I had an extremely negative experience with Engravers of Reno due to unprofessional and hostile customer service. I initially called to ask about engraving metal business cards. After confirming that I already had the cards, I was told to come by for assistance and a quote. I drove about 15 minutes across town expecting a basic consultation. The same woman who answered the phone was at the front desk. From the beginning, her tone was sarcastic and condescending. When I showed her a sample of my design and mentioned it was made in Canva, she immediately dismissed it as "sh*t software" and made a point of saying they "use REAL software." When she learned the file wasn't vectorized, she told me I was wasting her time... despite never mentioning this requirement during the phone call. Had I been told upfront that a vector file was required, I would have come prepared. Instead, I was spoken to rudely and made to feel unwelcome. When I asked for a rough quote anyway, I was quoted $2,500 to engrave 100 business cards!!! (with me providing the materials). At that point it was clear the price was either punitive or they simply didn't want the job, so I left. This is the first 1-star review I've ever felt compelled to write on Yelp. While other reviews suggest they may do decent work, the customer service alone is reason enough to look elsewhere. At a minimum, get quotes from other engravers in town before wasting your time and gas. $2,500 for 100 business cards, materials provided, paired with outright disrespect? Hard pass. read more

Great place to get a a plaque made and they are pretty fast. We ordered 2 plaques on Tuesday and they said they will have it ready at the end of the week. We have gotten a few plaques here a number of other times and it was a great experience. It was done in a timely manner and the price was fair for the quality. The plaque came out very well and I was tempted to get my own plaque here hehe. But anyways I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get a plaque. They also do dog tags, plaques, acrylic & glass awards, desk & office signage, name badges, coins, decorative utensils, zippo lighters, decorative flag displaces, trophies and more. They have a great selection of items to choose from and engrave. Also they add a 10% military discount as well. Who doesn't love that? Also I am all about supporting local business. Unclear on terms. Deflective. Delayed project significantly, kept kicking it down the road. Quoted a general price then doubled it. Charged for a "trial" when what I wanted is for them to just dial their laser in to the sample material I gave them, not a separate run. Were rude on checkout. Saying "we don't work for free, do you??!!" Engraved one piece and misspelled a name... Generally bad service. On leaving said to me, "This is a bad relationship". I agree. read more

I was skeptical at first since I was told they couldn't do a gold engrave as I requested. I could tell the first lady who helped me was a little impatient. Then along came another lady who explained to me the things they could engrave in a box that I had taken in. She was very patient and so I decided to give it a go. After a really important job fell through with Custom Ink, Francis at Engravers of Reno came through and finished a big project for us on a super tight turn around. Part of the project didn't turn out quite as expected- which was not their fault (it was because we provided a low quality material) but even so, they gave us a huge discount to make up for it. I had a quote engraved on a sword for my son. I had talked to other engraving places that were not able to do that because of their machines. The employees at the shop had the best customer service I have encountered in a long time. They did a beautiful job with the engraving. I couldn't have been more happy with the result or the service. This is absolutely the worst business in Reno. Period. I have had the unfortunate experience to work with approximately five different businesses that all used this vendor for engraving and every single time we have experienced awful customer service and pride from the owner Herself. You would think that they would care about their customers because they would lose customers but I guess that's not the case. It is very obviously projected that they couldn't give a damn about anyone but themselves. Every single time we've gotten anything something has been messed up and they refused to fix it. My first experience was good, the quality of the work was excellent, I felt that the price was fair. I returned for a much smaller work, the quality was also perfect, but while I was quoted a price of less than 8$ for the engraving plus that of the small stainless steel dog tag I selected, I was charged over 14$ at pick up... I felt that I was taken advantage of by the counter lady. To avoid my unpleasant experience I recommend to get a written estimate at this store. read more
