Chicken Parmigiana
Aida R.

I came here for a birthday dinner & had a good experience! The wait staff were extremely kind, attentive, & thorough with their food service. The restaurant itself is great for luxury-like photos, however the chicken parm was not worth the priced it's listed for. Granted this is a steakhouse, so the prices are naturally astronomical, but I would've expected a lower price range for the non-steak items on the menu. The flavor & taste of their chicken parm dish was very basic, nothing out of the ordinary, however I'd come back to try their steak dishes as that is their specialty.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Empire Steak House East. The atmosphere was fancy and the service was attentive, but the food was a major letdown. The branzino was cold, the mac and cheese was grainy and seemed to be made incorrectly, and the steaks were inconsistently salted. The creamed spinach had a glue-like texture, the calamari was bland, and the fries were soggy, greasy, and completely unsalted. For a restaurant at this price point, I expected much better. The service was good, but unfortunately the food was disappointing across the board.

Ribeye. Baked potato.

Great spot we love it! Been back - get the great ribeye or strip. Best baked potato. Really attentive service and want you to be happy.

Emperors Steak for Two

Empire Steakhouse was the perfect post-show dinner spot. We were seated right at our reservation time, and since it's a smaller venue, I'd definitely recommend booking ahead. Everything we ordered was a hit. The steak for two easily fed three of us and came with a side potato for each person, which was a great value and perfectly done. Others in our group ordered the seafood ravioli and absolutely loved it. It's a wine-and-beer-only spot, but the service more than made up for it. Both the wine and food service were outstanding. Overall, a fantastic experience with great food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere. Would absolutely return.

Great food and excellent ambiance service. The boss and I go here often for lunch special pre-fix. $49 gets you an appetizer, main and dessert/coffee.

We needed a last-minute arrangement for a party of 20, and they were wonderful in accommodating us. The pre-theater menu was excellent for our budget. The three-course prix fixe menu featured impressive presentations, and all of our guests really enjoyed it. The quality of service was excellent! The cocktails were well-made, and every course--appetizer, main dish, and dessert--was delicious. The ambiance was gorgeous as well. We will definitely come again!

Bone in ribeye

Decided to try this place without a rez and it wasn't a big problem, was wondering why there was no wait or anything. The appetizers were absolute trash, thought about sending back both the tuna and the baked clams since they were even worse than what you might expect at a cafe. THE ONLY THING redeeming about this place is the steak. The ribeye had a deep dry aged flavor and was cooked a perfect medium rare as I ordered and was very tender. The sear and crust could have been slightly better but it was excellent regardless. I found it strange to have such a large contrast between the high quality of steak and super low quality of appetizers. They did take the class back since the bread crumbs were soggy. I'd only go for the steak, but don't bother ordering anything else. The steak was 5 stars and the appetizers dragged this down to 3 stars.

What's pleasant find in NYC! Old school ambiance and charm. Service was crisp and attentive. The food was very good from the octopus to the porterhouse. Worth a visit when in Times Square area.

After reaching out via email and receiving no response from Empire I've decided to leave this review. After researching steakhouses for what was a very special day in NYC and settling on Empire I was left disappointed with the meal. The macaroni and cheese was good but not great, the mushrooms were probably the best I've ever had anywhere and I love mushrooms but the filet ruined the meal. On an order of medium rare we were served an overseared on 1 side filet that was left dry and cooked to a well done temp for at least a solid inch into the upper piece of the filet. I have provided pictures showing how unevenly it was cooked. I've looked at countless pictures of reviews left for Empire and this is not the norm. The filet was simply overcooked. We didn't have time for another filet to be cooked as we had tickets to a show afterwards. With countless restaurants and steakhouses to choose from I wouldn't recommend it return to Empire unfortunately.

Great location near Times Square. This steak house delivers on good steak at a fair price. It's definitely on the expensive side, but in line for quality steak. We had a large group of over ten people. There were several waiters or bus boys helping us, so they kept topping off water, clearing plates and attending to our needs. Most of the appetizers were seafood, which the group appreciated. I would recommend if you are looking for steak dinner and some nice seafood appetizers. The only negative is they do not have a full liquor license so if you want something other than beer or wine, go to their other locations.

The steak was good. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery service was good but not genuine. It seemed placated .... Not what we expected. Not coming back . Thank you thank you

First time here for restaurant week lunch. Service was excellent and very friendly. The food and ambiance were good. I wish the portions of mashed potatoes and veggie were a bit bigger, but that is my only complaint on the food. My slightly bigger complaint was the difficulty in maneuvering inside of the bathroom stalls. There is literally no room between the toilet and the stall door.

NY New York Strip Steak (Boneless)

First time trying empire steak and it was definitely good. The fried calamari was my favorite appetizer for sure. The meatballs in red sauce were pretty good and the tomatoes with mozzerella were not bad either. The oil on the table was really high quality so that was awesome. The NY strip was cooked nicely and I enjoyed the meal overall. The waiters were extremely fast and nice.

Nice classic steak house with a really good burger bar. Quiet ambiance. Nice wines. If you're staying in the turtle Bay Area check it out.

Once we were sat, they gave us an overview of the menu, the highlights, and specials that weren't on the menu including Tomahawk steak, rock shrimp appetizer, side of corn and more. We opted for the 1/2 dozen oysters, Porterhouse for 2, and a side of spinach and roasted corn. Everything was exceptional and a good portion for 2 people. For dessert, we ordered their special, Tiramisu, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Since we were celebrating a special occasion, they gave us a lava cake on the house which made our night even more special. I would definitely come back here to try a new cut of steak and reorder some of their sides.

The place is beautiful, I love the ambiance and I love being able to see the cuts of meat from the window outside. I opted for the filet mignon from the lunch special menu, medium, while my fiancé got a NY sirloin, medium rare. However, we got a very bloody red filet mignon and a pinkish sirloin. Iykyk. The food was good and other than that mistake, I have nothing to say about it, delicious drinks, too. One of the best dirty martinis found in the city. HOWEVER. We sat down at 2:15, and got our food at 3:20. It took a long time both to order and to receive our dishes. I understand being busy but we left the restaurant at 4:35

I usually get the wonton soup with the jiaozi dumplings, and it's one of my favorite things on the menu. I'm not the biggest fan of the wings, but the shrimp and lobster roll is definitely worth trying. The service has always been good when I've visited, and the atmosphere is always a vibe. It's close to the Theater District, so it's a great spot to grab dinner before or after a show. There's usually a nice crowd, and you might even bump into an actor or celebrity. A Birthday Dinner That Felt Like a Scene From a New York Movie…read more We chose Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse for my birthday dinner because we wanted something special--not just a good meal, but a real New York moment. And the moment we walked in, I thought, yes... this is exactly where a birthday should happen. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. The high ceilings, dramatic staircase, rich wood, elegant details, and huge dining room made everything feel grand and glamorous. It had the classic energy of an American steakhouse, but with a modern and luxurious New York style. Then I noticed the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows. Honestly, the glass was so perfectly clean that I almost forgot there was glass there at all. For a second, it felt like the entire city was simply open in front of us. I was strangely impressed by this because giant windows in a busy city are not always this spotless. But here, they were crystal clear, and the New York view became part of our dinner. We sat looking out at the city, ordered wine, and began my birthday celebration. Then, as if someone had carefully planned the scene, a sudden rain shower started outside. Perfect timing. There we were, sitting inside this beautiful restaurant, watching the rain fall over New York through the giant windows, drinking delicious wine, eating incredible food, and celebrating my birthday with my family. It felt less like dinner and more like a scene from a movie. The wine was wonderful, and every dish we ordered was delicious. The oysters were fresh and clean-tasting. The burrata was creamy, soft, and beautiful with the tomatoes. The warm bread arrived shiny with butter and was dangerously good--the kind of bread that makes you say, "I'm only having one," and then suddenly the basket is empty. The fish entrée was beautifully prepared, and the steak was exactly what I hoped for. It had a deeply seared, flavorful crust on the outside while staying tender and juicy inside. This was not the kind of steak you quietly eat. This was the kind of steak that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a moment. That silence was the review. Everything tasted carefully prepared, and the ingredients felt fresh and high quality. There was not one disappointing dish on the table. At the end of dinner, they brought out a lovely birthday dessert with strawberries, pink cream, a candle, and a "Happy Birthday" chocolate decoration. It was sweet, pretty, and the perfect ending to the evening. The beautiful interior, the sparkling wine, the city view, the sudden rain, the excellent food, and my family celebrating together made the entire night unforgettable. I went there expecting a nice birthday dinner. Instead, I received a full New York birthday movie scene--with steak. I would absolutely return the next time I visit New York. Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse is a wonderful choice for a birthday, anniversary, romantic dinner, or any occasion when an ordinary meal simply is not enough.
