We have been to the Westport Emmy Squared for lunch before and loved it so we decided to pop in for dinner tonight. We almost ordered online for delivery, but I really wanted the brownie skillet with ice cream and they dont deliver the ice cream. Hours online said it was open until 10pm. we sat at 8pm and ordered our drinks, two pizzas, and a ceasar salad all in one shot. we were one of three tables, and there were three front of house people working. our ceasar salad took 20-25 minutes to come out. our pizzas came out about tenish minutes after that. we ate most of our food without anyone checking on us, which is fine - the food was good we could totally forgive the slow ish service. it seemed the staff was all cleaning at this point vs checking on tables. it was about 8:45ish/9 at this point when slmeone came to check on us and we were good. no one came back again until aroubd 9:30, when we asked for a box, a skillet brownie, and the check. the manager then came over and said they changed their hours, the kitchen now closes at 9, and the ovens were off so they could no longer give me a brownie. we respectfully indicated that we had been ready to order dessert for over a half hour, but no one came to check. why would you close the kitchen on actively seated tables an hour ahead of closing hours? without a heads up? are you allergic to money ? she brought back a cold brownie in a togo box and said it was on her. it felt to me like they were so eager to leave, that popping a premade brownie in an oven or microwave for a minute and throwing a scoop of ice cream on it was too much of an annoyance. if the oven made pizzas 40 min prior, even if it was off it surely wouldve been able to warm a half inch thick brownie in a couple minutes. well still give them another try, the food is always good, but man that was a bummer. read more

Service was great. It was a tight squeeze and they kindly sat us at the far end of the bar that def doubles as a service bar but we didn't kind. Bartender was friendly.... We were on a weekend food crawl of sorts and only wanted a drink and app to test the waters .. the garlic bread was good.. I mean, if the pizza is that thick and too crunchy then outside then I MAY not like it but I'll try it... But let my tell you... I AM coming back for that burger ... it looks life changing! atmosphere is cozy and dark with cool accent lights.... Big windows... great for the holiday season.. Heard rather negative things but I was surprised I actually thought the pizza was pretty good. I asked for it lightly baked since some photos it looked way too charred. The Margherita dough came out perfectly and the sauce was very flavorful. It was pretty small for the price but pizza wasn't too greasy and was a different style (Detroit?) from around here.. So worth a try. The salad was average.. The Le Matt burger someone I know said was way better than the pizza -- No way. Meat wasn't too good and it came with a hot sauce which my little one wouldn't eat. Service was...weird... only ppl in the place and it took 90 minutes among 3 different servers.. must have been an off day. It's okay. Expensive and all but glad we tried it! read more

First time here, went for a late lunch so not busy- had always heard about the one in nyc and have been wanting to try. Great location in Westport. Really cute inside. The pizza is sooooooooo good! We got the mvp and the vegan pizza. Even if you're not vegan, you NEED to try this pizza- it is so creamy and full of garlic and caramelized onions- so delicious. And the MVP was so good too- vodka sauce, red sauce and pesto- YUM! The crust on both pizzas was so crisp and flavorful and unlike other pizzas I've had before. Really wanted to give this place 4 stars but the type of pizza etc. is just not my preference. Located in a trendy downtown of Westport. Interior ambiance is fine. The service was great...our servers were very attentive. I was curious about Detroit-style pizza and I guess if you are looking for a change of pace from New Haven-style, get ready for a doughy pizza. Sauce was ok. We had the Roni which had plenty of pepperoni. The other side of the table had the Seoul kimchi pie and they said it was just ok. We had the Zia fries to start and after hearing so many folks rave about them, we found them to be average. This place has a nice selection of drinks and I had a good draft Black Hog pilsner. After being sat we waited about 10 minutes before we were greeted. And then after 18 more minutes of waiting for our draft beers we left. 28 minutes nothing..... tables were still dirty from when we first arrived and the table next to us was just as frustrated. Emmy Squared is located on a strip of shops and restaurants that is decorated with care, making the ambiance easy to enjoy. We were seated inside at a table for two and ordered the Regular Margherita Pizza with garlic and hot honey. This was one of the best grandma pies I've had a while. The entire combination of the crust, sauce, burrata, basil, hot honey, and garlic was amazing.. I cannot wait to go back. We will definitely be ordering the larger size. We also ordered the skillet brownie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was good, but nothing about it was notable enough to mention. The service was great and the food arrived pretty quickly. We had been hoping to sit for a quick dinner before meeting up with friends and we ended up waiting forty five minutes between finishing our appetizer and having someone check on us and ask if we were ready to order. We ordered a time continued to go by, we thought we had been forgotten. We had at that point been sitting for over an hour and were going to be late for our plans. Came here with a group of 11, and we were accommodated and had a great server! Our drinks were delicious and all of the cocktails are so creative. The pizzas were amazing and you can't go wrong with any of the appetizers, the mozzarella sticks were especially delicious. The service was so great! The manager swung by and checked in on us and even offered us some dessert on the house. It's a very nice spot and has great ambiance, perfect for a night out in the summer. Wow, this place blew our (high) expectations out of the water! We got the Zia fries and a large classic pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni. I was literally shocked at how delicious everything was. The fries were seasoned perfectly and I wanted to bottle the queso sauce and drink it. I'm pretty particular about waffle fries but can confidently say these were the best waffle fries I ever had. The pizza was amazing. Best I've had in Connecticut. I'm not a big sauce person usually, but the sauce was delicious, the perfect amount of sweetness. You could tell all the ingredients were high quality. The dough, cheese, sauce and toppings were all delicious. The service was great. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, a tricky balance. Prices were reasonable. The pizzas aren't that big but they're very filling. I could only eat two small pieces. When you claim a chopped Italian salad feeds "2-3 people," it needs to be enough for at least one middle-schooler. Tried this for the first time over the weekend after the local hype about the opening. Had never had Detroit style pizza before but grew up in and around New Haven so wanted to give it a go. We did takeout. It was really really good. The sauce was especially flavorful. I got the classic which I don't normally do but I wanted to try the stripped down back to the basics kind of pie. As I also have a gluten allergy I was thrilled they offer gluten free crusts and that their website lists their gf protocols, which made me feel more comfortable with the experience.
