With busy schedules, I found a day that worked for everyone and booked my appointment. I arrived about an hour early so I could enjoy the hot tub before my massage. I was also planning to take advantage of the spa amenities afterward and grab lunch at one of the restaurants. About 10 minutes before my appointment, I put on my robe and headed to the waiting area. As my appointment time came and went, I watched every other guest get called back for their massages while I continued to wait. After another 10 minutes had passed, I finally went to the front desk to ask what was going on. The manager came out and informed me that there had been a miscommunication and my massage therapist was unable to make it to work that day. Unfortunately, there were no other therapists available and no alternative appointment times. I was simply told they were sorry and that I would need to reschedule. At that point, I broke down in tears. This wasn't just a massage, it was my birthday gift and my first opportunity to step away from the chaos and demands of postpartum life. Having that experience taken away without any notice was incredibly disappointing. To their credit, they did offer me a complimentary massage whenever I am able to rebook, which I appreciated and accepted. However, this was a very disappointing first impression. A simple phone call before I arrived could have saved me the time, effort, childcare arrangements, and emotional letdown.

I have been to this salon from the first day they have been opened and that has been 10 years. Whew! time surely flies by. The service here is just unexplainable. It's a family owned business and they treat every customers that walk in just like family. The atmosphere and the friendliness is just so warm. I recently moved across town and I still make the effort to come back to get my regular nine yards service. It's really hard to go to another salon and expect the same service. I rather not waste time and just come back to Encino Nails. Their prices is very competitive and they provide nail care, manicures, pedicures, and waxing. Most importantly, I noticed that they always sanitize all their tools and they sanitize their spa chairs after each use. Overall, if you haven't given them a visit, you definitely should because it'll be worth your time and you'll be hook after your first visit. read more

I've been to so many different salons in Houston, Austin, Del Rio and San Antonio and I swear this is the best place to go! I've never been disappointed and Mindy seriously does the best manicures. I've had shellac manis done at other salons and the majority of the time I have come out disappointed and they do not last the full 2 weeks, but not when i come here. I've had shellac manicures last 2-3 weeks with Mindy. I love Mindy because she's a perfectionist and she's super talented at what she does. It's worth driving 2.5 hours to San Antonio to just have my mani done by her! Mindy is also the only person I trust with my eyebrows! The massage chairs for the pedis are also super comfortable. I started getting my eyelash extensions done here with Mindy, and let me just say they turned out beautiful and last so long! Mindy is the sweetest most amazing lash tech i've ever had. In addition this nail salon is taking all the right precautions regarding safety during this pandemic. When you walk in, you must be wearing a mask, your temperature is taken, you sign an agreement form, AND you must wash your hands before any service. I made an appointment for a pedicure and showed up on time and got seated pretty quickly. The girl…read morewho did my pedicure, Courtney, was not very friendly and didn't seem to know what she was doing. She would say she messed up and acted nervous about what she was doing. When I asked her how long she had been licensed, she said she had not gotten her license yet. So I asked her how she got hired if she wasn't licensed, and she said her boyfriend was the manager (Ryan) so he hired her anyway. Anyway, she would barely talk and when she did, it was one word answers or minimal effort. Seemed annoyed that I was trying to have a conversation with her so I quit talking. Because of the poor job she did, she's not licensed, and wasn't friendly, I won't be going back .

I have gotten classic hybrid and volume from her. I get them super short and full so they look as natural as possible yet still give a pop to the eye. She is really knowledgeable, various styles and any picture you show.

The massage itself felt nice though. Smelled great too. My polish looked like it was done at home, but I can do them much nicer. The polish was all over my skin and cuticles. I came home and cleaned it up. My nails were not trimmed evenly either. One toe was trimmed with rounded edges while the rest were straight. Super disappointed in the quality. I was waiting for the polish to dry, but they had put on my sandals and was told to pay at the front. Because it didn't dry all the way, my pinky toe got scraped off. I won't be back and I don't recommend. I was really looking forward to support local businesses, but this place wasn't meant for me. They may be better at manicures, I'm not sure, but definitely will go elsewhere for a pedicure. Also, not all staffs were wearing masks and not all customers were too. I guess mask isn't mandatory here.
