super fluffy melty cheese topped with arugula and cherry tomato and with every bite the silky cheese just wanted to slide off but it was so good that you just wanted to not lose any piece and catch every bite of it. So if you are ever far west of 55 and 11th, good pizza awaits.

Delicious! I've ordered from here a few times and my orders are always correct and quickly delivered. Salads are fresh. Dressing are delicious. The rosemary bread is INCREDIBLE. I could eat pounds of it! I love it. im addicted to it haha. I wish I could order more of it. I'll definitely be ordering from here again. The pesto is yummy! I usually order the arugula and artichoke salad and caprese salad. The rosemary bread comes with them. Amazing!

Eggplant parm, more like sauce with a bit of eggplant.

I've never been so hungry after ordering $20 worth of food from a restaurant. I ordered the eggplant parm, which was a new item on their menu. What I got was a few slices of eggplant, a tiny bit of cheese that was barely visible, and a bunch of sauce. I've never received a smaller portion of eggplant parm than I did today. If it was actually good, then perhaps the extremely small portion could be forgiven, but it just wasn't that good. Also, it doesn't come with any pasta. It's unfortunate because other items at this restaurant are good, this just isn't. And I get eggplant parm all the time all over this city. This comes in at the bottom for value and taste.

I ordered the Lamb Ragù pasta, and every bite was packed with rich, slow-cooked flavor. To start, my brother and I shared a pizza and the lobster appetizer, and both were incredible. My brother ordered the truffle pasta, and after stealing a few bites, I can honestly say it was just as unforgettable. The atmosphere was on another level. Even on a Tuesday night, the restaurant was buzzing with energy, full of happy people, great conversations, and an authentic Italian vibe that made you want to stay for hours. The service from Jose was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had an amazing experience. If you're looking for incredible Italian food, outstanding service, and one of the best dinner spots in the East Village, OLIO E PIÙ belongs at the top of your list. Management was very accommodating on various levels - no need to describe the details as it's not relevant for an average review. know before you go - you literally have no other cheese but to have cheese in your pasta. Note that this is not a place for lactose intolerant kinds. I thought the concept was fresh pasta (which it is) but their ultimate menu items must include that cheese wheel. So fine. I figured they can at least give a non-cheese dish but rules are the rules. The place was packed on a weekend early evening. Lines were not forming (like it showed in the viral videos) but they were cooking up quite a bit at the front, because of carry out orders. Either way, on all angles - literally pretty much everything is ALL good and very positive. However, the one thing that needs to be addressed is that wheel made of cheese. Whoever created that chunk of a wheel, kudos to them/company. By golly - that gargantuan of a wheel was so filled with calories - I kid you not, it almost converted me to being lactose intolerant! So if you're about to have triple bypass the next day, I do not recommend this joint until you're fully healed. Yes, the flavors were good, but the cheesey elements were just too too rich. You also cannot tell them to lessen it, it's just set the way they cook the pasta within that barrel. Otherwise, the decor/ambience was nice, and tidy aspects really show through. Customer service was wonderful. Support your local businesses!

Was also thoughtful in handing us our orders correctly which was nice. For the food itself I heard good things and was hoping to love it more-- but I think I was slightly disappointed. The flavors aren't so bad overall and if you have a pasta itch it'll scratch. But I've tried other places better at a similar or even cheaper price point with protein added in. I got the "some like it hot" while my friend got "midnight desire" with burrata added in. I paid about 22 for each dish. Now for my thoughts - flavor for "some like it hot" was not bad, sauce was a slight bit watery for my liking. The spice was nice and I liked that part the most. Pasta was "OK". The ravioli was stuck together for some, filling was adequate but, I would've liked a little more. I don't want to sound harsh, but it was all around just an ok spot. Maybe it was just that day. Burrata added is nice, I took mine to go do sadly it was melted on top (recommend to pack the burrata separately for to go orders) - "midnight desire" is basically vodka and the flavor for this one was kind of odd for me. Not the normal vodka I am used to. I personally wouldn't really get it again. It wasn't a bad sauce, just not like vodka I know. Had a slight "bitter(?)" aftertaste from some seasoning I guess. I'm not a pasta connoisseur but I AM Italian and I've tasted a wide ranger of pastas lol-- I think yummy cheese pasta in Hell's Kitchen offers a similar concept, portion but is more filling, diverse options for adding and overall, slightly cheaper. Perhaps I'll give this place another try on another day..
