We were referred to this company by multiple HVAC contractors because they supposedly offered blower door testing. We paid for a Manual J calculation and a Blower Door test to determine the correct heat pump size for our home. Two technicians came on December 16, 2024, and the inspection lasted about 30 minutes. During the visit, they were courteous and professional and promised to provide: * A list of heat pump vendors * The proper heat pump size * Recommended installers On January 4, 2025, they sent us a BayREN Home Energy Audit report, but it wasn't even for our house. The report falsely stated that we had solar panels, which we do not. We immediately reached out to correct the discrepancies and request the Manual J calculation and heat pump recommendations we paid for. Since then, they have given us nothing but the runaround. It is now March 28, 2025, and we still have not received the services we paid for. Despite multiple follow-up emails (at least six or seven over the past few months), they continue to delay and have not provided our Manual J calculation, heat pump size, or vendor recommendations. I'm giving two stars because the technicians who came out were friendly and professional. However, the company's follow-through has been terrible. I agree with the other reviewer who warned not to pay them upfront--as soon as they cashed our check, they disappeared. Avoid this company unless you want to waste your time and money. read more

My, oh, my, where do I begin? From the moment I first called this company to the energy audit itself and the report, I have felt extremely well taken care of and in great, knowledgeable hands. I was listened to carefully on the phone while scheduling the home visit and the company went out of their way to confirm the appointment. Mickey came out and took her time to give a thorough evaluation of our home. She is incredibly well informed about our particular issue as well (excess humidity) and was very respectful when looking around our home. After our appointment, Mickey sent me an extremely thorough report and evaluation of our situation that I was able to send and hopefully use to remedy our issue in our home. Highly recommend getting a home energy assessment from Energineers. It's an amazing value especially with the rebates available. After carrying out some of the upgrades, the comfort of our home has been much improved. I have to call out that Mickey went above and beyond to guide us through the process to complete the upgrades. I had a very neutral experience with this company. The folks I dealt with were perfectly nice, professional, and knowledgeable. The downfall is communication. I had scheduled a home energy inspection on September 23 and the process took an hour, or so. The inspector told me that I would get a report on September 26. After a few followups, I received the report on October 12, which is 16 days later than expected. The report was also incomplete, as it did not include an analysis on my cooling system. Part of their service is to recommend contractors for the repair items. I asked for recommendations on October 12 and haven't heard back over 20 days later. It is tough to proceed without their advice. I feel as though I received some useful information from the report, but overall the service did not meet my expectation. If you are in a rush to complete some repairs, please consider my experience. read more

Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience. After finding Energineers on BayREN, I contacted them to do a Home Energy Score for my house. The two people who came out were friendly and professional and seemed to offer some good advice. They said they would follow up in 10 days with a written report outlining what they found, including the Home Energy Score. I paid them $100 in person via check for the service and the report. More than three months later, I have yet to receive the report. And they've completely ghosted my repeated emails requesting the report and a refund. If you decide to go with a Home Energy Score or assessment Energineers, pay them AFTER they deliver the report. DO NOT PAY in person while they're at your house - they won't send the report and then won't return your calls or emails. read more

Over the years I have worked with many great professionals in various fields, and Mickey is definitely one of the best. I am glad that I had Mickey to conduct HERS testing for my new HVAC project. Mickey is so knowledgeable about HVAC. She explained to me the whole testing process and the details of each step. When the HERS testing actually passed, she also explained to me why it passed while she still doesn't think that the contractor did a great job. She also cares about the project more than my contractor. While it is not in the scope of the HERS test, she spent a along time in the crawl space to take pictures for the places that the contractor failed to insulate properly, and spent the extra time showing me how they should be done correctly. She is so professional and really likes what she is doing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone. read more

Mickey was extremely helpful and clearly very knowledgeable. She came to our house with an assistant. She took time to talk me through the assessment process, but also really explain energy usage and how to think about making smart choices. She performed an in-depth assessment and provided a report in a matter of days. She talked me through the elements of the report and provided names of potential approved vendors to undertake some of the energy saving measures. Mickey responded to my Yelp request quickly, and I was able to schedule her inspection for the same week. Jenn did a great job coordinating the job and payment, as well as sending over an electronic calendar invite. Mickey came on time as was super warm and friendly. She is an absolute pro, and an expert in her field. She unobtrusively went through my home in the 3.5 hour inspection and cleaned up after herself. I can't recommend Mickey and her team enough. They were highly professional and did a thorough job on the pre and post testing for our energy upgrade project. But more than that, Mickey really came through for us. When the contractor that did the install and was supposed to file for the rebate went out of business before they completed the paperwork, Mickey stepped in and helped us get what we needed to get the rebate. We had Mickey and team in our 2 story house for a complete checkup. The team did a great job of setting up and sealing doors so they could pressure test all vents in the house. Very professional and thorough. Their many page report gave us a lot of areas to consider for improvement. They even found a slight leak in our gas line going into the furnace. I recently completed a project through Energy Upgrade California and my contractor, Sandium, connected me with Mickey and Energineers to perform the necessary Test-In/Test-Out and HERS testing. I can't speak more highly of Mickey and my experience. Mickey is very knowledgeable, personable and professional. During her initial visit, Mickey informed me of her alarming test results that I had 1300 ppm of carbon monoxide coming off my furnace. I appreciated her concern and her ability to explain the issues surrounding the reading. Her main concern was home safety, which was very reassuring. Mickey and team were awesome. Our solar installer recommended energy testing in the old house we recently bought, and we are so glad we did it, as it turned out our house was super leaky. As a result of working with Mickey, we learned how to air seal through simple measures we could take ourselves, we got our asbestos-wrapped HVAC ducts abated and replaced (really necessary), and insulated the walls (optional, but made a huge difference keeping in heat over the winter). We just got back a check for over $4K, so the rebate part of the process actually worked! Mickey was thorough, responsive, and incredibly professional in phone conversations and email, and Kim, who did our testing and re-testing, was also very professional as well as warm and friendly. Even if you can't embark on any big fixes right now, the reasonable fee is worth it to understand much more about what's going on in your home, to learn what you can do DIY, and to plan more efficiently for future upgrades.
