Had a sausage (peppers and onions on half) delivered to Tim's all road brewery in Bordentown. Excellent pie!

We decided to try something new and local while we were in town. I really wanted some pizza and my wife really wanted a meatball sub so we tried them out. The phone call was great. They answered the phone properly, they did not make me wait long and they took my order eagerly. They got my total together and told me it would be about 30 minutes. That was very accurate, I didn't have to call looking for my order at all. I got a large pizza with pepperoni, pineapples, and extra cheese and a meatball sub which was $33 and some change. $39 after tip. I was terribly wrong about the extra cheese. To be quite honest, the sauce was so thin that everything slid off of the pizza slice when you grabbed it up from the box. There was so much cheese on this pizza that everything was melted together and the slices were not even cut properly. I actually had a really hard time eating this pizza and even when I let it harden up a little bit, it was still sliding off of the very thin dough. The crust at the end was phenomenal, but the actual pie itself was a bit of a nightmare. I couldn't eat much more of it and ended up cutting the crust off and just eating that. Sad day. We came, we tried and wouldn't return. read more

Great sandwich, but the pie is the real deal! Tucked away from the main road, so if you're an out of towner like me, it's easy to miss.

They definitely know how to make a pizza! Could have been a little more generous with the toppings (which cost them a point), but I enjoyed my Philly Steak Pizza thoroughly, and won't be shy about heading back next time I'm in the area. Maybe shell out for "extra" something to make sure it's completely amazing. read more

Looking at it from a purely pizza quality lens Empire isn't the best place to order from in the area, but it is a few things that give it my seal of approval that include.... Its the cheapest place to get pizza in town, get a big ole pizza for about 11 bucks, and even less if you order one of their specials, thats not including the other reasonably priced food stuffs they have to offer, the Stromboli, and Wings, and chicken fingers, and the rest of the pizza place usual suspects are prices that seem more like a McDonalds than a pizza joint. They are open late, only place in the township open til 11 sometimes 12 at night, knocking back some brews, get a little hunger pang, its 11:30 on a saturday, we are calling Empire it still runs circles around Dominos and Papa Johns and other late night places for pizza. Its full of the nicest folk. It really is. They are always nice and helpful, and the only times they ever messed up my order they came back with a whole pizza for free, when I didnt even ask for it. They don't make staff like this anymore. So yeah, the pizza is passable, it'll hit the spot, even won't be making any "best of lists" any time soon, but the service takes this place to the next level good, so givem a call. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Hands down best pizza in the area, maybe anywhere. The chicken tenders are flavorful and tender. Love their old fashioned honey mustard. The mozzarella sticks are some of the best also. It's consistent (been ordering there for years!) and you'd never guess for a tiny little place along the highway. Highly recommend! read more

Love their buffalo chicken cheesesteak and pizza! Also a fan of there chicken and original cheesesteaks. Good amount of seating and atmosphere. When I do get a buffalo chicken cheesesteak, I usually ask for them to toast the bun. The crunch makes it even better!! All around a great pizza joint. Delivery took an hour and 7 minutes for a sandwich and fries. When I called to ask, the woman who answered the phone could not have cared less. She cut me off to ask, Address?, Address? Then told me, "It's on the way" with no apology for being so late. Well I hope after 50 minutes it is on its way! The food arrived cold, soggy, and wet from the rain. The delivery guy said something like sorry it's wet. Yeah ok, that's totally cool, since I like eating cold, wet food! They don't have plastic bags to put takeout food in when it's pouring rain outside? The delivery guy had no umbrella either. Very bad customer service! I'm giving this place 5-stars based completely on one menu item--The Vamp. You won't see it on their menu when you go in. It's spread by word-of-mouth. Other places make buffalo chicken subs around Jersey and Philly. Empire makes the best. This, by the way, is coming from someone who doesn't even prefer meat... but is getting the craving just by writing this. They put drugs in that sandwich. A vamp consists of a hoagie, red hot sauce, white chicken meat, provolone and blue cheese. Blue cheese is another thing I don't normally prefer. The Vamp is an exception. They grill up the shredded meat, dousing it in the red hot wing sauce when it's about ready. While doing so, they toast a hoagie and put provolone down on it. Finally, after shoveling in the chicken, they put the blue cheese on top. If I could give just the sandwich a review I would, as we've only ordered The Vamp time and again every time we visited. Having been separated from Jersey for too long now, my brother has taken to working out his own recipe. Empire still takes the wing sauce covered cake. We're out to see if we can't change that.. . 'cuz damn, Jersey's not worth the trip. read more

Hands down the best place to get a buffalo chicken cheesesteak. You'll never find a place that does it better. This is less of a hyperbole than it is truth. They make it with a perfect ratio of blue cheese and buffalo sauce. The chicken is cut up (almost shredded) and is mixed together with the buffalo and blue cheese. The bread is also perfect for it. And the cherry on top is that it's all done so neatly that you don't have to worry about opening the foil up to see a mess. And up until this point, I've only talked about the Vamp (the local name for this buffalo chicken cheesesteak). They take your order and make your order pretty quick. I've never waited longer than what I usually wait each time. Their pizza is also very good. I used order from this place often when I was a kid and all of my friends wanted something to eat later into the night. Their delivery people are also great people. I'd say tip them more than usual because I've known then to deliver in pouring rain or freezing weather. Overall, this is one of my favorite and most cherished local restaurants. Great great pizza and salad, just ordered a delivery 30 mins prior to closing , I know I was cutting it close and don't like doing last minute deliveries because I know how it feels like,been in the restaurant industry for many years and I also just got to my location! But this place had no problem takin orders to the last minute, lady on the phone was very friendly and nice and took my order easy! Delivery driver was very very polite and nice and seemed like he didn't hate delivering at this time, I know a lot of places that are rude about ordering late and drivers who are pissed to deliver but this guy had a smile on his face and very friendly! me and the fam are on our way back home from visiting more fam up north and we made a quick pit stop in NJ. I used to live a block away from Empire, so I've ate there and have gotten take out more times than I can count. Empire is by far the best pizza place in the Bordentown area. This is by no means a fancy pizza/ Italian restaurant. But for the price, Empire is definitely the best bang for the buck! Everything on the menu is delicious a prices are perfect for the portions that they give. The hoagies and cheesesteaks have a good weight to them and the salads and pastas are quite large. In my opinion, their Sicilian pie is the best thing on the menu. The crust is crunchy and flakey on the outside, but warm and moist on the inside. Their pizza sauce is really good, the cheese is nice and gooey, and they have the perfect sauce to cheese ratio. Another steal is their side salad because for the size, it think it's borderline underpriced;-) All in all, if you're looking for something quick, simple, and good, look no further! read more

Food is delicious and dirt cheap! Also, they are super fast, I've never waited longer then their estimated pick up time for food.

I love their Vamps (the local name for their buffalo chicken cheese steak) I take late night courses and that is typically my first choice for a late meal. It is about the same price as a fast food but it is more filling for that money and their pizzas are with in the top 5 for me in this area which for this area there is about 20 so pretty good. Vamps there are amazing, but other pizzas in the area outdo their's. However, you could do much worse in the Bordentown area.

Tucked away in the back of a strip mall, you'll discover good food and great service. Only open in the evenings, thier pizza is fresh and tastey and thier buffalo chicken salad is epic. read more
