The portion size is quite generous, if you get the combo with vegetables and soup it can easily be shared between two people. I was convinced that I was famished and needed my own pot of rice today. I was quickly humbled and felt full halfway through. Their soup is so nourishing and felt like it was replenishing my energy that was drained by the summer heat. Water and utensils are self service and there's no tipping. We got the eel, classic, and black pepper beef claypots. The food came out in around 15 min or so since they make each claypot rice fresh. After sprinkling some soy sauce on top and giving it a mix, we dug in and it was so delicious! Snow Pear & Pig Soup This was easily the star of the meal. Sweet, comforting, and surprisingly delicious. It even had snow fungus in it. Solid flavor and packed with plenty of pork ribs for the portion size. Chinese Broccoli & Blanched Lettuce Pretty basic veggies. Nice that they come with the combo, but you probably don't need to order them separately since the claypot rice already includes Shanghai bok choy. Chilled Okra This was fine if you like okra. They comped it because our food took over 30 minutes. Side note: Since they're brand new, patience is key. They had enough staff, but the servers were walking around asking customers for their table numbers -- even though the restaurant is small. A bit chaotic, but understandable for a new place. Final thoughts: The claypots needed a bit more time on the heat -- there was zero crispy rice at the bottom, which is honestly the best part of claypot rice. Been wanting to come here since I first saw the signage that they had on the storefront. So I went today with the wife and the food was great. The Rice in the claypot was perfectly cooked and the meat was so tender. The crispy rice crust was perfect for me as sometime other claypot rice I had in the past was too thick and sticky but not here is perfect for me it had the best amount of crunchy. I highly recommend when you put in the soy sauce to start mixing the right and making sure to get the rice crust off the bottom of the pot as it will be harder once it cools down. We recommend to get the put with everything on it as that was we had and it was perfect. We also had the soup which honestly was really good is very flavorful and the broth was very clear. The sitting was very tight due to the amount of customer there was in there but the employees responded to us pretty quick to get us seated when they had tables open. The decor is very modern for a claypot restaurant. Upon entry, you stop at the cashier/hostess where you place your food order, pay & then sit at a table with your assigned number tag. Is a pretty simple menu with claypot rice choices à la carte or in combo. It's a no tip policy and not a place to linger. The place is not large, with simple picto decor describing the fresh ingredients used in rice. Claypot rice alone ranges from $15-25 pending on the topping you choose. Once we seat, drop off your bag, take off your jacket and go to the self serve station to get pickled radishes that will go wonderfully with the claypot rice and cup of water. They do have a free drink options but very limited. We decided to order mushroom chicken claypot rice & Chinese sausage special claypot rice. Since everything is prepared as ordered be ready to wait 10-20 min. As soon as the rice arrived, we poured in the soy sauce in a jar in the table, hear the sizzle, mix & enjoy. Came here and ordered two claypots with a vegetable and soup add on for one of the claypots. For the choice of vegetables you get a choice of a hot veggie or cold one, i was in the mood for seaweed that day for whatever reason and got a decent average dish out of it, the soup was good, had great flavor and salt content and was probably the best thing I had here. The claypots were below average to somewhat sufficient. They used the wrong type of rice as some of the grains were incredibly hard and not fluffy like it should be, portions are smaller than I'd like for the price I paid and the claypot did not have a crisp bottom which im accustomed to from claypot rices. They had a strange condiment which tasted similar to fermented tofu, not bad, but not a flavor in used to for claypot. The taste of the dishes themselves was just okay, not bad, but nothing amazing, just the combination of everything combined left me wanting more from this business. This clay pot restaurant opens at 11am. You order at the register by the door and then sit down at any available table or seatings by the open kitchen, where you can view the clay pot rices being made. I went close to opening, just before the crowd, and was able to get a table with my friend. They have a self-serve condiment and water station. They have both cold water and hot water. The condiment station has pickled radish and spicy sauce with little bits of green beans in it. There is also a rice cooker with rice in it. I think customers can get more rice if needed. I didn't need more rice. The chopsticks and spoons are in the hidden drawers in the table. You just pull out the drawer. I got 2 clay pot rices: the Chinese sausage, and the chicken and mushroom. They come with 2 pieces of bok choy. It comes in the clay pot if you dine-in. They don't give you a bowl, so you just eat out of the clay pot. The sausage was sliced in thin pieces. Pretty good, but I like it a little bit thicker chunks. The chicken and mushroom one was good too. By themselves the flavor is mild, but you have to add the spicy green bean sauce. This IS the sauce. So delicious. It makes the dish. I don't really know what it is, but it has bits of chopped up string beans and soy bean in it and has a spicy kick. Not too spicy. 1 little jar was empty and 1 other little jar was almost empty when I went to get more for my table. The pickled radish is really good also. I refilled that too. When you get to the bottom of the clay pot, you can pour some hot water into it. It doesn't have to be a lot. Just enough to cover the remaining rice that is stuck to the pot. Leave it for a few minutes. Then scrape it with the spoon shovel. Add the spicy green sauce. My pot was nice and crispy. So it was delicious. I cleaned the pot. I was so full. The rice and flavors are slightly different than some clay pot rices I've had, but overall with the spicy sauce, it's quite tasty for dine-in. You leave everything on the table and someone comes around to pick up the clay pot. It's a no tipping required restaurant. They have congee on the menu, but it was not available when I went. The line basically is just to order and pay and then you get to get seated right away. They're able to seat 40 people per hour so the turnaround is quite fast.
