Felt lucky to have snagged a last minute reservation on a Saturday night. Arrived on time and was promptly seated. Waiter Gerard J. was friendly and welcoming. He helped us make the right selection of steak, and appetizer. We were seated with a nice view of the outside promenade. At first glance the dining room didn't seem large but on the trip to the restroom I learned that they can accommodate large groups and have private rooms as well. Restroom was clean and equipped. We ordered the crab cake, 12 oz. filet mignon and lamb chops, and the lemon cake. The crab cake was chocked full of delicious crab meat, not a lot of breading. The steak was flavorful and arrived hot. The double-bone lamb chop entree was enormous, and delicious. It was accompanied by parsnip puree and a mint-pistachio chimichurri, scrumptious!! For my pre-birthday dessert I chose the lemon cake and was delighted to see Gerard had also brought [ME ;) ] us the strawberry Hibiscus cheesecake and I was so happy he did!!! The atmosphere felt upscale but still comfortable, which made it perfect for a special occasion without feeling overly formal. We never felt rushed, and everything came out at the right time, which made the night feel relaxed and enjoyable. The steaks were cooked exactly how we ordered them--tender, flavorful, and high quality. All of the food had great flavor, and the sides were just as good and easy to share. Absolute perfection! This is one of the better steakhouses I've been to in a while. Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse blew me away from start to finish. The atmosphere is classic upscale elegance with that perfect Midtown energy, high ceilings, great views, and impeccable service from the moment we walked in. My date and I kicked things off with some incredible appetizers that set the tone for the night. The Thick-Cut Nueske's Bacon was smoky, perfectly glazed with that bourbon molasses kick. The Del's Jumbo Lump Crab Cake was pure heaven, loaded with sweet crab meat and that rich Cajun-lobster cream sauce. And the Wagyu Meatballs? Tender, flavorful, with the tomato fondue and shaved Manchego making every bite melt-in-your-mouth delicious. For our main courses, my date ordered a porterhouse and I the surf and turf trio. I requested medium well for the surf and turf and rare for the porterhouse. Porterhouse came out perfect as per my date! You could practically see the blood still dripping. It was massive, beautifully charred on the outside, juicy and perfectly cooked. It had that rich, beefy flavor that only prime cuts deliver. (In his words) The surf and turf came in a little bit undercooked but our waiter Jesse immediately took it back in and had them cook it more to my liking. It came out great on the second try! We couldn't get enough of the delicious complimentary bread. It was warm, fresh, with that honey butter or whatever magic they put on it. We finished the whole basket and would have asked for more if we weren't already stuffed. Service was attentive without being overbearing, The manager Cesare came by to check on us from time to time without being overbearing to make sure we were enjoying our meal. He was a very nice man. I'm a big fan of their crab cakes they are always cooked perfectly and you can never go wrong with the tomahawk steak especially paired with a glass of red wine.For sides I usually get the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes they are creamy and soft I love it and this time I had tried the crispy rice with Ahi Tuna, Hamachi, Wasabi Aioli .The ambiance feels intimatemaking it a nice spot for date night or just treating yourself to a great dinner. This is a tough review to write. We came for dinner last night after watching a show. The staff was spectacular. Everyone from the hostess to our server was amazing and attentive. The espresso martini was excellent. We shared the bone in ribeye and the mashed potatoes and both were a little lackluster. I think it was because they were both really heavy on the pepper which isn't really our favorite. The steak was cooked to perfection though and had a nice char. Beautiful space across from Radio City Music Hall. I was immediately seated and Peter was at my table asking about water. Expertly crafted martini to begin my experience. With Peter's guidance I settled on lobster bisque and a Waygu fillet. The soup was excellent and the cup was much larger than I've had in other restaurants. It was delicious and had some nice big chunks of lobster. The filet was absolutely perfectly cooked to medium rare and not overly seasoned like in so many other restaurants. The service was lackluster. He never offered what Easter menu they had for the day or what wines would be best for the meal. The food was good , despite the fact that I wasn't given a 16oz NY strip cut of beef instead of the prime rib as requested. When I asked was there a mistake made I was told no. I know my steak and that wasn't prime rib. I was hungry so I ate it. My wife wasn't happy with her lamb chops and finished off my steak. This was my third visit to Del Frisco's, and unfortunately, it wasn't as strong as my previous experiences. I ordered the prime rib ribeye and found the top portion overly salty, which was disappointing. The Chilean sea bass was good, but not memorable--though to be fair, seafood isn't really their specialty since it's a steakhouse. During my last two visits, the steaks were excellent, so I was expecting the same level of quality. The side dishes were decent but nothing standout. On the positive side, our server was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. The ambiance, as always, was impeccable. I'll go wild as well but that's always risky ( lots of rewards, but disappointments as well) , but Del Friscos is always dependable for a nice meal. It was almost difficult to focus on the food because I was so mesmerized with the outdoor view. Definitely request an upstairs table with your must have reservation. My daughter who has not been was amazed with the space one had as a diner. I don't like touching elbows with folks ( have to learn to like it in this city) but not here. Plenty of room and the wonderful staff do not try to rush you out. She is already looking into having an event here due to everything we experienced. My main reason for coming is their crab cakes with lobster sauce. From the first time I had them, I was hooked. So hooked that i managed to wrangle the recipe from someone. (Not at this restaurant, but years ago) I am not above that. Second favorite is the sea bass with crab fried rice. Stellar every time. The rest of the party got the usual steaks and such. We all loved it. The sommelier was great although he just said, " great choice" with our decision because I have a Smartypants wino in the family. I took my husband here for his 30th birthday and was so very pleased with the experience. The restaurant was decorated spectacularly for Christmas. The table we were initially seated at was in a corner between another table and a wall which was so tight we could not fit, but the staff were quick to accommodate us upstairs at a different table! It has been so long since I last reviewed Del Frisco's, I don't eat red meat anymore ... but guess what, they have so many other great dishes, I didn't even miss it. I ordered the swordfish lunch special and it was so good! Dont sleep on the $39 lunch special because it is scrumptious and comes with so many great options. Chicken, fish, burgers, salad, soup... it's all good and plentiful. The restaurant also has a great view of 6th Avenue and all of the festivities going on outside, especially right now with the hustle and bustle of the holidays. It's right across from Radio City so it's the perfect place, before or after you see the Christmas show. I cant say enough about Del Frisco's. I've been to many of their locations across the country and this one is my #1. It never gets old. Other people in the group got a petit filet and other sides like broccolini which I don't have pictured here. Salmon was good as was chicken (I know it's a steakhouse! But it was worth mentioning) Caesar salad i split as an appetizer with another person as well. They forgot to put dressing on side (hate when the dressing drowns a salad), but it was still edible. Some new things I tried: - eggnog: seasonal, and while crafted well, it confirms that I'm not a big fan of eggnog. I did enjoy it the more it was watered down, and be careful, the alcohol hits hard - wagyu meatballs: a good appetizer, two hefty balls. For our main courses, my wife ordered the Braised Angus Short Rib and was later informed that it was sold out, so she settled for the Filet Mignon, and I had the Bone-In Prime Ribeye. For our sides we had fries, broccolini and the Classic Caesar. Oh, and not to mention, that wonderful warm bread for the table. All of the meats were cooked to perfection, the sides were great, but on a side note... the side of fries was way more then we expected. I would say was enough for 5 people. The steak house itself has a nice sexy ambiance, but still chill enough for the fellas to grab a meal or hang at the bar. The service was great, our waiter M.D. was very professional and attentive. I'm not sure if it's meant to be like this but the restaurant seemed really cramped and servers and customers were really squishing by the tables to move through. Initially they sat my mom and I at the base of the staircase and I said absolutely not - there's so much traffic there and we'd be so exposed so I asked if we could move to a different table and luckily they did accommodate us. The service here was quite slow. Not sure if it was a Christmas Day thing, but it started off in the coat check place where the lady working there was literally chatting to these other guests for several minutes while my mom and I were just waiting to check our coats in. There was no sense of urgency and they were just chatting and laughing...eventually someone called us to our table but we still hadn't checked in our coats. Like at least check our coats in first and continue talking to your friends. The food was fine. Nothing to write home about. You come here for the vibes and not the food. Oysters were fresh but had no liquid which was weird, like they drained them. I wouldn't get them again. Caesar salad was bland. Lobster Mac and cheese was pretty good with a good amount of lobster, but the pasta was slightly overcooked. We got a ribeye steak and that was good. Well seasoned and cooked. I wouldn't come back here but it was nice to experience the traditional, quintessential New York vibe in midtown with the Christmas trees and tourists enjoying the lights right outside the restaurant. read more

The food was extremely delicious. I knew we were in for a good start when even the free bread rolls were so light and fluffy, with the perfect mix of salt and sugar. The steak of course was exceptional, but the lobster mac and cheese and sautéed spinach were also really great. The bacon was a little dry, but I still had two pieces. However, maybe the star of the show was the butter cake. The other dessert we ordered (lemon cake) was also good, but the butter cake was seriously addicting in flavor and texture. However, it could have been presented better. We really enjoyed the tuna crispy rice and the crab fried rice and black bean chili oil that came along with the seared seabass. The creamed spinach was also pretty good and came with bacon. The truffle fries came in an impressively large bowl, but were overcooked and had too much truffle oil. The seared seabass was cooked really well with a nice sear, but it felt under seasoned and would have benefited from an additional sauce or more of the chili oil drizzled on top. Personally, I like a sauce with my steak and the bourbon peppercorn sauce was a nice gravy like sauce. But not sure if it was worth an additional $7. We also really enjoyed the complimentary bread with honey and salt that came with the table. The restaurant is huge with 2 floors and floor to ceiling windows. I had dinner here with friends last week and if I were only rating my filet, it'd be five stars for sure. It was delicious and the gorgenzola sauce (they call it fondue) added great flavor. Warm bread is always a plus. The space is enormous -- two levels and cavernous. The acoustics were bad. We sat on the upper level and people had trouble hearing each other directly across from each other at a four-top table. The poor acoustics really took away from the dining experience. Service was good. Nothing amazing, but met our needs. Prices are quite high, but that seems to be par for the course in a NY steakhouse. Wheelchair accessibility notes: Not sure if there is a wheelchair accessible bathroom on the main level, but there is one on the upper level and it is right next to a staff elevator, so at worst, one could use the staff elevator to access it.
