Normally, I always go with Enterprise Rent A Car, but with my trip out of Ontario airport, it was not a good experience. When we arrived in Ontario, the online check in was great. We were able to skip the line and get right into our vehicle which was a Waggoner. However, within 2 miles of driving the Waggoner off the lot, we began to experience problems. As we drove down the highway and made full stops at red lights, the car would idle and completely turn off. It was very scary and we were almost rear ended twice. We knew that we could not drive up the mountain to Big Bear in this vehicle, so we decided to pull over into a parking lot and call Enterprise. This was when customer service became very poor. To explain, I called their hotline, and the woman who answered said she would have the Ontario Enterprise call us from their store right away. This NEVER happened. Since we did not feel safe driving the vehicle, I called another number provided on the Enterprise website that was supposedly linked directly to the Enterprise Ontario website. Once I connected with someone the woman on the line directed a tow truck to come jump the car. I informed her that what we really needed was the tow truck to tow the vehicle back to Ontario Airport and that we would need another vehicle. This person on the phone was not understanding this. She kept saying that the jump was on the way. I asked her how were we supposed to get back to Ontario airport and she could not explain. After being put on hold, I decided that we would drive the car back ourselves and risk being rear ended and potentially getting in an accident. The woman on the phone said okay. As we drove back, luckily we made it back to Enterprise unscathed, however, the car did shut off again 2 more times, and I put on the hazard lights for other cars to avoid us. Once we got back to Ontario, the Ontario staff was very helpful. When I asked them about the customer service hotline, they said that they do not even have a phone that is linked to their site. Furthermore, we were charged for a tow truck service, but I explained to the on site staff that we refused this service. Luckily, this was taken off our bill. This whole ordeal costs us an additional 2 hours of time when we were trying to get up the mountain to Big Bear. It was extremely frustrating. As you travel, no one wants to be stuck on the side of the road, and Enterprise is not helpful with their communication system. Our reservation was 71822394. Car rental experience is either suicidal or breezy, but what happens when you get caught in the middle? I have flown in and out of Ontario International Airport in California all of my life and have seen the experience go from why do I have to use this airport to wow and they continue to get better. For me, car rental is just what it is. Except this time something dramatically changed. Apparently , a staff meeting with a small agenda lead to a discussion to change the process of getting a rental so that it would lead to frustration leading to anger or murder.! Let me explain, once leaving the checkout counter you exit the building, find your car, do the inspection and get confirmed as you exit the lot by the attendant at the gate. Somehow, someway, Enterprise Rental has decided to add a new process where you give a card to the lot attendant while you stand in the blistering sun. The lot attendant then assembles a group of renters and you're taken on a grand tour of all the cars you can drive. The group of renters I was with all had the look on their faces of : do we just stampede and rush to a car, or is this tour necessary? Also, there is the awkward moment of what if two renters want the same car? This is easy for me since I can out run most people, but seems a bit excessive just to rent a car and we really are not in this all together. We were leaning towards the first. I cannot express enough how much that process adds to the frustration of the renter and the possibility of throwing of eggs. The previous process was perfect and allowed travelers to get to a car and continue on with their business. Returning the car was easy breezy and perfect. Lesson: Enterprise, make you checking out a car as easy as it is to check in the car and I will return. Standing in a second line after standing in the line at the checkout desk is torture and truly takes away from the experience .!I'm now thinking about traveling with eggs so that I can leave immediate feedback - it's that annoying. I've always had great experiences with Enterprise. I frequently rent from Enterprise because they let me drive to Canada. Last year, they even billed me for tolls that I collected in Canada. A minivan shortage hit all local stores because of the Plymouth recall, forcing me to go to the airport location because they were the only ones left with minvans. They had one reserved for me for my roadtrip. They have a large selection of vehicles here. Most of the vehicles here had very few miles on it. I wish that my local Enterprise had a fraction of the cars that they had. So what's the problem? When the rental agent asked me where I was going, I was told that they could not rent to me because I was going out of the country. I know that the USA/Mexico border is a few hours away, but, you can't assume every border crossing is not allowed. I had to explain their contract to them, and show them their FAQ's about driving into Canada. I got my car. I didn't violate my contract. They gave me very good cars the two times I visited. I'll be back when the local offices doesn't have a car for me, or if I want a newer car for a roadtrip. No, I won't cross the southern border. read more

I've been renting from Enterprise for awhile and from many locations. This is one of the best with quick turnaround (unless they are at peak times like business travel Monday Friday etc). So fast and easy!!! Upon exiting Ontario airport it is very easy to follow the signs across the street to the shuttle stop. Hop on and it takes you to the rental car terminal where all vendors are at. I did not have to wait in any line, go straight out the back door to pick up your car. If I could give negative stars I would but I can't. For starters the staff was not friendly when it came to looking up a reservation made though third party Priceline, no assistance provided. Then where it gets really terrible is the checkout process with a specific lady named Pat (older Caucasian female). I get it you have a job to do with verifying correct name and credit card as the person leaving the lot. Pat was out of line when I had both identifying documents and stated "you live in a different address from your wife?". Unprofessional and way out of line, definitely not her place. Pat then stated " I need to see a second form of identification such as a bank statement". Who the heck are you Pat to question if me and my wife have different addresses or demand a bank statement just to rent a car. Yay Enterprise!! This company in general has always treated me with dignity and respect. This is the first time I used this location. I am moving and it was a great time for my car to say 'bye bye bye.' So it was Memorial Day holiday and I needed a car to begin my move-in paperwork. I rented a car from here and it was so quick and easy! The gentleman that helped me pick the car up was very nice and helpful. Sorry, I didn't get his name. My drop off was just as convenient and easy as I needed it to be. Moving is a pain on a good day. When I pulled in Tori was there to help me out. She was cheerful, polite and very efficient!! Yay! We had the most excellent experience here from the Manager who sorted out a very tricky situation for us caused by another branch of Enterprise in Eastvale. He went to some lengths to sort us out with the Jeep we needed (and had booked, but found unavailable in Eastvale) for our roadtrip which was to include offroading. I have rented from enterprise over 20 times in the last 10 months. Tonight it was a nightmare. No one inside so everyone was at the outside kiosk whether they needed a reservation or pre-booked and paid. Everyone waited. Agents were rude and even if you rent every week they have no clue who you are as there is always someone new on site. 10/31/25 was a joke renting from Enterprise. My husband and I have been renting with Enterprise for years & sadly today they lost loyal customers due to their customer service here at the Ontario Airport. We've rented with Enterprise 7 times in the last two months, and this by far was the worst location! Please train your employees to show grace and have better customer service. For the week of SEPT 2nd, I had to rent out of the ONT airport. Their system at ONT was very efficient. All employees were very helpful and quick with getting these vehicles out to the customers who just got off a flight. I got to upgrade to an Audi Quattro SUV and was pleasantly surprised. Vehicle was clean and what a comfortable ride. Return was very easy. Pull into their lot, grab your luggage and off you go. I think a Manger or Supervisor processed my rental.... Super helpful, nice, quick and professional. I would definitely rent from this location if I return for business. read more

We were told that we could come at midnight, when our southwest flight was landing at 1145pm, that someone would wait at least one hour after they close which is at midnight..I get there around midnight and no one is there, miscommunication and unprofessional. Idk why this place have so many negative reviews- let me tell my story. We had such a positive experience with Ivan. Please note: he should be recognized for this review. We are on a work trip and arrived to pick up our car. Because of our limitations, the full size vehicles were all gone. He gave us the options of an upgrade (1st positive) and we chose the Camry. We walk to the car then he helps us two ladies put our luggage in the trunk (2nd positive). We do walk around the car and even checked the tires (3rd positive). We even noted that we've never seen that before. As he continues processing our reservation, my boss tells him that for whatever reason her points have not been accumulating. He walks her through the process to update her account and we were on merry way. He was so kind and nice and provided good professional customer service. As much as we travel, you don't get good service anymore. Idk but he was great. Kudos to him! SN: everyone who was present did not wait long to be serviced. Update: While it is fair for enterprise corporate customer service to ask for details to do something to remedy this, I think the time to resolve my concern has well passed. I will not pursue this further. This location has earned a single star, they ought to wear it. Prior review: I recently had a disappointing experience with this location. Despite prepaying for my rental using my World MasterCard, I was told at pickup that my card was unacceptable due to it being issued by a certain bank. This arbitrary policy, apparently set by the area manager, led to an embarrassing situation as other customers in line assumed my card was being rejected due to an overdraft or non payment. Despite the professionalism of the frontline employees, the local management's policy of rejecting certain banks in favor of others is unethical and possibly illegal. If the business displays a MasterCard logo, they should accept all MasterCards, regardless of the issuing bank. Their current policy not only violates the Mastercard terms of service but also undermines trust and causes unnecessary inconvenience for customers. Enterprise corporate customer service has apologized, and said they would reach out to the local management team to resolve this issue. I have no reason to believe that this occurred. Over the past six months, I have sent three to four emails to the local management seeking clarification and resolution, but I have yet to receive any reply from the area management. read more

Okay on 1/12/23 I had an accident in an Enterprise rental vehicle. I followed the exact instructions as the rep told me on the phone. Traumatized by the accident upon return at check-in explained that I was returning and picking up another vehicle. By the time I made it to the counter, he had completely closed my ticket. Being discombobulated, I ended up leaving all my personals in the vehicle thinking I would be switching from one to the other vehicle. Because ticket was closed, I was not able to obtain another vehicle and instructed to go back to the facility which I originally rented the next day. Stranded, I was then informed that they don't do passenger drop-offs any longer. (Wasn't it the employee that closed my ticket fault?) Not realizing I left everything in the car, the next morning arrived back to ask for my items and was first faced with no one trying to make eye contact with me to avoid having to help the next customer as faced with pouring rain outside while the airport staff expected everyone to stand under an awning while they sat in a warm booth, eating chips, on phones and just sitting around. There was no sense of compassion or relating that I like many others need the items. Calmly, I was explained to go to a website LostReports.com and fill out a report because the car had been taken away and not one of my items returned. There is no sense of urgency at all with this staff, instead there a feeling of bothering the staff managers and am consistently told what they can NOT do to help me. Please help me, I need my items left in the car. Also, open this booth back up for clients instead of having a gathering spot for associates in the car. Rental Agreement #8KZ2MJ. Unfortunately 1 star is more than they deserve. My personal vehicle (2023 Jeep grand Cherokee, well maintained with less than 20k miles on it) broke down on the freeway while I was on my way to an event with my severally mentally disabled child. After getting it towed to a dealership, I went online to enterprises website and reserved a vehicle, I input all the information requested, and even received an email confirming my reservation. I had a friend go out of his way to bring me to enterprise to pick up the vehicle, When I arrived and approached the counter I explained that I had reserved a car and was there to pick it up. Jarred (possibly hispanic with a nose ring) said "we don't have any cars" I said what do you mean? I already booked it. To which he replied again "we don't have any cars". I pulled up my email confirming my reservation and showed it to him and he said "that's great, but we still don't have any cars" he had a super rude tone, and provided no explanation. I was dumbfounded. Again I asked how can you confirm a reservation if you don't have any cars? He turned and gave his coworker a look that implied I was an idiot, and he said "there's no other way to explain it, we don't have any cars" I asked if he was a manager and he said no, so I asked to speak with his manager and he waved his hand in a direction and said the manager is out side. So I took my son who was already upset as he isn't capable of understanding what is happening, and headed out in the direction he had motioned toward. I found the manager. He did end up getting a car for me, and he was a lot more understanding. I do appreciate his help but I'm still beyond aggravated that they would confirm a reservation for a car they don't have, and that Jarred was so unbelievably rude. As far as I'm concerned any company who would allow an employee to treat their clients that way isn't a company I'd like to do business with. Taking care of a child with special needs is hard enough as it is, but leaving a mother and special needs child stranded 40 miles from their home is inhumane. My suggestion for you as a client, don't use enterprise. My suggestion for enterprise, get rid of Jarred he isn't worth the paper his check is printed on, and DO NOT reserve vehicles that you don't have. I can't even believe I have to say that. read more

Drove the truck was smooth but started making noise on the passenger side where the glove box was.. Made noise entire time driving on the freeway. The. The back light on the drivers side was out 6 pulled over. Very hard trip, and I would hope I'd be compensated for a car over 50k. Had rented from enterprise quite frequently. My last rental seemed to go fine, and upon return no issues. Had not needed to rent for a while. I recently tried to rent a car, but could not because they claimed there was damage on the last rental that needed to be paid. They said it was too late to dispute it. They have zero evidence any damage was done, just a bill. They never tried to contact me in the 3 years time frame to resolve this. They won't allow me to rent until this bill is paid. This company is an example of everything wrong in this world, I had a 9am pick up time on 9/13/25, I wanted to pick up the vehicle earlier so I tried calling and after 30 minutes of trying to speak to a person at the Ontario airport location I gave up, I decided to walk in where is was met by a rep named Joseph @ 7:30am, I explained that I was hoping to get the vehicle and hour and a half earlier and he wanted to charge me a full day for an hour and half, which I refused so I came back at 9am and picked up the car a Mazda CX-90, I knew I had to pay for the gps to be activated which I think is insane but as I left the location the radio and any hands free device was also disabled, we're talking about am/fm radio was disable it sure I had to pay for that but like I said this is everything wrong in the world today non of the cars basic functions were available cuz they wan to squeeze every last fuckin penny out of us, I'll never use this company agin nor will I recommend them to family or friends read more

We rented a car through Enterprise at the Hawaiian Gardens location for our trip to Vegas. We were leaving in the afternoon and got stuck in traffic when we noticed that the car was making metal on metal grinding sounds from the rear brakes. We called the office that we rented from and reached Justin who was helpful and transferred us to roadside assistance. Once on the phone with roadside they directed us to the nearest open location of Enterprise to exchange the car. They said they would put in a request with the manager and that we should be able to switch it no problem and be on our way. They were apologetic and at that time I didn't think much of it. We arrived at the Ontario airport location and pulled the car in. I went up to the office and told them that roadside had directed me to come and get a replacement for this clearly broken car. Without even looking up any request on the computer or looking at the car in question, told me that there were no cars available and they needed all of their cars for airport customers. They then told me to take the car to firestone and they would fix the car at no cost to me. This was around 5:00 pm. There were no other Enterprise locations that would be open, and firestone would be closing soon. I told her that roadside had sent me here and that we had to drive to Vegas tonight for business. We would be attending a convention in the morning. She did not care. She just repeated our so called options. When we went to drive away, the guy waiving us out of the gate heard the sound of the car (the loud grinding that was coming from the back of the car) and told us to hold on. I was again on the phone with roadside begging someone to help us not have to drive this car 300 miles with brakes that we weren't sure could even stop at highway speeds. He was nice and said he would see what he could do. That this car was clearly not okay to drive and he would try to help. The same manager came over afterward and we told her that the gentleman was trying to help us out. She repeated herself about us taking the rental car to get fixed like it's my problem. We pleaded with her to help us out, even to give us a dirty car. We did not mind, just anything that was safe. The nice guy who I regret no getting his name came over in a smaller vehicle that he said was a high mileage vehicle. He asked if we would be okay in a smaller car. Of course. Great, this was happening. Relief. I hung up with roadside. We pulled up to get switched. Now there is the original unhelpful manager and what I presume to be a shift change to another unhelpful manager. At no point were we rude or did we make a scene. We were polite and just begging for someone to help us out. We didn't argue, we didn't show our frustration. She at least pretended to look for a request from roadside. She said she had nothing and that we couldn't take that car that was sitting right there in front of us and clearly available. I started to call back, the third roadside worker just repeated the same message. They would put in a request. After an hour and forty minutes we were sent away to embark on a 300 mile drive with questionable brakes. To rent out cars that aren't checked for safety issues is unacceptable. To tell your customers to get the car fixed for you is unacceptable. To let a customer drive away in an unsafe vehicle that they are clearly concerned about is unacceptable. To have roadside send someone to a location and not follow through is insane. If I have to spend time to get a car fixed is sure won't be a rental car. When we returned the vehicle to the Hawaiian gardens location the girl Erin I believe asked us about our rental experience. She apologized and offered us a free upgrade on our next rental. WHAT?! Why would I ever rent from Enterprise again? Who would do that? Five minutes of the Hawaiian Gardens workers being nice doesn't make up for three days with an unsafe car. No resolutions. No discount. No anything. The company as a whole is definitely not concerned with their customer's safety nor satisfaction. Definitely look for another rental company if you're looking to rent a car. read more

I had a stressful car accident on Friday evening. With my car being totaled, I was stuck in Corona and this was the closest Enterprise that was open. Before coming to this location, I called the number and asked if I could get a rental with my reservation. They told me they were out of cars on the phone. I asked them if they had anything at all and if they could help me out in this predicament and the kind gentleman on the phone told me they would find something for me and that they would help me out and to just come into the location. After finding transportation to the Enterprise, the manager (I believe his name was Keith) wouldn't budge, said the person on the phone who told me that was "frankly, an idiot" and wouldn't take any responsibility for the miscommunication. After a stressful total-loss car accident, I didn't need the stress and lack of compassion of the employee who told me that if he "helped me out, he would lose his job" because the system would red flag the reservation. To me, it just sounded like, he didn't want to offer good customer service and help someone out. Maybe I'm wrong and his boss really would have fired him for helping me out. In that case, I would just urge his manager to allow his employees to have more discretion and offer more solutions to customers who are in desperate need. read more

I spoke with customer service to do a swap out at the airport. I drop off my vehicle for the truck that the representative put to replace me in. Unfortunately the manager I believe her name was terry. She didn't honor the swap out she wanted to put me in a compact when I was told by customer service I was getting a truck. She then offers to put me back in the vehicle I was swapping out. So after I leave there she puts it smelled Smokey in the car in my notes as to hurt me even further. I don't know what is going on with these enterprise employees/managers but they need better customer service skills asap. I will say Chris & the team at Ontario on Vanderbilt are awesome as well as rancho Ivan & Juan. It's like it really was her going out of her way to work with me in the least bit on this. I have never ever been so dissatisfied with a company EVER in my life!!! Ive never felt so insulted and embarrassed. The assistant manager, William Lugo refused to rent to me although I had all the required criteria. Then he refused to show me any policy that stated otherwise. ***Ive provided you the signs they have posted on the desk. I personally don't like credit cards and don't use them. So I made sure by calling days prior to ensure I'd be good. Corporate said I'd be just fine. I had no transportation as uber no longer goes to Ontario airport. I sat there and begged him in front of a crowd to please not do this to me. He Ignored me and walked away. Luckily a lady saw what I went through and gave me a ride to where I could call an UBER. The gentleman that checked us in was helpful, and went beyond our expectations for service. However, the inventory was quite low and the vehicle we chose was still dirty inside after having been "cleaned". There were larger pieces of trash including gun packages and food wrappers in very plain sight. There were some features of the car that were broken or not working as they should as well, including, a parking sensor hanging from the rear bumper and the moon roof motorized cover doesn't slide without a tug to get it going. Enterprise at the ONT Airport is absolutely terrible. We were forced to go here to swap out a vehicle that had body damage and was not safely drivable. I was referred here by another Enterprise location even though it was 3 hours out of our way. The employees were totally disrespectful and had no desire to assist my wife and I. One lady in particular kept saying that they had no large SUVs to swap out with my damaged vehicle although there was large suv's and larger on their lot. All of a sudden after us waiting for over an hour one miraculously appeared. I said thank you and the lady who was unwilling to assist us stated as she walked away "if it was up to me you would never have gotten this one".
