No respect with client's time and dishonest. We're supposed to have someone come to us today to give us an estimate with the project. We cleared our schedule and waited. The 2hr window had passed and no one showed up. I called customer service and they said that that no one is home which is a BIG LIE. First, nobody showed up in the ring camera. If I could give zero stars I would. This company is ridiculous. I ordered carpet for my house, moved all my furniture, I have a 4 kids, one baby, and 2 dogs. Took the day off work, only for the installer to never show up and call to cancel at 345pm the day of after I waited all day. I called the company to cancel my order and they will not refund my deposit even though their company never called or showed up on our agreed date and time. The representative, Sarkis, was great, very experienced and pleasant to work with. He came with a variety of samples and got us a very good price (I had done some research before he came). Carpet is of very good quality, a silvery gray, as is the pad underneath. A pleasure to walk barefoot -- warm and soft. The installers was great, for the most part. A few minor glitches. It actually makes me very sad to see that Empire Today has such poor reviews because our experience with them was nothing but incredible! They went above and beyond our expectation! We were of course a little worried and apprehensive because of the Yelp reviews. But from beginning to end, the experience was nothing but pleasant. Jacob was our consultant in Los Angeles, and he was not only personable, he made sure he was on call for us during the entire process. He came over twice to show us samples and was very patient and informative. He helped us figure out what was best for our budget, and in the end the total cost was very affordable compared to all the other contractors we had consulted previously Once we scheduled our hardwood floors to be replaced we were ready to go! Empire hired Luna Flooring to do our work and Jose, the owner, along with his team of Francisco, Kevin , Paco and Omar were simply the best! They were incredibly hard-working, meticulous about their work, and very accommodating and sweet. It took three days to do the work. The first day they removed all the old hardwood floors, and the last two days Francisco and Kevin installed the new hardwood floors. They really did an amazing job (I will post pictures soon) and we will definitely come back to Empire! read more

He dirty my walls, did not want to take his shoes off when coming in to my house. I live in a condo and need our HOA's approval to get laminate flooring installed, for which our HOA requests for Empire's insurance certificate with our HOA added as additional insured. I requested for it for almost 3 months, and no one from Empire follow it up through, yet almost everyday they call me to confirm the installation schedule. Empire the king of empty promises. Buyer go anywhere for your flooring needs but NOT Empire!!!!! I had new flooring installed in April. The installers shot a nail through a water pipe in the wall. My wife and I went on a 2 month vacation and returned to a flooded house. On July 31 Empire installers removed the wet flooring discovered the nail hole from the base boards and advised me they would take care of the damage. The advised me there were no empire employees that did plumbing or water damage repair so I should use anyone I prefer and send the bill to them for reimbursement. I secured plumbers, mold remediation people, a paint and drywall vendor and completed the repairs. The Empire installers returned and reinstalled the wet flooring after repeated requests by me to install new flooring. I gave Empire daily updates with photos, invoices and details about the repairs. Nobody took ownership of my issue. I repeatedly called and each time was referred to someone new who knew nothing about my claim. I talked to several Empire people all who promised they would take care of the claim but I never heard from them again. This drug on for months. On August 26 I emailed the CEO and his assistant gave me a call. She had limited knowledge of the claim but expressed that the claim exceeded $5000 so they had to refer it to an insurance company. At this time there has been adequate time for reporting but I have not been contacted by anyone from an insurance company. Now the credit card bills have arrived for payment and have 29% interest growing daily. Nobody at Empire seems to care about resolving this simple claim. Just pay me for the damage you caused and we can move on. Now I am going to seek litigation and the cost will increase dramatically. I have spent months listening to empty promises and observed zero action to resolve this issue. I will tell everyone I encounter about the very poor service by Empire. Quick to sign you up, was a previous car salesman and he acted like one !!!! We told him we're going on vacation and won't be available for 3 mos. He signed us up anyway. Salesman quoted 7 business days to call and cancel the contract. We called on the 4th business day and the corporate office guy said no you can't cancel contract, we disputed him. Then he says no you can't get your $1k deposit refunded. We said YES WE CAN !! Then he tries to lower price for laminate $12,500 down by $300 off to keep the contract. Our house is 1,100 sq feet. We said no refund us and cancel contract. We waited 2 weeks and 10 business days and NO REFUND !! We had to call again to request refund NOW ! Very unprofessional. The worst experience ever. I had $9000 worth of hardwood flooring installed earlier this year. I noticed after a few months the entire floor creaked and and the area in front of the bathroom hallway was spongey and buckling. I called and they said they would send someone out. They inspected the flooring and said hallway would be placed and would tell management about creaking. Next day Empire called and said they would do nothing as it was to Industry standards. I complained and they sent contractor out and were supposed to replace sections that were approved. Contractors came didn't use the new materials and said that's the best they could do. I complained but fell on deaf ears. I was continuously lied to and they basically said too bad. The work was done to "Industry Standards " No regard to customer satisfaction. At this point, I assume the company has zero interest in resolving any issues that arise from installer neglect and will be filing with the BBB and speaking with an attorney regarding the issue on a civil matter. *UPDATE 2** **UPDATE** On 2/1/23 I received a call from Frank, the customer service manager for Los Angeles, relating he was reaching out about my reviews and damage to the baseboards and wanted to setup a service to come out and try to fix the issue. On 2/2/23 I called back and left my name, phone, and email and heard nothing back. On 2/9/23 I called Frank again leaving my name, phone, and email and heard nothing back. On 2/14/23 I sent an email inquiry to Empire's customer service through their website requesting I be contacted by whoever is higher up than Frank, the customer service manager for Los Angeles area, and have heard nothing back. I have attached multiple photos showing the damages caused across essentially every room we had carpet replaced. Some scratches are a few inches while others are 4+ feet in length. Easily over $1000 to have to replace our baseboards I'm sure. **UPDATE** Purchasing and scheduling installation was very easy. Quality of product was good. Installation was said to take a day. Installers showed up late morning and day 1 went decently. They moved furniture and got 2 rooms done with very minimal damage to anything, but couldn't finish. Day 2: Installers said they'd be here at 930ish and arrived after 11am. I firmly believe in order to make sure they finished and didn't need to return they were in a hurry and even brought a 3rd. After completion, it was noticed they say 1 areas had almost do damage, however the day 2 areas had box cutter gashes everywhere. Every baseboard on every wall, cuts multiple feet in length. A few baseboards are now pulling away from the wall and some dents/damage to the wall and furniture were observed. We needed new carpet in one room of our house. We contacted Empire today because of an advertised sale. Of course, the salesman shows up to give his pitch (which I was not expecting.. had to take much more time out of my workday than expected to listen to all their talking points) and the only carpet options on the sale were the highest priced options, which were not the ones we wanted. We were looking to save money, not select their top tier options in order to get a reduced price that was still way out of our budget. Went through the sales pitch, selected a carpet and scheduled install. Installation went well, no complaints with the sub who did the work. Three days after install, we already had 2 snags in the carpet. I contacted customer support and here is why they get 2 stars. The lady was SO RUDE and seemed to want to argue with me that we didn't purchase some sort of insurance coverage. So I finally just said, it sounds like you guys won't do anything because I didn't purchase an insurance coverage. That's all I needed to know. Said thank you, and hung up. Since then, carpet has been snagging NON STOP! I would not call Empire again. The carpet shouldn't be snagging like this, with or without an additional purchase of coverage. read more

The sales person Simon convinced us that the low pile carpet would be great for pets and that it would wear well. He said that the install would be "better than Home Depot," whose subs installed our prior carpet, which was great. The carpet was installed poorly, and lifted up along the wall and on the stairs. It wore terribly...our dogs' nails got caught in the low pile and the yarns were pulled up. My usual carpet cleaner, who has cleaned my prior carpet, said this wore and dirtied faster and worse than most carpet he has seen. In addition, the sales agent "sold" me on the no cost financing and it turned out to be a credit card! Very misleading. A couple of years out, I contacted Empire to tell them of these issues, and they said someone would be in contact with us. No one ever did. This is what my floor from Empire today flooring looks like after a year of normal use. They told me that this floor would be fine with my wheelchair and that they knew someone that weighed over 400 pounds in a wheelchair that had the same flooring and had no problems with it. I only weigh about 220 pounds, so I figured I would be fine. Much to the contrary. It started cracking and lifting almost immediately after installation. They did come back and replace the entire floor once with one, they said would be more durable and fix a couple parts of that floor that started cracking and coming up twice but they actually put different floor down when they fixed it so I have two different types of flooring in one room and it just fell apart again within six month's anyway... I tried to contact them again, they asked me to email them pictures, but ghosted me after I sent them. This happened two times with two different managers or whatever they were. I sent them these pictures and never heard from them again. This is absolutely outrageous, business practice. My 83-year-old father has fallen and hit his head and had to be taken to the emergency, because of my floor lifting! My girlfriend trips and cuts her feet on my floor regularly when getting up at night. I've literally popped my wheelchair tires on the pieces that come out of the floor every day. This is supposed to be a brand new floor! not a DEATH TRAP!!! For crying out loud I have to vacuum up all the pieces of the floor that fell off multiple times per day! Empire! you need to get down here and take care of this now! I really don't know how you guys are still in business. Your business is literally a scam! I'm lucky I only lost $6k l've seen many other horrible stories of people that spent many times that and ended up with the same results I did. Had new flooring throughout the house, we decided to go with glue down, bad decision!!! We have had glue everywhere that has come up through the seams and lifting areas. The glue is the worst it attracts the dirt quickly, you clean but the glue attracts dirt again so it always looks dirty. We have had the installation crew out twice and they insisted water removes it but it removes the dirt not the glue, frustrating to say the least! Can't understand why it is my responsibility to remove all the glue. It starts to make areas look dim and dirty certainly not what I was looking for or paid for. They are here today so we will see what happens after today, is the glue coming back up are we going to find more lifted areas, each day it is something! read more

Your response to my problems with Empire was useless. Mr. Salas, I read the final email you sent. It's seems the "Install Manager" felt the buckling of carpet, which was sent to you in detail, in many pictures you requested, on two separate floors, over 1500 square feet of carpet, was "due to a table." That is actually the leg of a 200 pound desk that is never moved, which he would have realized if he actually looked at the photos. How that would be responsible for the entire carpet buckling on two separate floors is proof that this was never taken seriously. So it's of no importance to you or your company, that it's a safety hazard now. As for the stains, I brought this up because this was supposed to be a "top of the Iine" carpet. A product that would "resist" wearing out and a good quality that would clean with professional services. Neither was true. The product was inferior! Because the installation was in 2021, and was extremely expensive, you can wash your hands of any responsibly and continue to lie to the public about "your mission" to do the best for your clients. We purchased laminate flooring from Empire less than 4 years ago. Over that period we called several times because we noticed that sections of the flooring was beginning to rise up in some corners and sections. We contacted Empire, they came out and told us it was our fault because the foundation got wet underneath and it was out of warranty. We called 2 other times and were told the same thing. We contacted another contractor who removed sections of the floor and told us that there was no plastic barrier or selent put down before the laminate was placed. This was not done correctly and therefore, there was water damage due to Empire's negligence. It was a large undertaking and an expensive project to be done incorrectly. read more

However, the only two factors that made me move forward were my bad experience with Home Depot, who was initially slated to complete the job, and my previous experience with Empire Today completing a carpet install on a home prior. Salesperson Martin Gonzalez was super gracious and helpful. I shared my horror story dealing with the Home Depot installers. Upon learning about my experience, he called his manager to see about a price match. Sadly, they couldn't give me a straight price match due to the products not being of the same quality, but they came very close! I signed the contract, which didn't reflect the pricing we agreed upon because there was a Price Change Order Form to be approved by a manager. I did receive the revised contract the very next day. Next came the scheduling of the installation. Martin offered a next-day installation. Again, I was skeptical since we had finished the contract signing shortly after 5 pm. Sure enough, I took the next day's installation date. The next day I received a call from the installer, who recommended changing the installation due to the bad weather. I agreed only because it was raining heavily and we were expecting hail. So I decided to change the date to the next day. Sure enough, the installer came as promised and installed the floor in about 6 hours. Shortly before he left, he cleaned the area, and we completed a walk-thru. This was the time to ensure the job was to my satisfaction, and it was! I checked off all the boxes on the form, and he was on his way. The only mishap was the transition molding. Unfortunately, they provided him with the wrong one. Luckily, I had one from a previous job completed downstairs, and it worked out! Would I recommend them? These guys are fast. I appreciated that about them. They had an estimate and people out in about a week (my timeline, I think they could have done it sooner) turn around. The price was on the high side, but the sales rep was polite and knowledgable, and even no-nonsense, which I appreciated. Very straight forward. He even came to my work to get the deposit. The workers that did the work were in and out in a about three hours, so the disruption was minimal. They were polite as well and did a great job. the sales Rep's name was Jakob Zakhary. Good guy. The advertisement that you see is a come on, but really the "half off" thing should be a red flag anyway, and you should just figure that out anyway. Caveat Emptor. Nothing is free. I was so embarrassed by the state of the place and had a full blown anxiety attack when the Empire Consultant arrived. His name was Abdallah Rasheed and he was so incredibly kind and respectful. He could see that having someone in the space caused me shame and told me that after he took quick measurements, we could finish our meetings outside if I would be more comfortable. He even showed me pictures of his own cats and said he understood my situation. He then made recommendations that would be easier to clean and within my price range. We had everything scheduled within a week. They were in and out in under six hours and took the old carpet carpet with them. We couldn't be happier with our new flooring. R Stallworth did a fine job reviewing and explaining he process. Got us signed up the same day he came out for 2 rooms. The first crew that showed up did a wonderful job with 1st room AND cleaned up AS PROMISED. As they prepared the 2nd room, they found asbestos under the carpet and of course the project was placed on hold. After asbestos removal, second crew that came in and completed the 2nd room did okay installing the room. My issues: 1. WAS HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED to find the floors were FILTHY, DIRTY and OBVIOUSLY NOT CLEANED AS PROMISED IN THE CONTRACT. 2. EMPIRE workers LEFT behind debris on our front porch. HOW LOVELY. 3. NO ONE has responded to my complaints regarding EMPIRE FAILING to complete their side of the contract (proper clean-up and disposal).
