While multiple emails were exchanged from what seemed to be the corporate end, there was no actual human interaction, and my request for the estimator to call back failed. Because of that lack of follow-through, I ultimately decided to go with another vendor who was more responsive. AttiCare made a good first impression, but communication after the initial visit failed. I wouldn't proceed without speaking to the estimator. They lost a job due to that.

They also paint if owner provides the paint. The other two contractors said they had to drill holes from inside the house (oh no, we had just patched out walls after the electrical work). So far looks like house is staying cooler in warm afternoons. We shall see this winter!

I had my external walls insulated and they used cellulose to fill making 1.5 inch holes between the studs. Then they use a cork foam type backing to put in the holes as a vapor barrier and close it with stucco patch. Then comes the texture followed by primer. And if you provide them your matching paint they will color the patches too. They are nice and simple folks and easy to work with. Thanks I wonder why I waited so long to insulate the walls as the difference is noticeable and will save energy. They also help with rebates offered by state or federal.

Chris's Insulation came up, he had great ratings, he was super close by, so after calling a different service and going to voicemail, I called Chris. Chris picked up after the second ring. When I told him that I needed someone to clean our dryer vent and what had happened, he said he could come out either between 5:00 and 6:00 pm that evening or the next day. It was already mid-afternoon when I called, so I was surprised to hear him say he could still come out same-day, but I decided to have him do that since I was free and also still a little shaky following what happened with the vent either smoking or steaming. Chris showed up during the window he quoted and wasted no time getting to work. He started the second he arrived and was done within the hour. Our Carbon Monoxide detectors starting going off, which really indicated a serious problem. Ed came out and explained the issues with our furnace in detail and gave us options of repair vs replacement and the various replacement options. We elected to go with a hybrid Gas/Electric/Heat Pump system. The quote was fair, I mean this stuff is expensive, but we knew the ball park costs going in and the quote was reasonable. Ed helped us figure out how to make sure we had the right hook-ups, venting location and place in the house for a new air intake port that could work in our 80 year-old house with the least intrusive modifications. Luis and Devon came out to do the work. It was a 2 day process and they were friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant to be around. If someone is going to be in your house for 2 days it is always great to have them be nice people, which they were. Cody, the owner, came by each day to check in and answer our questions and make sure we understood how the system worked. When the work was finished, everything was cleaned up and tidy.
