Been a couple times, overall it's a good experience. My flight was late and delayed, but the staff waited past closing for our flight to arrive and to get us into a rental. Even at midnight, everyone was friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we got into our minivan efficiently. Regarding quality of vehicle, it all depends on the mileage. Obviously if you have a low mileage car, it's going to be like driving around a new car. High mileage it will be obviously less nice. That's just how rental cars work. This time I had a low mileage van and it was awesome. Last time, it was high mileage and showed its age. absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. I called 17 times over a seven hour span my day of travel to try and avoid the eventual outcome. No one ever answer the phone at the business. I don't know how it's possible that an open business doesn't answer its phone for 7 hours. This is by far I believe is the worst Hertz I had ever encountered. The customer service agent doesn't listen nor is the manager competent to help customers. I rented a car for 6/5-6/7 wanted to extended a day couldn't do it in the app end up booking a new contract for additional day. No one answers the phone at this location, end up have to drive to the location to personally deal with in person. I explained the situation and the customer agent closed my current contract and try to have me pay for additional day. When I try to cancel the closing of the contract which I didn't want neither her or the manger is competent enough to correct the issue. I was out of a car for 24 hours and they want to charge me an additional day. Never coming back to this place and definitely let everyone I know go somewhere else read more

Terrible. They took my money for a "refundable" reservation. I tried to cancel by calling the Hertz office directly, per their cancellation instructions, and could not get through. When I later met with a Hertz manager in person and showed him my attempts to cancel, he said it wasn't his problem and to go to my credit card company "that's what they're there for." read more

The car we rented, a 3025 Hyundai Santa Fe was a lemon. After driving for 2 hours, the car shakes when I step on a brake and it's getting. Had to tow the car to Pep Boys until it was fixed. We had a 4 hour delay on our trip to Sacramento. Another issue was when I returned the car, I found out I left the radar detector device in the windshield. I reported the day after and was promised that someone will get in touch with me soon. It's been almost a month but never heard from Hertz. Terrible experience with hertz today. We rented out a Polestar with hertz through our travel points. We did the pre check to get the vehicle early but hertz gave us a vehicle that didn't work all around. The stereo didn't work at all & the CarPlay wouldn't work, the CarPlay would be frozen on the screen for maps. Also the customer service was absolutely terrible. I went to exchange the vehicle and the customer service desk man said that "you shouldn't rent an electric car if you don't know how to drive it" when i asked if there was any issues with any other electric cars with hertz. When I went to pick up my rental, the counter attendant (Dave) asked me if i wanted to have the fuel tank fueled for me, and that all I had to do was return the vehicle and not worry about the purchase of fuel when bringing it back at $4.70/gal. He said that I would be charged $3.80/gal to fill the tank now. I agreed to have the tank filled at $3.80/gal and signed the contract (Monday 12/15) for return on (Friday 12/19). When I walked to get the car on the lot, I got in the vehicle, but there was no key to be located. The car would start, which meant that the key was in the vehicle. I searched all throughout the vehicle: Under mats, glove compartment, center console, back seat under mat, trunk, on top of tires, sun visors...but could not find the key. I walked back to find some lot attendants, and a very nice lady went back to the vehicle to help me find the key. After about 5 minutes of searching, she eventually found the key which had slid between the driver's seat and the center console - hidden from view. I had used the rental because my vehicle was being repaired at Crash Champions on Cucamonga Ave in Ontario. The vehicle was ready as promised on Friday MORNING. I arranged for my wife to go in late to work so that she could help me return the rental to Hertz. Upon going to Crash Champions, my Advisor (Jorge) told me that I could just leave the vehicle with Crash Champions, and that they have a "very good relationship with Hertz", and that Hertz would pick up the vehicle for me. With a bad feeling in my gut, I left the rental at Crash Champions in the morning at 0900 trusting that they would follow through with the return of the rental. Upon receiving my receipt in the mail, I was charged for two late days (It was returned to Hertz on 12/23), plus fees, AND I was charged $11.41/gal for gas + $0.357/mi. My beginning total estimated rental was $207.67, and my final bill was for over $400 after they picked up the car 4 days after I returned the rental to Crash Champions. Crash Champions (Receptionist Denise) helped me out as being a mediator between Crash Champions and Hertz. It has taken a few weeks to get an answer from both Denise and Hertz. Denise had been frequently calling Hertz, and not getting a reply. (She had a Post-It Note on her computer screen to remind her of my issue). Upon calling this morning (1/9), I was informed that Denise spoke with the manager at Hertz (David) - Same guy who helped me at the counter? I do not know. David said that the renter would have to contact Hertz Admin to dispute the rental. Denise also said that her management (Crash Champions) will not be responsible. I verified with Denise that they have the information that I returned the rental with them on Friday morning, and she said that it was listed as dropped off with them. My advice: Do NOT pay for ANYTHING extra with a rental vehicle if your insurance covers it (I didn't pay for anything extra - except for the $3.80/gal gas option that turned into $11.41/gal + $0.357/mile. Do NOT fall for their gas tank fill option (SCAM) - Dave was pretty smooth it how he described it. Do NOT drop off a rental at any other place than the rental facility itself - even if "they have a good relationship" with the rental company. read more

PREPAID for a rental car quite a bit in advance to my trip, when I arrived to pick it up they first tried to say I never paid, then tried to say I owed an additional 350 on the car that i had ALREADY PAID FOR. Customer service at the desk was incredibly poor, they could not resolve the issue for me so I had to then call customer service and spend a large amount of time on the phone with them sitting outside the rental car place. At the end of the day I had to cancel and rebook my whole trip (meaning I had to wait 7-10 business days for the refund of that money). I somehow ended up paying $770 (?????) more dollars to get my car that day, unfortunately I had no choice as I needed the transportation. I am hoping to get some back as it was a 'security' deposit but I am sincerely doubting they will make that an easy process either. Absolutely horrible experience today with Hertz at ONT airport. I pre reserved a car a week ago. It asked for my information to check in ahead of time and skip the line. Sure. Said i had to add a credit card. I wanted to pay with debit so system said just being debit card in in person. No issue. Time to pick up the car comes and not only can I not use my debit card or even rent the car (my outgoing flight was not the same day as my car rental return, a rule I had no idea existed until after this whole dilemma), but she charged me for the full rental and the 500 dollar hold without getting this information from me ahead of time. So i was charged a total of 700 dollars for a car i COULD NOT RENT, and the charge will not release for 48 hours. I am now essentially double paying for this rental until the charge can fall off. Hertz is my go-to for business and personal rental cars. I love having Gold status and no longer having to wait in line. I can roll in and check for my name on the board telling me which parking stall to find my car. On this particular weekend I selected a manager's special which a surprise. My surprise was a cool little electric car However, my weekend entailed going to Redlands, Dodgers stadium and out to Fullerton. I didn't know how long an electric charge would last so didn't want to chance it. I went back inside to exchange my vehicle and customer service obliged me with no issues. Awesome service! read more

Not Exactly! Hertz provides poor service, again. We arrived and the reserved car was not in stock. The agent upgraded us to a sports car, but the gate agent did not allow us to leave. Hertz gives you the option to check in before arrival to skip the line/counter for convenience but DON'T do it until you get there.I received the text to choose my car at 1145am for my 12pm rental, so I checked in and chose my car. I arrived at Hertz around 1255, stopped at the gate to have my keys and DL scanned, and received my receipt at 105pm. I look at the receipt and it shows rental began at 1145am not at 105pm. Weird!! I arrived to return the car at 103pm and although it was paid for in advance I went inside to make sure I wouldn't be charged anything extra. Guess what?? I was told that I would be charged an additional $10 because I returned the car an hour late. When I explained the situation to the front desk he told me there was no way for them to print the receipt if I didn't get the car at the time stated. I asked him to show me the time the keys and my DL were scanned but he couldn't and insisted the time shown was the time I received the car. He was wrong!! The moral of the story is, DO NOT check in to skip the line until you get to the lot because you will be charge for the rental every minute after. read more

I enjoy renting from this location because the staff are friendly and helpful with information. But when it comes to the vehicles being properly cleaned out for the next reserved person, they are extremely poor. This is the 2nd time we experienced it and both times were when my family and I are doing family trips. This time the car was not vacuumed, so there is trash, crumbs, dirt everywhere in the car. There was drink and food stains on doors handles and seats. And something my son kept saying was "this car stinks". I am not pleased with how they signed off on the car being cleaned thoroughly, maybe disinfected, but I'm don't that is even true. read more

Rented a car here. Got a price quote over the phone, reserved the car for that price and when I got there they did a bait and switch. Without my knowledge they charged me an extra $55. Wasn't aware until I looked at the receipt later. Not to mention the even gross part, the car had bed bugs. I've been bit all over my body. Omg what a horrible experience! I ordered a car for a friend because he has difficulty using the computer long story. It's a little older and Computers are not his friend. First of all do not try to reach anyone on the phone. You will spend hours Mini phone calls, and just frustrates yourself. If it cannot be done with an app or the website, just give it up. Clearly there's no customer service with this company. They have made it automated and do not give a second about the customer. I don't care how much more you need to pay to rent someplace else. As I've had a bad experience w/ Korean vehicles, I politely requested for a non-Korean vehicle. The Hertz employee suggested a 2010 Infiniti M35! Yipee! I'll make sure to come back to Hertz when I'm in the area! They also have plenty of other fancy vehicles on their lot too, including Camaros, Corvettes, E-Class etc. read more

Every day after that I had a $65 fraudulent charges charged to my account - this went on for 5 days. I tried endlessly to call this location on foothill in Rancho Cucamonga and no one ever answered the phone. I called over 50 times -10 times a day!! I finally had to drive there (25 minutes from my home) I spoke to the manager Golda and she could not tell me why my card was being charged every day, since this was a free rental!! She told me she would have to send her driver Charles to Upland Ford to see if the vehicle was there while I waited!! What the hell? Upland ford is 20 minutes away! As a manager she should've just checked her emails that I reminded her the service writer sent her. Or Called the service writer herself!! NO she did not - instead she had to inconvenience the customer even more by having me wait I had to sit there and wait for her driver Charles to confirm that the vehicle was there! I recently rented a vehicle at this location. After the 15 minute check out, even though I was the only person in line, I was directed to choose my vehicle from the allowed ares. There was only one vehicle so the choice was easy. My check in time was 8:00 and I was checked out at 8:09. The vehicle was fine even though it lacked power, but was sufficient for my purpose. My check in time was 8:00 and I entered the lot right before that. The attendants were busy with other vehicles and by the time they checked me out was 8:05. They told me they would email my receipt. While at the airport I received my receipt and was surprised that a $12.00 late fee was charged. I did try to phone corporate, but gave up and contacted them online. I have yet to receive a reply and the dispute remains unsolved. read more
