I grew up in the car business. My father owned 2 dealerships and my grandfather was an executive with General Motors. That being said I knew first hand how selling cars should be done in a professional and ethical manner. However many of my car buying experiences have been terrible. The car dealer does everything they can to fool you into paying too much for the car with hidden dealer added accessories and giving you less on your trade in car then it is truly worth. Buying a car can be like having a root canal at your dentist, a big pain!! This week my wife and I purchased a Ford Fusion from Eric Rivera at the Enterprise sales lot in Orange CA. Eric is a professional and dealing with him on our purchase was a great experience. Why do I say that? First he went out of his way to locate our car at another Enterprise sales lot and drive the car to the Orange sales lot. When my wife and I arrived to see the car and have our trade in car appraised, Eric did everything required to make a positive experience for us. We test drove the car while Eric and the sales manager Mike checked out our trade in car. The offer presented on our trade in was the current Kelly Blue Book price for the car. The price Enterprise was asking for the Fusion was the current Kelly Blue Book price for the car. Both the Ford Fusion and our trade in were based on fair market value. Not some made up pricing based on an unethical dealership's view of pricing. My car search was long and terrible until I walked into Enterprise Car Sales on 1925 N. Tustin St. early this week. I did not have an appointment and was just there to gain some information. Up until this point I have dealt with people who would not give me the time of day, almost as if I was a burden for coming into their place of establishment, for wanting to look at cars. As a first time buyer this can be very discouraging. I have come across people who have thought I know nothing about cars, and were trying to take advantage of me as a buyer, and I think it has allot to do with being a female. That all ended the day when I came to Enterprise. I was greeted by Mike and he asked about everything I was looking for, what I needed out of a car, and was so nice. I test drove the car I wanted to look at that day, and really fell in love with a car. This was the first time I really felt comfortable in a car. With the no haggle pricing, there was no pressure. I left that day really interested in the car, but was unsure of what I wanted to do, so I told him I would be in contact with him the next day after I talked to my boyfriend. Mike kept in contact with me with any questions or concerns I had. Making me feel really comfortable, this was a huge step for me, because I am a first time buyer. I ended up wanting the car, the next step was getting new insurance. The sales team is extremely aggressive in trying to sale , while simultaneously talking down on other competitors. The sales representative did not allow me to ask questions over the phone as she kept responding with "I will go over that in person". I canceled my appointment as I had received better phone service through other agencies. The sales team continued to harass me even after I informed them that I was going with another agency. Sales representatives as well as managers continued to hound me to the point where I had to block the number. The sales team needs to find a better sales tactic, and they should start by hearing the customer's needs,making them comfortable to ask questions and allowing the customer to feel confident in the transaction. read more
